I can't speak for the negative experience with System Pavers (SP), but ours was enjoyable. We were actually looking at backyard solutions for a while and talked with numerous neighbors. I did some research and found that SP was on the upper end of pricing. Now I do my research but ultimately I look for value, not the cheapest. Even though SP wasn't the cheapest, I liked the warranty and a couple of neighbors that used them loved their result and told me the entire experience was smooth. Some neighbors used cheaper contractors, but they took much longer to get the work done. There are some things that I don't buy high end or brand. But for something that I'm going to have to live with, I'm willing to spend more. We started the process by speaking with Adi, our design consultant, who walked us through and quoted us a price for our small backyard. Then Cory came by after the paperwork was done to double check the backyard and measurements. On the day of install, Cory double checked again with me before beginning work to make sure the layout was correct as shown on the paperwork, making sure if we needed any last minute changes or not. During the process, we did request a couple of changes (minor ones, like curving) and the crew did it, no problem. They even fixed something that wasn't clear on the original design without making any fuss. I asked Cory about some tips and sealant advice. He said that structurally, our setup doesn't need to be sealed...sealing helps retain color and provides weather protection. He quoted me their rate, then told me if I did it myself what I'd be looking at. It wasn't a sales pitch at all, which I appreciate a lot. He suggested to not cheap out on the sealant because the lower qualities ones need to be peeled before a new layer gets put on, whereas higher end ones don't. I would definitely recommend based on my experience. read more

It took me quite some time to write a review, but I needed to share our experience in case it saves someone else the headache and heartache we endured! We did a full remodel of our front and back yard pavers, including a pool and jacuzzi remodel (using "System Pavers" pool contractor also). There is not enough space to detail ALL of the nightmares that we went through, but I should have fired them on the spot, when I opened my teenagers bedroom curtains, to see the Foreman of the job, standing on the side of our house, holding himself and urinating on our block wall!!!! (I have pictures but won't share on this forum) Keep in mind, we had an outhouse just around the corner, in our front yard (that THEY put there) This would have been a very different outcome, had my child been the one to open the curtains and saw what I saw! Once I stated that I did not want that Foreman back on my property, I was told by the project manager, that the Foreman and his family were associated with "The Mafia" and that no other Foreman wanted to take over the job after he was removed. I took this as a scare tactic and a threat, and our job was placed on hold for WAY too long, while they "found" another Foreman to take over. The job that was quoted to take 6 weeks, took a year and a half!! Not only that, the job they did was mediocre at best. I still walk in to my backyard and think "this is what we paid for". It does not look like an "oasis" as promised. Not even close!! The craftsmanship was crap! Nothing like we were shown in the showroom! Shop around people. read more

This is a company that has no moral compass they are liars and cheats. I waited a full month for their app they called me the day before and canceled my project for another time I had a large party planned that weekend so I was upset and canceled them completely they kept $2,000 of my money without doing ONE thing I couldn't believe it! They were rude and didn't tell the truth. DO NOT use them or you will regret it read more

We had a good experience with System Pavers. From our salesman Lorinc to our project manager Wade to our construction manager Luis, everyone was knowledgeable, courteous, and responsive. We had our back yard concrete deck removed and replaced with pavers. The team performed beautifully, gently handling the demo around the pool filter, cutting away from the coping around the pool that was staying, and installing the pavers all in the span of five days--just like they said they would. I would recommend them highly. read more

Josh Rust, is the guy to go to. Gave us a great design that really opened up our backyard space, excellent advice and great suggestions on how to make subtle changes to our original vision that has helped us create an amazing backyard space. System Pavers Installation Team was awesome. Sam and his crew came in worked hard, kept us in the loop on what was going on answered questions and got the job done days ahead of schedule. I used System pavers to lay artificial turf about six months ago and unfortunately I had a water leak under the turf. Clayton, project manager was awesome he came out to assess the issue. Oscar and System Pavers have been great. We replaced all our concrete walkways and patio with SP and they did a great job, but like any project this size, things pop up. All I can say is Oscar and SP are very responsive. They truly understand that referrals are the lifeblood of any business and work very hard to keep their clients happy. I really appreciate their service first attitude. I highly recommend SP. Quality work and very responsive! read more

Not a great experience. We are a busy couple who went to them knowing they would charge more than if we were the 'general' ourselves. We also wanted help with the design and realize that costs money too. The problem is they draw up great designs but do a poor job of making sure you understand what is NOT included, as well as refuse to itemize the job in writing like every other contractor in the world. They just plain stay evasive with details on the work and pricing, its part of their sales training I assume. Make sure you demand the price and scope of work In writing before moving forward. See pics for our 'design' they gave us vs. what we received for $33k. We then spent another $12k on irrigation, landscape, and grass. (All of which I thought was included per the drawings.) I don't know if $33k is worth it or not. The work crew that came out and did the driveway were awesome and did really good work. read more

Didn't stand behind product and our driveway looks like crap 12 years later. Pavers have faded all colours over the years so much so you can't even tell differences in colour. The driveway has depressions and looks very much like a low class entry to our million dollar home. These guys are overpriced and don't stand behind their product read more

The salesman who came to estimate my patio was awful and walked out after I told him I didn't think we needed 8 drains in the patio (everyone else recommended 2-3) and told me that his price is the most expensive since they are guaranteed for 25 years...Willy Loman must have been his mentor...he was clearly just sticking to a sales script and I doubt her ever did manual labor in his life. If you are considering Systems Pavers, please read all the one star reviews here and also their Better Business Bureau reviews. I unfortunately didn't do that until after I signed the contract and handed over my deposit. Pure bait and switch. Your ability to cancel the contract and get the deposit back is gone after 3 days. They schedule another meeting after you are locked in and suddenly all the details you discussed were "a miscommunication" and the contact total is increased. I tried my hardest to work with this company since they already took my money, so I reduced the project scope to get back to the contract total we agreed on. However, the change order System Pavers sent back to me was actually increased to a higher amount!! This was all in the span of a couple weeks. Completely unprofessional to swindle customers like this. And reading reviews, I now see I wasn't the only one. The company reps constantly called trying to continue the job, but how can you trust a company when they don't honor agreements and quotes, and if you don't want to accept their cost increases you forfeit your deposit. I was very uncomfortable starting the job with System Pavers so I found another paver company that gave an honest, reasonable quote and completed the job with no surprise cost increases in under two weeks. Please take my advice and shop around to ensure you are working with professional and honest people because you will be looking at the work of your contractor of choice for decades. read more

I have listened to a lot of "Talk Radio" over the years, and have definitely been introduced to the name System Pavers by this means. I never thought that I would be utilizing their services, perhaps because we never thought that we could afford it. And wow, my funky asphalt driveway is Gone! And now replaced with a real beauty which is a true joy to return home to. In fact, while I was rearranging my trash barrels yesterday, an unknown neighbor's SUV pulled up, the window came down, and the female passenger raved about how nice a job you had done! And you did it all in One Day....Bravo!!! And I now know what Mr. Larry Green looks like after hearing him for years. Bruce C. Hopkins Riverside read more

We are happy we decided to go with this company. From the first introduction to Jordan, the gentleman that came out to meet with us and pretty much drew out our vision as we explained what we were looking for. To meeting the Quality Control Trainer, Alex Paez a young, knowledgeable, and very professional young man. He was so helpful, always available to answer all our questions with such a positive attitude. My husband and I were very impressed with this young man and his work ethics. We knew we were in good hands. During the process I had some billing questions. I called in and spoke with, Kim. Kim was very detailed and explained all our options thoroughly. We have home security cameras, so we basically kept an eye on the process. It went well no complaints. We actually decided to buy them lunch as a gratitude gift for all their hard work. In the end we were very pleased and look forward to working with Systems Pavers again. In conclusion we would most definitely recommend System Pavers to our family and friends. read more

If I could I wouldn't even give them one star. The guy came out to the house, gave me a ridicules quote for demolition of my backyard and re-landscaping. This company subs out their work. I presume the "front men" work on commission. The quote was outlandish. For example, he quoted me $18,000. for a alumawood patio cover. I had a larger patio cover installed for $5000.00. They assured me they would be finished with my $65,000.00 project before I left the country for 7 months, they were't. They continued to work on the pavers and turf, they sent me pictures of the completed project, but WAIT! It was photoshopped to show there was NO seam down the middle of my turf...good thing my neighbor sent one that wasn't altered. Now, I am returning home in three weeks and they are suddenly pushing for the rest of the payment, as they say it's completed. I don't trust them, and said I will pay the last $11k when I see that it's finally been done correctly, so they've threatened to put a lien on my house. Great company. NOT. read more

What I liked: - The salesman were very through with their presentation. - Their visual renderings were nice. - Project manager (Sam) was always available for calls/texts and the salesman was available by email and calls. He was always personable and willing to work with me. - They provide you with a lot of information. - The work crew who comes out is completely AWESOME! They work hard and are very courteous! They actually helped my neighbors with the trash cans because they were sorta blocking the way on the first day. These guys went out of their way to make sure my neighbors were the least impacted by my project! - Work crew cleaned up SUPER nice! These guys work super hard and I wish I could have been there to serve them lunch! -Everyone at system pavers was very nice. What I didn't like: - There was not much I didn't like. - When issues arose I was able to get a hold of someone to clear things up and I'm happy about that. - contractual agreement stated that we were to set the pavers at 45 degree angles. I got 90 degree angles instead (but system pavers assured me that this would still be covered by their 25 year warranty). - was suppose to get something in writing about the job that was done but never heard back from anyone. Overall we were happy with our job. The backyard looks great and the drainage works flawlessly so far. The only issue I had was that things were installed a little differently than we contractually agreed upon. System pavers did a great job at clearing things up for me and let me know that anything the work crew did was covered because they collect information in regards to depth of the pavers, take pictures, etc. We are happy with the look of the yard and we are happy that System Pavers will cover our job for 25 years. read more

This review is for free estimate / sales only. The "designer" showed up on time, was very nice, and eager to get the estimate started. While she was doing her measuring, she had us watch a video about the company, testimonials, and what they had to offer us. She took a picture of our yard as it looks now, then downloaded to her computer program to show us what our patio would look like when it was done. This was very nice to see. Now comes the fun part, price. We had 3 prior estimates so we knew what we were in for. Well this one was the absolute highest. When we told her it was too high, she came back with all the offers; free demolition, yard signage, video testimonial, and using our before and after to advertise. Of course we said yes to all, but it still didn't get us down to where we wanted. She then compared their 25 year warranty to the other companies we had spoken to. She also told us that we will get what we pay for, System-Pavers does million dollar contracts, and they won't do the work if there isn't a drain installed. Whoa, wait, what? A drain supposedly run from our patio to the street so there is no standing water. So now we understand why the estimate is so high. All the bells and whistles of a computer program showing us before and after and repair on our property for this drain that needs to be run. In the end, we decided not to sign the contract she so wanted to pressure us into signing since the price was only good for that day. As she put all of her equipment away and continued to build up her company and tell us how wrong we are in not agreeing to the terms, do you think there was a "thank you" or a handshake for our time? Of course not, instead we received a "good luck on whoever installs your pavers." read more

Here's one for the books. Over a year ago I had system pavers put in a beautiful back and side yard with pavers. We didn't have much rain that year but when we did I noticed the water wasn't draining that good. It wasn't until I retired that I had the time to investagate. I found out it wasn't draining the way it should and was thinking it could have been a fitting about 3' away for the drain that maybe wasn't glue or just slipped off. (because of a 45 degree turn it did there) I called system pavers and a guy came out and said I'll get back to you with the price. He called and said it would be $800.00 and I said no thanks (I thought I could fix it in about an hour if that was the problem. He called back later and said if you want it done cheeper he could do it on the side for less. I thought that was a little suspicious so I said no thanks. He called back again and said system pavers could do it for free. Now what am I supposed to think? I said no thanks because it was getting a little weird by now. I went to Home Depot and bought one of those expansion bulb hose attachment for $6.00 and blew the clog out in about 5 minutes. Just thought I should share this story. read more

I recently contracted System Pavers to redo do my front sidewalk, front porch, and back yard. I can not say enough about the final result and the process throughout. I had a little trouble with the original meeting getting the salesman to understand how I like to think out my home projects and how I need process things when I do business. After a bad first expression, he asked if he could have another chance. I am glad I gave it to him. The second time we met it went the way I needed it to go and I was in charge and not rushed. The salesman Charlie spent the needed time to make me feel secure in the product and investment I was making. The web site was very interactive and easy to understand after I signed my contract. My construction manager was Wade. He communicated with me daily. He took all my concerns and addressed them with the construction team. The workmen were great! They cleaned up everything and were very careful not to cause any damage to my stucco siding or plants. Every issue I had they addressed before they left the worksite and had me sign off. The best part was being able to use credit card to get the bonus miles. I am hoping I do not need the 25 year warranty but glad I have it that is another reason I chose them over local contractor. They left me plenty of extra pavers in case of any future damage so they will match perfectly. Of course I wish it wasn't as expensive but the local contractors quoted me the same price for concrete only, so I felt I got a much better value going with them and doing pavers. My neighbors are all jealous of my yard now! read more

I was very impressed with this company to start, their response time and customer service was great. I believe it was Randy that came out to my home. He took his time to speak with me, hear my requests and was very patient and friendly. He took pictures of my backyard, took measurements and I even allowed that he take photos of the blue prints for my upcoming addition to show the space he would have to work with. Well that was in August and the last time I spoke with him. I've called the company and left at least 4 messages for Randy and spoken with two different women that said they would make sure he called me back. It's very unfortunate to do business in that way. I was looking forward to have a design put together from this company as it seems as they do good work. But I will not be doing any with them. Update as of 10/23/20: To Trinity's message. Outstanding Customers Service even after the sale. As a US Marine and Firefighter I know a thing or two about great service. My original project installation was completed in February 2016. I had a few small items over the last couple of years that I just did not seem to find the time to address. I contacted System Pavers for and they responded quickly. Manager Daniel contacted me, understood my concerns and arrived on time to take a look. His install crew lead by Jonathan arrive on the scheduled date, were professional, kept me informed and cleaned up after they were done. Manager Daniel even stopped by to check in on the repair items. The day after a small problem development again and Daniel personally came by and took the time to resolve the issue himself. This company is absolutely the best! They are incredibly professional and always stand by their products. They don't just come to your house and give you a quick quote that they are then going to increase later when they start the job, like most companies and contractors. They go through a presentation that shows you exactly how they are going to do the job and back up their work with warranties and performance bonds. So you know exactly what how they're going to do it and why. They make you feel like you are part of the entire project and are always on your side. We contracted with System Pavers in August of 2020 for a project that included pavers, artificial grass, and up lights. We were very happy with the results and continue to be happy today. We recently experienced an issue with the up lights. We lost the Bluetooth connection to the controller and could not get it back. I called System Pavers to see if they could help. I was pleasantly surprised to find that Steve Whittaker, the Sales Manager for my 2020 project was still there, and he promptly scheduled a service request. Oscar Gallardo came to my house and within 15 minutes fixed the issue. He replaced my controller with a new model, set me up with a new iPhone app, and made sure it fixed the issue. I asked him how much I owe, and I was shocked to hear there was no charge. Having been a superintendent for a world wide building Contractor Skanska USA. I would be embarrassed to have these people as a subcontractor. They have constantly and consistently underperformed. They are non communicative and EXPENSIVE. I don't normally post reviews or leave comments on Yelp. However my experience with System Pavers was so positive I felt it necessary to pass along so that others may benefit. I've done many home improvement projects over my lifetime and I've never had such a remarkable experience. While I'm sure the entire System Pavers organization is outstanding, my experience with Lorinc Szasz and Nestor Fierro and the entire team on my project was unparalleled to anything I've ever experienced in construction management. No matter what type of outdoor work you're planning I highly recommend you get an estimate from System Pavers. They do it all. The quality of work is exceptional and the customer service is outstanding. While you'd think an established organization like System Pavers would be more costly than smaller contractors, I found they were the most competitive in terms of pricing. My project involved grading, landscaping, irrigation, pavers, and hardscape. I obtained multiple estimates and they were among the lowest priced. My sales representative was Lorinc Szasz and my project manager was Nestor Fierro. Ask for them. They were responsive, honest and committed to ensuring you're happy with the finished project. I've done many projects over my lifetime and have never had such a positive experience as I did with System Pavers. read more

We had ugly pink hardscape and a dirt pit for a backyard and the kids kept getting hurt or just insanely dirty and tracking that back into the house, so we decided it was time to redo it. We called System Pavers and they had a designer out the next day. Brian was fantastic. Listened to us closely and helped us design our backyard. We got the quote, felt it was reasonable and moved forward. The crew was fantastic! Our foreman was super communicative through the whole process and we knew what was going on every step of the way. They ran into some snags because our old hardscape was rebar reinforced (YIKES!) and because of our skinny side yard everything had to be done by hand (they couldn't get a loader back there). Despite the snags, they were fast and efficient and the end result was fantastic!! The kids are living in the backyard now and my wife is very happy - so a win all around! We did pay for lighting which hasn't come through yet because the lights we wanted were back-ordered, but I'm confident it will be just as good as the rest. Would definitely recommend these guys! read more

Crooks, Crooks, crooks. They hard sell, up sell and don't deliver. Shoddy work. Steer clear. Driveway started to fail 2 months after finally finished. read more

I've just finished my second project with this company so for potential customers, this is how a System Pavers' project evolves. A sales rep comes out and listens to your goals and then completes a rough diagram of your design. That rep then ballparks the costs and gives you a rather inflated project estimate. Be smart and challenge the estimate and you will save money. Once you hit a wall with your bartering, you can either afford the final estimate or you can't. As far as the sales pitch for the warranty goes, these are manufactured pavers being placed in compacted sand. During their lifetime they will be baked in sun, they will be saturated with water, they will be subjected to ground shifting, they can be stained with oil particularly in a driveway, and even nearby root growth from landscape foliage can cause pavers to shift. System Pavers will not run out to your home and fix these problems for free, no more than a concrete company will come out and replace your new driveway when it eventually cracks or get's oil stains on it. Regardless of what your sales rep tells you, you are not paying for an excellent warranty because the warranty doesn't really cover much at all. What you are paying for are a lot of salaries and corporate overhead. They're simply not a mom and pop operation. After your sales rep leaves, you get a project manager who works directly for System Pavers. I was lucky enough to get Wade C. (give him a raise) for both of my projects. After your contract is signed and you make a deposit, the project manager comes out and looks at your project. He is much more in tune with the installation process than your salesman and will help you make design modifications if needed, and he'll walk you through project prep procedures you need to complete before the installation team shows up. The actual installation team consists of contracted paver installers and they have their own boss. What you should have at that point is the advice and oversite of three professional paver installers; the sales rep, the SP project manager, and the contractor leading his team; use them! If you understand and make it clear you expect they are all working for you at that point, your installation will likely be completed as expected in a timely manner. But you have to pay attention to what they are doing as they do it. If you don't like something, insist it be changed immediately before it results in a time consuming and unnecessary adjustment. If any members of the installation team appear to not be enthused with your input, alert the project manager and allow him to do his job, particularly if there is a language barrier. I had a great installation team leader working with Wade C. for my second project and they made fluid adjustments to my project that actually made it much better than my original design. But it wouldn't have happened if I hadn't paid attention to what was going on and refrained from offering input as the pavers were being installed. My first project had contracted installers who were not as receptive to my input, but by using the project manager to actually manage those issues, things got back on track very quickly. Both of my projects started on time and were completed on time. Even after my project was signed off, we discovered a small area that needed adjustment and it was fixed in just a few days. I'd certainly recommend these guys, but you have to be realistic about the product you are purchasing, take care of it with sealer and limit hazard exposure, and have the spine to be clear what YOUR expectations are as the project proceeds. Believe me, System Pavers wants you to be happy and feel like you got what you paid for. That's the only way to stay in business. I noted some negative reviews mention poor installations. I know that my project manager had me sign-off on both of my projects before they were considered completed. So my advice to future clients would be to not pay for your project up front just because you can, and don't sign-off on a project until you've gotten exactly what you believe you paid for. These guys bent over backwards to meet my expectations and I'm not an easy client. read more

Update: One of the lights went out the day before Christmas eve. We sent a text to Cory who was our project manager just to let him know so it can get fixed whenever he had a chance. He came out ON CHRISTMAS EVE to replace the bulb. That is the amazing customer service you receive. We didn't ask him to come right away at all as it's just one light and it could have waited until after the holidays. But he came out right away and tried to fix the problem. Unfortunately, it was the whole piece that had to be replaced and just replacing the bulb didn't fix the situation for more than a day. He had to order a new one and that took a little bit to arrive, but no big deal. Once it arrived, they installed it not long after. Now all our lights are working again. Yay. The work crew was excellent. Showed up on time and respectful of our neighbors with node and materials. They also had some good ideas which improved the project. I like the fact they are subs to SP and must perform on every job of they are going to be retained. When all was said and done they may be the most expensive but someone must be. We are very satisfied with every aspect and very happy with our selection. read more
