Wow, what a significant improvement to my home! I talked to quite a few companies, but chose Pacific Pavers due to their experience and knowledge. The choice was fortuitous and I'm really happy with my new driveway! The installation team was amazing, very hard working and skilled. It was amazing to watch the little bulldozer removing all the old asphalt and all the guys breaking up concrete. It was done very quickly with no peripheral damage to my plants and yard. Several large trucks were staged to remove the debris and more came to bring driveway dirt and sand. After compacting the miracle of laying the pavers was awe inspiring. How do they do it so evenly with the exact proper pitch? After the pavers were set they cut the border with a skill saw and added the curb. The guys cut many different shapes and even round holes for lights. For the door stoop there was some stone cladding on the wall that needed repair on the bottom. They asked if I had some leftover cladding, but then very skillfully mimicked the existing stone and securely adhered it to the wall so it looks perfect! The appearance of my house was extremely enhanced and I was happy to make the final payment. I am really happy that I went with Pacific Pavers. I researched other companies but they were all up-sale type programs. I met with Sam a couple years prior and wasn't expecting him to honor the quote. He came back out, helped narrow down pavers, and created the easiest project for us from start to finish. Sam and his crew just completed a project at our home and it turned out to be stupendous! Our project included about 3000 square feet of pavers, irrigation, drain, custom stepping stones, and sealer. The process was not perfect but Sam was great with keeping up informed of changes and allowing for flexibility with our wants and needs (mostly wants). Sam truly goes above and beyond to ensure ones satisfaction is met and there were no upcharge for minor changes or adjustments. So, if you chose to go with Pacific Pavers, just ask Sam for it. He is a "Yes Man" and will give you what you want. LOL. We received bids from two other companies, prices were in the same ballpark but Sam managed to enchant my husband. But enough about Sam. . . For the pavers on our driveway and backyard we went with Belgard - Autumn with Belgard - Victorian borders. For the walkway, landing, and parkway we went with Belgard - Bella (smaller pavers at 45 degree pattern); stepping stones were Bella as well. Bullnose pavers were used where applicable. Wet look sealers were applied which added that finishing touch and really brought the pavers to life. I am really glad we decided to get the sealers even though it only last a few years. Not sure what else there is to say other than I originally wanted stamp concrete but the husband wanted pavers. I figured giving your husband what he wants every ten years is fair. Cost Proposal - We attained 5-6 project estimates from different companies. The companies ranged from big franchise to "Mon and Pop" contractors. Pacific Pavers' estimate came in the a bit more than a median of all the estimates . The main reason we chose Pacific Pavers for the project was Sam S. He was very professional. He never tried to upsell us for anything extra. The project estimation was itemized in very detail. Sam explained to us that anything we could do on the estimated proposal, he will deduct it from the quote. Pacific Pavers (Sam) was the only one to give us the pavers' manufacturer catalogs before we've made any decision. In addition, we've received excellent reviews from Yelpers who have reviewed Pacific Pavers here via PM (Thank you). The installation - The demo and installation crews were very professional and friendly. They came to work on time everyday and stayed late to make sure all the tasks of the day have been completed. They cleaned up the jobsite every day. My wife called them "The A-Team - Team Number 1". They did a great job of the installation. We gave them thump up and 5 stars. Final Review - The project completed smoothly and productively. We are greatly appreciated Sam and the crew. They "please" us down to the color of every pavers and how they layout (1400 sq ft). I'd hire them again and again! In our search for paving companies to demo and remodel our side and front yard, we had met with 4 different crews to give us estimates and timelines for the scope of the work we had requested. Sam came out to do measurements and discuss what we were looking for in our update in a very non sales like approach. Afterwards, we received an estimate based upon a few different stone options. Out of all the companies, we felt most comfortable with Pacific Pavers due to a few factors: 1) Sam being able to give us reasonably quick responses 2) Quoted estimate was within our budget for the project (1 was much higher and the other 2 were around the same as Pacific Pavers) 3) Able to start our project within the timeframe we needed Sam was able to get a multitude of samples in various colors and paver types delivered to our home to see as I am so visual and a visit to the material yard wasn't the same. Once the project started, the crew was able to demo on day one and lay all the pavers on day two. They worked so hard and didn't finish until the sun was setting. I'm a very detail oriented person so I did notice a few areas that bothered me that evening. Project was about 1500 sq ft plus 150 feet 18"/14" wall. Called several other 5 star rated companies found on Yelp, but their estimates were already higher than what we ended at with Pacific Pavers. Our experience with Pacific Pavers has been exceptional. Our patio project stalled out when I fired our first contractor before the project started because he was difficult to reach and did not provide any meaningful input (and the pricing was not cheap). We contacted a lot of landscapers with good reviews on Yelp and some of them didn't respond and a number were just too busy to help. Jeff was very responsive to our quote request through Yelp and quickly got us on the phone with him and his project manager, Sam. We walked through our project with them and they were very helpful in clarifying details. They quickly provided us with a good quote that was right in line with our previous contractor. Our experience working with Sam was great. He was very responsive on email and would happily get on the phone with us. He helped solve problems in sourcing and provided some suggestions that made our patio look much better. His work crew did really great work and their follow through was really good. We noticed some pooling on the patio the first day when we washed it down and Sam sent his guy out the next day to pull up pavers and regrade part of the patio to make sure the water flowed correctly. He was also very helpful in making sure some water drainage issues were solved to our satisfaction. Overall the experience was top notch. The Pacific Pavers team are real pros. They are completely fair. We ran into some unexpected issues that required extra work and materials that were not envisioned when the project was quoted. Sam was extremely fair in negotiating the additional charge and never tried to nickel and dime us on anything. I am in property management so I deal with contractors on a regular basis. When doing any major project I always get a minimum of 3 bids, first to make sure pricing is in line and most important to insure I am dealing with a contractor that appears to know what they are talking about. Once I receive the bids I ask for a minimum of 3 references. I have found that one of the most important things to do is look at a contractors work and interview people they have worked for. I actually visited 4 jobs Pacific Pavers installed and personally visited with 3 of their customers. One thing they all had in common was how happy they were with Sam, Pacific Pavers and their construction crew. My job consisted of a major remodel of my front and rear yards. This included removing a 2 story wood patio, 2 lattice patios a 3 car concrete drive and all of the surrounding concrete. Sam was very engaging, walking me thru the process steep by steep.
