I can't believe my review was done in 2021. Well, as an update, it's now almost 5 years later and my wife still visit Grandma's Table whenever we're in the area or those times we need that home cooking fix. The food continues (for our taste) to be outstanding and IMO the chicken fried steak is the best in the area both for taste and value. We still recommend a stop to have a satisfying meal. Baby, the second I walked through those doors, I felt like I had just been invited over to Grandma's house for Sunday dinner. The warm atmosphere, the cozy décor...it wasn't just a restaurant, it was a hug with a menu. Now let me give Miss Dee her flowers because she absolutely earned them. She was attentive, patient, and so kind. The menu was HUGE, I mean, enough options to have me questioning every life decision I'd ever made, and she happily helped us narrow it down without making us feel rushed. We love a server who knows her stuff. Honestly, I'm surprised this place wasn't packed wall to wall because the service, atmosphere, and food deserved a full house. Can we PLEASE talk about that ranch? Somebody's grandma has to be back there guarding the recipe because there is no way that came out of a bottle. Every bite was a little flavor explosion that had me dunking everything I could find. Then came the cream of chicken and rice soup. Whew. They didn't bring me a cup, they brought me what felt like a warm hug in a bowl. Rich, comforting, and so nostalgic it had me wondering if my grandma had secretly been hired in the kitchen. And the portions? Oh, baby...come hungry. Matter of fact, skip breakfast, cancel lunch, and maybe do a little stretch beforehand because they are FEEDING people here. I don't think I've ever been that full in my life, and somehow I was still trying to figure out if I had room for one more bite. I've been to Grandma's Table twice in the past couple of weeks. Once for dinner and once breakfast. It is a nice family diner style restaurant. It is a bit unique in that they also have a bar. The staff were very nice both times I was there. For dinner I ordered the country fried steak. It came with mashed potatoes and corn. The meal also came with either soup or salad. I ordered the cream of chicken and rice soup. It was delicious, as was my entree. My wife had cheese steak which she enjoyed. Both of us were happy enough with our meals to come back for breakfast a few days later. The breakfast menu is very extensive. I ordered my go to of biscuits and gravy. I also had a side of sausage patties. The biscuits and gravy were good. My wife had French toast and a side of bacon. Had breakfast today. The food was very good. The waitress (Lindsey) offered the pumpkin pancakes. They were delicious. The ambience was very comfortable. The restaurant was clean. The tables were cleaned off within minutes after a customer finished their meal and left. I have eaten here numerous times in the past and I have never been disappointed. We've been dining here since Pete opened back in 1984, but our last couple of experiences have left us saddened to see how things have changed. We arrived about 11:40 on Sunday and were surprised to see the restaurant less than half full. The chicken with rice soup was good, but my husband's fries weren't done enough and his cheeseburger was blah. My Big Dipper was presented as a mess. The big shock was the the bill being $40.00 for lunch for two. We had planned on going to George's, but they were so crowded that even the side streets were filled with cars, with no parking in their lot. George's food is waaaay better than Grandma's Table is and even though they raised their prices too, they're nowhere near as high and the food is amazing!!! This has been my "go to" place for breakfast every time I visit the area and they have always been consistently good. The employees were always very friendly and the cashier/owner was always very friendly. Unfortunately, on my last visit, I went there for a dinner and was craving liver and onions. That was a mistake. There was very little brown gravy and the liver was exceedingly dry. The onions were undercooked. The worst part was the scoop of canned vegetables was put on the plate instead of on the side and I had runny veggie water all over the plate. I had eaten there enough that on my way out, I felt comfortable telling the owner how dissatisfied I was and his response was that he would give me a $2 discount and his attitude changed immediately. I refused the insulting discount but felt bad when I left there because I had always enjoyed the breakfast menu and knew that I would not be treated the same in the future because I had told him how his liver and onions had failed expectations. This was the most amazing experience! I am literally writing this in the parking lot before I eve drive away. This is the first time I have even left a review for an establishment ever, but the service was just so AMAZING! and the food was just as good. Every single staff member was so kind and friendly. Every single one of them stopped by the table at some point and said enjoy the food or asked how it was. We had funny conversation with them when paying as well. All around just an absolutely wonderful experience! Definitely go to this spot if you are in the area!!!! Our server was so cute and festive too she had a little Thanksgiving server apron on. Omg, only went because it opened up at 5:30 am and had that breakfast craving. But it was so cold in there I ordered coffee just to hold on the cup to stay warm. It was freezing, no heat. Moved 3 tables, because the seats caved in or springs in them were hitting you in all the wrong places.. lol the potatoes were half cooked, and did not have that crisp hash brown taste. They couldn't find the food when I got there so I had to wait another 45 minutes for them to make the wrong order, then when they cooked the right order they burned it & still didn't get it right. The owner acts like burnt greasy food is the best quality. I have to decline the charge on my credit card because I don't think $85 for the wrong food that is burnt & greasy should be called food.
