Terrible. Go elsewhere or you'll be sorry! I was in the area early one morning with my mom and sister so we decided to go for breakfast. I wanted to go to Cracker Barrel, but my sister wanted to try something new so we ended up at this restaurant. There was only one other patron eating when we arrived. Looking back, that should have been our first clue that this wasn't the place to be. Our server/hostess was nice but she literally only took order and brought us our food. I opted for the hash browns, turkey bacon, scrambled eggs and toast. First off, the toast was Texas Toast which was odd... it was much too thick, but it didn't matter because it was burnt. They also didn't put butter on it right when it came out of the toaster so it was dry and cold upon arrival to the table. The hash browns had no flavor, but the ketchup and salt/pepper helped make them edible. The eggs were okay as well, but the turkey bacon was gross. It tasted like rubber. I have no idea what brand it was, but it was obviously some cheap off brand. The orange juice was so bitter that I had to exchange it was apple juice. My mom had hash browns, eggs, sausage and pancakes. She didn't care for her food much either. My sister had the corned beef hash, eggs, hash browns, and toast. She loved the corned beef hash and thought everything else was okay. Ultimately, she agreed that we should have gone elsewhere. The restaurant was clean and quiet except for the noise from the television. The bill was about $50 for the three of us. The quality of the food is obviously lower tier. IHOP would've been a better choice and that's not even a place I'd ever even consider visiting. read more

If I could give it a zero star I would. It was amazing once upon a time. My go to place for breakfast around the area, last few months I feel like they changed the cook and staff. Food is not great, over priced and the service is horrible. I saw one of the owners daughters toss a high chair to a family member. They didn't let an older man sit on a booth bc they had just cleaned it and didn't wanna clean again. The Pepsi products arent even carbonated . Such a disappointment considering this has been around for years. read more

Went there this AM. Notice that my bill for my meal was 8,37 (before tax). I asked about the wierd price and pointed out it was more than the menu. I was told that they gave a cash discount that would lower the price to the menu price, but the computer automatically raised the price for all customers. So I had to ask for a discount. Been going here for the better part of ten years. Always been my favorite breakfast place. I have to say the level of service I got today was disappointing. I don't know why. I always just order my food eat most of it, tip pay and leave. But today everyone in the restaurant was taken care of except me. Food was great! But the restaurant wasn't busy at the time I entered. I had to wait awhile for a seat. No big deal until you see everyone else being seated almost immediately. I had to wait for a menu. No one else did. I never got a coffee refill. I wasn't asked how my food was until a fly-by when I was almost done. Meanwhile the six other tables are being revisited often. I've never been in before today and don't feel the urge to return. My server dropped off my food and disappeared, place not very busy. My food came out luke warm, perhaps it sat in the window? A bit of a disappointment and my server's only comment was, "I'll let them know." I was shocked the host didn't bother apologizing when I meantioned, as I was paying. Stopped in today for breakfast and was pleasantly surprised! This place doesn't really look like a winner from the outside appearances but you shouldn't judge a book by its cover. Service was quick and attentive. I ordered the chorizo skillet- mmmmm! The only thing that could've made it better was a bit of fresh avocado. Huge portion- I took half of it home for lunch :) My husband had the eggs, bacon, and biscuits/gravy. Once again, large portions! The menu is pretty cool. There's a lot of different breakfast options and also American/Mexican foods. Plus skillets! I got the Steak Chipotle Skillet and it was really good. The steak surprised me because it was juicy, soft and tasty. The hash browns were kind of greasy and not that crispy. If I go back next time I would ask for crispy hash browns. Food wasn't bad! I would go again. The waiter though was stand-off ish to me and my boyfriend when we came. We could tell she wasn't happy, which was funny because it was super slow when we came in. Breakfast at Aurora Pancake House is a-okay! We live nearby and wanted breakfast prior to running errands. We were seated immediately on a Sunday, just after the breakfast rush. Service was good, they kept our coffee topped off, took our order and delivered food to the table promptly. The menu is typical diner breakfast food: pancakes, omelets, waffles, skillets, and there are several lunch items too. I ordered chocolate chip pancakes, which were a HUGE stack of 6 pancakes so I felt pretty gluttonous when I rolled (almost literally) out of here. There are chilaquiles on the menu, which takes shape in many forms at the Aurora Pancake House. You can have chilaquiles. Or a chilaquiles omelet. Or a chilaquiles skillet. Or...you get the picture. It appears that the restaurant is run by a Hispanic family, so I can't call this a "Greek" diner, but the menu is reflective of that, with a Latin twist here and there. Decor is outdated, but the restaurant is clean. Prices are fair, and they regularly include BOGO entree coupons in those little money mailers. read more

We just ate here yesterday afternoon on Easter Sunday. I'm pretty excited to review this Aurora landmark, so let's get right to it. I remember eating here as a young child a few times. Only vaguely, but clearly enough to be reminded as we walked up to the door and through to the rear of the restaurant. Not a lot has changed, if memory serves me, but that's not to say that the inside hasn't been relatively kept up. The outside of the building shows its age, for sure, but inside you'll find a clean and fresh enough dining area. You'll also likely notice that there is plenty of room for quite a crowd of diners, but the wait staff keeps up with it all very well. I ordered the Ranchero omelette, a 3 egg omelette filled with refried beans, creamy mozzarella, topped with fresh salsa, and added chorizo at my own request. The plate was completed by piling as much hash browns as would fit and 2 toreados, again at my request. My last special request was a "Diablo Sauce" that I noticed came with one of their burgers. The bright orangish red spicy homemade condiment finished it off perfectly. Reminiscent of an omelette by the same name at Riverview Diner, this dish didn't disappoint. My wife had the San Diego sunrise, a steak patty topped with a kind of pseudo egg benedict and a "chipotle hollandaise" sauce. It also came with 3 or 4 potato pancakes. She thought it was fantastic, and I agreed. The waitstaff we encountered (3 or 4 in total) were all very nice, helpful, and rounded off the experience in a good way. The menu at "APH" is extensive, with breakfast, lunch, and dinner options for nearly every taste. You'd spend a lifetime trying everything. They even have things not included on their menu, as found on the rolodex type carrier found on the table. Now, all of this brings me to my one complaint. Why do you have to close so early? We certainly would have eaten here a multitude of times before if it weren't for their early closing hours (3pm every day except 4pm Sundays) I understand that they may have good reason, but I have good reason to want to eat here after work during the week, or Saturday night, or ANY night! I hope they reconsider this option, but I also hope everyone considers this such a great option for breakfast, lunch, or brunch if they can make it before the doors close. I can't say enough about APH, and I hope they're around another 50 years! read more

Best chilaquiles north of the border!! My husband and I have been here a few times and never disappointed. Their chilaquiles are the best!! If you don't know what that is, it's basically an omelette with mozzarella cheese, tortilla strips (they are baked in so they are soft) and a tasty mildly spicy sauce on the inside. So good. I have insisted we come back just so I can get this! My husband got the chipotle skillet which was good too. Have also gotten the pancakes, patty melt and apple pie. All good. Good prices and nice service- the owners are even great and always there working. I will continue returning! read more

Unfortunately, though, she did end up mixing up our orders and sides....It also took a very long time to actually get our food. Food/Drink - Coffee was terrible, as if they used simple green in their cleaning and didnt quite rinse off enough to get rid of the taste. We both had omelettes, which were at best mediocre, and the hash browns (American fries) had literally no flavor. The pancakes were what you would typically expect from any pancake house. Everytime I go in to the aurora Pancake House, I tell myself I'm going to try something new for breakfast- then I order the country fried steak with scrambled eggs, biscuits and gravy, with hash browns. Cup of coffee. Its about a 5 minute walk from my home- Thank you, God! When I take out of town guests there, family or go alone, time moves by slower. I sit back and enjoy every meal. And... Its very affordable. The place isn't fancy, but its clean and large inside so you don't have to wait long for a seat. Simple. Humble. Affordable. Filling and tasty. Im currently in South Africa, but I can't wait til I get home next week to stop by. Family owned and operated. Maybe next time, I'll try the pizza omelet? Nope! I was brought water immediately and I looked over the menu. The server brought me coffee and took my little ones order for a beverage. Well, we waited a long time for him to bring over her OJ. The place got busy as we were there and I only saw two people taking orders. He finally brings her drink and I place my order, a Denver Skillet, eggs over easy, with ham, green peppers, cheese and onions. I get an order of pancakes. I can't say that my food was bad but it wasn't great. The eggs were huge, double yolks, and it was a nice size portion. However, the skillet barely had ham cubes and hardly any cheese. It was mostly all potatoes, some pieces were so burnt that they were too crunchy to bite. The flavor was OK. I liked that my coffee was always refilled but I waited too long to get the server to get me my check. He was busy, I understand that, but I was ready to go. This place was very busy for a Monday morning and my only guess is that it's the only breakfast joint in the area. Not sure this place is worth coming back to.
