Hillside pavers did such a good job the first time we asked them back to do another project. They delivered again! Their attention to detail is one of the things I appreciate the most. There's another wonderful experience working with their team. I would highly recommend Hillside pavers for your projects.
Byron and his team at Hillside Pavers did such a great job transforming our awkwardly shaped backyard into something we will actually use! The crew did such a great job and their attention to detail was top notch. Highly recommend them!
I have been on a remodeling kick over the past year. I have transformed my courtyard and front into great entertaining spaces with pergolas, built-in bbq and outside big screen televisions and seating. The only thing I needed was new landscaping. After I got an idea of what I wanted, I got some bids from yelp. One thing that stood out was that Heather from Hillside Pavers seemed to know exactly what I wanted. After our initial meeting at the property, she contacted me a few hours later with some ideas and a rendering of what the space might look like. I knew right away that I wanted to work with her. When I received the quote, although it was more than I was thinking of spending, I felt it was reasonable as it included so many things I hadn't considered. The project was recently completed, and it looks great! The crew was great, very positive energy and they all seemed to work together well. Shaun, the project manager, was on top of things and kept me updated and reached out when he needed my input. I am already looking forward to working with Hillside on the next phase, as I have a hillside (lol) and side yard with a grassy knoll to work on. Thanks Hillside, well done! Don't let the name fool you, Hillside's team really knows landscaping! I didn't even get a single paver installed . . .
If you're looking for a trustworthy, reliable company who is going to make your yard look drop dead gorgeous, Hillside Pavers is it. Byron and his team completely transformed our patio and yard, and the entire experience was exceptional. Communication was outstanding from start to finish. His whole crew responded quickly, showed up when they said they would, kept us informed every step of the way, and delivered beautiful, high-quality work with incredible attention to detail. What impressed us most was their integrity. Byron and his team were transparent the entire time, anticipated issues before they became bigger problems, and went far beyond what most contractors would have done to make everything right (and seconded by my father who's been doing carpentry for 50 years that they were exceptional). I chose Hillside Pavers because they had amazing reviews, but you never know. I'm so glad I trusted what everyone else had said because now we understand why. It's rare to find a company that combines exceptional craftsmanship with this level of honesty, communication, and customer care, treating our home like their own. When we do more work to our yard, Hillside Pavers is our first call.
Hillside pavers were extremely professional and on time. They gave a fantastic quote and didn't nickel and dime us. Pricing was transparent and fair. Working with Byron was a breeze. They kept to key timelines and managed and facilitated work with other sub contractors properly. I believe Bryon and his team went above and beyond multiple times to get us the front and backyard of our dreams! Highly recommend giving them an opportunity to transform your yard!
There are renovations that improve a home -- and then there are renovations that fundamentally recalibrate how that home exists within its environment. What Byron Schley and the team at Hillside Pavers delivered for us falls squarely into the latter category. Ours is one of the oldest houses on the block, my grandfather built it himself in the early seventies so needless to say there is sentimental value here, the years were told loudly in its dated facade ever more blindly as one by one and year by year the houses around us became more modern and desirable and that contrast was ever more noticeable when it became every other house on the block. Before this project, our front yard was little more than a narrow, uninspired strip adjacent to the public sidewalk that functioned more like spillover from the street than usable property. It did nothing to reflect the scale or architectural presence of our three-story, beach-adjacent home. Today, that same footprint operates as a private, structured courtyard -- a defined outdoor living space that feels intentional, modern, and architecturally integrated. The Techo-Bloc paver installation is executed with geometric discipline and clean proportional balance. The contrasting border trim sharpens the layout, and the modular patterning reads refined rather than repetitive. Where water once pooled visibly, the drainage now performs efficiently and invisibly -- The upgraded water line alone was transformative. What used to produce barely a trickle now delivers pressure so strong it rivals commercial output .The underground drip irrigation system is intelligently concealed beneath the hardscape and reemerges precisely within the base of our large entry planters. It is automated, timer-controlled, and calibrated for plant health without visual clutter. For us gardening is a foreign labor, the system removes guesswork and replaces it with precision. It lays the groundwork for what will be Madagascar jasmine and Rainbow's End climbing roses to ascend the custom trellis Speaking of the trellis -- it is a custom design by Byron himself and serves as the architectural anchor of the entire entry sequence. Its linear steel geometry frames the approach to the home, introduces vertical rhythm, and gives the courtyard presence and scale. The black powder-coated aluminum slat fencing, set atop a raised paver foundation, creates privacy without heaviness. The laser-cut gate beneath the trellis introduces texture and artistry, especially when lit from behind at night. And the lighting system integrated along the fence base and entryway is hospitality-grade in execution. The perimeter wash creates a subtle floating effect. The laser-cut gate panels glow from behind in layered depth rather than harsh brightness. With full color customization available, the space can transition from understated architectural white to vibrant holiday displays with precision. It feels closer to a Ritz-Carlton courtyard or private club environment than a residential frontage. Most importantly, the project didn't just improve appearance -- it created usable square footage. It has become the preeminent gathering space of our home. it is upscale functional living space. The neighborhood response has been immediate .Neighbors who we barely knew for years have introduced themselves. Passersby stop to compliment the change. The property now projects the level of architectural coherence it always deserved. We approached this cautiously. Prior experiences made us exacting and demanding clients. Byron handled that with patience and professionalism. When questions arose, they were addressed. The end result reflects accountability and pride in workmanship. Hillside Pavers is not inexpensive -- but quality rarely is. There is a tangible difference between budget work and engineered, finished craftsmanship. This project did not simply beautify our home. It expanded it. If you are seeking exterior transformation that blends infrastructure, architecture, lighting design, and true spatial creation -- Byron Schley delivers work that justifies the investment. The result is not just attractive. It is world class work accompanied by attentive customer service . Rarely do you see people that live by the age old idiom anymore who's motto is the customer is always right! But With this outfit that's exactly what you receive and working with them was transformative . I highly recommend their services to any and everyone who are sick of simply average work and service that only toes the industry line, if you want something more, something world class and a good experience throughout call Byron Schley and hillside pavers (+1 (714) 613-2500) , I cannot sing their praises high enough and this review doesn't even give them the credit they deserve so one last time Thank You Byron and thank the boys down at hillside pavers for an amazing job
Hillside installed pavers on our driveway and entire yard, as well as re tiled our spa, created new steps to the pool/spa, and resurfaced our pool slide. Shaun, Oscar and Heather were all very professional, with Shaun overseeing the work virtually every day. Although there were a couple of hiccups, they ensured that everything was done to our satisfaction. We would highly recommend them.
Added more photos of the project after the rain. With all the piece of broken fence gone it's much roomier
Great group of guys. They are hard working and they do great work. Their communication can be lacking but they came through and completed the work. No real complaints here. Would hire them again. I feel their concrete work was a great value. Jason was the representative and he was very attentive.
Byron and his team gave excellent service and quality work from the beginning to the end. Byron gave a detailed and well thought out plan for our house project. Communication with Valentina made the whole process so much easier and informative. The crew that came out was hard working, paid attention to detail and efficient. Our end results exceeded our expectations and we plan to use them for our future house projects.

Our neighbor across the street was having a big project completed by Hillside and I was impressed with the quality of work so I contacted them regarding a turf project at my home. I met with Byron and he was knowledgeable and easy to communicate with. I decided to go with Hillside and couldn't be happier. The work was done in a timely manner, the team was friendly and professional and the end result came out outstanding. Now our next door neighbor is using them as well! We couldn't be any happier with how things came out. read more

I was looking for a company to put pavers put down in my backyard and was immediately impressed with Hillside Pavers. Sandra came to my house for an initial consultation and was exceedingly knowledgeable, professional, and friendly. The project took the estimated amount of time, which was impressive given that most projects go over and was done perfectly. I appreciated working closely with Oscar, the project manager, as he communicated well, was reliable, and clearly committed to my overall happiness. He was so pleasant to work with and I really got the impression that he cares about providing the best service to his customers. I would wholeheartedly recommend this company to anyone looking for some sprucing up of their yard. read more

Last spring we started a huge backyard renovation - pool remodel, planter removal, new landscaping, and all new decking. Instead of having our pool contractor handle the pavers, we reached out to Hillside for a quote. Oscar came and was very knowledgeable and sent a very reasonable estimate in a timely manner. Hillside did all of the demo (minus the pool) and then paused the job until our pool contractor was ready for the pavers. During the pause, Oscar was very communicative and would reach out for updates. As soon as we were ready for pavers, the process was extremely easy and smooth! Any and all questions we had were answered right away - seriously I can't imagine better communication with a contractor. We absolutely love our yard and the pavers are beautiful! Since completing the job last summer, Hillside has reached out to see if we needed more joint sand between the pavers before pool season begins. Their foreman, Isidro, who is very knowledgeable and thorough came by to add the joint sand and did a great job. They truly care about their customers and want you to be happy with the final product! read more

I had Hillside Pavers install pavers on my patio. They completely removed the old Spanish tiles, installed two new drains, then installed the Belgard, Catalina pavers. They did a great job. Minor damage done to the patio stucco walls. They filled in any stucco that had been chipped, then I painted the stucco myself. Like I said it was minor, so easy to touch up. They did a good job cleaning up everyday, and at the end. I did have some cleanup to do afterwards, but it was minor too. All in all, I'm very pleased with the results. read more

The work that Hillside Pavers performed for me was pivotal in ensuring the success of my front yard remodel. My house is a California ranch-style 1960's throwback. I chose to embrace the used brick facade and needed someone to come in and replace the crumbling front planter. I was worried that the new "used brick" used to replaced the old brick would not match and would look like an obvious update. Oscar and his team understood my concerns and were able to integrate some if the old brick into the new planter. I am so pleased with the result. The repair is virtually impossible to detect! A couple of months later, after the landscaping from another amazing company (Growscapes) was completed I have a front yard that I am completely satisfied with! Hillside Pavers listened to my greatest concern and constructed my front planter to match my vision. Thanks again Oscar. read more

The team at Hillside Pavers were excellent to work with through the whole process. They were very responsive and got our project done in a quick and efficient manner. The owner (Oscar), showed up on the first day to ensure he and his crew understood the project and he came back when the job was almost completed to check in and see if we were pleased with the progress and outcome. The workmanship was exceptional and they cleaned up the work area and the street before they left. Their pricing was very competitive and they use brand name products. Thanks for the great job! read more

Oscar and his team at Hillside Pavers did a great job with our small project: driveway and back patio. Oscar gave us a solid bid and explained the process of installation. He provided gentle advice on paver style and color. He was able to start the project in about 3 weeks. His crew was on time, hardworking and careful with our property. Demo-ing concrete leaves a huge pile of heavy rubble, but his crew handled it effortlessly - even though it was a pain with reduced access from attached neighboring houses. The new pavers are clean and beautiful and Oscar was super responsive. Easiest home improvement project ever. read more

"I hired Hillside Pavers to remove our old pavers and install new ones in our backyard. Every interaction I had with the team there - from the owner Oscar, to Byron the Project Manager, Linda the Coordinator and others was wonderful! Everyone was professional, knowledgeable and helpful at every turn. Not only did they give me a fair and reasonable price, but they finished the job ahead of schedule. The work they performed was high quality and looks fantastic! I'm very pleased and would highly recommend Hillside Pavers to everyone." read more

Hillside Pavers' Master Mason Luis, Project Manager Oscar, Sales Manager Chad and the other masons did a high quality job, either managing or skillfully crafting the architectural stone veneer facade and paver upgrades to the front porch for our home. The company did not exceed their quotation; managed the project well and maintained timely communications via text messaging. The hard working masonry crews performed professionally, crafting beautiful work and left no mess behind. We are so pleased with the results.Thank you all! read more

Hi. I would like to say how THRILLED we are with Hillside pavers. From start to finish I could not be happier with the customer service, the quality of the product, the professional workers, the timeline and especially the final result. Oscar and the crew showed up each morning on time , happy and ready to put in a full day! ( not so easy to find anymore) Our driveway/walkways/front porch job was slotted for 10 days and they finished two days early. Oscar was very available when we had a few questions. We were also pleasantly surprised when I mentioned that a portion of our grass died in the front due to the construction . Oscar graciously sent a check to replace the grass! Needless to say I highly recommend Hillside pavers and will definitely use them again for the backyard in the future! read more

Oscar at Hillside Pavers was such a pleasure to work with! We bid the job out with multiple contractors and Oscar won us over with his responsiveness, knowledge, pricing and willingness to go the extra mile. He truly earned our business through superior customer service. He was patient with us through the entire process, even through some miscommunication bumps. His team executed the project quickly and efficiently. We now have been enjoying our patio and pavers for a few months and we could not be happier with the results. I'm so glad we went with Hillside Pavers and I highly recommended them! read more

Oscar, Ysidro and team did a fantastic job in our backyard. We turned what had been a planted area with bushes into usable space. They matched the existing clover pattern we had in the rest of our backyard. More important they put in a ton of effort, doing a beautiful job cutting the tiles where needed into tiny pieces to fit - a work of art. They also left the yard tidy and came back the next day to fill in some areas where the joint sand hadn't fully filled. Could not have asked for better care for the work and attention to detail, even though our project was relatively small compared to others like doing a full driveway. read more
