The breakfast was really good! I especially loved the millionaire's bacon and the potatoes were super flavorful. My boyfriend's breakfast was also really tasty. The only downside was the service. After our food was dropped off, no one checked on us at all. We actually wanted to order more, but our waiter never came back. He may have been busy with other customers, which is understandable, but I wish he had checked in at least just once. We ended up waiting a while just to flag someone down for the tab, since we were ready to leave. Also, someone left a skillet with uneaten food right next to our table, and it was swarming with little flies, some getting on our food too... not the most appetizing thing to see during breakfast. Presentation is excellent, but overall lacking to satisfy the taste bud. The mini pancake was not that mini and quite a good portion, but syrup was only poured on top and pancakes in the middle were dry due to lacking of syrup. The croissant waffle had good texture but again the blueberries sauce was watered down and has no taste so the croffle tasted lacking We were particularly disappointed in the OJ and hot cacao, both were watered down, but other peoples cocktails look delish so perhaps the alcoholic options are better. read more

Came into Sweet Maple and had one of the best dining experiences we've had in a while, all thanks to our server, Alex. From the moment we sat down, he was incredibly kind, attentive, and genuinely funny--he made the whole experience feel welcoming and fun instead of just another meal out. He checked in at all the right times without ever being overbearing, and you can tell he really cares about the guests he's serving. Honestly, the service alone was 20/10. Alex completely elevated our visit, and we'll definitely be coming back because of him. If you get the chance, ask for Alex--you won't regret it. PS: Food was so fucking good as well. Just okay. I was really excited to try this place as I love going to thai brunch spots. We had a reservation for 1pm on a sunday and came 15 mins early. The inside is very modern and the restaurant looked very clean. They sat another party while we waited and we could see that the hostess in the black dress was looking worried around the restaurant. She looked like she asked the manager for help and the manager looked annoyed with her as well. They cleared an outside table even though we asked for an inside table. When we told the host, she just said "yeah but it might be a very long time until one opens up." We took the outside table and 5 mins later 2 inside tables were cleaned and set. The food was okay. The crab omlett was a bit dry. The best thing was the guava margarita. The drinks arnt that strong here. If you want to get tipsy on brunch you may want to go somewhere else. read more

It was a little congested when i first arrived because the line was long and no one was outside to direct traffic for check in but it was cleared after. Waited an hour but ABSOLUTELY worth the wait. We waited about an hour for a table for 3 people to sit inside. We ordered the Francis Soufflegg Skillet, Tornado Galbi Omurice, the Short Ribs Pot, and the Coconut Moffle with Brie to share. We also ordered a vanilla latte and the specialty cinnamon shaken espresso. The food was good, I had no real complaints about it. The place looked nice, it was really crowded and smaller than expected. We sat at a table near the door, which they left open and it was freezing inside. Kind of a neat and trendy place, I don't know if I would say it's a modern take on mid-century design or what but it's pretty swanky. Food was pretty swanky too although I didn't particularly enjoy the dish that I ordered, I can't remember exactly what it was. They've got some millionaire bacon stuff that people rave about, not my thing, but I can see why some people love it. The dishes came presented fantastically well and I would not hesitate to go back and try something else despite not being in love with my first meal there. I do remember loving the spicy Bloody Mary and, before you go there, I only had one, so that's that. read more

I was really excited to try this place out since it is new to the area, but overall I don't think it was anything super special. We made a reservation for a Friday morning at 10am and were seated right away ( it was pretty busy so I recommend a reservation or joining their virtual queue). After we were seated and our order was taken we were kind of forgotten about. No one came by to refill waters or ask if we needed anything until we were finished eating. The ambiance gave the vibe similar to a hotel lobby. There are quite a few tables packed into a pretty small restaurant and there is a small patio outside, if you want to bring your pooch. The food came out extremely fast, but over all was just bland. I had the frisco scramble, and for the price it wasn't anything I'm dying to go back and have again. They really push the "millionaire's bacon" and for someone who doesn't eat pork, I felt like there were only a few options for someone who doesn't eat bacon. As a fan of the original in Pac Heights, I could not wait for the Walnut Creek outpost to open, and I was not disappointed. The food and drinks are top notch and the service is friendly and attentive. The Millionaire's Bacon is as delicious as ever. I loved the blueberry vodka drink and the many coffee and espresso drinks. My one complaint is that the parking situation is terrible, even for Walnut Creek - it's on an alley and there's no parking anywhere to be found so plan to walk a ways. However, the food and atmosphere are totally worth it. I'll for sure be back soon with friends and family. One important note, there's an online waitlist and the wait is long so get on the waitlist online early! And definitely get the Millionaire's Bacon. read more

I also tried the Soufflegg with shrimp and bacon, but it lacked flavor. I will say, the potatoes that came with it were fantastic and definitely a highlight. For coffee, I got the Truffle Dirty Coffee --- it was an interesting and unique drink, and I'd order it again. But what really took away from the experience was the service. I constantly had to wave someone down just to get what I needed, which was disappointing, especially given the price point. Finally!! This location is open, we've been waiting for so long! I've been to all the other locations and I will say this location is my favorite. They do have a few new items on the menu compared to the other locations such as the Mariner french toast. It's a thicker toast and was super fluffy, not too sweet, and delicious! We also got their short ribs pot. The braised short rib was moist, tender, and flavorful. It was perfect with rice, poached egg, tomatoes, and kimchi. I also got the Gardena soufflé skillet. This is a small, modern and beautiful space. It reminds me of a high end hotel breakfast nook. We arrived when they opened so there wasn't much of a wait. We were seated and the staff got us situated. The customer service was excellent and didn't take long for the food to come out. Now, for the core of the review.... I had high expectations for the food and was left disappointed. 1. Lattes, we're okay. The mix was too strong in the matcha so we didn't drink it. The ube was good, but could've also used a little less mix. I know the coloring is pretty, but if it doesn't taste as good as it looks it misses the mark. 2. Bacon- The star of the visit was the Millionaire Bacon Flight, which is a sampler of bacons. The Rosemary bacon was pleasantly good and something that I would definitely have again. 3. French toast- it's something that's usually moist and buttery. We had been craving this and unfortunately the Marnier was our least favorite dish. The bread was thick and mostly dry. Likely because it was too thick to absorb the little bit of batter it had. The brûlée on the top was salty. Not sure if someone used salt as a mistake but it was horrible. We tried to mask it with syrup, but it was a fail. Would not recommend if it was the normal recipe. 4. Galbi Benedict- The short rib was tender and flavorful, but the rest left a lot to be desired. Usually a Benedict is served with sourdough English muffin. This was served with the same thick toast, which didn't balance well with the dry potatoes. 5. Raymun- These style noodles are popular in the Bay Area and ones we order often. Here they had all of the right ingredients, but again they were dry. No oil, gravy or sauce to marry the noodles and ingredients. This location is nice and the staff are great which is why I gave three stars, but the food overall was lackluster and disappointing. I see the vision, and hope they can make corrections to garner the reviews I know they desire. read more
