So, my surprise when I walked past a sign that said "cafe" one day was completely justified and also backed with excitement. For YEARS I have said "I wish there was a locally owned cafe here" and finally, my dream had come true. First things first the cafe is homey and cozy. Entering the door, you are met with a welcoming staff and a modern feel, in a sophisticated, but homey atmosphere. Combine that with the aforementioned great staff and coffee, you have a recipe for success and comfort. The coffee is great. Wether it is a latte, espresso, or a hot or iced coffee, it is all delicious and fresh. I should mention that you will also know what is being prepared, as it is prepared behind the counter with precision and grace. The coffee has a nutty flavor, and the aroma matches it. Its not too strong, but just strong enough that it still tastes like coffee. It is divine and invigorating. The food at Ethan's Eats is also scrumptious. Ethan makes all the food fresh, and it makes the food immaculate. He cooks eggs perfectly, makes eggs flawlessly, tosses salads proficiently. A favorite of mine is the Egg and Cheese Bagelnini. The crunch, the flavor of the cheese and the incorporation of the egg blends the flavor in a delightful way. The bagels are also fresh, and taste good, like a bagel should taste. He also brews fresh soup daily, and while most of the time I am unable to eat it, because of dietary restrictions, I can say with complete validation that it will taste delightful. It is also convenient, you can simply walk in there and grab a to go salad, like a shrimp salad I enjoyed when I went all the way back into last year. Discussing baked goods and pastries, there is nothing that I can say besides, everything is amazing. It is perfect. Truly, the food here is amazing. Finally I should add that Ethan supports many local businesses and creators. He sells paintings, stickers, sauces, coffee, and it is in a small town in need of attraction. It is admirable, considering I have grown up in Olyphant and have a love for this town. The location itself is convenient as well. Being on Lackawanna makes it a great place to stop in for a quick, delicious bite to eat in a cozy, comforting place whilst being greeted by some of the most amazing staff members and service I have ever received. The place is usually pretty busy on Sunday morning. Decent affordable diner food. Breakfasts are usually generous and pretty. Service can be slow for large groups. Today, I got the meatloaf w/ potato side and beets. The roasted meatloaf had that standard tender texture and ketchup glaze with a standard brown gravy. Pretty affordable price point and I probably won't eat much else today. Beets were a healthy sidekick for this meal.

This came with chicken strips, fried mozzarella sticks, and pierogies, with a side of marinara sauce. They had four daily soups. They all sounded really good. I had chicken and orzo, and my husband had cream of chicken (I think). The soups were amazing. It had big chunks of white meat chicken. I really wanted some beer-battered fish and chips. I was told the regular cod fish and chips were not beer-battered, and only the haddock was beer-battered. I opted for the haddock with French fries and corn. Hubby ordered Philly cheesesteak flatbread. The mixed munchies were good. I don't think I have had deep-fried pierogies. I think I prefer the steamed ones. But these had a good flavor. The haddock was huge. I sent a picture to my kids, and they commented that only the head and tail were missing. . . lol. . . I hardly ate any fries, but hubby said they were crispy, hot, and tasty. Hubby got his flatbread to go, and we ordered a strawberry shortbread cake to go. We had some of the cake as a late-night snack. It was okay, but I don't think I would get it again.
