Since the pandemic this sushi place struggles and only cater to take out. I usually come here for their sushi and drinks with friends before the pandemic. Service's one of the best in Boston. Their sashimi is usually fresh, caterpillar and scorpion maki is one of my favorite here. They have extensive rolls and special rolls along with other items on their menu. I'm anxiously waiting for this to reopen soon one day and back to normal. One of my go to place for sushis with a decent size seatings area available and for big group of friends. read more

Great selection, great taste. The place went from empty to full in about five minutes at 6pm on a Friday. We were seated at about 6:10, so our order took about a half-hour, so be aware. The service was excellent, and they kept us apprised of when our order would be ready. We (two people) ordered the Maki Boat, and wondered if it would be enough. We couldn't finish it! read more

This place is across Northeastern University. We ordered Shrimp Veg Tempura appetizer , Seafood Udon soup, and Salmon Poke Bowl. The portion is quite big.. if you're not too hungry, can have 2 meal for 3..lol. My salmon poke quite good, just the sauce a bit too sour. Maybe ask for sauce on side next time. [3.5/5] Food tried was about a 3 with a half star bump attributed to service. Came here with The Boy before a John Mulaney show at Symphony Hall. Symphony was able to get us seated, fed, and liquored up all in under an hour and our waitress was very attentive. I was tempted to try the ramen (looks good - popular among diners) but I couldn't turn down uni. I got the U and I which is uni & ikura on top of a layer of spicy tuna then that's topped with bean sprouts, black tobiko, and seaweed over sushi rice. While on paper this read nice, the uni wasn't the quality I was expecting - considering the restaurant offers so many uni-centric dishes. The Boy got the Crispy Duck Breast which paired with the sweet chili sauce was a match made in heaven! Mango salsa wasn't really incorporated in the dish but more just on the side and optional if you feel like taking the effort to spread it across your crispy duck breast, but all together, it creates a nice bite. Symphony Sushi is definitely not anywhere near the best available in Boston but works in a pinch if you need to grab a bite before a show! Also they are part of the Uber cash back program and wine by the glass is pretty cheap! read more

There was a lot of people here for lunch and the waitress was trying to take away my soup or food if they saw I stopped eating. It made me couldn't relax for me meal. The sushi here is yummy! The combos are well priced and come with so much sushi. This place has many options to choose form and the rolls have a good fish to rice ratio. The staff seems to be overworked though. There needs to be more waiters so service can be faster. Other than that, this place is a good place to stop and get sushi! read more

This place is an oldie and a goodie. Not sure about some of the negative comments below. I've always had a great time here. Today was no exception. I ordered the vegetable ramen noodle soup. My waitress was very accommodating and added chicken upon request and made my soup spicy. It was delicious! The soup was more coconut based and the ramen noodles were soft and chewy-AMAZING!! I probably wouldn't order it with chicken again because it was on the dry side and flavorless. But, that was my fault for trying to customize a great dish. My one suggestion would be that they bring all the entrees out at the same time. We had a party of 5 and everyone received their meals at various times. But the food was good so I'm not going to complain! Thank you Symphony Sushi for always coming through. GO HUSKIES!! read more

Fast service and nice and quiet place but the food didn't seem very fresh. I got the fire maki which had spicy tuna on top and it had a weird breaded consistency which tasted extremely uncomfortable. I felt okay while I was eating it but I didn't feel so great afterwards. Maybe if you lean towards the cooked sushis/entrees you would be better off but I would definitely steer clear of anything raw here. read more

I have come here probably 3 times a month, every summer probably once every week and I have never had any problems before. Today we went and the first item we ordered was the edamame which was cold, the waitress reserved it hot which was amazing. We were waiting for our next appetizer for a while and when our food came out we asked where our other appetizer was. It seemed like they forgot and then later brought it out. Unfortunately, that was when the main course was served so we asked if it could be removed, they didn't let us. Whatever, it was fine. Then after the meal we started to feel a little queasy, so we let the staff know that maybe something was up with the food, we were going to pay the full amount so it didn't matter to us anyways. She didn't care and accused us that maybe it was something we ate earlier or it's impossible to get sick after just eating food (which is completely untrue, it had been at least 30 minutes since we had started eating). We just wanted to let her know that it could be something to keep an eye out for in case someone else felt sick. After all this she placed the tip iPad in front of me and I selected 0% and then she started going at us saying "why do you guys never tip" and "what is the issue with our service and food, you guys never tip". Whenever I come here I always tip at least 18-20% since thats the lowest option on the iPad. She kept saying we never tip and then I started to get fed up and asked to see proof of us never tipping (she didn't even know who we were) and asked for the manager. Then, I admit I was wrong here I cursed about the situation to her as she said her manager was not even here and if I wanted to wait 30 minutes he would be coming. This situation wouldn't even had happened if she was just like "I'll let the kitchen know your concerns", I just wanted them to be aware that something could be wrong with the food. So to conclude, the food made me sick (its usually good), and the waiter didn't take any criticism and then complained about how we never tip (like what??we always tip). read more

DING DONG! Boy oh boy was this place a zinger! We stayed with the yellowtail Serrano app which was nice and spicy ( put a sweat bead on my forehead). Per our servers recommendation we went ahead and ordered the House Maki and spicy combo. Was just enough to fill this hungry mother of 5. We WILL be back. Go-Fish can go Fish it self! Delicious sushi , friendly service ! Stopped here after a long trip desperate for some delicious sushi and that's exactly what we got . I eat sushi all the time all over the country. This was the worst sushi I've ever had. Grocery store sushi is better. I spent so much money, more on rolls than in some places, and the fish was not fresh. The fillers were too much. Even the shumai was overcooked and burnt. There is a rule that you never leave sushi. You make sure that you eat it all. We couldn't even finish it. It was so bad. read more

Their teriyaki sirloin steak is beyond fantastic Their sushi Is great too!!! I have ordered delivery from symphony sushi a few times and I always request the teriyaki sirloin steak ..... I've likely had it 5 or 6 times and it's always cooked to perfection!!!! Any food I have ever ordered has been fresh and hot. So many good places to eat in Boston, this is not one of them. Sushi lunch had half a California roll (3 pieces) 4 regular sushi and one egg. The egg I believe it's call tamago... yuck. The 1st time I've ever had it included on any sushi lunch or dinner plate. Also, the cucumber part of the California roll was all cucumber skin... this place skips corners to cut costs. Lots of people working but took forever to get chili sauce... so long that I was done with my food. read more

Cheap decent sushi, fast service and an awesome salmon bento box! It's always pretty packed during lunchtime but they try to accommodate everyone. If you go to Northeastern then you've definitely been here :). The chicken bento box is blah so I wouldn't recommend it. Have had their rolls and a few hot dishes. And the food is ok. Yesterday I went and had a shrimp tempura roll, a salmon roll and miso soup. It was ok. The rice was a little on the rough side, the miso soup could have used more scallions and the fried shrimp didn't seem freshly fried ‍. The service is great. Was sat promptly, addressed and checked on throughout the meal. I will go back, just not in a rush. read more

The karaage was solid: crispy, yummy, nicely presented, and good with the mayo dipping sauce. But the nigiri made my eyes POP. MAN OH MAN was it FRESH. It was so good. That was basically all I could think about while eating it. I've eaten a lot of sushi in my life, although I still have the palate of a college student...and sometimes the wallet, too. I've definitely had sushi where I've thought, "This tastes like nothing," or "Why isn't the rice seasoned?" or, worse, "This doesn't taste right...I don't think this is very fresh." This was the opposite. The fish actually had flavor. Everything tasted fresh and delicious, and the rice and fish worked together the way good nigiri should. I wish I had slowed down and appreciated each piece more instead of inhaling it. I will absolutely be coming back. Now I know where to go when I'm craving genuinely good-quality sushi and am willing to spend a little more for it. The restaurant itself is classy, bright, neat, and polished without feeling stuffy. It would be a great place to catch up with a friend or for a date night. Although for a date, maybe don't feel bad about splitting the bill. It's the modern era anyway.

The atmosphere felt intimate, as though we had been invited into someone's home rather than a restaurant. Every detail felt intentional, from the minimalist design and calming ambiance to the subtle aromas throughout the space. Learning that Three 1 One was originally a one-bedroom apartment made the experience even more meaningful. The evening reminded me of a trip to Phu Quoc, Vietnam, where local islanders welcomed my fiancé and eight friends into their home to share a meal prepared from that day's catch. Coincidentally, there were ten guests gathered around the counter at Three 1 One, just as there had been ten of us in Vietnam. In both places, strangers came together over exceptional food and genuine hospitality. That feeling stayed with me throughout the evening. My fiancé and I celebrated our 11th anniversary here as we began exploring Michelin-starred restaurants together. After traveling throughout North and South Vietnam, where his family is from, we returned with a renewed appreciation for food and the stories it tells. We were excited to discover such a thoughtful Michelin-starred restaurant so close to home. The 19-course omakase felt like a journey. The opening truffle sea bream with mizuna and sudachi sauce awakened the palate with bright citrus and earthy richness. The Kegani Hokkaido hairy crab with dashi jelly and tomato dashi mousse became my fiancé's favorite. Once mixed together, it was creamy, savory, delicate, and refreshing. His reaction said it all: "Wow." The tako (octopus) with house-made sweet soy sauce highlighted the natural flavor of the seafood beautifully, while the Tokobushi somen with abalone, wheat noodles, yam, okra, and cold dashi became one of my favorite courses. It was refined yet bold, layered with umami, and unexpectedly reminded me of the haenyeo women of Jeju Island, whose tradition of free-diving for seafood gave me an even greater appreciation for the ingredients. Another standout was the Amadai Uroko Yaki (crispy-scale tilefish). The contrast between the crisp scales and tender fish created a texture I'd never experienced before. Along with the abalone course, it was one of the highlights of the evening. The Aji horse mackerel with ginger, chives, sesame, and nori provided a refreshing transition before the sushi. The sushi alone deserves its own review. Every piece reflected remarkable craftsmanship and precision. Watching Chef Wei prepare each bite was part of the experience itself. The rice was beautifully seasoned, and every ingredient felt balanced. My favorite piece was the uni (sea urchin). It was incredibly smooth, rich, and almost buttery. My second favorite was the Hokkaido hotate (scallop), with its delicate smokiness, sweetness, and juicy texture that left me wanting another bite immediately. We also tried selections from the additional menu, along with a pear-toned sake that paired beautifully with the meal. More than anything, what stayed with me wasn't just the food, but the feeling of the evening. It was an experience built around craftsmanship, hospitality, culture, and sharing a meal with others. Our server was courteous for the first part of the meal, however, slightly before 9pm he began doing everything he could to kick us out, collecting unfinished dishes aggressively, pushing the bill in front of our noses and coming 5 seconds later with a machine so we pay and leave. The cherry on the top was when that server had the audacity to demand a higher tip (I was about to tip way more than that service deserved, but he said "the minimum amount has to be higher"). With so much great choices in the Boston area, I really don't see a reason to come back to this one...

I LOVE this place! I live nearby, and its cheaper (not the cheapest) then some of the other awesome sushi places in boston. Sometimes there is a wait, but I've never had to wait longer than 30 minutes for a table even on the weekends. The beef gyozas are to die for (fried, not steamed), and the miso soup is an awesome way to warm up on a freezing winter day. I've been coming to this place for years, ever since I moved to Boston. I've tried a variety of the rolls and have never really been disappointed with any of them...my favorite is tekka maki (I know, one of the simplest rolls) but the dragon roll, Christmas roll, and spicy tuna tempura are all amazing. Sometimes the service isn't great, and its hard to get my water glass refilled which can get annoying. But that's about the only complaint I have here. I don't recommend the take out as much, as the rolls (some of them) can get soggy. read more

Horrible attitude. 1. Lunch special bento box takes more than 30 min to serve 2. When checking out, they only give u one pen. When I asked for the second pen, the waitress first said "you can use his pen" with bad attitude, then I said we are in a rush, so she throw a pen to me with angry. WTF?! 3. Chicken fried rice was amazing! The rice wasn't dry at all so no sauce needed tbhhhh. I loved it. Scallion pancakes were great too.
