Very disappointed! Stopped in for lunch and put in our order. It was busy so we knew we would have a wait. We ordered eggs. After about 10mins a group of young people came in and sat next to us and put in their order. After another 15mins the table of young people got their order of sandwiches and waffles. Still no eggs for us. We apoligized to the waitress, knowing it was not her fault. We left cash for the coffee and left. If the kitchen cant handle two orders of eggs in a timely fashion then they need a new kitchen crew. They wont see us again! read more

Hey everyone and welcome to today's video. I am hungry for a good breakfast. I stopped at Marie's Diner where I got the combo which gives you eggs, choice of meat, I got some French Toast with the milk and oj. It also came with bacon and sausage. I did a review here a while back to where I got their B.Y.O omelet. The difference is I was sitting in the other section and the dining room flooded due to major rain. I saw they had a dish on WNEP on Saturday August 30th 2025, it was for Apple pie French toast. Looked great! I went there on Sept 6th 2025 a week later and they don't have it anymore. I made a special trip just for that. I would think with apple orchards having hay rides and it being the fall season they would make this a seasonal special not only a weekly or weekend special. Don't be fooled by the restaurant being on tv that they will have the dish when you go a week later. Why would they put it on TV if it was not a seasonal dish. Just my opinion. Hmmm I had zucchini fritters and they were not fried, just put on the skillet and flipped, they were soggy and not fried. read more

Service was very slow. We ordered corned beef Rueben's and god roast beef Rueben's. When I asked about it they said it was "pull away corned beef". Never heard of that. It was NOT corned beef! read more

I was back to Marie's on 2/13/23 and had the Murazzi Sausage Omelette with Rye. The meal was excellent and service was very good as usual. I also met Marie (Owner) and she is very nice and passionate about her business and her customers. Marie's is a straight forward diner. Not a lot of frills, nothing too unexpected, just big plates of warm comfort food done well. It's cozy, maybe even tight in there. There are about 7 or eight booths and the built in stools lined up at the counter. Everything is done on the griddle right in front of you, which I love. Good food! I requested home fries well done and watched the server write this down, but did not get this. My omelet was tasty, as was my husbands country friend steak! A coffee mug had a crack in it and leaked all over the table, but we got a fresh mug and lots of apologies. Friendly service. :) Festive decor! Would return again if in the area/passing by. Server couldn't really tell us anything about even "popular" menu items. She was sweet, though. We left very satisfied. read more

I've been here about 4 or 5 times now, and the food and service is consistently good. Waitress Alyssa was especially great today, very friendly and attentive. I always go for breakfast, and I love that when I ask for crispy hash browns, they are CRISPY. The absolute worst dining experience I have ever had.Waited almost 20 minutes for drinks, ordered wing bites they were overcooked.my girlfriend had the pumpkin soup it was luke warm at best. Entrees show up finally after almost an hour, my girlfriends fries were raw, my meal shows up it was wing bites that was not the meal i ordered.so i sent mine back.i told the waitress i just wanted my check so we could leave . incompetence on every level read more

If there isn't meth being made within a hundred yards of this place then I don't know which way is up. On a similar note, I ordered a sausage sandwich with home fries. They brought me a bacon sandwich. I can't complain about the staff, they were very friendly. I have heard good and bad things about this little establishment . Mostly bad . So I decided to check it out myself . I was thrilled at the thought of a dinner in Avoca because other than pizza, hoagies & Colarruso's there really is not much else . I can tell you I will not be returning . The waitresses - I shouldn't put all of them into this category - so I will change it to most of the waitresses are not friendly , can be downright rude & are not accommodating . The food is fair , not good , not bad , just fair On a scale of 1 to 10 , I would score this place a 1.5 Oh and Marie herself can be quite nasty at times as well . Sitting in this place and observing her demeanor , her waitresses demeanors & trying the food was not a pleasant experience. I surely wish her luck with her new place & I'm sure it will always be crowded because -let's face it - it's the only show in town . Terrible service. When asked how was everything at the register, noted that waitress didn't refill coffee, had to ask her for our toast, food on warmer for more than 5 minutes ( place was not busy). Was told to ask for a different waitress next time we come in. That's not happening. read more

Classic trailer diner. I got a huge short stack of pancakes. Cooked in blueberries were $.50 extra on top of $3.95. Same deal for strawberries (on top) with whipped cream. Chatty, friendly waitresses and clientele. This is the kind of place where everyone knows everyone and still happy to see a couple of strangers. One of the two waitresses was the cook. The new location is pretty and clean. We went for Mother's Day breakfast. Not surprising that it was busy. The food was good. My only complaint was the side of turkey bacon was listed as 4 and I received 2 pieces. We need to make a return trip when it is not a holiday for a better picture of how they operate. read more
