The staff here are the most friendly I have ever encountered. The food is great and the coffee drinks are as well. This should be everyones go to in Encinitas.

My wife and I stopped by here for a cappucino and we thought it was a great, indulgent cup of a coffee and a delightful place to drink it. The woman behind the counter who served us was very warm and friendly. When I started to hunt for the wifi password one of the guests kindly told me what it was and where to find it --- so a really nice vibe in the cafe. The decor was standout: one wall painted with flying seagulls. Just what you need from a cafe: a nice respite from the outside world. Their food looked great too --- maybe on the next visit I'll give it a try.

Great coffee, food, and chill vibe. The service was fast, but there was a long line waiting to order. We had a delicious egg and cheese bagel and chocolate croissant. The sauce on the bagel was a little spicy, but so delicious! We will definitely be back soon!

Da kine açaí bowl ... very disappointing

The bowl wasn't filled and I went based on the photo on yelp. Totally disappointed. I've gone to other locations before and was very happy but I wanted to try this place if your going to get a ti go order don't it's not worth it

Let me start by saying...any place that allows dogs inside, welcomes then and HAS A water bowl for the furry cuties, say NO MORE. You can have our money. We immediately were drawn in. Carlos was so friendly! He filled up the water bowl for Pumba and he was hydrated while we enjoyed our breakfast..which was oh so delicious. The Java Hut was POPPIN on a Sunday. Can't speak on parking, because we parked far and walked, get those steps in girl but it is on a busy street in the cute beach town of Encinitas. Love that because you grab yourself a bite to eat. Enjoy the cute ambiance and sit inside OR go take a scenic walk. I did both. The menu is simple, has all the good breakfast tingz. $10 will get you a basic breakfast place. The eggs were delish and the bacon was that real thick cut bacon. Beautiful location and we would definitely be back!

I got an iced coffee with vanilla, could not taste any of the vanilla. But I also got the local's sandwich and the breakfast burrito and they were so delicious. My sandwich, on croissant, had tomato and avocado with egg and bacon. The shop was small and service was quick. Definitely recommend stopping in for a quick bite.

A cute place to stop to sit and enjoy some coffee. Wouldn't recommend ordering food if you're in a hurry. A take out order for a bagel and a smoothie took 25+ minutes to be ready. The coffee au lait part of the order was prepared right after we paid which was nice to have while we waited. The everything bagel + cream cheese was standard, and from a New Yorker's perspective, light-handed with the cream cheese. Overall a nice place to sit with a coffee and company. Not the place to go if you're in a hurry to grab and go with something quick.

    Coffee

Very friendly staff, coffee is a bit acidic and a tad weak like in every coffee shop in usa except Starbucks but they are next level over roasted and too hot. If you want good coffee, make it yourself. The music is a tad outdated and depressing. Great location and atmosphere.

I thought they were maybe danish or croissants and then I was told no what we sell is empanadas. Bacon, ham, sausage and I remember thinking, I have never thought of having an empanada for breakfast or lunch. So yesterday, my curiosity got the best of me and I went in after my walk and bought some. All the flavors that I wanted had been sold out and are sold out every day before 10 AM. OK, reboot. I talked to the lovely lovely women behind the counter and then I think the manager or the owner came up to me and said we can sell them to you frozen and you can heat them up at home. So we did for appetizers last night. OMG! They were without a doubt the best new appetizer we have ever had, we could only eat between us three maybe two, but they were so full of flavor and cheese and a little egg and the meats. It's in a little mall next to VG so easy to find a lot of parking on the street and their lot, the service is nothing but smiles and how can I help? This is a rad place and by the way, the coffee is outstanding.

I do my best to find places that have menu items in place that work already. In this case, I was visiting the area briefly and spotted this local favorite. Great find! Kick-ass staff working their butts off to get food out fast and to order, decent seating, good food and coffee that was a treat! I started across the street at this venue's roasting house because their locale looked nicer, more spacious, further from the road, but their breakfast menu is different. Rather than asking for special treatment there, I walked across the street to the corner café. The only change-up I had to make was swapping out bread for GF. No problem whatsoever. Was going to read, but locals were friendly and social, fine by me. Learned about the area over breakfast, got a little peaceful reading in over the last of my coffee, and now I'm off to adventure as recommended by locals I met here. Though they weren't chatty (No shade! Fine! They're at work!), I can't commend the staff here enough. Tip well. Tip often.
