We frequently dine here as we did last night. Our server was wonderful as were 2 out of the three meals we ordered. Unfortunately one of the orders which was broiled scallops was VERY UNDERCOOKED.. we had told waitress at the time we ordered we wanted scallop dishes well cooked. Upon receiving my order we relayed to waitress they were undercooked. She was wonderful and took them back to be cooked more. After getting them back ( two other diners we already finished with their meals) we again found the scallops to still be very undercooked and now crumbled topping was no longer there. As the bus boy was clearing other plates he reached for my still untouched dinner, I tried to explain they were still not cooked enough. He smiled and took my plate away.( I do not think he understood English very well). When our waitress returned with our check we told her of what had occurred. She remained very kind and said she would get her manager. This proved to be fruitless as the manager Bordered on being rude telling us we should have told our waitress and not the bus boy..we explained we were trying to make that happen but he appeared not to understand. Manager continued to repeat " you should have told your server and not the bus boy" totally ignoring our explanation. She went on to say being VERY ABRUPT AND DISCOURTEOUS , THERE WAS NOTHING SHE COULD DO. Days of dining here are DONE! Bad enough food went untouched YET PAID FOR, but to be spoken to the way we were by this woman is totally unacceptable. read more

This place was terrible. We stayed at the resort in which it is situated and decided to have dinner there rather than wander too far. The restaurant is brand new and was very visually appealing with great ocean views. We put our names in for dinner and it was suggested we have a quick drink in the bar upstairs while we wait for a table. The bar has a great panoramic view of the ocean and had several open tables but we were told that we could only have appetizers upstairs. Why not let people eat dinner? We were greeted by a bartender who looked like she wanted us to go away. She seemed overwhelmed despite the lack of a crowd. We waited for a drink that never came and ended up being sat for dinner downstairs in a drafty spot next to the hostess station. When I asked how long it would take for a different table, the hostess looked at me like I had 3 heads and said 45 minutes. 15 minutes later we noticed more desirable empty tables sitting unturned waiting to be cleaned while hostesses chatted at their station. I order the lobster pie which was $27 and my wife ordered the lobster alfredo which was $23. Our food took a really long time to come out, and when it did, we were not happy. The less expensive alfredo had far more lobster than my lobster pie, which was also a bit misleading in my opinion. The pie consisted of a small dish of lobster chunks and cracker crumbs accompanied by rice and veg, which was not mentioned at all on the menu. The lobster in the alfredo was overcooked and rubbery. My wife left about half the dish on the plate when she was finished and the waitress came to take it. She didn't ask if she could wrap it up but we kind of assumed she would seeing there was so much left. Nope! When she returned with the bill, we asked about the alfredo and she told us that she threw it away. We were offered a free dessert to make up for it but were full and ticked off and said no. We heard another couple complaining to the hostess that their entire experience was terrible. So was ours. We paid $100 for bad service, overcooked food and a pretty lousy overall experience. They really need to get their act together. Take my advice, eat elsewhere. read more

I can't comment on the food or the drinks because we sat there for 15 minutes with no service. When someone finally remembered that we were there they brought menus and said they would be right back to take our order. After another 10 minutes, during which our server stood around with his hands in his pockets, but did not come serve us, we left. We are staying here for two nights and I hope this is not indicative of the service offered by the rest of the property. read more

I honestly want to like this place. It's beautiful, right on the water, great view. But all of that is lost because of the HORRIBLE service you get. We walked in and were told it was a 30-40 minute wait. We were willing to wait so we went upstairs to get a drink. We sat at a table with a delicious martini with a great view and 45 minutes later we were buzzed. Half of our 4 person party went downstairs to get the table and the hostess said they buzzed us on accident. So we tried to ask if we could go back upstairs because we didn't want to lose the table we had upstairs (since the other half got up to settle our drink bill upstairs) and the hostesses including the manager couldn't get it together. They bantered back and forth for a few minutes and finally we decided to go upstairs to resume sitting at our table. When we were finally buzzed and sat at our table it took an hour before we even got any food at the table and somehow the appetizer came out before the salads. And when we mentioned it, the salads still took 20 minutes longer before they came out. I honestly would keep your money and go to the Front Porch which is less expensive and a great atmosphere. You can overlook the ocean anywhere, don't let this place fool you. I'm doing you a favor telling you to turn around and go somewhere else if you're looking for dinner! read more

This place is a must go for afternoon / evening drinks. Food is ok, drinks could be more diverse, but view is amazing. The architect and team did a fantastic job on this space, it elevates the anchorage to the best of the best in ogunquit. It's 21 and over only so it's an oasis. read more

Thoroughly enjoyed our dinner. Excellent food, prompt and friendly service, and a nice view. My wife and I split the PEI mussels. I had the Shrimp and Lobster scampi. She had the crab cakes. And we split a blueberry pie with ice cream as desert. I also had the Espresso martini. Everything was excellent. read more

So disappointed in our expensive meal tonight. We have been coming to the Anchorage for many years so were pleased to hear they had built a new restaurant. We had a poor experience. Our rolls were still frozen on the inside and chewy on the outside like bread that has been heated in a microwave. My lobster tail was stuck in its shell and black when pried out. Our waitress just disappeared when a problem came up. Never brought new rolls and didn't ask if the problem was solved after we spoke to the manager. We did have a nice experience with the hostess who got us a table when the place was quite full. Hopefully their problems will be cleared up before we come back to Maine next year. read more

Recently had breakfast here after staying at the Anchorage and was quite pleased! I believe our waitress's name was Wendy and she was very friendly and attentive. We got a table with a beautiful ocean view and coffee was served seconds after we sat down! The food was delicious - I ordered the oatmeal with a fruit bowl on the side it was was wonderful. The atmosphere was lovely and there was nice music which is something I really enjoyed. Overall it was a very pleasant dining experience and the menu had something for everyone! read more

All they have is a view. Went out with my lady's for drinks but we didn't even make it inside for what looked like a manager to announce to us in a negative tone you will have to show your IDs when you get upstairs. As this was some club that you show your ID before you get in the bar and get stamped. Being a local and have gone here before took me my by surprise because it's more a bar setting than how the gentleman made it sound at the entrance. We get upstairs. Then we hear someone running upstairs behind us and it's the same gentleman only to tell to the bartender to ID us. (That's what bartenders do like rule #1) He did this right behind one of my girlfriends so he wasn't trying to keep hidden it was just plain rude. We are younger but all 27, no need to make us feel like we all did. If you were that worried about our age check our IDs yourself. We all looked at each other and if we all didn't want a drink so bad we probably would have left, we also by than wanted to show our IDs. Our waiter comes to the table finally after almost 10 minutes (they were not busy) because he was probably being told to ID us. Was not professional almost felt as was annoyed with us. I ordered an app and when he dropped it at the table all of our drinks where down to ice this is usually when a waiter would ask if wanted another round but nope didn't ask till after picked up my plate. Yes, didn't come back to ask how the app was. Feel like for the price of drinks and food the service should be 150% better. read more

Visited Surf Point 360 second floor lounge several times in September 2015. This is a brand new building at Anchorage by the Sea in Ogunquit. We found the view to be outstanding. The service was excellent. One time we had dinner up there. I had the lobster roll and my wife had the spinach salad with grilled marinated chicken. Both dishes were excellent. We highly recommend 360 for its service, drinks, and food. read more

I have been to this restaurant several times over the past six years. I had the worst experience yesterday when my husband and I took a road trip for our one- year Anniversary. The waiter came over and took our order, two drinks and an order of nachos. Ten minutes later came over and asked if he had taken our order yet. He eventually brought our drinks over. After 45- minutes I flagged down another waitress to have her check on our nachos. Our original waiter then yelled to me across the bar (we were at a table) I forgot to put them in do you still want them? .....Really? He brought the order over and said he totally forgot. We were on a time crunch of an hour and a half max since we had an hour drive to be back and make other plans we had. We finished our nachos and had to try to flag down another waitress to being our bill over. I was not impressed and not sure if we will return here. If we do I will be sure to request another waiter. read more

Went to Ogunquit this past weekend with my Fiance to take engagement photos. We had heard the Anchorage built a new restaurant and of course wanted to try it. Oh jeez where do I begin. We had 8:30 reservations and when we arrived at 8:20 and walked in and saw many open tables we thought "eh we wont have to wait" nope very strange they sent us upstairs to the bar to wait for our table which took 20min, so now its passed 8:30. Once we sat down i ordered a glass of pinot noir and when the waitress came back with it, she presented me with white wine.... really as you were walking back you didnt realize you were carrying a glass of white and not red. Ok so for our apps we ordered the lobster wontons which were ok and a salad with balsamic vinaigrette and again when she came back with the salad it had a side of white dressing, i assume ranch. So now 2 things wrong. For dinner I got the broiled scallops which came with rice and vegetables. Just awful! the scallops were not broiled, the rice was sooo over cooked and the vegetables were smothered with oil. I could only eat 2 scallops and that was it. My Fiance ordered the undressed lobster roll. He said it was fine but the fries were bad. For the money there are soooo many better places to go in Ogunquit. They really need to get their service and food in order if they want to survive. Such a shame because the view is beautiful. read more

We have been staying at the Anchorage for a number of years so we decided to try this brand new restaurant. In short, the food was OK and the service was very disappointing. Since we were a party of seven, I made a reservation. I also checked in on the day of our dinner and asked how they set up a table for seven, including a high chair. I was told they would set up a nice table and she pointed to the ocean view side of the restaurant. When we arrived, we were seated on the pool/parking lot side - very disappointing. The food did not come out at the same time - when one seafood dish arrived the plate was extremely hot from sitting under the heat lamps. Our young waitress tried, but it was obvious she had not received any training. Here is a quick list of her mistakes: she was chewing gum; she stood in one place while taking our order - some people had to shout across the table; when the drinks arrived, she handed some people their drinks instead of placing them on the table; she started clearing dishes before everyone completed their entrée; she offered coffee and desert while some people were still eating their entrée! We will not return the Surf Point 360 for dinner - there are many other great restaurants in Ogunquit. read more
