I was lucky enough to score some pies before they sold out for Pi Day 2026. This was my first time trying the pies from Sweetcie Pie and they are delicious! I purchased the 5" Pie Sampler ($54), which came with Cherry, Strawberry, Apple, and Blueberry. They were all delicious and unique in their own way. The pie crust is perfectly buttery and crispy. The fillings aren't too sweet - no matter which flavor I tried. The thing with Sweetcie Pie is that they do not have a standalone store, nor do they sell pies regularly. You have to sign up for their newsletter/email on their website to be notified when they will be selling pies, which seems to be just a few times a year. I love this pie. I ordered the Cherry Amaretto for Thanksgiving, and it was the best pie I've ever had. I had a backup pie I ordered elsewhere in case I wasn't able to get this pie (wasn't sure how fast the "day of" pies would sell out) so I a side by side comparison and this pie was just so much better! Let me start by saying that I'm not a pie person. Meaning, I don't love them but I also don't hate them. In all honesty, I'm pretty meh about them and I definitely don't crave them...THESE PIES ARE THE EXCEPTION! I first came across Karen and her amazing strawberry pie while at a farmers market..I bought only 1 mini strawberry pie and realized my mistake once I got home and actually tasted it. Omg. Best pie I've ever had. I was wondering what the hype was about until I bought four at the pop-up today. Not only was the crust thin and nicely flaky, the filling was full of fruit, unlike many pies that have too much flour too thicken. Most importantly it wasn't very sweet, but just right. My boyfriend, who never liked pies, couldn't stop eating after the first bite. I really wish it was easier to buy these pies as the pickup location is in Irvine and only on the weekends. We're now down to two pies and it won't make it past tomorrow. The flavors we tried: strawberry and boysenberry. The strawberry would be my favorite of the two as boysenberry tastes like a cross between black berry and blueberry. There are times you find good food and there are times you find GREAT food... I was looking for a pie that was better than what I could get at places such as Polly's or Marie Calendar's... both good pie places, but my find at Sweetcie Pie via Yelp was a stroke of luck. Had a Pear/Berry pie that was just AWESOME! Can't tell you what fresh and natural tastes like, but you'll have to taste it yourself. Their pies are more expensive than the pies at the chain restaurants, but OH... what a treat. I think I've only had pies like this at a local farmer's market in rural Washington State which was located right on the fruit farm itself. To find pies like this in Southern California is something you can't miss. Also, Sweetcie Pie was so helpful. They are easy to talk to and they even go out of their way to offer pies at the local Zion market in Irvine during Thanksgiving and Xmas holidays when they are on holiday vacation themselves.
