My review is purely based on the initial experience that I had with David though brief it was great thus far. I inquired with about 3 other local businesses here on Yelp and so far David's communication and thoroughness in explaining his process and how he operates has led me to believe that he will take any project with seriousness and care. I have yet to move forward with any projects as I've only sent him some designs that I have. There are plans to have David actually come on site to take a more in depth look at our house and perhaps discuss more in detail about materials and budget, but more to come on that as we still have yet to schedule a date and time based on his availability, but so far the interaction has been pleasant. Was good to work with David a few years ago he was helpful in keeping my project on budget , however i was a bit miffed how the 3rd party concrete pump truck was rushed and they elected to pour right before it started to rain..... so now my back patio nearly always has an effervescence and is very blotchy in color, the only time i can get rid of it is before having company over is by spaying the patio down with diluted vinegar. Other than the back patio problem I'd say 5 stars, its been a while and i thought i reached out after the incident but i dont remember. I had to figure out and just deal with the effects on my own, did some research and have to keep cheap cleaning vinegar on hand... David is a good guy just wish things turned out different. EDIT: I do appreciate David reaching out yesterday and providing some advice, I think we narrowed it down to a bad batch of concrete. With the rain it was hard to tell, if it was discolored or just not cured yet - but will def be looking into some paint + sealer, tile or stamped concrete on top to make it look better. We're about to sell our house and honestly speaking it looked like crap on the outside. Our lawn was non-existent, our flower beds were meager and struggling, and the backyard is a massive dirt patch crawling with lizards. We asked around for recommendations and lo and behold we were recommended to David's business by two different people! Coincidence? That alone was a good sign! We did call around and got quotes anyway to make sure we got the best price, recommendations, and knowledge of plants. David was a sure winner! David and his crew came early in the morning and started work. He helped us tremendously knowing that we had a tight timeline and budget to get the front presentable for sale. We finally got around to redoing the concrete in the backyard. David was one of four contractors from whom we received a quote. David wasn't the least expensive, but he was the most honest and patient to explain everything to me. We ended up replacing about 1450sq ft of concrete for pavers. I love, love, love our backyard now. I often just look outside just because. David was very responsive to what we wanted to do, knowledgeable, and sensitive to our budget. I have already recommended him to a friend and will recommend him every time someone asks about a landscape contractor. He is the absolute best. David from DC Landscaping designed and constructed our backyard and we love the result. He did pavers, a patio cover, grass, and clean up. On his first consultation, he brought a landscape designer (also a landscape design professor at Cal Poly Pomona) and gave us the option of a professional design rendering. We didn't go that route, since we were looking for a basic backyard design. Nevertheless, with David's own eye for design, it came out beautifully. He consulted on styles and designs along the way. He provided options, what was necessary and what was optional, that best fit our budget. He is very customer service oriented, rare in the contractor world; a true professional. I especially liked how he reused material where possible, to keep costs down and to keep waste from going to a landfill. We did have to wait a few months after placing a deposit, which shows how in demand he is. If you are planning on working with DC, make sure you place your deposit as soon as possible. read more

DC Landscape just did our yard, front and back, and we couldn't be happier with the result. DC can whip up a landscape design for you. But we already had a design drawn up, a minimal Mediterranean and drought-tolerant design, and DC executed the plan to perfection. Though our plan was "minimal" we didn't realize how much work it took. Prepping alone took several weeks. In total, it took 4 weeks to do our yard. They had to rip up the old grass and plants that we didn't like, there were mounds of dirt that had to be dumped, they dug up our old, clogged storm drain and installed a new one, they replaced our really old sprinkler system, and planted new plants and trees. DC workers were hard-working, knowledgable, and nice. They listened to us as we tweaked our design during this process. David was a pleasure to work with. He knows his stuff! He made thoughtful suggestions to our design as we encountered bumps along the way. Now we enjoy sitting and relaxing in our yard everyday. We highly recommend DC Landscape. Price-wise, DC is somewhere in the middle, not too expensive and not too cheap. David and his workers, Francisco and Jose, are the best! They did a fantastic job on my backyard installing pavers and a large deck. The design went through many changes until we settled on the final one with David's help. It turned out beautifully with curved lines and materials that complement the rest of the large yard. Drainage has always been a problem, so multiple drains were added and grading was done to channel the water out and away from the house. I chose composite decking material which should last for decades, probably long after I'm gone. It looks great, I couldn't be happier. Lots of attention to detail and the job was done neatly, respectfully, and professionally. Finally, don't forget to add low voltage LED lighting. We had been trying to effectively grow grass on our parkway for 30 years without success. My wife and I decided to do something different and were fortunate to encounter David. It was the right move. He worked with us to create a beautiful landscape using succulents, and Arizona river rock as the ground cover. He also recommended a drip system to replace our sprinklers and lighting that is the "frosting on the cake". First of all, I would like to thank David for making my yard so beautiful and efficient. I can't wait till the spring comes and enjoy my heavenly garden. I decided to do a major upgrade on the back yard last year and finally dream came true. David took care of the design (OMG! I was so excited after I saw his design, he was not only the contractor he was also a true artist and architect.I saw his passion through his amazing ideas and concept of design.) I picked several landscapers on Yelp for my front yard project and contacted them over the phone. Left messages with all but only 3 returned my inquiry and 2 came to our house. David was the 2nd one. I immediately liked him because he took the time to listen to us, took notes of our basic requirements and tastes first, then explained the process step by step. When he came back a few weeks later with his initial drawing, we were blown away !! He swiftly obtained all the construction permits from the city, including for the potential problems we may run into once the demolition starts. His has excellent crew members who show up on time, tidy up the site every evening, and are very polite. Everything went very smoothly and the project was completed ahead of original schedule. Our front yard used be the eye sore but now it looks like an oasis !!! We get many complements from so may of our neighbors and can't be happier.
