After…read morepho with the family, he specifically asked to go to Below Zero Shaved Ice in Upland for his favorite treat. We pulled up at 11:30, super excited... only to find they now open at 12. The owner came out right away and chatted with us. When we explained we were there straight from the tournament to celebrate our boy, he didn't hesitate--he made him a fresh snow cone on the spot (even though they weren't officially open yet!) and gave us a punch card so we can come back soon. In a world that can feel rushed, this small act of kindness meant the world to us. It turned a little disappointment into the sweetest memory. Thank you to the wonderful family behind at below zero shavedice for your big hearts and for making our celebration even better. We'll be back soon--your shaved ice is the best around! They explained that they put ice cream in the cup first, add shaved ice, then put MORE ice cream on top. I ordered a "small," it was plentiful. A large would be too much (in my opinion). The flavor I chose was "Big Stick," which is cherry and pineapple. It was fantastic! For 95 cents more you can add a topping (sprinkles, condensed milk, Oreo cookie crumbs, etc.). There isn't any seating inside, although there is room at the right of the entrance for a table or countertop with barstools. Come by and enjoy your treats, similar to the ones from the Hawaiian Islands! Sincerely, Rosemary

The owner of the food truck, Mark was very friendly. He said they provide catering for parties. As part of their menu; they have hotdogs, nachos, snow cones/shave ice and hot and cold drinks. These will be a good addition to your social gathering or as it's own. The food truck is so cute, it's a micro food truck! He even said that they have 2 trucks; blue and pink. Perfect for a mini event. It is something unique and fun. I will definitely use this business in my future event.

Since I had very few choices I decided to give them another opportunity and booked them again for a second open house. The owner added an extra $40 travel fee at the last minute, which was frustrating, but the bigger issue was that he CANCELED the day before my event claiming he was having "problems with his cart/trailer" What upset me most was seeing posts on social media the same day showing him out having a "fun family day," which made it feel dishonest and unprofessional. Because of the last-minute cancellation, I was left scrambling without food for my open house. After realizing I had seen the posts, I was blocked on social media instead of receiving an apology or explanation. Unfortunately, I will not be using this company again.

They offer several fillings to choose from, and I went with the custard for a more traditional flavor. Big mistake only getting one because it was SO good. Definitely should've ordered more. We also got the banana crunch bingsu with granola crunch, and the texture of the ice is completely different from the snow cones you'd get at a carnival. Think soft, pillowy, melt-in-your-mouth ice that's super light and refreshing. You really just have to try it for yourself. The seating area is on the smaller side, but the service was friendly and welcoming. Will definitely be coming back!

We ordered the black bowl, one of their specialties, and it only comes in a large size. Definitely worth it though--I really liked how they layered the toppings throughout instead of just piling everything on top with ice at the bottom. It made every bite balanced and flavorful. We also tried the mini strawberry bowl, which unfortunately was wayyy too sweet for my taste. I'd recommend asking for the condensed milk on the side if you go for this one. The strawberries were still pretty frozen, but it wasn't a dealbreaker. Overall, solid spot with some great options for Korean bingsu. Interested in trying their taro bowl next time.

First off, finding the place was a bit frustrating. There's no clear restaurant sign, and since it's located in a busy shopping plaza with lots of other spots, it was hard to pinpoint. We ended up having to park and walk around for a while before finally finding it. As for the food, my wife and I found it a bit overwhelming. We ordered our dishes mild, but they were still much spicier than expected. A lot of the flavors seemed to revolve around chili oil, which made it feel less unique to us after a few bites. On top of that, the food was noticeably oily and on the saltier side, which made it harder to enjoy the meal as we kept going. To be fair, this style of cooking is rooted in Szechuan cuisine, which is known for its signature "mala" flavor--a mix of heat from chili peppers and the numbing sensation from Sichuan peppercorns. It's definitely a distinctive and authentic flavor profile, especially if you're not used to it. Overall, I didn't hate the experience, but I didn't love it either. If you're a spice lover, and the oily food, you'll probably enjoy it a lot more than we did. For us, it was more of a one-and-done kind of spot.
