After…read morepho with the family, he specifically asked to go to Below Zero Shaved Ice in Upland for his favorite treat. We pulled up at 11:30, super excited... only to find they now open at 12. The owner came out right away and chatted with us. When we explained we were there straight from the tournament to celebrate our boy, he didn't hesitate--he made him a fresh snow cone on the spot (even though they weren't officially open yet!) and gave us a punch card so we can come back soon. In a world that can feel rushed, this small act of kindness meant the world to us. It turned a little disappointment into the sweetest memory. Thank you to the wonderful family behind at below zero shavedice for your big hearts and for making our celebration even better. We'll be back soon--your shaved ice is the best around! Support local, support kindness!

They explained that they put ice cream in the cup first, add shaved ice, then put MORE ice cream on top. I ordered a "small," it was plentiful. A large would be too much (in my opinion). The flavor I chose was "Big Stick," which is cherry and pineapple. It was fantastic! For 95 cents more you can add a topping (sprinkles, condensed milk, Oreo cookie crumbs, etc.). There isn't any seating inside, although there is room at the right of the entrance for a table or countertop with barstools. Come by and enjoy your treats, similar to the ones from the Hawaiian Islands! Sincerely, Rosemary

I cant justify any of these dishes making me want to consume bowls upon bowls of rice. That's what spicy Szechuan and Hunan food is supposed to do....it should make you awaken your taste buds, with the power of their chilli peppers, Szechuan green & red peppercorns, and the umamis derived from MSG. Nope, I didn't crave the Lazi Chicken...nor the Hot Oil Beef Mix... Not the Cold Noodles, and I left with a $122 receipt in hand for 2 more takeout items on top of the 4 main dishes I've shared.....and I felt pretty empty. Empty in a sense, I could DO BETTER at home mixing my own Szechuan Cold Noodles, with Home Made Chili Oil, Sesame Paste, Sugar. Chicken Bullion, Minced Garlic, Vinegar, and Cilantro. I almost felt robbed here.....either every dish was lacking peppercorns and numbness, or it was missing Umami, Alot of it...so I leave anyone who wants to challenge my opinion otherwise and prove me wrong that the food here indeed belongs in a long list of top notch Szechuan Hunan Restaurants in Los Angeles. Even if this place opened up in Phoenix, I'm sorry, it's going to rank in the lower end of the bell curve. It was a hot day. I felt the service lady doesn't know how to tell "Customers Need Ice Water" and I had to vocally tell her ice and water please. I don't know, been a long week, haven't gone home for 10 days and just been bouncing on and off my rig all across the US....I just wanted some food I could really enjoy today, and Chili Bistro failed to deliver.

At the time we…read morewent, there was plenty of nearby parking in the plaza and our party of 5 was able to get seated right away. Parking situation may differ if you go in the middle of the day as it is in a plaza with a grocery store and other shops/restaurants. The restaurant is also on the smaller side in terms of seating so keep that in mind too if you go at a busier day/time. I ordered the beef noodle soup non-spicy. It's a very filling meal with good chunks of beef and a lot of noodles. I have a low spice tolerance, hence why I had to order it non-spicy, but I'm sure the spicy version is even better. Although the name of the shop is Cup Noodles, the noodles they use are definitely not as they are of better quality than you would get in an instant noodle cup. What stood out to me the most was how the egg in the noodle soup was cooked! It was fried and most of the yolk was cooked through expect for the very center which had a little pocket in the yolks that was a tiny bit runny. My friend also ordered a pepper fungus (woodear mushroom) for the table which was yummy and a good palette cleanser/flavor break while eating the noodles.

The owner of the food truck, Mark was very friendly. He said they provide catering for parties. As part of their menu; they have hotdogs, nachos, snow cones/shave ice and hot and cold drinks. Since I had very few choices I decided to give them another opportunity and booked them again for a second open house. The owner added an extra $40 travel fee at the last minute, which was frustrating, but the bigger issue was that he CANCELED the day before my event claiming he was having "problems with his cart/trailer" What upset me most was seeing posts on social media the same day showing him out having a "fun family day," which made it feel dishonest and unprofessional. Because of the last-minute cancellation, I was left scrambling without food for my open house. After realizing I had seen the posts, I was blocked on social media instead of receiving an apology or explanation. Unfortunately, I will not be using this company again.
