Gave this place a try since we were staying at the hotel. Place looks really nice and seems clean. Our waiter was great. Friendly and fast. However when we first arrived there was no one in front of us and we had a party of 8. Requested indoors due to the day being cold and windy and having 4 kids was going to be a bit cold sitting out. After waiting about 40 mins or so the hostess lady in front seated us outside anyways when we requested indoor dining. She gave us a buzzer that did not work. I decided to check with her once after waiting 35 mins and saw many empty tables. She told me when something becomes available she will let us know. After 5 mins or so she comes and gets us and said I been trying to buzz you forever and you never came. We were then seated in seats that were empty for the whole time. So finally we sat and ordered. Food came fairly fast but got cold even faster and was nothing special just breakfast food, however the lobster Benedict did look good and good amount of lobster. The food all got cold very fast due to higher winds and chilly morning. So nothing really tasted good. The best part was the hot chocolate we ordered for the kids. Stayed at the resort and ended up eating here twice due to the view (first time) and the rain (second time). There aren't too many spots which can beat this breathtaking view! It is only two stories but seems a lot higher due to the cliffside location. View-wise, I'd say this place or the MC Perkins Cove would be among the best in Ogunquit. As the views are spectacular, the tables with the view are hard to come by. They have a few 4 seater tables and then high tops behind them. The 4 seater are lounge chairs with a low table making eating hard ... If you order salad or soup, it's impossible to eat without putting your plate on your lap. The menu is pretty sparse ... Both times I had a burger because there wasn't much seafood on the menu surprisingly. It's kind of Asian-fusian meets American with some odd choices thrown in such as the big meatball. Nothing we got really wow'ed us, but we were there for the view vs. the food. The burger was quite good. Cooked perfectly each time and with a good flavor. The lettuce used was a wilty entire ear of romaine. Would MUCH prefer iceberg. Others at the table ordered the Asian salad, which was not good. The fish and chips were so-so. The meatball was strange and actually a single medium sized meatball ... sauce tasted like ketchup. And finally, the bacon wrapped scallops were very chintzy. Great maple bacon flavor but 3 smallish scallops were not filling. The fries were the frozen/bagged seasoned fries variety ... I'd prefer fresher but in fairness, others at the table loved the fries. The best part is that we didn't feel rushed in and out. (Maybe not a good thing for those waiting to sit with the view) We were able to linger for a beer or two after. The staff was nice ... slightly clueless at times but in a polite, endearing way. We would come back. The food won't blow you away but the views are great and prices aren't terrible for a resort bar. read more

Where do I start? We had 6:30 reservations for dinner giving us plenty of time to see the fireworks. After arriving we were told that our table wasn't ready. We were told to wait outside. They got back to us after 10 minutes and showed us to our table for six which was on the pool side in the sun. They had a fan blowing warm air right on our table. We asked if we could move to a cooler spot and they eventually accommodated us. That was the ONLY good thing I can say. The waiter took our drink orders and said they were backed up at the bar and the kitchen so service would be slow. We decided that when he brought the drinks we would order our food. Well, after waiting a long time for the drinks we placed our order. Nothing fancy. Salads and burgers. After about 11/2 hours waiting we finally were served. The Caesar salad that I ordered with grilled shrimp was drenched in dressing and the lettuce was soggy and warm. The shrimp were cooked, warm but not grilled. This was the same situation with the other salad order. One person at our table ordered the spinach goat cheese salad with shrimp. The shrimp were not grilled but the goat cheese was overcooked, burnt and hard. The burgers were okay but the fries were cold. 2 people ordered wine with the meals. One glass was fine but the other was very warm as if the bottle had been sitting in the sun. We finally got the check and tried to apply a gift card and pay the balance on a credit card but were told they couldn't do that. Seriously? Location cannot be beat. We sat outside on the lawn, it was a perfect night. It was a little chilly and once the sun sets, it can be hard to see. Some warming towers would be a nice addition to the area. Our server was fantastic, there was 8 of us, 4 kids and he did a great job. The menu was great and drink selection was fantastic. Steaks were over cooked but the rest of the food was good. Portions were really good and they brought the kids' food out first which was great. The calamari app was perfectly cooked. They also brought out a chocolate lava cake and sang happy birthday to me, which was wonderful. Overall, it was a great meal and we'd highly recommend. read more

This restaurant is part of the Anchorage Inn in Ogunquit. Don't try to come here to eat unless you are staying at the Inn. Even if you are handicapped, and have reservations for dinner, they won't allow you to park on the premises during the summer. The Inn has a teenage kid situated at a booth as you drive in who tells you u can't park there. We have our handicapped placard in our window and he told us to go to the public parking lot down the street. Hello - both my husband and I are handicapped! I've been in a few times but recently dined in for lunch on a warm April day with 2 girlfriends and our SIX kids who are rowdy boys. The hostess was gracious in pulling tables together for us and our server handled us so well despite how loud and annoying our kids can be. I visited for Mother's Day Brunch, and it pains me to give such a low review. Surf Point has been our favorite for over ten years, and we visit the Anchorage by the Sea and dine there. It felt like one of the best-kept secrets to enjoy a meal with fantastic views. However, we made reservations yesterday and traveled over an hour to Brunch. The menu was limited and pricey. Upon arrival, we were checked in by an expressionless hostess who shoved the menus on the table and said nothing. We asked for a seat with a view (We were seated at the table behind her station along the wall). She moved us with a huff to a table in front of the hostess stand and door. The waiter took a long time to get to us and it was not busy, I asked for fresh glasses for water with ice as our glasses were covered in finger prints and lip marks. He said he could do that and returned with one glass of ice. Our order did not go any better than our arrival. I ordered a glass of wine, and when it arrived, it tasted as if it had been open for days. I asked that I open a fresh bottle and pour a new glass. 15 minutes later, the waiter arrived with a bottle of wine that was not even the Cabernet that was requested. I said I do not want that wine or a bottle but rather a glass of the California Cabernet as ordered. The manager came over and told me that nothing sits open, that they go through 3-4 bottles a day, and that my glass of wine could not be skunked. He told me that the glass of wine I had ordered they did not have in inventory, and they had swapped out my order for another brand, and then I said well, it's not what I liked. He brought the wine menu over and told me he knew wine and could tell me which one I would like. He got a sample of one for me to taste, which was fine. I ordered a new glass of wine after explaining to the manager that I DID NOT want a bottle but a single glass. The single glass came, and the manager took the time to pour it and decant the glass, so that was appreciated. The meals we ordered were small portions and from a fixed menu. My husband had the fish and chips. The fish was overcooked and had small portions without flavor; my meal was a portobello Wellington, which was a $28.00 meal, a single scoop of mushroom in a yellow sauce served with a gigantic spoon. It was also a small portion and rather bland and certainly would not be anything I would order again. My daughter ordered a salad, which was not any different than years past. The bill came, and we were charged for both glasses of wine, the one that was returned and the one that I was told I would like. The restrooms did not have toilet paper or paper towels, and the trash baskets overflowed. The experience was heartbreaking as we usually enjoy our time at the Anchorage and feel like the personal touches we use to have the eye for detail and the overall friendly, family-owned atmosphere is all but lost. The parking lot was empty, too, but it was supposed for a Sunday afternoon, which was a turnover day. I had visited 2 weeks prior, and it was very quiet. We had a better experience then, but we feel the new ownership and the changes are not for the good. Anchorage will no longer be our Summer vacation spot or restaurant to celebrate our special events. read more

The views of 360 Bar are spectacular overlooking the beach and ocean! What really brought me back to this bar was the bartender, Tony! I wasn't sure what I really wanted to drink so Tony asked what liquor I liked and didn't like. Based on my answers he made me the best Old Fashion I've ever had! Not only did it taste fabulous but he took the time to make it look beautiful. Shaving an orange peal molding it in a sphere that cradled a large cherry. His Espresso martinis are just as good! He shakes it until it becomes frothy and smooth making this indulgent drink even more special. Tony is a true professional- maybe even a mixologist. He takes the time to get to know his patrons tastes in order to create something even more special. What separates this drink artist from other bartenders is his passion and knowledge of how to make the perfect drink! If you go to 360 bar, ask for Tony! You won't regret it!!! read more

Pretty unimpressed with this place. We were here for a convention a few months ago and after the different events people wanted to get some food & have a few drinks. It was about 8PM when a group of us were heading over and they were closing down, but it was confusing because the signs said it was open until 10PM...So we understood that they were closing but it was a huge bummer for a Friday night. It's not their fault that there isn't anything right around them that we could eat/grab a drink at but the people were working were not that nice about the whole ordeal. I had the filet mignon, $34, decent size, cooked perfectly and served with veggies and mashed potatoes. Perfect!! Also ordered were the hazelnut salmon and chicken piccata. We were very happy with the portions, price and taste. You can't beat the views, either. I wish we had been more hungry to try some apps. we've been in and around coastal Maine since 1976 and have a pretty good sense of what to expect from restaurants there from Bar Harbor to Kittery. We went to Ogunquit for an off season visit and arranged a dinner at Surf Point 360. We ordered drinks and apps as well as our mains. Half way through the apps, dinner was served and sat on the table chilling while we finished apps. Strike one. The mains were good but that's it, bland and a bit cool from waiting to be consumed. Strike two. The crowning blow was having staff sweeping the floor and cleaning up to close for the night while we were still eating, along with many other diners.That is just downright unacceptable. there is no difference between summer guests and off seasons guest and both deserve equal treatment. This Restaurant needs to get its act together in short order!! read more

Ten stars for view and location, especially when you stay at the Anchorage. We did apps at the upstairs bar twice, dinner downstairs once and breakfast once. Did not care for breakfast at all and definitely would not do that again. Dinner we ate outside and had a wonderful server. Food was well prepared, but pricey for the portions. Sitting upstairs for drinks and apps cannot be beat. Comfortable chairs and cool breezes coming off the ocean. Perfect place to end a perfect day. read more

Although we weren't staying at the Anchorage, we were staying at a nearby hotel and the receptionist said that guests sometimes eat at Surf Point 360 since it is nearby. So we went there for a late lunch. There were some diners there but not a large number and it didn't seem very busy, although I know that most restaurants now are short of servers and the few that are working can be really busy. The hostess was very nice and told us that it would be about 15 minutes before we could be seated. After 20 minutes we were seated, and the hostess brought us waters, which was great. However, we waited for another 20 minutes and the server never looked our way at all. He went to the tables all around us but never even said "I'll be with you in a few minutes." So we left and found somewhere else up the street that provided great service and great food. The view from the restaurant is beautiful and the food may be delicious - it sounded good on the menu. We would have been willing to wait longer had the server at least acknowledged that we were there. read more

Luckily, we saw the sign for the Surf Point Grill earlier on our trip during a walk on the Marginal Way. It was Saturday night when we decided to try the restaurant out. First of all, the restaurant was a great way for us to see the Anchorage, a resort that we didn't realize was so beautiful. During our brief wait for a table, we were able to stroll to the lawn and take advantage of the beautiful sunset. The hostess and staff seemed to know a lot of the diners--a lot of hugs and handshakes were exhanged, which was great to see. As new customers, we were treated well, with a friendly server and speedy service. We both were in the mood for pasta dishes, and they did not disappoint. Delicious, flavorful plates and healthy portions were delivered to our table. We had seafood for both of our meals, as well as an appetizer. The shrimp, mussles, scallops, and calamari were all fresh and prepared well. The next morning at breakfast, I found myself still thinking about the pasta and seafood from the night before! Make no mistake, this is a restaurant in the middle of a resort, so you're eating next to people who are swimming in the pool or jacuzzi. However, if you wait a little longer for a table facing the ocean, it is worth it. Overall, this was a great experience and we cannot wait to go back next year. read more

I am only giving three starts because 2 and a half isn't an option. The drinks were not worth the title of "signature cocktails" and pretty watered down for $10. What saved this place from a one or two star review was the order of muscles we had was quite good. The muscles and ambiance were in the 3-4 star range but the drinks and service were in the 2 star range. It's such a cool set up and location that it should easily be a 4 star establishment if they put in a little more effort, specifically in their bar department. read more
