Overall a good place for lunch. Price is extremely competitive in the area. I've been here twice already. The first time I ordered the unagi lunch box special for $15. The second time I ordered from the dinner menu for the unagi don for $20 hoping for more protein. And I was told the portion would be bigger. Turned out the portion was a little bigger. BUT.... I spent the extra $5 for the extra sushi rice in the bowl . What I was expecting was more eel, not more sushi rice... I almost asked for a refill of the miso soup ha! But I guess they don't do it. Who would ask for a soup refill...? But the food was good! Tasty but not expensive. The dining environment is great too. Symphony Sushi is tasty and reliable! I consistently go here for good chicken katsu bento boxes and sushi rolls. Ordering pick up and sitting in the restaurant delivers similar quality. The only thing I didn't like on the menu was the vegetable udon soup. I would recommend the delicious bento boxes for the most bang for your buck. Service is pretty slow when all tables are filled, so I would recommend going on a weekday or ordering out unless you don't mind waiting. read more

Great selection, great taste. The place went from empty to full in about five minutes at 6pm on a Friday. We were seated at about 6:10, so our order took about a half-hour, so be aware. The service was excellent, and they kept us apprised of when our order would be ready. We (two people) ordered the Maki Boat, and wondered if it would be enough. We couldn't finish it! read more

Since the pandemic this sushi place struggles and only cater to take out. I usually come here for their sushi and drinks with friends before the pandemic. Service's one of the best in Boston. Their sashimi is usually fresh, caterpillar and scorpion maki is one of my favorite here. They have extensive rolls and special rolls along with other items on their menu. I'm anxiously waiting for this to reopen soon one day and back to normal. One of my go to place for sushis with a decent size seatings area available and for big group of friends. read more

I have come here probably 3 times a month, every summer probably once every week and I have never had any problems before. Today we went and the first item we ordered was the edamame which was cold, the waitress reserved it hot which was amazing. We were waiting for our next appetizer for a while and when our food came out we asked where our other appetizer was. It seemed like they forgot and then later brought it out. Unfortunately, that was when the main course was served so we asked if it could be removed, they didn't let us. Whatever, it was fine. Then after the meal we started to feel a little queasy, so we let the staff know that maybe something was up with the food, we were going to pay the full amount so it didn't matter to us anyways. She didn't care and accused us that maybe it was something we ate earlier or it's impossible to get sick after just eating food (which is completely untrue, it had been at least 30 minutes since we had started eating). We just wanted to let her know that it could be something to keep an eye out for in case someone else felt sick. After all this she placed the tip iPad in front of me and I selected 0% and then she started going at us saying "why do you guys never tip" and "what is the issue with our service and food, you guys never tip". Whenever I come here I always tip at least 18-20% since thats the lowest option on the iPad. She kept saying we never tip and then I started to get fed up and asked to see proof of us never tipping (she didn't even know who we were) and asked for the manager. Then, I admit I was wrong here I cursed about the situation to her as she said her manager was not even here and if I wanted to wait 30 minutes he would be coming. This situation wouldn't even had happened if she was just like "I'll let the kitchen know your concerns", I just wanted them to be aware that something could be wrong with the food. So to conclude, the food made me sick (its usually good), and the waiter didn't take any criticism and then complained about how we never tip (like what??we always tip). read more

This place is across Northeastern University. We ordered Shrimp Veg Tempura appetizer , Seafood Udon soup, and Salmon Poke Bowl. The portion is quite big.. if you're not too hungry, can have 2 meal for 3..lol. My salmon poke quite good, just the sauce a bit too sour. Maybe ask for sauce on side next time. [3.5/5] Food tried was about a 3 with a half star bump attributed to service. Came here with The Boy before a John Mulaney show at Symphony Hall. Symphony was able to get us seated, fed, and liquored up all in under an hour and our waitress was very attentive. I was tempted to try the ramen (looks good - popular among diners) but I couldn't turn down uni. I got the U and I which is uni & ikura on top of a layer of spicy tuna then that's topped with bean sprouts, black tobiko, and seaweed over sushi rice. While on paper this read nice, the uni wasn't the quality I was expecting - considering the restaurant offers so many uni-centric dishes. The Boy got the Crispy Duck Breast which paired with the sweet chili sauce was a match made in heaven! Mango salsa wasn't really incorporated in the dish but more just on the side and optional if you feel like taking the effort to spread it across your crispy duck breast, but all together, it creates a nice bite. Symphony Sushi is definitely not anywhere near the best available in Boston but works in a pinch if you need to grab a bite before a show! Also they are part of the Uber cash back program and wine by the glass is pretty cheap! read more

I spent so much money, more on rolls than in some places, and the fish was not fresh. The fillers were too much. Even the shumai was overcooked and burnt. There is a rule that you never leave sushi. This place is an oldie and a goodie. Not sure about some of the negative comments below. I've always had a great time here. Today was no exception. I ordered the vegetable ramen noodle soup. My waitress was very accommodating and added chicken upon request and made my soup spicy. It was delicious! The soup was more coconut based and the ramen noodles were soft and chewy-AMAZING!! I probably wouldn't order it with chicken again because it was on the dry side and flavorless. But, that was my fault for trying to customize a great dish. My one suggestion would be that they bring all the entrees out at the same time. We had a party of 5 and everyone received their meals at various times. Fast service and nice and quiet place but the food didn't seem very fresh. I got the fire maki which had spicy tuna on top and it had a weird breaded consistency which tasted extremely uncomfortable. I felt okay while I was eating it but I didn't feel so great afterwards.
