Inside the bao bun. Not sure but I think it was vegetables inside. Soft and fluffy with a nice crunchy bottom.

Customer Service is top tier! Saja and the other lady were very accommodating, patient, and kind. The place is cute, there's a TV on the wall running loops of food and customer photos. Plenty of seating, Place your order at the register and then wait to be seated. Upon being shown to my table, they serve appetizers consisting of a vegetable Bao Bun and a Chicken Dumpling with sesame and sweet chili sauce for dipping. The dumpling had a good crunch on the bottom but the top portion of the dumpling wrapper was really hard and waxy/plastic tasting. Hard to explain, but basically they tasted like they were probably fried hours ago and kept under a heat lamp. Score: 6/10 The bun was delicious. Not sure if it was vegetables inside, but nothing noticeable. The bun was so soft and fluffy, I really liked it. Score: 8/10 On the table they provide you with 3 sauces for dipping your hotpot ingredients into--which included a sour garlic sauce, a garlic chili sauce, and a soy vinegar sauce. Wish they offered green onions, but nevertheless, mixing all three together turned out to be a very flavorful sauce. I ordered the Mala and Satay combination broth with chicken and cabbage dumplings and choice of glass noodles. My protein was beef. My hotpot was so delicious. The combo of mala and satay broths were fire and I would order it again except with less mala broth and more satay broth, and also probably add veggies. Beware that mala broth is very spicy. I was picking out pieces of red chili for days cuz I didn't want to take the chance on biting down on one of them. The beef was superb. It was sliced thinly and it just melted in my mouth. Score: 9/10 I really enjoyed the glass noodles in the soup. I'm used to ramen noodles and this was a nice change. The texture of the noodles were perfectly chewy. Since I had so much broth leftover I ordered more glass noodles to go and they were also so nice to give me a full container of satay broth on the house to take home, so that I could try to cool down the spiciness a little. For my drink I chose the caramel cinnamon milk tea. The milk teas are made with nondairy creamer which was perfect for my lactose intolerant self. It was very tasty and perfectly sweet. A little honey boba added would have set it over the top. Score: 7.5/10 What I really like about this hotpot spot is that everything is customizable from the soup broth, the noodles, the meats and veggies. They have a Vegetable Hotpot for the vegetarians. What I love most is that I can get a small app, a choice of drink, and an entree all for about $15-$16 dollars.

This is an extension of Tpumps but they specialize in hot pot. Similar to the concept of boiling point, they offer a variety of soup bases like miso, satay, etc. you can also upgrade your drinks with a Tpumps drink as well. The pots come with a side of rice. The service is always so friendly here. They often bring out some complementary appetizers as well for you to try. You pick your food at the front and pay then get seated and the food comes out pretty quick. I personally always go for the satay beef option. It's flavorful and comes with an assortment of vegetables, meatballs, fish cakes, beef, etc.

One of the best place fo have lunch at! The hotpot and service at Sweet Fires is in its name - Fire !!!! Diem was super professional and she knows how to tend to people's needs. The other staffs were also always asking if they can do anything for you (free refill on rice btw). Pretty spacious and chill! Board games after food with friends is also fun!

Delicious. My wife and I loved this place. We took our baby and they have awesome utensils for the kids. Great service.

This place is really great.loved this place. It was really delicious , warm and welcoming. The teas that come with are excellent as well.

It's been 8 months since my last review & I've been back a few times since then. Every time the service has been BEYOND exceptional. They've even added a few more new offerings since the last time I was here. Not into fish cakes? They have dumplings now. They even have more soup base offerings including curry. I always have to get dessert and it's great too. They now have individual sizes so I had to try that too. It did not disappoint. Ambiance is nice and chill with TV's all around and music too. The staff here is very attentive as well so If you want good food with superb service, please don't hesitate to try this place out!

Unexpectedly delicious. For $12.99 with a free tea or $3 to upgrade your tea! You get 1 free dumpling in your soup but you can add more (unless you choose the dumplings topping option). Service was great, they explained how to order and came around to offer more rice. Love that it is local and very affordable for the high schoolers as well.

My family and I came to Sweet Fires to celebrate my cousin's birthday, since she requested something tasty that has dessert. This was one of the options I sent her, and the one we ended up going to. The are located in the same plaza as 24 Hour Fitness and Tpumps in Upland. There is plenty of parking in this plaza. I arrived first to get a table for our family of 7. The staff in front told me I could take this table in the corner, which was perfect. When they arrived, we ordered at the front and then headed to the table. The hot pots here are super affordable for only $12.99 for a hot pot AND drink. You pick a soup base, a topping base, a protein base, and have the option to pick add-ons. One recommendation for the business is to disclose what's in the base. When I asked what's in the sweet fires base, they said what's in the picture. Honestly I would be worried if I had food allergies, but good thing I don't. Also if it was already listed it would help with decision making, quicker ordering, not bugging staff with questions, etc. I had the Satay soup with the Sweet Fires topping base with pork. Most of us got that soup and toppings combination with different proteins. My aunts had the dashi soup with veggie toppings and tofu as their protein. The only pot we had issues with was my cousin who ordered the mala soup base. They said there was a funky smell and they thought it was inedible so they didn't eat. My nephew had one of their Pumpbo ($9.99) shaved ice and there was plenty for him to enjoy there and take most of it home. The food was average but what really stood out for us was the amazing service by their friendly staff. The owner or manager came out and greeted us and checked on us frequently. They gave us complimentary dumplings and turnip cakes. When they heard we were celebrating my cousin's birthday they even gave her their cold brew and this epic huge boba with all the toppings. She felt super special and I'm glad she enjoyed her birthday outing. It seems like the family enjoyed and we'll most likely be back... just no more mala for my other cousin who wanted to be adventurous.

Went here on a whim, closing crew tonight was very good in terms of customer service. Regularly got back to us on any needs needed and informed us on menu items. I'd say the food was good and the addition of added TPumps with your meal for $12.99 (pretax) is a good deal. Upgrade for custome for just $3 more. Inside looked really nice and it is a bit small, fire choice on playing some kpop on the screen while I ate.

Tried Sweet Fries for hot pot for the first time and WOW--so delicious! I went with the mala (perfectly spicy and flavorful), while the kiddos had the tomato miso, and it was just as good, definitely did not disappoint. The owner is incredibly kind and welcoming, which made the experience even better. And to top it all off, we were treated to complimentary shaved ice at the end, such a sweet surprise! I loved the Baseball and college memorabilia on the walls. We'll definitely be back!

I took my mom here for lunch today and as my first time here, I was very impressed! From the food up to the service, it was outstanding. Great service right when you walk in and the food was delicious. They have variety of broth to choose from and it comes with a tpump drink when you order. You can add boba if you pay $3 which also upgrade the size to large. The hotspot serving was good and it comes with complimentary rice which you can ask more if you want. The service was excellent! Staff were friendly, helpful, attentive, and welcoming. This is now my go to place for hotpot. Highly recommended!

Curry udon hot pot with dumpling and milk tea

This place is amazing, you should definitely come here. They have milk teas, hot pot and shaved iced. You don't gotta go anywhere else for dessert. My curry hot pot with dumplings was delicious. And my matcha shaved ice with toppings was yummy too. The staff is friendly and accommodating. It's a chill spot.

    Matcha Shaved Ice Dessert
    Helen L.

Came here a couple times in the past and the workers and manager is always so kind. Came around 8pm to get the shaved ice dessert. Presentation and flavor was great. Unfortunately, as I had the dessert I noticed an odd hard texture and started spitting out some of the hard plastic. I tried to stay positive and composed because I just possibly swallowed bits of plastic. The whole staff apologized and refunded for the dessert and replace it with a new one. I appreciate them addressing the situation, but I am still sad by this experience and cried when I got home because I'm usually cautious when I eat food and this kinda scared me. Overall, I do hope this shop gets on top of double checking and cleaning their equipment for the sake of future customers. Only wishing them the best.

It was organized, safe, and still such a great experience. We have been coming back ever since. If you're wondering what keeps me coming back... First, the service is incredible. There is an older gentleman with salt and pepper hair who is always so professional and kind. He carries himself with such calm confidence and respect. The entire staff is friendly and welcoming, but he truly stands out every single time. Second, the OPTIONS. The spread here is amazing. From sauces to fresh vegetables, noodles, seafood, fruit, and dessert, there is something for everyone. And can we talk about the watermelon? For some reason, it is always perfectly sweet. Every single time. I am a huge shrimp lover, so being able to make my own shrimp in the hot pot is a dream. Fresh, flavorful, and cooked exactly how I like it. It is such a fun experience. Pro tip: Here is the sauce combo I put together and it is chef's kiss. In a bowl add jalapeños, cucumbers, hot chili, chili oil, sesame oil, and ponzu sauce. Then top it with fresh cilantro. It is so fresh, spicy, tangy, and delicious. You will thank me later. If you are looking for a place that is comfortable, not overwhelmingly crowded, and consistently delivers great food and service, this is the place to go. We have been loyal ever since we found it, and it never disappoints.

We went around lunchtime, so it wasn't too busy. We were seated right away. The food at the bar was fresh. The paper they give you to self order your appetizers, drinks, meats, and dessert (ice cream) is really convenient. They give a good amount of meat portions per person. And you have up to 3 rounds to order meat. The food from the bar is unlimited. They have everything from sauces, to more appetizers or small foods, a variety of vegetables, rice, noodles, seafood, and fruits. Service was great. Our server checked up on us from time to time for drink refills, to clean up our table, and to get our paper for more food orders. Such a chill ambiance here. It's a large restaurant, so even if it gets loud, you're not talking over each other during dinner. It's very spacious, so when you're up to get your food you're not bumping into people. This was my boyfriend's first time here and he really enjoyed himself. I'm glad I took him here. This is definitely a place worth checking out if you're craving hotpot.

Very pleasant experience…read more Went on a Friday around 6:30 PM. When you walk in, the first thing you see is a waitlist where you write down your name and number. The young woman working immediately acknowledged us before we even finished writing our info down and asked how many were in our party. We said two, and she told us to go ahead and start building our bowls. The concept is pretty cool and very straightforward. You grab a bowl and tongs, then walk through the different sections choosing your ingredients. They had a good variety of veggies, noodles, meats, seafood, tofu, etc. Pricing is by weight at $15.99/lb. Once you finish building your bowl, you head to the cashier where they weigh it and you choose your broth and spice level. The broth selection was surprisingly huge, around 15 options if I remember correctly. I got the Tom Yum broth mild spice, and my girlfriend got the Organic Miso mild spice. We also added jasmine green tea and white rice for $1.99 each. After ordering, they give you a table number and you can head over to the self-serve sauce station while your food is being prepared. The sauce bar had ponzu, sesame oil, soy sauce, sriracha, Tabasco, scallions, cilantro, red onion, satay sauce, shallots, minced garlic, chili powder, chili oil, and more. The soups came out quickly and were served over a live flame at the table, which was a nice touch. Both broths were excellent. Even at mild spice, there was still a pleasant kick. The broth itself had good body and flavor and didn't taste watery at all. Service was also great. The server checked on us consistently, kept drinks refilled, and was attentive without hovering. The restaurant itself is pretty small, maybe around 8 tables, but it felt cozy rather than cramped. Nice interior, comfortable temperature, clean setup, and the vibe was relaxing. They were playing bossa nova versions of 2000s and modern hits which honestly fit the atmosphere perfectly. Definitely a spot I'd come back to. Great value, fun experience, and genuinely good hot pot.
