This is your average diner with average diner food. I've been here for breakfast and lunch. I can't say that the food is bad because it's not. It's just average. I had a skillet with eggs and it was ok and I've had their burgers and it was ok. Service is always consistent, the servers are attentive and always friendly. I was intrigued to try them because on any given Sunday morning the wait to be seated is very long!! I think this is one of the only diners in the immediate area but if you're willing to drive a bit further there are abetted places for breakfast. read more

Formerly, one of our favorites. Currently, thumbs down times 2. Ordered dinners. My twice baked potato was cold inside. The wife had half her fries still partially frozen. Rookie server was very embarrassed and apologetic. I told her, not her fault, it's the incompetence in the kitchen. Told the money taker upon leaving. Got the typical gee whiz, that's unusual, so sorry. Needless to say, we will never dine here again and spend this kind of money for this inexcusable nonsense. This wasn't my first time at Sunfields but very well might be my last. From the initial greeting (or lack of a greeting better put) all the way until the very end--our experience was sprinkled with constant distaste no pun intended. After a brief wait I was finally greeted by an assumption that I was there to pick up an order and not in the most pleasant fashion. I was not there to pick up anything and I should have at this point just left. It took 10 minutes to get an order of chocolate milk in a not very busy restaurant and a glass of water that wasn't refilled throughout our entire time there. Mistakes happen and we understand that so when there was a hair in my corned beef hash omelette I simply asked to return it. As I waited for it to be remade I had some of my wife's biscuits and gravy, hash browns, and bacon ... everything tasted similar and disappointing. Once my "fresh" food arrived it had the same bland taste of my wife's food. I do not know if they use liquid eggs but that's what the omelette tasted like-- almost as if they were poured from a carton. We still have this bad taste in our mouths lingering. I've never known this place to be a bad restaurant and I still don't think it's fair to categorize them there at this time but it seems like they are on their way. I stopped in one afternoon to a dining room filled with people. I wanted Fried Baby Beef Liver. I asked my waitress I if it was a good choice and she informed me she gets a lot of orders for it. Reluctantly I ordered it. After my salad and rolls out came my liver. Whoa let me tell you my waitress spoke the truth. It was huge pieces of liver and very tender and mouth watering. It was some of the best I have ever had. My waitress continually stopped by to ask if I needed anything else. She was attentive and so professional. I live about 15 miles away and plan to go back again. With the great service and delicious food I would recommend them any day. The prices we're reasonable and comparable to lesser rated restaurants. This is a family favorite. The atmosphere is comfortable, the menus have a great variety, and it never feels hectic or busy, even when there's lots of people there. Service is polite and friendly, present enough to take timely care of our needs, but not hovering too much or going missing for too long. The food has been really consistent here, and delicious. We've tried sandwiches, burgers, breakfast items, and more, and nothing has been disappointing. Their Reuben sandwich is my favorite, with a cup of their chicken noodle soup. They've got a good drink selection, too, with soft drinks and juices in addition to beer, wine, and cocktails. This restaurant is a gem, and it's affordable! First time eating here was a disaster. Kids food came out burnt. I ordered coffee which came out old and cold. I ordered turkey and dressing and couldn't get through one bite. I then ordered a salad with no tomato no onion which was promptly delivered covered in you guessed it, tomato and onion. Food is not fresh but frozen and bland. We had a terribly dry pork chop with a side of obviously canned vegetables. The only saving grace of this entree was that the pork chop had a good flavor to it if only it wasn't as dry as the Sahara. The second entree we ordered was the Spinach Pie. The pie itself had a weird flavor to it that wasn't enjoyable. It came with a side of, you guessed it, CANNED fruit cocktail and cottage cheese. Only a one because the server was fabulous. Otherwise, a huge disappointment!! We held our church event there and had it planned for 3 months. When we booked we told them at most, we would have 20 and would let them know as the time got closer. We call a week before to let them know about 15 and the day before to confirm 16. They said everything was set. We also were of the understanding that if the restaurant was too busy they might need to seat people in the room. There was a possibility, the room wouldn't have been private which we were fine with considering our party was not big. However, at the end of the event, we were denied our $50 down payment because they said we needed 25 people. If you use them, I would get everything in writing. Been going to Sunfield for years. It is definitely had a recent decline. The waitress tonight was explaining to her friends as they dined how she was going to edit the bill for them, defrauding the restaurant and dropping "F bombs" like commas as we sat there with our grandson. Food was mediocre. She said "soup guy" Took an order for things they were out of.. Service was not good. My husband had to go himself to get napkins.. just basics. Sad to see, as it's one of the local icons. I hope they come back to the standard they once were. I understand with the pandemic things are hard. Owner is extremely rude, I reserved the party room for my daughters baby shower I was told I could go in early to set up when I called the day of the shower. He got on the phone and said that he has people in there and he can't kick them out understandably , but if you have a party coming in there for a baby shower, you should not be seating people an hour before the event. Once we got there at 11:45 the room was filthy. I had to go find someone to start serving us that wasn't until 1245. The waitress was extremely good, but she served food and she was out of there. Then some lady walks in there at 1:45 and says you have to be out of here by 2:30. We have another party coming in here mind you they did not even take our order till 1245 and that wasn't everybody's order. She was done taking orders about 110 never did they come and clean up the plates off the table one of the guest had a napkin in her salad. She told the waitress she said oh I'm sorry and just walked away. Mind you I did pay for that never got an itemized bill. I just wanted to get out of there. Just kind of...meh. I'll start with my favorite part: the bread basket. SO good. Super fresh bread, the raisin bread was so good we didn't think to take a picture until after we ate both pieces. I was hopeful it was going to be the same bread that came as toast with my omelet, but it was not. That was basic standard sara lee toast. Everyone was nice, place is huge and it was clean. It wasn't busy at all but two of our 4 meals we ordered were wrong when they arrived. Decent diner food, not particularly good or bad. Omelet was really small, hash browns were flavorless frozen hash browns and greasy. I'm told the pork sausages were the same ones as ihop serves (per the meat eaters at the table). I've never been here but wanted to share an experience I just had... I politely called and asked if there was a menu I could view online. The website is no longer working/active and their Facebook page doesn't even list the menu. I was, very abruptly and condescendingly told if I want a menu I have to go in and pick one up? I'm all for supporting small businesses, but this seems very antiquated to me. How are you supposed to attract new customers? I'm not driving 30 minutes just to pickup a menu. I really wish they were more present online and had more friendly staff. I've had restaurants in much small towns that weren't online email me their menu or at least post it on Facebook if it wasn't already available. read more
