We stayed at The Anchorage Inn for 1 night (not our first time), but this was my first time at Surf Point 360 on the property of The Anchorage. I really liked the set up of the restaurant with the over view of the water! It was a nice setting. We went for breakfast before doing some shopping on our last day end being a big breakfast person, I was not that impressed. My mom has some new dietary restrictions and the waitress had a hard time understanding what she needed to put her omelette together to the point where I had to break it down for her a few times. I ordered "Maine Blueberry Pancakes" and the batter was dry and the blueberries tasted like the tiny frozen blueberries from the grocery store. Overall, the breakfast service could've been better. I would give the restaurant another chance for a nice dinner, but don't think I'd return for breakfast. read more

This was my absolute favorite meal of our entire vacation. My fiancé and I both ordered steak tips and they were honestly to die for. Really great pina coladas as well. 4.5 stars rounded up. Solid food overall; pretty much everything is done well. It's not a foodie paradise but what they do make usually is done well. The breakfast is very good and reasonably priced. I've had omelets and pancakes and both come out great. Fried haddock sandwich is fresh and not greasy. Other people I know think the lobster roll is excellent. But the standout for me are the mussels. The broth is just an excellent tomato-wine based broth with some mild spiciness, garlic and other herbs-aromatics and white wine perhaps served with crusty garlic bread perfect for dipping. It just cannot be beat. Go up to the top floor bar, enjoy the beautiful views with some mussels, and a nice crisp glass of white wine and I don't think you will do much better for a dining experience in Ogunquit. read more

Window seat with a beautiful view, in addition to a wonderful meal and great service, makes for a perfect night. Lobster and shrimp over linguini could not have been better. NY Strip Steak was perfectly cooked. Add two tropical drinks and you are in paradise. Love this place. read more

My wife and I had a wonderful experience here. We started with the scallops wrapped in bacon with a maple gaze. They were fabulous! The bacon was crispy and the scallops were cooked to perfection. The shrimp and lobster scampi was off the charts. It wasn't a traditional butter, garlic and lemon scampi. It also had diced tomatoes and fresh parsley which took the dish to a whole new level- highly recommend. The wait staff was courteous and efficient and the atmosphere was very nice. The drinks were good- I got the goombay smash, but $10 a drink is a little pricey for Maine. The rest of the food was ok, I got a Cajun chicken blt sandwich. I ate at this restaurant last evening. In the past the meals have been superb. Not last evening. I ordered the steak medium. It came to the table well done. Dry beyond belief. The accompanying baked potato was cold. I am not the type to usually complain about the food but I brought it to the attention of our waiter. I asked that he inform the chef about the well done steak. He returned to the table and said the owner? replied that it would not happen again HUH! No compensation was offered, no complimentary dessert or anything. I was very disappointed in their lack of concern regarding this matter. I am not sure why bad reviews. This is an excellent restaurant with excellent service anc the view is just amazing. Dinner with an amazing view with perfect safety measures taken for Covid. It felt extremely safe, tables were separated good distance for us to feel good. Waiters always were wearing masks and very helpful in food selection. Our waiter was Umit and he was so nice. Helped my husband choose a gluten free meal. My daughters are very picky and they were both very happy with their selections as well (burger and lobster Alfredo). My one and only complaint is the salt level. I am a hone cook and I don't cook with much sodium and the food here felt overly salty. Salting it so much does not make it tastier! This review is not for the food, but for the Yelp live waitlist. I was so very excited when I saw the option of the yelp waitlist, so we jumped on that, noting that there were 19 parties ahead of us. When we showed up at the time scheduled, we were brusquely told that they do not honor the yelp live waitlist. Found myself in Ogunquit for the first time in maybe 25 years, and was pleased to discover this place. We were there for a lateish lunch on a Saturday afternoon, and had no problem getting a seat upstairs, where the combination of fans and breeze kept us comfortable as we took in the fantastic view. I had one of the best undressed lobster rolls of my life and my wife had a decent grilled cheese. Servers were friendly and prompt. Next time we're in town we will be heading back! read more

My wife and I were looking for a different place to eat. We live locally and don't usually head into the busy tourist areas in the Summer. Recently we ventured into Ogunquit in December to find the Surf Point 360. They weren't too busy and we got a nice table in front of the fireplace. The food was very good. Service was excellent. Even the nachos were a step above other local restaurants. The building is circular so it's a bit different but very nice. We highly recommend it in the off season. This restaurant gets 5 stars for the amazing service of Wendy and staff. We woke up late for breakfast and we had a coupon for a free meal which we were going to lose. In a desperate plea (after a great night out, check out Main Street because it's a good time) we were in desperate need of some eggs, bacon and Mimosas. Although we were a few minutes past the deadline they accommodated us and were sweet as pie the entire time. We told Wendy that we wanted to get costumes for a Halloween party that night and not only did she make compelling recommendations as to where we could go, but got a costume store on the phone for us to see if they had a decent selection for us to make the drive. We so appreciate the hospitality and the welcoming attitude (especially since she probably had to stay past her shift to accommodate us.) The anchorage by the sea resort surprised us all over the winter by building a several million dollar 2 story glamorous pavilion with the best & most spectacular view in town of the "number one beach in New England" and top 10 in the world "beautiful place by the sea" Ogunquit, Maine. The construction and architecture is orchestrated on an exceptional level- very clean & classy. The staff is superbly friendly & what you expect in Maine!! Takes time when busy...hello....and we are not in NYC - yay!!!there is a delightful new waiter named JJ as the season just picked up...and he made excellent drinks and made each of his guest feel lovely! The drink menu has all kinds of fun cocktails- and the small plates menu for the upstairs 360, which is all I am reviewing, is delicious and perfectly elegant & healthy beach light with a few heavier things too. Including a photo. I love love the Tuna sashimi crostini with watercress & bacon wrap scallops! And the prices with this view! Wow! $11-$12!! The only thing I would change is the cheesy lounge lizard music...even old people like chill out ambient dance trax & cool stuff...these days/ remember 50 is the new 30! And this is a hip place for classy 40 plus crowd with sophisticated taste...the drink menu & food menu reflect this already- and the couple of visits I have been here the servers were all very sharp and interesting too! Do not waste your time and money eating here. We had drinks upstairs, which were ok, but the view is amazing. We went downstairs for dinner and the food was awful. Appetizers tasted like they were from a run-down pub. I ordered caesar salad, which left much to be desired. The french onion soup was mediocre. We ordered chicken parm for our entree. It was totally inedible, I spit it out in my napkin. The worst part ..... it was pricey and we had to pay for the chicken parm. We stayed and wells but went to kennebunk port and ogunquit for food and shopping we went to surf point 360 one night when we were in ogunquit the food was great for there of us and one said that there's was just ok she recommended to stay away from the eggplant parm but the lobster roll the chicken Parm and the spinach salad were all good and the place had a fantastic view with the bar on the second floor having an even better one all and all it was a good dining experience read more

Saw this place as we were walking near our hotel in Ogunquit. The setting right on the ocean was beautiful. We were going to a show at the playhouse so we needed to eat early, but that worked to our advantage. Their wine list was good and had many reasonable prices bottles of wine. My wife had the lobster rangoons for an appetizer. She loved them. I had had the bruchetta with goat cheese and argula. Awesome. We each had the lobster and shrimp scampi. Lots of lobster and shrimp. After walking the Marginal Way my wife and I stopped by their second deck lounge for cocktails. The lounge overlooks the ocean and is well appointed. We found the pours and prices to be reasonable. We enjoyed it so much we returned for dinner that evening. Our server was attentive and checked back with us several times during our stay. I always stay at the Anchorage when I'm in Ogunquit and just love the view and relaxing vibe at the 360. The staff are always great and the food is nothing fancy but always done well. We were lucky to be able to sit outside on an October evening, it was 80 degrees. Had an incredible view of the ocean and a great meal. Probably the best meal we had all week. Location is beautiful and the food was okay, but the service was terrible. We were seated in an empty restaurant 6" from a turned on fireplace with the sun directly on the eyes of half of our party. Our waitress said this was the only table for a party of 8. The waitress did not bring bread, despite asking 3 times and we finally flagged someone else down. She forgot and got incorrect items from 2 orders. And they claimed a dish was gluten free, but it was not making a member of our party sick. Unfortunately this is a low rating for this restaurant and bar....we were taking weekend guests for drinks on the upper deck and dinner......and.....guess what??? .......we were denied parking !!!!! We are full time residents and loyal patrons.... But not welcomed during July and August when visitors are around??? Why not have valet parking like other restaurants ??? Two more suggestions.....get rid of the America's Choice ketchup on the tables ......and the dirty cleaning rags from the tables hanging out of the servers back pockets." We frequently dine here as we did last night. Our server was wonderful as were 2 out of the three meals we ordered. Unfortunately one of the orders which was broiled scallops was VERY UNDERCOOKED.. we had told waitress at the time we ordered we wanted scallop dishes well cooked. Upon receiving my order we relayed to waitress they were undercooked. She was wonderful and took them back to be cooked more. After getting them back ( two other diners we already finished with their meals) we again found the scallops to still be very undercooked and now crumbled topping was no longer there. As the bus boy was clearing other plates he reached for my still untouched dinner, I tried to explain they were still not cooked enough. He smiled and took my plate away.( I do not think he understood English very well). When our waitress returned with our check we told her of what had occurred. She remained very kind and said she would get her manager. This proved to be fruitless as the manager Bordered on being rude telling us we should have told our waitress and not the bus boy..we explained we were trying to make that happen but he appeared not to understand. Manager continued to repeat " you should have told your server and not the bus boy" totally ignoring our explanation. She went on to say being VERY ABRUPT AND DISCOURTEOUS , THERE WAS NOTHING SHE COULD DO. Days of dining here are DONE! Bad enough food went untouched YET PAID FOR, but to be spoken to the way we were by this woman is totally unacceptable. read more

When someone finally remembered that we were there they brought menus and said they would be right back to take our order. After another 10 minutes, during which our server stood around with his hands in his pockets, but did not come serve us, we left. This place was terrible. We stayed at the resort in which it is situated and decided to have dinner there rather than wander too far. The restaurant is brand new and was very visually appealing with great ocean views. We put our names in for dinner and it was suggested we have a quick drink in the bar upstairs while we wait for a table. The bar has a great panoramic view of the ocean and had several open tables but we were told that we could only have appetizers upstairs. Why not let people eat dinner? We were greeted by a bartender who looked like she wanted us to go away. She seemed overwhelmed despite the lack of a crowd. We waited for a drink that never came and ended up being sat for dinner downstairs in a drafty spot next to the hostess station. When I asked how long it would take for a different table, the hostess looked at me like I had 3 heads and said 45 minutes. 15 minutes later we noticed more desirable empty tables sitting unturned waiting to be cleaned while hostesses chatted at their station. I order the lobster pie which was $27 and my wife ordered the lobster alfredo which was $23. Our food took a really long time to come out, and when it did, we were not happy. The less expensive alfredo had far more lobster than my lobster pie, which was also a bit misleading in my opinion. The pie consisted of a small dish of lobster chunks and cracker crumbs accompanied by rice and veg, which was not mentioned at all on the menu. The lobster in the alfredo was overcooked and rubbery. My wife left about half the dish on the plate when she was finished and the waitress came to take it. She didn't ask if she could wrap it up but we kind of assumed she would seeing there was so much left. Nope! When she returned with the bill, we asked about the alfredo and she told us that she threw it away. We were offered a free dessert to make up for it but were full and ticked off and said no. We heard another couple complaining to the hostess that their entire experience was terrible. So was ours. We paid $100 for bad service, overcooked food and a pretty lousy overall experience. They really need to get their act together. Take my advice, eat elsewhere. read more

I honestly want to like this place. It's beautiful, right on the water, great view. But all of that is lost because of the HORRIBLE service you get. We walked in and were told it was a 30-40 minute wait. We were willing to wait so we went upstairs to get a drink. We sat at a table with a delicious martini with a great view and 45 minutes later we were buzzed. Half of our 4 person party went downstairs to get the table and the hostess said they buzzed us on accident. So we tried to ask if we could go back upstairs because we didn't want to lose the table we had upstairs (since the other half got up to settle our drink bill upstairs) and the hostesses including the manager couldn't get it together. They bantered back and forth for a few minutes and finally we decided to go upstairs to resume sitting at our table. When we were finally buzzed and sat at our table it took an hour before we even got any food at the table and somehow the appetizer came out before the salads. And when we mentioned it, the salads still took 20 minutes longer before they came out. I honestly would keep your money and go to the Front Porch which is less expensive and a great atmosphere. You can overlook the ocean anywhere, don't let this place fool you. I'm doing you a favor telling you to turn around and go somewhere else if you're looking for dinner! read more
