I hate lemonade that's not sour enough. Oh and that too, I usually hate limeade, don't really care for lemonade, and don't drink soda. I always liked fried rolls but something about this tasted better. They were Laotian rolls, so maybe that was part of the difference from the ones you get from Pho restaurants. The Panang duck curry was so good. My mom doesn't even like curry and she liked it. And the Chiang Mai soup dish, I've never had anything like it. I genuinely dislike leaving a review this negative because the staff were very nice, and I had high hopes based on the reviews. However, I spent far too much money on a meal that I ultimately couldn't eat and ended up throwing away while still hungry. Both dishes I would definitely get again and again. Rainbow salad is a clear vermicelli noodle (made from mung bean) salad with prawns and ground chicken or pork in a lemon/vinaigrette fish sauce, topped with thinly sliced red onions, fried shallots and cilantro. This was my favorite dish and soooo good that I think I would order this every time I return here! It had layers of umami depth with just the right mix of spicy heat. Shrimp were sizeable and not overcooked and the ground meat was seasoned very nicely. Khao Poon is a rice vermicelli noodle soup in a coconut curry broth with ground chicken, topped with thinly cut cabbage, scallions, bean sprouts and fresh mint leaves. At medium spice level, there was still enough heat to satisfy those that like a higher spice level. Broth was perfect, not watered down nor too salty. The takeout order for this separated the noodles and veggie/herb toppings from the broth and chicken so it doesn't get soggy and you can assemble when ready to eat. Based on how well these two dishes were made, I can't wait to return to try their other dishes. They also seem to have some breakfast specials which seem really good, like a grilled Laos sausage with an omelette over rice.
