Went here on a Wednesday for a blowout. Had just washed and dried my hair just needed a curling iron taken to it. The place was not busy at all. There were four people standing around, floor was a mess not a smile or a greeting from anyone. The woman doing my hair scratched my scalp with a cheap brush and burned it with the hairdryer. 10 minutes later no longer, I was at the check out for $35. I really should have known better. This place might be OK for a men's buzz cut. read more

I seriously loved the kind of attention Helen paid while doing my hair cut. I have lot of inputs on my hair regarding how it should look and how I love to comb - Helen was very patient and did a great job the way I wanted. I would love to go again and again to her for my hair cut as long as I stay in Boston. This is the only time I stepped out with satisfaction on my hair cut in Boston. read more

I have stick-straight hair and get 1-2 inches off when I get a haircut. So it seems pointless for me to spend 30 bucks to get a cut that takes 5-10 minutes. Instead, I go to Supercuts and get a trim for $13.95. If you have low-maintenance hair, you can't beat it. I've never gotten a bad cut here, and it's never taken me more than 20 minutes to get in and out, even during my lunch hour. And hey, Tek gets his hair cut at Supercuts, what more of a recommendation can you ask for? read more

Best Supercuts out there!! Great customer service and amazing staff. I felt so pampered and they listened to what I wanted. I absolutely love my new haircut. Perfect pricing as well. Will definitely be returning here in the future! read more

I came for a basic men's haircut on a weekday morning when there were no customers waiting. I was at the back bay store and there was a old black lady who cut my hair. I described what I was looking for and showed her a picture which I don't think she really even looked at. She gave me a single buzz around the sides and back and did some clipping and within 5 minutes she was asking me what hair product I use and undoing my apron. The haircut was hasty and uneven, and when I got home I noticed there were many stray hairs on the back that she didn't even both to trim. HUGELY DISAPPOINTING. I had to take my own buzzer and even out the two sides myself and get rid of the unsightly stray hairs standing out for the buzz cut on the back... It felt so rushed and there was NOBODY waiting in the waiting area. I don't know if she just didn't care or doesn't know how to properly cut asian hair. Wasn't mean or anything but just felt more like she didn't care at all. read more

Still great, though Helen has moved on to the Supercuts at 101 Summer Street in Downtown Crossing. I'll be posting a review for that location soon! read more

Scary place. Totally hit or miss. Some haircutters are really great. Others stink. Why do that to yourself? It's your hair.

Cheap, quick, decent haircuts. If you come in after work, expect to wait a bit. I've had a couple times when I haven't been thrilled with my haircut, but for $16 + tip and no fuss, it's fine. read more

Worst Hair Salon...Receptionist so rude and the lady who cut my haircut was in such a hurry.Zero stars for Back bay Supercut.Never got to this place. read more

Typically I get excellent haircuts at this location and have never had a complaint. Today I was given a male stylist who in a word botched my hair. I showed a photo, asked for the hair to be cut just below my ear. He cut it so short (not even covering my earlobe) and styled it so incorrectly I burst into tears in his chair. Instead of the bob style I wanted and asked for with a photo...I now have what looks like a shitty grown-out pixie. It is way too short for me to style it the way I wanted. When I told him it was too short he said "it will be fine in a couple of weeks" and "it's just a shock, have you never had short hair before?" I have had short hair in the past, but I was not looking for a botched bob that looks like a grown-out pixie. read more

I have never written a review on yelp before but my experience at supercuts on Boylston was just too good to not share. I usually have a fear of getting haircuts because a request for 2 inches cut off always ends up becoming 5 inches. But Adrianna was super careful with cutting my hair and clarified many times asking exactly how I wanted the haircut. The only strange part was that this was my first time getting a haircut standing up. But overall I am very happy with my haircut. And I will definitely be going back and requesting Adrianna again. read more

This is not the place to go if you need a special hairdo. I think guys have it easier at places this this because it doesnt take much to cut our hair. Its a cheap, in and out haircut and thats what I like. Also before you go check their website because they have $2 off coupons. I have no idea who cut my hair but she was fab-u-lous. She Big ol black lady and said "Ooo boy I gotta stop cuttin for a sec and dance it out!" as beyonce's Irreplaceable came on. It was like I was paying for a haircut and a show. read more

I liked my haircut. Descent haircut. Everything was fine, the wait, the cut and the treatment. the only thing that was weird was that they asked for additional 10 dollars to dry my hair. when I arrived, my hair was dry so I expected leave as I entered. they sprayed water to my hair to make it wet to cut it but at the end I did not expect to leave the store with wet hair. I had a headache for the rest of the day b/c of not drying the hair. read more

As someone who is not willing to pay a fortune for a trim, I'm a huge fan of Supercuts. It's cheap and the stylist I had was quick and a good conversationalist (I think her name was Helen). And I love the cut! I've heard you should make an appointment here, so I did, but they weren't very busy at all (4PM on a Wednesday). Yay cheap haircuts! read more

I have a favorite hair stylist here (that I will not name because I don't wanna share sorry haha). She does a great job every time I come in. I try and make an appointment whenever I can so I don't have to wait - it can get super busy sometimes. But even with appointments you still have to wait 5-10 mins sometimes. Still for a $20 haircut, you can't complain! read more

To be honest, there really isn't anywhere in the city that specializes in kids' haircuts, and I'm kind of glad about that to a certain extent. But it's hard for me to justify spending more than $20 for a child's haircut. I've taken my kid here twice and had two different hair stylists, and it's only $12.95. The stylists were fast, and it's a good haircut. How they are for adults, I don't know, but this location is convenient and seems to be the default for a lot of city parents. Get there before 6 during the week or early on the weekends for minimal wait time. read more

This place is great, and a great value. Mondy does an amazing job - - she makes the Supercuts name seem underrated. She's also super cool, as is most of their staff. Great value. read more

I've gotten my hair cut here about 5 times in the 2 years I've lived in Boston (being a poor college student in the Back Bay, I can't afford a Newbury Street cut). I've had good experiences except for yesterday- Fatima cut my hair, and when I showed her a pic of what I wanted, she didn't cut my hair anything like it. I tried to deal with it, but called over this morning and asked about their "cut fixing policy". Happily, Louise (who is probably the nicest person in the world) fixed my haircut at no charge!! It's still not the exact cut I wanted to start with, but I have a cute a-line bob instead of the layered disaster that the other woman gave me. Thank you, Louise!!!!!! read more

It was around 5:30p yesterday (Saturday) I had just finished some shopping and thought "Why don't I get a haircut?" I saw Supercuts across the street so I went in. I'd never been to one before and the woman working behind the counter was very nice and told me about a 10 minute wait. It took 17 minutes only because there were 4 people ahead of me. I don't remember the womans name who cut my hair but she was very pleasant and did a great job. Worth every penny. I'd highly reccomend this place to anyone. People today complimented me on my haircut. (Hopefully my regular barber doesn't read this I've been going to him for over 30 years). read more

I've never had one bad haircut from this place. It's affordable it's quick and they know how to do my hair I'm a guy I don't know what I want, just make it look good, make it look fashionable and modern. they know what haircut is in style. I've never had one bad haircut from this Supercuts. I've had multiple people work on my hair and every time it's within 15 minutes and they just do it good. Call ahead 10 minutes before so you're not waiting theres usually three or four people in front of you. I just got a terrible haircut from this other barber, who took a solid one hour on my hair and just did a terrible job. And this place fixed it up real good in 15 min no wait. Diana did a great job. Total came to 19 dollars I gave her a 2 dollar tip. read more

Although chain stores sometimes get a bad rep, this one is pretty good overall. The staff were friendly and the lines weren't too long. The decorations were pretty nice, but they sometimes close early so beware. They give you a nicely scented towel down after your hair cut though, so that was pretty nice. Would definitely go again! read more

In a word: Helen! Sweet girl, but even more, she gives a great cut, and she always remembers you and what you want. I have been going to one Supercuts or another for a while now, but now I always go to the Back Bay store and to Helen. I know I will get just the cut I want and look great. read more

Cheap and for a simple guys cut, gets the job done. Call ahead to see how busy they are, because of the location they can get backed up.

Went to get a hair cut and the person shaved the back of my head with the machine, after the hair cut she never put mirror behand my head, that way I would not see the damage see did, stay away from Boylston st store, very bad service read more

The place is disorganized. They don't manage walkins and the online app well. They argue with customers and the haircuts are just average. Youget what you pay for. read more

I used to get my hair cut and high-lighted at expensive hair salons on Newbury Street. When I couldn't get a last-minute appointment there and was desperate to get a haircut, I apprehensively walked into Supercuts where I was assigned to Celora to get my hair cut and high-lighted ... That was over 5 years ago ... I never went back to the expensive hair salons and Celora at Supercuts has become my favorite hair dresser. She cuts and colors my hair as well or better as the high-end salons and at much lower prices!! I only have high praise for her and I recommend her to all my friends. read more

I've read the reviews. Quite honestly, I wasn't a big fan of Super Cuts initially either. However, I found 2 stylists who are GOOD at what they do and they take their time with their clients: Louise (the manager) and Helen (the funniest, sweetest Asian girl!). Ask for either of these ladies and I can GUARANTEE you that you'll go to Super Cuts often and will save TONS of $$$. read more

Place is really hit or miss. It usually get my hair cut here for the convenience factor. It usually comes out good but once or twice i have been more then unimpressed. read more

(At the risk of making the waits to see her even more legendary than they are) hands down, Helen is the best hairstylist I've ever had. Brilliant at her work and putting her best effort in each time (have been enjoying her work for years now--a fantastic track record for my temperamental hair!), there's no one I'd rather trust. The incredible price is icing on the cake. Thank you, Helen! Your art is much appreciated!! read more

The lady who cut my hair this evening was lovely and did a great job! I really love my new haircut and you gave great advice on my grey hairs Thanks read more

Lucia did an awesome job! Probably one of the best cuts I've had in a long time. She was fast, but everything looked even, well tapered, and clean at the end. I've found my new barber. read more

Careful. Some barbers are okay, it is disorganized. Avoid William. He ignores instructions and just does what he wants - to terrible style and customer satisfaction results. read more

I wouldn't come here for coloring services (maybe if it's a touch-up that would be okay). I came in with dark hair and blonde highlights and wanted all around blonde. To be fair to them, I know it can be hard to go from dark brown to blonde but I expected to come out at least a little bit lighter but the first round I came out with the same darkness and my highlights went from golden blonde to white blonde platinum hair (google Targaryen) which is not what I wanted at all. We tried a second time with a golden blonde and while it did remove most of the white platinum my hair was still dark and the highlights looked even darker than when I came in and my roots were a completely different color, a brassy orange that I had to fix elsewhere. My hair was not happy by the end of the day. To top things off, my hairdresser, in trying to remove the hair dye on my forehead, rubbed it so hard that I got a rug burn (see photo attached). I do think she was well-intentioned but I do question the training in regards to coloring. Also, there was someone next to me who was also doing something color-based and was asking my stylist about how to mix, etc. which I think is also concerning. If you can't do it then just say so straight up. I asked for a discount because I didn't get what I wanted, understanding that she still spent time and product and wasn't rude, but she only gave me $10 off. read more

WOW.......................... The fantastic foursome Louise, Celora, Peter, Diana were at the old Brighton Supercuts and are now on Boylston Street it was great to see thier smiling faces again. It's worth the wait call ahead service really works just put your name on the list you wont be disappointed. If it's a hilite, cut or blowout ask for one of these fantastic stylist ... Definitely take advantage of the call ahead option, I did this and skipped the line of people waiting. I didn't have a cut but a blow dry, I have very curly hair and Deb was amazing. She was quick, very friendly and my hair is still beautifully straight the next day. Everyone working was extremely pleasant! I will be back! read more

I've always had mixed experiences at Supercuts, but lately I've been riding the Supercuts sweet spot because I know exactly who to ask for and my hair makes me feel like a rock star every time. If I was feeling completely selfish I'd keep that information safe-guarded but I figure some name dropping would benefit the stylist more than my selfish needs. Ask for Laura, she's super sweet, takes her time, and is extra meticulous. read more

Stylists are always very nice and helpful. Can't beat the price for just a regular men's hair cut. Don't waste your money at a fancy salon.

This Supercuts really means business. There is a TON of talent here. The original reason I tried this place out is because my friend was sporting one of the most beautiful cuts I'd ever seen and recommended that I try it. I was a little hesitant because have a background in cosmetology and I'm incredibly specific about the sort of cut I want, and (like many of us) I have been butchered at salons before. My stylist was (and continues to be) Marisol and she is completely AMAZING. From wash to style, she is unbeatable. She has tons of experience and is extremely confident and competent at all she does. She is meticulous and takes her time, making sure you look absolutely perfect. Her blowouts are also incredible, and last days without frizzing out or going flat. Helen is also fabulous (and adorable), I've been to her for a trim a couple of times when Marisol was not available. For all this, it costs like $30. If you've ever frequented a Newbury street salon, you know what a deal $30 is for a full wash, cut, and blowdry. Definitely would recommend! read more

I usually love going to Supercuts - it's affordable, and they usually do pretty good work. However, the woman who was at the front desk a few minutes ago made me feel like I was wasting her time and was incredibly rude. I'm willing to go to Floyd's and pay the extra $5 not to be treated like I just was. read more

Joyce was very fantastic. She spent a lot of time and explained issues for me. Will go there again definitely.
