Syrup locations in Aurora & St Charles. Is nice airy spacious clean always busy. Wait time can be a little long. But I can understand because they're always crowded. Both locations seem to be pretty good at and being fair and balanced with good customer service to. It's a little pricey for breakfast & brunch. There is a good side to that. You do get a large quantity of food. I've taken friends a couple times and they really love Syrup. I think it has something to do with them being individuals with more than one sweet tooth. read more

I recently tried Syrup for the first time this past week with a friend, and it was so good that I went back the very next day with my family. I couldn't stop talking about how good the food & service was, as well as how cute it is inside! Both times I went, we didn't have to wait long to be seated, and the food came out pretty fast. If there is anything on the menu I'd highly recommend, it would be their Cinnamon Swirl pancakes. Best pancakes I've ever had, and I'm not even big on pancakes. We have been wanting to go here for a while and finally came. Portion sizes were a medium to large. I got the Nashville Hot chicken sandwich. It was the same chicken they used for all other entrees but smothered with buffalo sauce. Soft bun and really juicy chicken. Waffle fries were seasoned well. I would get it again. My fiance got the chicken and waffles. He didn't like the breading on the chicken but I had the same chicken breast and loved it. Waffles had the perfect texture but he said the only reason we should give a 4 and not a 5 is because it comes with a small little container of syrup and you shouldn't have to keep asking for more syrup in a restaurant called Syrup. My sisters and I tried this place for brunch and we loved it! They have so much seating inside, and we only waited about 20 minutes to be seated (early Saturday morning). My sister had a Limosa and I had a Limeade, both were great! To eat, I ordered the Nova Benedict, which comes with seasoned potatoes. My sister had the Mini Waffle Flight, and my other sister had a Ream's Burger, which comes with waffle fries. We also shared a side of Ham off-the-bone. This was suppose to be a quick stop for breakfast, as we were heading towards a farm nearby. We walked in and the way it was about 45 minutes on a Sunday morning, so we decided to sit at the bar. Luckily there were two chairs open and we were able to get seated immediately and order our meals. We started with coffee and strawberry orange juice and ordered Mediterranean omelette and the legendary breakfast. I didn't get a chance to take more pictures as we started to devour the food. This place is so good that we came here for breakfast both mornings we were in Chicago! Omer was our waiter the first morning and Tara waited on us the second, both were extremely nice and helpful. The food was amazing!! We shared the salmon Benedict and the Maui French toast day one and the second day we had the cluck cluck skillet and Maui French toast again. Personally, I think the salmon Benedict and the French toast are to die for! We even got another order of the French toast to go. Their drinks are really tasty as well. I'd give this place 3.5/5 stars. It's pretty decent when it comes to prices and sizes. I do feel like this place is just an ordinary breakfast place and the food options are pretty basic. Both my friend and I's order weren't nothing crazy and something we could make at home. I would come back though and try more what's on their menu. On our visit Sunday 8/7 The food was good, service ok. The restrooms continue to be bad. The permanent soap dispenser was empty and the store bought soap dispenser was empty to the point where patrons took it apart to scavenge the remaining soap from it and left it on the lavatory. The garbage can was full to the point where used paper towels had spilled out on to the floor. The place was packed with soccer teams fresh from their games. Our server, Ali, was a rock star. She was waiting on a large group of less than well behaved young soccer players and their parents. The boys made a huge mess and were causing chaos. Ali, was unflappable. She still managed to be upbeat and friendly, despite dealing with a team that needed a few lessons in manners. I was actually the first guest in their door this morning on opening day. They had a friends and family soft opening yesterday. They did a beautiful job on the remodel of the former Colonial Cafe. A bit of sticker shock but the food is high quality. A little hiccup this morning, my eggs, potatoes and sausage patties were served at room temperature. Jimmi was our waitress and she was professional, efficient and extremely personable . My husband and I had the delicious Legendary Breakfasts with their very crispy home fried potatoes. The fluffy, buttermilk pancakes came with my meal, while my husband had toast. Our guest had the smoked salmon bagel and said it was plentiful and delicious- good bagel, too. We added an order of plain French toast for the table-enough for the three of us to have a piece. Great, extremely fresh OJ, worth the $5 price- nice portion. My friend raved about the white, cream cheese syrup. They told us there was a 25 minute wait at 9 am on a Sunday, summer day, but it was only 10 minutes (plus it was nicely air conditioned with plenty of chairs in the waiting area). Plenty of parking. The total was $75 plus tip for three (plenty of potatoes in our doggy box). No issue receiving free ice tea refills and nice, steaming hot drip coffee (took a bit of time to get refills). We came from downtown Chicago since we picked up our friend at her house in Aurora and it was so good, we probably would come again without her when we feel like a nice, scenic drive.
