This was my husband's and my first time trying this restaurant. When you arrive, you place your order and pay at the counter first, then take a seat in the dining area to enjoy your meal. The prices are quite reasonable, and the food was pretty good overall. For me, the broth wasn't as rich or flavorful as I had hoped, though they do give you a generous amount of it. The staff provided decent service -- not outstanding, but not bad either. There are several pho restaurants along this street, and this was the first one we decided to try. Overall, it wasn't bad at all and definitely worth a visit, but it's not quite my top favorite just yet.

I was in the area and decided to stop by because I wanted a bahmi sandwich. This place looks like a house. As soon as you walk in there was a waiting area. Then the had the menu with some pictures. I ordered a shrimp bahmi sandwich. The price was reasonable I paid $11 and not every restaurant has shrimp.y sandwich was done very fast. The veggies were very fresh and the shrimp was good. They had a mayo sauce. Overall very good.

Came by for late pho lunch and it was perfect for a cold, rainy day. They don't really have "outdoor seating" as their "outdoors" area consists of wooden plank floors with a simple covering overhead. Their "indoors" area is nonexistent, it's just a place where you order at the cashier, with a few...like two tables by the register. Anyways, bundle up on a cold day, as there are no heaters, and the seating area isn't fully insulated. BUT the pho will warm you right up! I love me some beef tendon, and I was sad to see that their pho options were flank, steak, and tripe pretty much...really simple beef pho options. There's also veggie pho and chicken pho ga options as well. The pricing is slightly higher than pho in Oakland/Merritt area, but the quality and portions are well worth the price. The pho comes out hot and their trimmings include lemon, basil, jalapeno and bean sprouts. I wish we had lime and mint as well, but theirs is quite basic. Super Super is great for large groups, and pet-friendly. They also have their own parking lot that fits maybe like 10 cars? Also street parking too. Service is efficient and basic, seems family-run which I love!

Honestly, I go here almost every week. I now have my boyfriend and coworkers addicted to Super Super. I can't tell even begin to explain how delectable the beef broth is. It pairs perfectly with the chicken banh mi. I swear, they have me in a literal chokehold. The family is so so so sweet and their service is so kind. I will never stop hyping them up!

Best Báhn mì I have ever had. I didn't get a chance to take pictures of the other items ordered because my kids ate so fast! We ordered the chicken rice plate and chicken vermicelli. Both plates were made to order and had very fresh-tasting ingredients. The restaurant has a parking lot in the rear and plenty of seating options inside. The scenery is relaxing and the service is quick. The gentleman who took our order was courteous and helpful in making recommendations as it was our first time visiting. I am definitely planning on returning to try more items.

Huge servings, authentic food, and a big space! I came with a couple friends and the food came out really quickly. You order at the front desk, then you pick a table with your number and they bring the food to you. Their chicken banh mi was so well flavored with a great sauce! Id come back again to get that another time! :)

Chicken Pho Specialty without any noodles + add vegetables instead!

So for anyone who knows me they know I love a really good noodle soup whether it be Japanese Udon or Ramen or something else so when I wanted to have some kind of hot soup tonight for dinner, I thought about having Pho. The only problem with that is I've been on a ketogenic diet for the last six weeks and I have to keep my carb count way down and the rice noodles would completely blow me out of the water for probably a whole weeks worth of carb counts but like they always do, this place has always to accommodated my dietary needs, and we're able to provide me with a Chicken Pho with no noodles, add Vegetables instead along with the normal herbs and bean sprouts etc... It was still really quite tasty as it was packed with cut up cabbage, broccoli, a little bit of sliced onion, and I topped it off with the basil and the bean sprouts and the jalapeño peppers ! I still miss the noodles, but it gives me something to look forward to once I lose another 10 or 15 pounds! This is why this is one of my goto Pho places in town! Thank you Super Super! You guys are The Best!!!

Cute neighborhood restaurant with a small parking lot. Very low key and clean. The menu was not as extensive as other places, but seem to focus on essentials. Pho was one size for about $16ish, but it was a large bowl with lots of noodles. Pretty plain but with good flavor. The bahn mi was more of a regular sandwich, with not so great tasting meat. I'd skip that. Service was friendly and fast.

Visiting Berkeley for a Gymnastics meet and decided to have a hearty warm bowl of pho with my daughter before heading to the event. So glad we stumbled upon this delicious meal! Piping hot pho with fresh shrimp spring rolls was delicious. Patio seating offers heat lamps to warm you up. Great meal and amazing service. Must try!

First time here. Made a stop for dinner with my girls. Location was easy to find. They have their own back parking lot. Seating was out in a inclosed patio. You ordered and pay at the register and they'll bring out your order. It is self seating . We ordered pho (#1 and the meatballs) and Bun bo Hue. Pho broth was not bad. The BBH broth tasted just like the pho broth with a spicer flavor. We've had better BBH. The portion of the noodle was pretty small for the price. The portion size here would be like a small at other pho restaurants. Restrooms were dirty and smelly.

Giving this a 3.5 because the pho wasn't very flavorful & was also lacking in terms of the meat portions given the price. I will say though that it is a nice little spot for when you want vietnamese food with their own private parking lot tucked in the back. They also have self serve hot tea & cold water so that was pretty neat.

With my luck, my car would smell like hello kitty for weeks. Anyhow, I found Mẹ Và Con on yelp, a mother-daughter owned resto that opened in 2024. They serve bánh khọt and have outdoor seating so we headed over. Thankfully, we arrived before the Sunday dinner rush (~5:45 pm) and before the parking lot was filled. Rezzies are accepted (via phone). M E N U Viet Cuisine with some elevated, modern twists (no specific regional specialty). Smaller menu than your typical hole-in-the-wall with 25-30 items including AZN fusion items like shrimp ceviche, kimchi pasta and tom yum pasta. Beer, wine, and soju cocktails available. F O O D * Bò Tái Chanh: Beef Carpaccio w/ Thai basil, fried shallot, house tangerine sauce ($18): https://tinyurl.com/nhcn9kxw - Served at dinner only Fresh, tender slices of beef carpaccio with a sweetness from the tangerine sauce and white onions. I appreciate their twist (tangerine sauce instead of nước chấm) but it was too one note for me...IMO, it needed acid and herbs. Plus, I miss the texture of peanuts. * Bánh Khọt: Viet Mini Pancakes w/ shrimp, coconut milk batter, herbs, pickles ($24): https://tinyurl.com/34nx7sat - Served at dinner only Fav dish of the night, the savory bánh khọt was delicately crispy and slightly custardy in the center with a snappy shrimp drizzled with fragrant scallion oil. It came with romaine, mint, and perilla leaves neatly layered for easy wrapping. The lettuce was a bit soft and soggy tho, and I think they forgot the pickled veggies. Served with a tiny portion of tangy sweet nước chấm. * Bò Lúc Lắc: Shaking Beef w/ soy, garlic, onion, cherry tomato, arugula ($26): https://tinyurl.com/3rkpukct Meltingly tender cubes of filet mignon but light on the seasoning and aromatics so it was bland. Also, was hoping for more smoky wok hei flavor. * Thịt Kho Tàu: Braised Pork Belly w/ hard boiled eggs, rice ($21): https://tinyurl.com/mr2evryw - Includes bowl of rice A traditional dish served during Lunar New Year, it symbolizes prosperity, warmth, and stability. Chunks of pork belly are caramelized in sugar and braised in coconut soda and fish sauce - rich, savory with a good ratio of lean meat to fat (4 pieces). Wish they used more braising liquid when warming up, as some pieces were a bit dry. S E R V I C E Warm, friendly hospitality. Food does take awhile tho...our first dish took about 30 minutes to arrive. A M B I A N C E Casual, no-frills indoor area with about 10-12 tables. Cute covered patio in the parking lot with 5 tables and fairy lights. Overall, Mẹ Và Con is a great place to introduce people that are new to Viet cuisine and/or you're looking for Viet dishes with different twist.

It adds so much flavor and makes the whole dish feel extra satisfying. One small tip, I'd recommend asking for a bit more lime with the dipping sauce. The pepper-to-lime ratio leans pretty heavy on the pepper side, and I personally like a little more acidity to cut through the richness of the beef. The eggroll appetizer is also worth mentioning. They come out nice and crispy, and wrapping them in the lettuce with the dipping sauce adds a great contrast in texture and a fresh layer of flavor. It's a simple touch, but it really elevates the dish. The pho is solid and pretty standard, no complaints there, but the shaking beef is definitely the star. The atmosphere is very family-friendly. There were kids playing and interacting with each other, which gave the place a warm, community feel. My little one was a bit shy when some kids came over to say hi, but it was still a welcoming moment. The interior is spacious, so I wouldn't worry about bringing a larger group. And for accessibility, there are a couple of steps at the entrance, but there's a lift on the right side, and a flat entrance in the back for wheelchairs or strollers, which is a nice touch.

It's small, but surprisingly roomy, with quick friendly service and lovely varied art arrayed on the walls in little themed sets. First, i tried their intriguing tart salted plum lemonade! An awakening flavor without overwhelming the meal. What a lovely red-plum color! I loved their bright fresh shrimp spring rolls, (gỏi cuốn tôm) of a generous number of medium-size chilled shrimp, with al-dente vermicelli, crisp fresh bean sprouts, cucumber, and lettuce, competing fresh bright mint and tart pickled shredded daikon and carrots, all wrapped in nearly transparent firm but ready-to-melt rice paper. Besides the nice light crunch of the shrimp, what sets this apart is the savory slightly sweet peanut dipping sauce. I can't get enough! Their fried calamari (Muc Chien) is tender with enough resistance, delicately coated in a simple lightly seasoned salt & pepper thin crust, with a lightly seasoned lemon sauce. You wont find a better lighter calamari. I had their pho chicken (Phở Gà (Bánh Phở Tươi)), tender strips of juicy chicken breast and flat noodles in lightly salty chicken broth, that I garnished from the side-dish of crispy fresh bean sprouts, minty basil, squeezed bright lime, and for me just a touch of fresh jalapeno, cut to bring some heat. Of course you can customize the pho with different meats and broths. It was exactly the fresh gentle lunch i was hoping for.
