I'm sure some of you, like me, have had your fair share of horrible luck with contractors in providing adequate service for the projects that were at hand; but this company is FARRRR from that! We were looking to have some drains installed in the backyard because there was a lot of flooding that was happening. Although, we needed to find a company that could install some drains, we were also looking to have the drains not touch the new pavers that had recently been installed. It sounded like a tricky task but we knew there was a company out there that could help figure something out, and there was, and it was Newport Landscape. After receiving several quotes for drain installation, Newport Landscape came through with the best option ( pop-up drains ) and best price and the quickest turn around time for us. No joke, they were in and out within a couple of days. It was remarkable. Plus, Rolando even checked in to see how they were working ( literally, he came out to check them and stood out in the rain to do so, with his flashlight ) and also came out to fix a small problem we had within 48 hours of me calling It was simply amazing. I never received any griff for questions I asked or even when I brought up the small problem we had. Rolando simply said "don't worry about it, we will get that fixed for you right away!", and they did! No calling back 10 times just to see when they will be sending someone out to fix something, he followed through with his words and showed up and him and his team, including Gary, all helped out to come together and make it work. They even helped us clean out our gutters, just in time for the rainstorm to come and laid down some extra rocks in our garden, from what was leftover from the drain installation. I usually don't leave negative reviews, but I feel obligated to share my experience so others can make an informed decision. THIS COMPANY IS NOT LICENSED!!!! I initially hired Newport Landscape (run by Ronaldo Aguilar) back in February for a front and backyard landscaping project. At first, everything sounded great. Ronaldo assured me that he and his team were licensed contractors, and that they accepted credit card payments with no extra fee. Based on that, I moved forward and even worked with a designer he referred. After weeks of planning and design, the red flags started showing. First, I found out Ronaldo is not a licensed contractor, despite what he originally told me. That's a serious issue and felt like a complete betrayal of trust. Then, despite previously confirming that they take credit cards, he changed his story and said they only accept cash. That is not only unprofessional, but also a major inconvenience and concern for anyone doing a large project. But the biggest problem? Communication is absolutely horrible. I've spent months chasing him--calling, texting, emailing--just trying to finalize the contract and get started. He always says he'll get back to me, but never follows through. I spoke with him last Friday, and he said he'd review the contract and follow up. It's now Tuesday, and nothing. This has been the pattern for weeks. We are now in June, and this project has gone nowhere. I've put in all the effort, only to be met with lies, delays, and silence. I've decided not to proceed with him or his companies. It's incredibly frustrating and disappointing, especially after investing time and energy into this. Please save yourself the trouble and look elsewhere for a reliable, licensed, and professional landscaper. This was a complete waste of time read more

Rolando and Maile were super attentive to our needs. I can't say enough good things about how our backyard turned out. I felt that I was in really good hands and they took their time to make sure they did a good job and checked in with me to see if I was happy with the results. From the consultation, to Maile making all the revisions to the plans to make sure I was comfortable with the budget and the layout, to her team reading all the HOA guidelines to make sure everything complied, then it coming to fruition with Rolando on site to make sure everything was done properly, Rolando driving 1-2 hours away just to get the tree I wanted...let's just say I was happy with how they conducted their business. My only advice is make sure you allow ample of time over your approx. initial date of completion. In my case, we got on the schedule in January and it wasn't done until March. Every time it rained, we had to wait longer to complete it. To be fair, it rained a lot the last two months. And since we wanted to revise something after everything was done in February, it took awhile to get back on their schedule again. I got frustrated waiting at times but every time I reached out to Rolando, he was always communicative with me and was prompt in responding. I would definitely recommend them to anyone. We used Newport Landscape for a backyard cleanup and small budget remodel. Maile was super helpful and had good ideas. The quality of the work is excellent. The hubs put a level on everything, and it was perfect. Pro tip! Dg, decomposed granite, makes a good fill in when you really don't want something else. I didn't want grass or cement, couldn't afford artificial grass, so we filled this area with dg. It doesn't get too hot, the dog loves it, it's very firmly compacted and easy to walk on, not sandy at all. And it drains well with the rain. read more

You really need to read the reviews in this forum and pay attention to the part where claims are made that they don't communicate, because, THEY DON'T COMMUNICATE! When we hired them, we told them there was only one requirement for the project, not to make our yard the neighborhood litter box for the feral cats. I now have the biggest $10,000 litter box in the state of California. Ok, so, I've paid for it, not much I can do, but what about the exploding irrigation hoses, the fact that there are at least five plants that died pretty quickly and where's the estimate to fix the litter box situation? I've been chasing Rolando now since August on numerous issues and have now come to the conclusion that he's only there until he gets paid, any issues after that, he's not going to respond, or worse, he seems genuinely sincere and concerned and then just blows you off. Seriously, reconsider hiring these guys, it all looks good on the front end, but you need to know that these guys are a bunch of flakes and if there's an issue, they're not going to stand behind their work and you're just going to have to,live with what they've given you. read more
