guess this place has been here for a while but first time trying and i'll be back! arrived during happy hour which was a pleasant surprise! everything tasted so good and flavorful. the waiter was friendly but never stopped too often. i could tell the families were hitting up hh since there were quite a bit of kids...didn't bother me (i was happy not to have mine though lol!) the restaurant is pretty big so sound doesn't carry too much - i couldn't hear everyone's conversations which was nice. read more

Dragon sushi (eel and avocado) Banana tempura with green tea ice cream Take what I say with a grain of salt - my standard for sushi is sushi in Japan. Sushi was okay (sorry) Both mid. Oil for tempura could've been more fresh and banana could've been more brown for more flavor. I enjoyed it for the texture more than anything Staff was very nice and the ac was excellent, spacy and breezy inside. read more

I do love a spicy tuna handroll but my fault, I didn't read the Negi Tori hand roll ingredients and missed the kizami wasabi which was more like killer wasabi. It was too much. After the burn, everything else was just a blur. I think I got the Blue Moonlight but could hardly taste it after the handroll. I did go back the next day to try again and this time got the Rock & Roll and the Blue Moonlight with gyoza. Great experience, wonderful service, and good price for all. read more

When hanging with friends, I always try to take their recommendations for dinner because it usually leads me to places they genuinely adore. I got to hang out with one of my friends from college who was in town for winter break in the Round Rock area, and he suggested Sushi NiNi for dinner. We arrived around 6:30 pm during their extended happy hour, which lasts until 7 pm, and were seated immediately. I very rarely eat sushi, but I have enjoyed what I've had in the past. As my friends ordered, they clearly knew what they were doing, so I followed their lead. One friend ordered a Spider Roll, while my other friend ordered nigiri of the salmon and snapper along with a Volcano Roll. I copied him. The nigiri was great, but I really enjoyed the flavor and kick from the Volcano Roll. The spicy mayo and jalapeños added a nice heat and balanced well with the shrimp. I also liked the crunch. After that, I sent in another order to try the nigiri of the grilled eel, which was heavenly. I have never had eel before, and it absolutely floored me with its flavor. I could easily eat five orders of it. The staff was attentive throughout our visit. One staff member somehow accidentally served my friend a glass of soy sauce instead of unsweetened tea, which was absolutely hilarious to me, so I don't really have anything to complain about. I have no idea how that mix-up happened, but maybe the soy sauce refill container looks similar to their tea containers and sits nearby. Either way, it was very funny. I hope to return to Sushi NiNi in the future because the sushi was excellent and fairly priced. I don't think I paid over $30 for everything I ordered, and it all tasted fresh and well prepared. They do it right here. For being all seafood, it's not too fishy. RIYL: Good sushi for a good price read more

I have had an issue with ordering take out via Uber from Sushi Nini every single time. Whether it is an item is missing, or even receiving an entirely wrong order, like I did last night. The most bizarre part was that my receipt upon delivery had my phone number and Name, but said DoorDash on it. I have never used DoorDash in my life, so how is that even possible? The sushi is good, so I need to make it in there to experience the restaurant. But the take out experience needs some work. read more

No complaints here. The service we were provided was outstanding. Our server even asked if I were sharing my hot sake with her. But seriously, all the dishes we ordered were delicious from the tako yaki, chicken karaage, agadashi tofu to the sushi. It was all above par. Though they were quite busy, even for a Tuesday night, quality in everything did not diminish! Thank you, Sushi Nini, for making my birthday dinner a memorable one. read more

So yummy tasty! Very fair lunch and dinner specials with reasonable prices on regular hour sushi's. Avocado bomb is my favorite. The marked spicy rolls aren't very spicy but I like heat so that could just be me. The servers are so kind and attentive. I misunderstood the NiNi Roll and the NiNi California roll so be sure to look closer because I didn't :p Nini California Roll is still super good Rolls here are pretty big! This place has Tv's everywhere and a sushi bar and also a standard bar. It's cute and they play nice music if spots isn't on. read more

Enjoyed lunch other patio twice now. Their lunch specials are excellent, their service is great, and the fish is fresh. Today I tried a chirashi bowl ($30). I usually get this at most sushi places and didn't have the highest expectation but it was excellent, unique, had delicious seasoned rice, and the pieces of fish were large. I would 100% get this again! Their tempura is always fried perfectly too. Never greasy. A+ experience. read more

I came here because I really wanted sushi and my normal place was too far. This place had good reviews and is near my house. I was seated quickly, and read the many options. Maybe I didn't choose the best rolls but the sushi was just ok. I also got seaweed salad, sake, and lychee martini all of which I've had better versions of. There was a football game playing in the background and the waiters were distracted by this so they were not as attentive as they could have been. I would try this place again to see if there were better/other sushi rolls I may like as they do have so many options, but I would skip the appetizers and drinks. read more

I recently went here with a friend. I had been wanting some good sushi and she took me here. It was pretty chill when we first got there. Not too many people even though it was happy hour . Our appetizers were amazing! The boat contains a variety of different options just can't remember them lol. It was soooooooooooo delicious! We couldn't even finish the whole thing! I got lucky to take tit home to have later. The service was good as well. Our waitress was attentive and helped me. I can't wait to go back ! read more

Nini is always a solid choice for fresh, flavorful sushi. The Kani Sticks and spicy edamame? Favs. My go-to rolls are the Blue Moonlight and Fiesta Roll, and honestly, anything with their cilantro sauce is a must try. It takes the flavor to the next level! If you're bringing the kids, their bento boxes with teriyaki chicken are always a hit. Great food, chill vibe, and friendly service. read more

This is the best sushi in the Austin area hands down. I get the spicy tuna roll with avocado and spicy mayo, Godzilla roll, tuna dynasty (with avocado), unagi and salmon nigiri. I wanted to like Sushi NiNi, but my first experience was disappointing. I ordered online for pickup and opened the food inside the restaurant before leaving. The noodles were completely plain--no sauce at all. My daughter immediately said she wasn't going to eat them because of how they looked. I politely asked if the noodles could be removed from my order. The staff went to get a manager, who offered to add sauce--but only teriyaki. When she brought it out, she made a point to say (in front of other customers) that the sauce normally costs $1 but she would "just give it to me today." That comment felt unnecessary and honestly humiliating with people watching. Even with the sauce, my daughter still refused to eat the noodles since they were originally prepared plain. I do appreciate the attempt to fix the issue, but the way it was handled made me feel uncomfortable. I really wish there was more awareness and sensitivity, especially for individuals with sensory needs or specific food preferences. A little more understanding and better communication would go a long way. Unfortunately, this experience makes me hesitant to return. read more

I can't get enough of sushi nini! I'm glad they have added a few things to the menu! I ordered to go this time and it did not disappoint. I had the TNT roll 5/5 - this roll had all the textures flavors and sauces I enjoy! The fiesta roll is my new go too! 5/5 The geisha roll 4/5 - had a bit of an odd flavor but still pretty good. Asparagus roll 5/5 there's not much to it but still very good and great price point! The food was ready quickly after I ordered there was no waiting around after I arrived. The staff at the front is always great and quick to do what's needed for their guests. read more

Was greeted happily and sat immediately by host. Our server, Binh, was considerate and took our order promptly. We ordered a Spicy Leprechaun, Volcano Roll, and a Dragonfly roll and the spring rolls. Spring rolls were small but tasty (they were fresh out the fryer so very hot first few bites ) The Spicy Leprechaun and volcano rolls were our favorite. The dragonfly roll was good but nothing that we'd just feel we'd have to order again in the future. Lots of TVs on each wall playing NFL football. read more

I really like the food here and the service is always solid, but I have to call this out: there are no changing stations in either restroom. If you're providing high chairs and welcoming families with young kids, it's really not acceptable to have zero accommodations for diaper changes. It's inconvenient, frustrating, and honestly feels like an oversight. This place has a lot going for it, but if you're a parent, be warned--come prepared. I hope they fix this soon, because it's a simple upgrade that would make a big difference. read more

Sushi nini has been one of my favorite sushi spots for a long time. The service is always really nice and light. It does feel more like a sports bar atmosphere than a get together place. But their food makes it worth it! Their fish quality is always top notch. I love their sauces, they are very thought out and have amazing flavor. They have some really interesting roll recipes as well. Amazing happy hour features a bunch of their rolls, nigiris and alcohol. Mango Madness has always been my absolute favorite roll. Let me say I haven't been since the fire or the pandemic. Happy hour? Seems to be gone. Reverse happy hour. Distant fond memories. We went here bc of hh and since it wasn't there we ordered what we used to get. House salad adding tuna was amazing. Mount fuji was a lot smaller and pricey than it used to be. Dynamite roll was advertised as spicy, it was sweet. Sadly. I used up all my Wasabi searching to add spice. Hubby had the chicken teriyaki noodles he said they were rubbery. Spicy tuna roll, never disappointed in that one! Off to try a few new places in town. Hopefully the hh will return. read more

I think the entire restaurant is nut allergy friendly, the waitress didn't seem to be concerned. Quite a large dining area that was packed at 6:30PM on a Friday evening. Even still, we only had a five minute wait for a group of five. The menu is quite extensive. I wasn't too hungry, so I only ordered the Crazy Roll ($12 after tax and tip). They forgot my order, so our group was there watching me eat at the end. We got our orders about 15 minutes after ordering, and I got mine 20 minutes after that (about 5-10 minutes after they noticed that they forgot). I tried my friend's sashimi and found it similarly textured to a thickly cut grocery store sashimi. It was a bit chewy, but not fishy - still somewhat fresh. This sampler seemed quite overpriced; I have had better quality sashimi at AYCE places. My crazy roll had large pieces and varying textures of fish inside. I also got a taste of the Negi Toro Hand Roll, which was maybe a 3.5/5 but mostly because I enjoy the flavor of fatty tuna. I wasn't very impressed by the quality of the fish overall. My friend really enjoyed their tempura shrimp, so maybe give that a shot. read more

Located in the la frontera area of round rock is this great sushi place! They have a really great dine in lunch option and prices overall are really reasonable. We tried the egg rolls and gyoza as appetizers and the hulk roll for the main. Everything was superb. Will definitely be back to try more from the menu.
