What really stood out was his honesty and integrity. In today's economy, it's refreshing to find a company that doesn't price gouge. Every other estimate I received was double or more than Edwin's price to replace 2 sprinkler valves and an exterior main shutoff valve with a brass quarter-turn ball valve. He checked everything after install, thoroughly cleaned his work area, and reset my sprinkler timers for me before leaving. Edwin kept his pricing fair, reasonable, and easy to understand. Finding an honest, ethical business owner like him is rare these days. He has absolutely earned a customer for life. I'll gladly recommend Newport Sprinkler Repair to my neighbors, friends, and anyone looking for a trustworthy irrigation company. If you're browsing Yelp trying to decide who to hire, stop looking and call Edwin at Newport Sprinkler Repair!

I hired Newport Sprinkler Repair based on their strong reviews, and the finished job is clean,…read moreprofessional, and runs great. Daniel did solid work on site, dialing in the lawn coverage, sealing crawlspace penetrations, and sleeving the valve wiring. My main advice for future clients is to make sure every expectation is completely aligned during the initial walkthrough. The final bill ended up noticeably higher than the estimate. An underground pipe issue under the driveway was an unexpected discovery and completely understandable to pay for. However, other items became add-ons due to miscommunication. I had expected the controller to be hardwired directly, and I also assumed the pipe thud I mentioned to Ed during his initial visit would be resolved in the original scope rather than needing a water hammer arrestor added after the fact. Overall, they do quality work and accommodated all my requests, so I am happy with the finished system.

With many I had to wait a while for a quote, or had a bit of lag in communication, but with Anthony, I got a rough quote on the spot and consistently quick responses. While Anthony was checking out the project area, he pointed out a leaky sprinkler system and explained parts that needed to be fixed right away vs parts that could wait. As we currently live in the age of AI fact checking, I did verify the points and he was indeed honest and helpful :) On the day of appointment, Anthony and team showed up around the time scheduled and got the work done quickly and cleanly. Where there was a slight misunderstanding, Anthony and team fixed it immediately. I highly recommend you give this pleasant, family owned business a shot. They found the balance of being fairly priced yet professional, and this makes me comfortable in reaching out to them for future work. Thank you Anthony!

Not enough effort is put into building an authentic relationship and it seems like people just do the minimum so that they can move on to the next transaction. Steve and his crew are regular people that treat others with kindness and respect not because they have to, but because that's who they are. They fixed a leaky pipe in my backyard without having to pull up my pavers and then they fixed a pipe in my front planter that solved low pressure on my drip lines. No fuss, no extra charges or unnecessary parts and labor. I chose OC Sprinkler Doctor because they are a local Fullerton company with outstanding Yelp…read morereviews. Unfortunately, my experience did not match those reviews. My impression is that they handle basic sprinkler repairs, but I would not recommend them for irrigation problems involving electrical diagnostics. The work was expensive, the original problem was never fixed, and follow-up was poor. I hired them to address three issues: an "over current" error on one irrigation zone, a missing sprinkler head on a hillside, and uneven lawn coverage. They were initially responsive and scheduled the work within a week. During a half-day visit they replaced a valve they said was cracked, installed the missing sprinkler head, relocated several sprinklers, and upgraded some sprinkler heads. The cost was about $1,600. I was told the work was guaranteed for one year, but I never received a written receipt. Within days, the "over current" error returned. After repeated calls, texts, and emails over the next month, I finally received an automated appointment confirmation for a return visit. At the follow-up, the technician took only a brief look at the valve, searched Google on his phone, and suggested I simply let the solenoid burn out and replace it when needed. No testing was done at the controller or valve, the wiring was not traced or tested, and no diagnostic tools were used to locate the short. Instead, I was offered a quote for a $1,000 wire replacement. For me, the combination of high cost, an unresolved problem, and poor follow-up outweighed the quality of the basic sprinkler work.

The first visit cost $1,133 and covered the initial setup and repairs to both my front and back yard sprinkler systems. They did a good job and I was happy with the results. I brought them back a second time for $1,716 to handle wiring, fix some broken sprinkler components in the front yard, and extend the system to cover additional areas. The wiring of both the front and back systems was done perfectly, and I appreciated that part of the work. That said, if you have fruit trees or citrus in your yard, be aware that they do not have the expertise to handle specialized watering needs for those plants. The sprinklers near my fruit trees were set up incorrectly, and a professional arborist I later consulted told me the configuration would overwater the trees. I called OC Sprinkler Doctor to come back and fix the issue, but they never returned my call. Now I am in a position where I will need to hire a professional arborist who also can do landscaping to come back and fix the sprinkler system again, likely at a cost of $3,000 or more, when I am able to afford it. They are reasonably priced and capable of handling standard sprinkler lawn work, but the lack of specialized knowledge around vegetables, fruit trees and citrus trees, combined with the complete silence when I tried to get the issue resolved, may end up costing me far more in the end.
