Back of the menu is pretty cool looking!
Mark E.

Came in around 5:30 PM and grabbed a patio table, we were seated within 10 minutes, no issue. The place was maybe a third full, surprisingly quiet for a Saturday evening. That's where things started to slip. Drinks took about 15 minutes. Apps? Another 20. Then we ordered our mains: a "You're the one for me, Fatty!" burger and a cheesesteak. Those took over an hour... To their credit, the food itself was solid. Burger looked like the photos, tasted great. Fries were crispy and well-seasoned. No complaints there. But the wait? Completely unreasonable--especially with no explanation or apology. Everyone on the patio seemed stuck in the same delay, then suddenly food started coming out in waves like a switch flipped. Felt like a kitchen issue, but no communication from staff made it worse. We finished up and ordered a milkshake to share. It came out fast--almost too fast. The cake on top was stale and rock hard, basically inedible, and the shake tasted like plain vanilla instead of Biscoff. For $16, that's just not acceptable. Our server did comp the shake and gave us a voucher for a future visit, which I appreciate, but it doesn't undo the experience. Overall, this trip was very disappointing, especially for my girlfriend's first visit. I've been coming here for years, so it's frustrating to see the drop-off. Hoping this was just an off night, but this one missed the mark.

What a cool spot! Great environment. Great food. Great service. Needless to say, Crusade Burger Bar is a must visit in Yorkville! We came on a Saturday night and it was pretty busy so if you can make reservations that could save you some time. If you end up waiting, there is a cool game room with pinball, pac mac, and other games which is pretty neat! It was too cold when we went but there also looks to be a nice patio out back for when the weather warms up. Parking can be tough though FYI! Our waitress was Candy and she was excellent! She provided great recommendations and was on top of taking our order, drink refills, and checking up without it feeling pushy or rushed. We started with cheese curds which were crisp and fluffy. For my meal I tried the brisket mac and cheese which hit the spot. The portion was generous and it came with the perfect ratio of mac and cheese to brisket. The side of garlic toast was also crispy and was perfect for wiping up all the extra cheese sauce. We didn't partake in any of the epic milkshakes this time but we did get a regular cookies and cream shake which was the perfect way to round out the meal.

The Hangover

Came on a Saturday at noon and was able to find parking in the small spot next to the restaurant . There is additional parking but on the other side of the tracks. Also, there was no waiting and was seated right away. We didn't try their appetizers since we had planned to get their milkshake. I had the Fox Republic burger cooked medium. Came with mushrooms, onions, and Swiss cheese. Didn't realize at the time but it wasn't like the photo shown on their website, which had arugula and aioli sauce. Burger was decent but since it was missing some ingredients it just seemed pretty regular and not really worth $18. Had a side of Caesar salad, which had lots of dressing. My friend had the Hangover. Was huge and had a fried egg with yolk running all over after one bite. Had bacon, cheese, and hash browns. Ended with The Cereal Killer milkshake. This was very delicious. We did take it apart to get to the fruity pebble strawberry milkshake. The vanilla cupcake was my favorite. So soft and had a light whipped cream. The waffle was cold and hard to eat. The Donut holes were good.

If rock 'n' roll and a burger had a baby, it would be Crusade Burger in Yorkville. First off, parking is a breeze -- there's plenty of it on the side and in the back, which already makes this place a unicorn in the dining world. Walk in, and it's like stepping into a Halloween-themed concert where Jack Skellington and Metallica decided to co-manage. Werewolves, skulls, neon, and classic rock vibes -- 10/10 atmosphere for anyone who loves good food with a side of spooky flair. They've also got a whole game room full of old-school arcade machines -- think, Pac-Man, and other pixelated nostalgia. There's even a quarter machine, because who carries change anymore? Most games are only 25¢ to $1, which means you can work off that burger one joystick wiggle at a time. Now, onto the food -- holy cow (literally). Every burger we ordered was delectable, juicy, and perfectly cooked -- worth every bit of the $18 price tag. Someone at our table went rogue and ordered butter noodles (we all judged them at first), but turns out... those were also delectable. And the shakes? Oh, the shakes. These aren't your average milkshakes -- these are monsters in a glass. We tried the Me Want Cookie and Cereal Killer -- all $16 each, and all absurdly good. Think dessert, drink, and sugar rush all rolled into one. They even have monthly specials that change with the season -- slightly pricier but totally Instagram-worthy and over-the-top festive. In short: Atmosphere = Rock concert meets haunted house Food = Flawless Game room = Pure nostalgia Shakes = Unhinged in the best way Staff = Awesome humans Would 100% crusade again.

This place has been on my list to try for awhile and finally made it out to Yorkville. My husband and I split an order of the goat cheese which was served with slices of texas toast. We split the abomination burger and it was delicious. I love goat cheese on a burger. Fries were a little plain. Didn't try any of the epic looking milkshakes on this visit, but pictures look great. Service was friendly and fast.

Incredibly delicious

So came with my wife for dinner date, this place was recommended by family and it didn't disappoint. The food was very delicious, loved the pinball games here and stranger things decor was a nice touch now the final season is out. To be honest the star of the show was dessert all I can say is amazing and can't wait to come back. The best part is this experience here made up for salem

This is a small town area, so there's not many choices to dine. From outside, I thought this was a small diner, but when you walk in, it's actually a large restaurant that extends to the back of the building. They have pinball machines and some cool artwork on the walls. The burgers are huge, so we decided to split the meal. The burger was great, cooked well and not greasy. We also ordered the goat cheese appetizer. Our waiter was covering multiple tables, but was very friendly and checked on us often. The prices were very reasonable. We had a good time.

Went here middle of the day on Sunday with two others. For a burger joint their burgers are okay...which is why I give them 3 stars. The types of burgers you can get are fun and there is a variety. Of course you can build your own burger to get anything any everything you want. The beer it self is dry and was slightly overcooked. There was not a mouthwatering deliciousness from it. The go to move here is the amazing desert milkshakes. They are so fun and very large. I shared one with all 3 of us! Worth it The service was nice and friendly. The ambiance is of Halloween/spooky season decor. Playful skeletons, skulls, bats, etc all around. This would be such a fun vibe in the fall/October.

Nachos with beef

Came for lunch on a weekday. The place Was empty! The nachos were good, we got the half size which was the perfect size for two people. Then we shared a burger with beers. Biggest selection of beers we've seen in a long time.

Ask the Community - Crusade Burger Bar

Do they offer a gluten free bun option for burgers?

When I was there they did have that option.

Are there kids menu's?

Yes!

How do you make reservations through yelp?

There are no reservations. First come first served. However you may add yourself to the virtual waitlist that you will see if you scroll down on the page. If there is no current wait you will not be able to do this. Note before dinner hours this can…

Can you order to go since the wait is so long?

The wait staff doesn't prioritize those who stay and eat. Expect a long wait for a burger and high priced draft brew.

Why so long? And again no acknowledgement of the plastic.. couldnt get myself to drink anything else with worry of contamination of the ice box. Order the california chicken sandwich and brussel sprouts. My mother had the smash burger. She seemed to enjoy it though both sandwiches were stacked super tall and mine had two huge thick red o ions on it. A bit overpowering but mine was good after that was removed. Brussel sprouts were significantly salty. Wasnt able to get through them. My mom got the fries and tho were standard. She also got a bloody mary. It was alright she seemed to enjoy it. Waitress was a little sarcastic with us for no reason and the plastic and just overall service was unfortunate. It was enough to leave a bad taste in my mouth and I dont plan to return.

It's got the rear one, which takes you through the gaming area before the main part. The front entrance was for some reason locked, even though the bar was open at that time. Anyway, they have about what's expected. It's about $7 for a basic cocktail, like with whiskey. Food is a pretty meaty thing with the burgers. They have shit tons of these. It's about $10 for their fries, which come loaded with toppings in baskets. We got a basket of the Sriracha Fries, which are topped with garlic Parmesan which we left off, along with hoisin sauce, jalapeños, onions, red pepper, and sriracha. Filling. These were enough to make a meal to be honest. Got to say it was better than expected. It's located on Bridge Street, amongst the older buildings around here. Those wanting meaty things can get burgers, while those not can get fries or whatever.
