Decent place, reasonable price, but why was Marisol so unwelcoming? Another staff member told me to wait a few minutes for my son's haircut. Fine. Then Marisol showed up as she was done with her client. She spoke to me as if I'd done something bad (not taking an appointment?). Then she went to clean up her area. I thought she would come back and pick my son up for his haircut as soon as she was done. But then, an other person walks in - no appointment- and there she takes him! No eye contact with me. Doesn't she like cutting a 10-year old's hair? What's the matter? Her colleague was embarrassed. Finally another (kind) lady took my son. Maybe Marisol is having a bad day but as a customer I shouldn't even guess it. read more

Clearly, you get what you pay for, and I should have known better than a $16.99 haircut. However, I was out running errands and decided to drop in for a quick trim. My hair is straight and very simple to cut; this was not a fancy request! The hairstylist (who had purple hair) acted like she had never given a haircut before. Asked me to stand up during the cut, and then gave me a mirror to check out the back of my hair. It looked uneven! I told her, "It looks uneven to me, " and her response was, "Oh." No offer to remedy it; nothing. The girl at the counter never asked me how my service was. I pulled out my card to pay and she immediately asked about gratuity. I stated that my hair was uneven, and she again didn't apologize or offer a remedy. I grabbed my coat and left in search of another salon. Terrible customer service. I would give this place no stars at all if that were possible. read more

Typically I get excellent haircuts at this location and have never had a complaint. Today I was given a male stylist who in a word botched my hair. I showed a photo, asked for the hair to be cut just below my ear. He cut it so short (not even covering my earlobe) and styled it so incorrectly I burst into tears in his chair. Instead of the bob style I wanted and asked for with a photo...I now have what looks like a shitty grown-out pixie. It is way too short for me to style it the way I wanted. When I told him it was too short he said "it will be fine in a couple of weeks" and "it's just a shock, have you never had short hair before?" I have had short hair in the past, but I was not looking for a botched bob that looks like a grown-out pixie. read more

I have lot of inputs on my hair regarding how it should look and how I love to comb - Helen was very patient and did a great job the way I wanted. I have stick-straight hair and get 1-2 inches off when I get a haircut. So it seems pointless for me to spend 30 bucks to get a cut that takes 5-10 minutes. Instead, I go to Supercuts and get a trim for $13.95. If you have low-maintenance hair, you can't beat it. I've never gotten a bad cut here, and it's never taken me more than 20 minutes to get in and out, even during my lunch hour. And hey, Tek gets his hair cut at Supercuts, what more of a recommendation can you ask for? read more

I've never had one bad haircut from this place. It's affordable it's quick and they know how to do my hair I'm a guy I don't know what I want, just make it look good, make it look fashionable and modern. they know what haircut is in style. I've never had one bad haircut from this Supercuts. I've had multiple people work on my hair and every time it's within 15 minutes and they just do it good. Call ahead 10 minutes before so you're not waiting theres usually three or four people in front of you. I just got a terrible haircut from this other barber, who took a solid one hour on my hair and just did a terrible job. And this place fixed it up real good in 15 min no wait. Diana did a great job. Total came to 19 dollars I gave her a 2 dollar tip. read more

Although chain stores sometimes get a bad rep, this one is pretty good overall. The staff were friendly and the lines weren't too long. The decorations were pretty nice, but they sometimes close early so beware. They give you a nicely scented towel down after your hair cut though, so that was pretty nice. I have never written a review on yelp before but my experience at supercuts on Boylston was just too good to not share. I usually have a fear of getting haircuts because a request for 2 inches cut off always ends up becoming 5 inches. But Adrianna was super careful with cutting my hair and clarified many times asking exactly how I wanted the haircut. The only strange part was that this was my first time getting a haircut standing up. But overall I am very happy with my haircut. And I will definitely be going back and requesting Adrianna again. read more

This is not the place to go if you need a special hairdo. I think guys have it easier at places this this because it doesnt take much to cut our hair. Its a cheap, in and out haircut and thats what I like. Also before you go check their website because they have $2 off coupons. I have no idea who cut my hair but she was fab-u-lous. I used to get my hair cut and high-lighted at expensive hair salons on Newbury Street. When I couldn't get a last-minute appointment there and was desperate to get a haircut, I apprehensively walked into Supercuts where I was assigned to Celora to get my hair cut and high-lighted ... That was over 5 years ago ... I never went back to the expensive hair salons and Celora at Supercuts has become my favorite hair dresser. She cuts and colors my hair as well or better as the high-end salons and at much lower prices!! I only have high praise for her and I recommend her to all my friends. read more

I liked my haircut. Descent haircut. Everything was fine, the wait, the cut and the treatment. the only thing that was weird was that they asked for additional 10 dollars to dry my hair. when I arrived, my hair was dry so I expected leave as I entered. they sprayed water to my hair to make it wet to cut it but at the end I did not expect to leave the store with wet hair. As someone who is not willing to pay a fortune for a trim, I'm a huge fan of Supercuts. It's cheap and the stylist I had was quick and a good conversationalist (I think her name was Helen). And I love the cut! I've heard you should make an appointment here, so I did, but they weren't very busy at all (4PM on a Wednesday). Yay cheap haircuts! read more

I have a favorite hair stylist here (that I will not name because I don't wanna share sorry haha). She does a great job every time I come in. I try and make an appointment whenever I can so I don't have to wait - it can get super busy sometimes. But even with appointments you still have to wait 5-10 mins sometimes. To be honest, there really isn't anywhere in the city that specializes in kids' haircuts, and I'm kind of glad about that to a certain extent. But it's hard for me to justify spending more than $20 for a child's haircut. I've taken my kid here twice and had two different hair stylists, and it's only $12.95. The stylists were fast, and it's a good haircut. How they are for adults, I don't know, but this location is convenient and seems to be the default for a lot of city parents. I've gotten my hair cut here about 5 times in the 2 years I've lived in Boston (being a poor college student in the Back Bay, I can't afford a Newbury Street cut). I've had good experiences except for yesterday- Fatima cut my hair, and when I showed her a pic of what I wanted, she didn't cut my hair anything like it. I tried to deal with it, but called over this morning and asked about their "cut fixing policy". Happily, Louise (who is probably the nicest person in the world) fixed my haircut at no charge!! It was around 5:30p yesterday (Saturday) I had just finished some shopping and thought "Why don't I get a haircut?" I saw Supercuts across the street so I went in. I'd never been to one before and the woman working behind the counter was very nice and told me about a 10 minute wait. It took 17 minutes only because there were 4 people ahead of me. I don't remember the womans name who cut my hair but she was very pleasant and did a great job. Worth every penny. I'd highly reccomend this place to anyone. People today complimented me on my haircut. (Hopefully my regular barber doesn't read this I've been going to him for over 30 years). read more

I've read the reviews. Quite honestly, I wasn't a big fan of Super Cuts initially either. However, I found 2 stylists who are GOOD at what they do and they take their time with their clients: Louise (the manager) and Helen (the funniest, sweetest Asian girl!). Ask for either of these ladies and I can GUARANTEE you that you'll go to Super Cuts often and will save TONS of $$$. read more

I wouldn't come here for coloring services (maybe if it's a touch-up that would be okay). I came in with dark hair and blonde highlights and wanted all around blonde. To be fair to them, I know it can be hard to go from dark brown to blonde but I expected to come out at least a little bit lighter but the first round I came out with the same darkness and my highlights went from golden blonde to white blonde platinum hair (google Targaryen) which is not what I wanted at all. We tried a second time with a golden blonde and while it did remove most of the white platinum my hair was still dark and the highlights looked even darker than when I came in and my roots were a completely different color, a brassy orange that I had to fix elsewhere. My hair was not happy by the end of the day. To top things off, my hairdresser, in trying to remove the hair dye on my forehead, rubbed it so hard that I got a rug burn (see photo attached). I do think she was well-intentioned but I do question the training in regards to coloring. Also, there was someone next to me who was also doing something color-based and was asking my stylist about how to mix, etc. which I think is also concerning. If you can't do it then just say so straight up. I asked for a discount because I didn't get what I wanted, understanding that she still spent time and product and wasn't rude, but she only gave me $10 off. read more

I've always had mixed experiences at Supercuts, but lately I've been riding the Supercuts sweet spot because I know exactly who to ask for and my hair makes me feel like a rock star every time. If I was feeling completely selfish I'd keep that information safe-guarded but I figure some name dropping would benefit the stylist more than my selfish needs. This Supercuts really means business. There is a TON of talent here. The original reason I tried this place out is because my friend was sporting one of the most beautiful cuts I'd ever seen and recommended that I try it. I was a little hesitant because have a background in cosmetology and I'm incredibly specific about the sort of cut I want, and (like many of us) I have been butchered at salons before. My stylist was (and continues to be) Marisol and she is completely AMAZING. From wash to style, she is unbeatable. She has tons of experience and is extremely confident and competent at all she does. She is meticulous and takes her time, making sure you look absolutely perfect. Her blowouts are also incredible, and last days without frizzing out or going flat. Helen is also fabulous (and adorable), I've been to her for a trim a couple of times when Marisol was not available. For all this, it costs like $30. If you've ever frequented a Newbury street salon, you know what a deal $30 is for a full wash, cut, and blowdry. Definitely would recommend! read more
