    Albacore

My family likes this place a lot. I was not a fan... make sure the menu is completely clean if you're with a group because there was one marked off and both parties thought the other ordered it so we got an extra roll... I got the climax. The mayo tasted weird... like maybe it was miracle whip? I couldn't eat the whole the thing. The bonus roll we thought the other party ordered was monkey brains. Didn't like it at all but that's because I hate mushrooms so take that as you will. The albacore sashimi was good. I ended up dipping in a side of ponzu. Family ordered veggie roll with soy paper and shrimp tempura which they both liked.

    combo 1 and dragon roll

very mediocre sushi, good portions and prices, ok service, but low quality food. ramen was not authentic at all with an overly salty and unflavorful broth that tasted like it was made from concentrate. the combo 1 was pretty good, the servings were large and the fish was ok, but the way it was cut was concerning. dragon roll was good - no complaints, pretty standard, same with the edamame. small complaint with the service was that we didnt get any utensils, plates, or napkins until we asked for it. otherwise waitress was kind and attentive.

I've gone here a lot over the years and have noticed the last 2 times that the food portions are smaller, food quality has gone down and it's considerably more expensive. I think they charge around $3-4 dollars more per item and the value just isn't there compared to similarity costed food. I've tried so many of their rolls but usually order the Climax and garlic edamame. This time the roll was smaller, had less of everything on it, notably the sauces on top, and the salmon was mushy and did not taste fresh. The garlic edamame was great though. I'm at a point that if I'm paying this much and the quality is now like this, I'd rather make the trek to Sushi Brokers. I'm attaching a picture with the magnificent Climax roll of yesteryear compared to the anti climatic roll from this last Wednesday,

We came in on our day off excited to try a new sushi spot and were seated right away. We started with two Arnold Palmers and edamame. Unfortunately, the Arnold Palmers tasted like watered-down lemonade with no tea, and about half of the edamame wasn't salted. When we wanted to ask for replacement drinks, order sushi, and get salt, we waited around 15 minutes without anyone checking on us--even though there was only one other guest dining and multiple employees working. My boyfriend eventually had to get up and find a server just to place our order and request what we needed. After another 15+ minutes, our sushi rolls came out, but my replacement drink still hadn't arrived. We also weren't given soy sauce at any point and had to get up and grab it ourselves. When the rolls were dropped off, they were set down abruptly, and the interaction felt cold and unwelcoming. The overall energy made us feel like we weren't wanted there. Other odd things included receiving ginger, eel sauce, and spicy mayo in to-go containers even though we were dining in. We weren't checked on until we were nearly done with our first two rolls, and even then, the interaction felt rushed and indirect. When I asked for a manager, I was told none was present, and they wouldn't provide a way to contact one. We also had to track someone down just to get our check. The food itself was good--we really enjoyed the Firecracker and First Love rolls, though the baked lobster roll wasn't our favorite. Unfortunately, as servers ourselves, the service and attitude really missed the mark, and we likely won't be returning.

My husband and I stopped by tonight and were seated quickly. This was our first time and although the waiter didn't ask, we didn't tell them either. The menu had a vast amount of sushi offerings but a minimum amount of entrees. This is the first sushi spot where my husband struggled with finding something to eat. We ordered a good amount of food: Gyoza & crab puffs were okay, appetizer came out after sushi Miso soup was watery to the point of no taste Veggie roll was overwhelmed by cucumber Cucumber roll had large chunks of cucumber which my husband remarked Spider roll, was smaller than expected and not a lot of variety inside, again heavy on the cucumber Lobster roll, although the topping was well made it just didn't vibe Bento box, the one thing my husband found was not well made. The teriyaki sauce was barely there and the salad was drowned in dressing. He did say the rice was good. Overall it was better than store bought but we definitely have had better for cheaper prices. The menu said happy hour until close and that sushi was not half off. Definitely not worth the tab.

Aloha Hawaiians, I had a craving for sushi, I visited a familiar haunt of mines. This was the first Japanese restaurant I discovered in Az. Today fried calamari to start. Then, I moved on to the 2 roll special for lunch great prices. I also had the yellowfin sashimi. I'm glad they are still there a good spot to drop in for a quick lunch. In and out.

Every time we have family in town, I like to bring them here. This neighborhood family restaurant is great. Service is always great, we have always been a well taken care of. We ordered several sushi rolls, our always favorite go to sushi of course are the spicy salmon and spicy tuna. Rainbow roll and dragon roll were always great. Kiss my tuna roll was also another delicious option. Always recommend this place

Came for happy hour after 2pm on Saturday. Sushi was well done and good value but serious gap in service, speed and help, but still good

    Lunch Bento Box
    Heidi B.

Sushi style has really good, fresh sushi! The lunch bento box is amazing, and there are so many different options to choose from and mix and match. I loved the tootsie roll. Everything tastes fresh and the inside of the restaurant is nice and clean. The service wasn't great, the server barely looked at me. I shouldn't have to ask for a refill of water 3 times. I was tempted to grab the water pitcher on the other table and just do it myself. The food was great, the service just needs improvement, but I will be back to try again!

I had a bunch of sushi rolls and everything was delicious. Service was great always had our cups filled, constantly clearing away the table so you didn't feel like you had a stack of plates and overall just a beautiful atmosphere. Wasn't crowded at all for the dinner area but the bar was packed. They have happy hour. By 6 pm it was full and packed everywhere. Parking is plentiful. We did the chicken shrimp and the New York strip. The mushroom soup is very delicious, the salad dressing felt like it was missing something. The rice was phenomenal so yummy and full of flavor. I like their ginger seafood dipping sauce, but I absolutely cannot stand Dijon taste, and that's what they use for their meat, a mustard sauce. I really wish there was an alternative. The meat seemed to be cooked well and the steak to my boyfriend's liking, flavor was good. We got Lucky to try a sample of the Seabass and holy moly!!! literally melting butter in your mouth! Definitely regretful for our choices and next time we come in, it's Seabass all the way no fishy taste, again just melts in your mouth I wasn't in the mood for the pineapple Dole Ice Cream a bit sweet but definitely can be refreshing from the heat. I got their salmon sushi, and it was good and a decent cut (5$ each on happy hour) My boyfriend got their Japanese whiskey and he enjoyed it. He just said there was a lot of ice. There was one open seat at our table, and I couldn't imagine squeezing another person in. there was even a child sitting at our table and it still felt like we were on top of each other. We were a party of 12 visiting on vacation, and none of us are from the area. We ordered spam musubi and a chicken skewer as appetizers. Both appetizers arrived well after our entrees had already been served and we had essentially finished eating. Each time we asked about them, we were repeatedly told, "They're coming." Mind you, these are simple appetizers that should not take anywhere near that long to prepare. When we asked for the third time, we finally asked that the appetizers be cancelled since we had already finished our meal. At that point, the gentleman working the front area , tall, with red hair, loudly yelled from across the restaurant, in an extremely rude and confrontational tone, "It's already on the grill!" There was absolutely no reason to speak to paying customers that way. His response was unprofessional, unnecessary, and honestly created a very hostile and uncomfortable feeling during what should have been an enjoyable dinner, especially while our group was on vacation and simply trying to enjoy a meal together. When the appetizers eventually came out, we left them sitting there because we were already done eating and ended up taking them to go. He eventually told us they would be removed from the bill, which we appreciated, but that did not excuse the way the situation was handled. Again, the food was good, but good food does not make up for poor service and especially not for an employee speaking to customers in an aggressive and disrespectful manner. Management should seriously address how customers are treated, because the interaction with this particular employee overshadowed what could have otherwise been a good dining experience for our party of 12.
