Seriously they have pasta, stir fries, veggie, vegan, gluten free, soup, sandwiches, casseroles, etc. The food itself was ok but tasted like it came out of a jar or can. On my second visit I got A Green Hot Tea and Mediterranean Stuffed Pork Chops Dinner. I chose the salad with Italian Dressing, nice size of Lettuce, Tomatoes, Croutons, Onions Salad, fresh. The diner was humongous with a choice of Potato & Vegetable. The chops are stuffed with Spinach & Feta Cheese. Delicious. Baked Potato with Butter & Sour Cream and carrots. Driving through Clark's Summit late looking for eats on a Wednesday. So surprised to find amazing food in what first appears ams a standard fare diner. Great variety, something for everyone (but try the chicken sorrento!). Great desserts, complementary wine with the sautes, and our server Jianna was a light. The food here is always very delicious and the cooks are quick! It's a busy restaurant but they try their absolute best. The service ladies are an absolute gem! Super down to earth, are excellent with their job, and love to laugh. Some of the funniest and wild conversations happen which make me laugh. The ambiance is what you'd expect from a diner. Went here two times. Both times were good however some flaws. Nothing wrong with the food in fact. it was classic delicious food you expect at a Diner. Servers are very nice and seem like they want to serve you. However problem comes with the Ambiance. The second time we went we saw many issues. Boot seats are cracked, floors seemed dirty, and our large party was forced to use cheap plastic chairs and wobbly smaller tables to fit all of us onto one table. It was very windy outside and the side door broke which we weren't surprised of either as it was on its last limb anyways. If you ignore it being so outdated its quite enjoyable. And food is very VERY delicious. Would come back here again. read more

Clarks Summit native here! Silver Spoon is the best for any meal! I love love going for breakfast & getting an omelet, but I also love any of the panini sandwiches for dinner. The sandwiches come with soup or salad, and fries! Everyone is always super friendly and polite, and it's a great place to go with family. Prices are great as well! Silver Spoon Diner was a HUGE disappointment. It was utter chaos when I visited which of course can be expected on a weekend but we are still recovering from a pandemic and they have absolutely no system in place for when customers enter the establishment and when customers want to leave. It's just a big conglomeration of people blocking the doorway which I'm also pretty sure is a hazard. The food is disgusting and over-priced. My sister didn't get the toast with her meal which came with it. Now, the allure- what even made me want to visit this establishment? I read that it was vegan friendly! Which is super exciting. Anyway, they had sold out of most of the vegan food when we had arrived but still had some vegan bacon or vegan sausage but no vegan egg, so I had asked for vegan bacon and vegan sausage, home fries and toast... they could not substitute anything so I wound up paying more money for a 1 star breakfast than I would have if they had the vegan egg. Oh and it was one piece of bacon... a rip off. I am all about supporting small businesses, local businesses and more. I know that we all work hard to make the money we do and then to spend it at places that don't deserve it? I want to share that with others because that's forty dollars for two breakfasts that I won't ever get back. The diner was filthy too. If you cannot accomodate everyone then you need to direct others elsewhere. If you do not have the wait staff then you should not allow all the tables to be filled up or you should express there will be a long wait, et c et c. I'm also not so sure if the toast is actually vegan or the home fries despite being told yes. Long story short, skip this place and save up to go on a road trip to a real diner not some dive diner. This is a terrific little spot with an exceptional vegan menu. What a surprise when I asked our server Roxanne what she would eat on the menu if she were a vegan...and she said, hold on one second. Wow ! Wow! Just had breakfast there with my wife on our way back home from Florida. The place does not look that great from outside but nice and cozy inside. The staff is great. Had a smiling waitress and very sociable (Roxanne) which made our experience very enjoyable. The prices are vey good and the food was very good. Had the Silver Spoon Special. The silver spoon and a fantastic diner that I used to frequent when I was going to keystone college down the road. This is diner food, so don't expect Michelin star quality but everything is very good! As a frequent diner goer I can say this is a better one. Staff is always nice, food is consistent and is always a pleasant experience there. I believe it's co-owned with the viewmont diner in Dickson city because the menu is virtually the same and the consistency between them is great. Still better than a chain! We pulled off the interstate looking for a local diner, and the Silver Spoon spot certainly fit the description. The food was fine -- not the best diner food we've ever had, but good. The service was also good. The parking lot is in the back, and is a bit tight. This is certainly a local place, which we much prefer to the chains or fast food. I had a Greek lemon chicken soup, which was good, and a chicken quesadilla, which was a good size, but which tasted a bit plain. read more

If there was a rating just for waitstaff, they'd get at least 4 stars, but, based on the food I was just given, yuck. The presented plate looked like it could have come right from something pre-packaged. The eggs were good, and I ate them with the rye toast, but the hash browns were basically cooked white potatoes and the corned beef hash looked like it was sliced from a log corned beef hash. I started to eat white potatoes and log slice, but stopped. The potatoes had hard things in it and between the mush. As for the corned beef hash, which I grew up on and continued that tradition with my children, all I can say is that hash tasted off ... can't really explain it, but there was something wrong with it. How does hash taste bad, I thought it wasn't possible for hash to taste bad?! read more

This is a pretty good place to eat. I have eaten here a couple of times and so far so good. The one complaint I have is that today we went for breakfast. I ordered French toast and they only have Mrs. Buttersworth syrup and they do not offer any real maple syrup. Many places now offer it for an up charge. I would be willing to pay for real maple syrup. I am not a fan of putting high fructose corn syrup on my French toast or pancakes ! Hopefully they see my suggestion! read more

I have been here about 3 times now. I am not impressed with the food. I was worried when I saw how many items are on the menu. They have one of those spiral bound laminated menus with the a picture of almost everything on the menu. This usually means lots of frozen pre-made items. I got the country fired steak and when I asked a question the waitress said she had not served that in awhile. oh boy! it's going to be frozen garbage for sure! it was : ( The breads are not good here. I've been going here awhile but sadly the service and food has/is going down hill. Waitress was very nice but unfortunately not a good waitress. Forgot to bring the drinks. We stopped in here around dinner time last night. This place used to be the Summit Diner, and it's now been completely redone inside. The place is very clean and bright, and everything from the tabletops to the fixtures appears to be brand new. Food is average. I had a quesadilla and a Greek salad. My wife had Manhattan Clam Chowder, stuffed grape leaves and a grilled cheese. I'd get a quesadilla again, but I'll pass on the Greek salad, which was pretty much a big bowl of iceberg lettuce, very lightly dressed. It came topped with about 10 unpitted Kalamata olives (which means that you have to spit out 10 pits if you actually want to eat the olives), sliced green bell pepper, feta, 2 grape leaves and anchovies. My wife's choices were all pretty good. I think the soup is homemade, and I liked it. The grape leaves are most likely bought, as they're pretty much the same grape leaves that you get on supermarket salad bars, but they're ok with me. We got a slice of homemade chocolate mousse cake to go, which was really good. Their dessert cooler is typical of a Greek diner, with enormous cakes and pies which, I think, are all made on site. Same owner as Viewmont Diner in Dickson City, with a similar concept. Not bad. We'll come back to try breakfast. read more

The husband and I were looking for a place to eat on a Saturday night. We happened to see the gyros sign in the window. We stopped and ordered the gyros, the Greek salad, and the dolmas. The dolmas were of average quality, not homemade, but the feta with them was excellent. The Greek salad was large with plenty of feta cheese & yes, kalamata olives with pits included. We were pleased with the salad. We also ordered a gyros sandwich, also of generous proportions. It was also much better than we expected. Overall this restaurant exceeded our expectations. We were in town house hunting. Decided to stop for a late night snack, then the next morning for breakfast. I miss diners, grew up with them in NY. This one was good. The service was excellent on both visits. The prices reasonable. The portions are huge. We split a Rueben on our late night visit. It was delicious. The fries crispy. The next morning my husband enjoyed his banana pancakes. I have to say my omelet was good, however the home fries, lacked flavor and were too oily. I ate here for lunch with the family. I had the chicken gyro. My kids had bacon cheeseburgers and my wife had a Greek salad w/chicken. I was a little annoyed that I couldn't get a side salad instead of french fries with my meal. Restaurants have to be prepared to help people with healthy alternatives. My gyro was less than average and the applesauce I had with it was not very good. My wife didn't like the Greek salad very much. It was basically some chicken on top of a huge bed of iceberg lettuce with a couple pieces of feta cheese and olives. Whole meal was $45 w/o tip. Just driving through on 81 and stopped for some grub. After vowing never to go to Damon's again after our repeated poor experiences there, we were after something new in Clark's Summit. I have to say, we were very pleasantly surprised here! It's a diner, same as most, with a little more of an expanded menu than I had expected. I got boneless buffalo chicken wings and curly fries, both came out hot and delicious, nice and crunchy. My boyfriend opted for the lamb gyro, which was pretty large and I have to say it was pretty darn good! I wouldn't have expected that from a diner. Overall we were very happy with our meals and would definitely stop back next time we are on the road. The best part about it I think was that everything was so obviously FRESH - the grilled chicken Caesar salad I saw on the way out looked wonderful. Other pros: very clean restaurant and bathrooms, attentive staff, they take credit cards (even Amex), it's very inexpensive as you'd expect from a diner, and the food was good - desserts looked even better! If you're looking for a rest stop in the area with good food is recommend it. It's very family friendly and there were quite a few dining there when we arrived. No, it's not a substitute for a steakhouse, but if you want some good quick food then this is your spot. read more

I like to eat a local restaurants so I stoped here. When I walked in they were surprised and asked curtly Can I help you. I said Dinner? They sat me down and after what seemed like an eternity a person came over and asked if I would like something to drink while I waited for a server. There was no one in there and four of them were huddled behind the counter doing nothing. After it was clear they had no interest in waiting on me I left never to return. I love Silver Spoon, I'm here at least once a week. Here's the deal, it's a diner, it's not an Italian restaurant, it's not a steakhouse, it's not a Mexican restaurant, it's not a seafood place, and it's not a fine dining establishment. That said, if you stick to ordering diner food and you come in expecting diner food, then it's really a nice, clean, comfortable, fairly inexpensive place to come to. The menu is too big, and I'd be out of my mind to order more than half of that stuff at any diner. It's one of those generic diner menus with 700 things listed when they don't know the first thing about making 600 of them. I've had too many things to list, but I always enjoyed everything I've ordered. Breakfast is very hard to screw up and they never have, everything is always good. The home fries aren't great, but they're eatable, it is hard to find real home fries around here anyway, so in NEPA if the home fries are passable, I'm ok, I shouldn't be eating fried potatoes anyway. Also, the coffee sucks, it tastes like it was made hours before and has just sat burning up. But, other than that, you can have a good and filling breakfast here. Aside from breakfast, stick to burgers, fries, sandwiches, hot open-faced sandwiches, tuna melts, and other typical/traditional diner fare, and you should get an enjoyable meal. Now, if you go in there and order spaghetti and meatballs, or crab stuffed flounder, or a NY strip, then of course you'll get crap that you neither want to eat nor pay for, but you deserve that for ordering something along those lines at any diner. Just because there's 700 items on those generic diner menus does NOT mean that they know how to make all of it, in fact, the menu needs to be trimmed down.
