I love the concept of Super Mega Bien because it is based on the style of dim sum. You do get a menu where you can see what items they will bring to your table. Then a staff will bring each dish to you where you can accept or reject it. Because we had a pretty big party, we ordered two of each. There was enough food to try that we didn't get a chance to order from the menu. On top of that, the drinks were great too. Every item that we got was tasty and delicious. I cannot remember any of the names and unfortunately it was too dark for photos but any of the dish with steak and pork were favorite. The starter with the hummus was a fantastic appetizer. Also love the interior. Will need to revisit in the daytime one day. read more

Super Mega Bien is a cool restaurant concept that combines dim sum style service (where they bring out trays of small plates you can pick from) with Latin foods thats shareable and tasty. We came during happy hour 5-6pm where they knock off $2 off dim sum plates and drinks. Ceviche was tasty and a bit untraditional as the sauce was quite thick with a good undercurrent of tomato flavors. Flat like you had chips and a unique queso with bits of tuna. Pork Wings are popular here and are essentially pork shanks with a nice crisp that's still tender and covered with a sweet bbq sauce. The roja vieja was a comforting slow braised beef dish. Bummer they ran out of plantains early but was a good dish. Service is solid. Get there early! read more

Really cool concept and friendly service with pretty solid food. This place gets VERY busy, and it's one of the more fun ways to have a meal in Denver, even if it doesn't have the true dim sum vibes of something like a Star Kitchen. One of the cool parts about SMB is that they're very allergy aware. They know exactly what's in each dish, and they'll make sure that you're getting the dishes that you're interested in trying out. Hearing about this nifty concept of Latin dim sum, how could I resist a visit to Super Mega Bien during my stay in Denver?! I had actually planned on visiting later on in the week, but Work + Class happened to be closed, and Super Mega Bien is right near by. I snagged a bar seat and was given a drink menu, and big family style dish menu (going solo, this not for me lol) and the dim sum menu. For a drink, I went with the Clasico - while I had been brewery-hopping beforehand, I'm pretty sure I enjoyed this lol. And on to the Dim Summing: Carne Asada with Chimichurri - I love me some chimichurri and this was spot on! Jamaican Style Jerked Chicken Wings - really interesting, sauce was a little overwhelming, but still enjoyable. Bao Buns - fluffy, meaty goodness. Rice Ball - I was kind of waiting for other dim sum to come around, but got a little impatient I guess and went for these. they were fine, but could have gone without. All n all, an enjoyable visit, super interesting concept - though, perhaps a little short-staffed (not unusual these days). But would definitely give em another shot next time in town. read more

We went on the early side on a Saturday night and it was busy, but the service was available, friendly and attentive. Fun place for a date or dinner with friends. This is about my recent visit Super Mega Bien. . .late with some out-of-towners (9pm). First thing first, we got seated immediately (score). We started with the Patatas Bravas, which were crispy potatoes topped with chorizo, parmesan, chives, and a spicy tomato aioli. It was delicious and a perfect start to the meal. The appetizers were served dim sum style with a server bringing around the small plates for you to see. . .(definitly wasn't a feature during my covid visit). Once you were done with appetizers they set this flag to Red. The next small plate we tried the Ceviche, made with Albacore Tuna, pico de gallo, and avocado mousse. The flavors were fresh and well balanced. For the main course, we went with the Puerco Negro, a Yucatan style slow-braised pork with am amazing and tender flavor balance I wish I could do at home. It was served with salsa macha, avocado mousse, and house-made tortillas. My only small nock is that like work-and-class they dont' give you enough tortillas by default (they know this) and make you order and pay for more. regardless of the tortilla issue I'm still going with five stars. - It was amazing and a must-try for anyone visiting Super Mega Bien. I think free tortilla's would make this a five star :) I also loved my spicy draft margarita cocktail, which was a great accompaniment to the meal. I love this place so much. We took a friend here who was visiting. Its the perfect spot to go with a small group because you're able to share the plates and try a lot of things on the menu. They'll come around with trays of the small plates. Pick which ones you want to try and they'll add it to your tab. I loved being able to see the items as we picked. We shared the brisket and jasmine rice from the larger plates. After all that we still found room for dessert too. I can't wait to go back. They don't take reservations, but we were able to be seated pretty quick on a Wednesday night. Stopped at Death & C. next door for a post dinner cocktail. read more

I came here for my birthday because I've been dying to try it but was nervous about there being a long wait since they don't take reservations. But my birthday was on a Tuesday on a day where temps plummeted, so lucky for me not many others braved the weather to go out. Super Mega Bien exceeded my expectations- everything was so flavorful, the space colorful and warm, and the staff incredibly attentive. We started with the ceviche and patatas bravas- both delicious. The ceviche was creamier than what I've had before and the chips were top notch. The patatas bravas may beat the ceviche though- the potatoes were crunchy and the chorizo added so much flavor. For our main, we shared the puerco negro and that was beyond flavorful! It was a ton of food and the avocado crema and other sauce served with it really added to the tacos. And the tortillas... so good. We will definitely be back! read more

I've now attempted to visit on two separate occasions: once in 2019, and again last night. Despite advertizing themselves as a latin "dim sum" concept, both times I visited they were not doing the cart service- which is the main gimmick of dim sum service, and I'm incredibly disappointed I didn't get to experience it either time. Perhaps just bad luck on my end, as I was told they weren't "busy enough" to do it... though as you can see in my attached photo, the place was over half full. Wonderful atmosphere and food. Strong drinks. I was here last summer right after they opened to indoor dining. But I broke a cardinal rule, my cell phone was almost dead and I was unable to take a photo or leave a review. This time I came prepared. I started with a Mezcal Negroni. Yikes! A must sip drink, no guzzling. Their Happy Hour for small plates and cocktails are $2 off each from 5pm-6pm. Since they do not accept reservations, get here at 5pm. I had several small plates (Roasted Beets, Carne Asada, Arepas de Queso and Pork Wings) with plantains with pineapple salsa. After my very strong Negroni, I got the Mango Ginger daiquiri. What a fun place and concept!! I'm not sure what the style of service is called but you essentially order food as the servers bring the plates by the table. You pick what you want and they add it to your bill as you're taking the food. You can absolutely order something like normal if they don't bring what you want to the table too. Staff is super on the ball explaining everything and taking notes of allergies. We had a DF and a GF person and no part of the experience was lost. Better yet, the prices are so reasonable. This place was incredible tonight. They do not offer reservations which made it feel more obtainable for a last minute dinner date. You do have to have a full party to be seated but I respect that. I first got the Chicha drink which was incredible! Rum, cinnamon, super balanced. Delicious. They do a dim sum style for all their small plates. Basically someone comes around "offers" a delicious that was just freshly made - could be any of the small plates and you either accept it or not. Pretty cool style. Makes it fun and interactive and probably has you eating more than you would normally since everything looks so amazing. We ended up with the beets (wow!), chickpea hummus, Arepas De Queso, side of plantains (I was so positively overwhelmed with every bite), and the Lamb Barbacoa. Every single item was incredible! So fresh. So flavorful. When I looked at the menu online I didn't have super high expectations but this place exceeded them ten fold. I also got the pina colada drink. It's very spirit forward and doesn't taste like a typical pina so don't be expecting something sweeter. Lastly, we got the coconut flan. I love this spot! Such a great concept to have pan-Latin American cuisine served dim sum style. Everyone is so friendly, the waitstaff has the perfect sense of humor and the service is fast! Super Mega Bien is lightning in a bottle! There were literally lightning strikes in the sky tonight. This place has a very fascinating concept. It serves up Latin American tapas in a dim sum fashion, with carts or platters of delectable small plates. You just pick the dishes that look good to you. And like dim sum, they mark off your card every time so they know how much to charge you at the end.  I start off with a Chicha, a drink with pineapple rum, pineapple juice, Peruvian purple corn juice, cloves, and cinnamon. With Denver's 90 degree heat, it is really refreshing. The first plate to catch my eye is the Ropa Vieja. The Cuban shredded beef is super juicy, tender, and given a flavor boost from the olive tapenade. The golden fried plantains are sweet, chewy, and caramelized crispy. So far, so good.  I am tipped off regarding the Brazilian Shrimp Sopa. This is a reddish-orange curry with some seriously sneaky heat. As I begin to sweat a bit from the spiciness, the sweet coconut milk soothes my palate. Succulent shrimp and peas top the rice at the bottom of the bowl. The music, ambience, energy, friendliness of the staff, and the amazing food and beverages makes SMB probably the best spot to check out in Denver. Go soon and try everything. read more

What a cool spot. Our waitress Christi was a little angel! Delicious food and drinks and good HH. The carne asada with chimichurri is a must and so is the ceviche. The ropa vieja is tender and flavorful and the plantains add a nice twist (reminds me of a traditional Spanish dish). We tried the noodles with shrimp and it was probably our least favorite - very heavy on the chili powder. Cool dim sum concept with a rotating cart to order the small plates. Latin inspired dim sum recommended to us by a fellow local yelper. Walked right in and got a seat in the bar area. Score. Bartenders were awesome and checked on us frequently. So how does this spot work? Well, you can order some stuff off their special menu. We were recommended to only go with one half order if we were planning on indulging in dim sum items. Very different/modern menu. Everything we ate was incredible. Can't really describe the vibe of the restaurant but the words that come to mind are eclectic, different, artsy.. They bring all the small plates to your table so you can see them before ordering them which I thought was kinda cool. The service was ok. It started out strong then slowly faded. We ordered an extra side of bao buns and waited like 30 minutes for them. we had a lot of servers stop by our table which seems to be how it works, but one of them was not friendly and pretty rude. Latin dim sum? It's just different! The seating, the carts, the offerings, etc. just aren't conducive to sharing among large groups. Maybe if the tables are round it's be better for conversations. The food all tasted fine especially the carnitas and my friends seem to really enjoy the drinks - they keep ordering more. So for my lesson learned: don't split bills with large parties sharing Dim Sum... but it would be hard to calculate your portion... hmm... read more

I would give this place 10 stars if I could. I was so grateful to be able to enjoy this experience on my special day with friends/family. We showed up right at 5pm when they opened (absolutely necessary as they don't take reservations and get busy VERY quickly-- they remain busy all night, open to close). The food is Spanish with a dim sum twist (people coming through with tapas/appetizers on carts). Being there so early, we were able to take advantage of the happy hour ($6 for each appetizer/little dish). We tried EVERYTHING they had to offer (x3) and the flavors were award winning--plate licking good. Wings were also an impulse buy (cause they walk the tapas around - hard to say no. I'm coming to learn I just don't like this restaurant group's work. The day after a bad meal at Work & Class a friend recommended Super Mega Bien because it was close by - I was hesitant but figured I must have just had an off experience at W&C. SMB was totally fine. Nothing memorable food wise. Best items were the drinks but again nothing special. At the end of our meal the price came to over $70 which felt really surprising considering we seemed to have a relatively limited amount of food. read more

What an appropriate name for this restraint! The whole experience was superMega bien! Our waitress (I think it was kristy) was the nicest person ever. We had the beets and queso arepas to start. The beets were light, refreshing and delicious. The arepas has a nice pesto underneath and some type of sour cream I'm guessing on top. Lots of ooey gooey cheese! Muy delicioso! Then we did the patatas bravas and the shrimp soup. The shrimp soup was spicy and fully of flavor. The patatas were cheesy, soft and almost luxurious. A perfect bite to balance the spiceness of the soup. I had the spicy margarita (2 in fact) to drink- they were not spicy. I think they threw a jalepeno in there pretending to add spice- but as a spicy margaritas goths was on the low end. The food is amazing here, it was so good, our family ate it all so fast before I was able to take any pictures. I love the family style food concept. The staff brings the "small plates" to you and you can take them if you want and then the"large plates" the waiter/waitress will take your order. I would highly recommended the beet salad and artichokes on the small plate menu they were fabulous. I felt like I was at a 5 star restaurant. Dim sum + Latin American cuisine = Super Mega Bien. The name really says it all. Not only is the inventive fusion of the style of dining with the style of cuisine delightful, the food is delicious. My husband and I had dinner hear to celebrate our first 6 months of marriage. The menu includes shareable larger plates, as well as a continual cart of dim sum items that rotate every week. While many of the salads and large plates looked great, for just the two of us we wanted to enjoy most of what the dim sum cart had to offer. We enjoyed: two orders of the latin spring rolls (one at the beginning and one at the end - they were that good). I think they were mainly stuffed with squash and cheese, served with some spicy aioli. My husband had ceviche and ribs, I had ropa vieja with plantains,and we split carne asada with chimichurri. The ceviche and carne asada stood out especially - the asada in particular was cooked perfectly - it melted in the mouth. The portion sizes were ample and we were stuffed when we left. Our drinks were good - I had the el picante and my husband had some red wine. We were seated at the chef's table, right next to where the dim sum dishes come out, so we always got first choice and very fresh food. We also got to see everything as it was being made. Our service was friendly and frequent, and we can't wait to come back soon since the dim sum menu changes frequently.
