Soooooo great! Breakfast for seven here this morning. Great service (how in the world our server remembered all of our detailed orders without writing them down, I have no idea)! Everything was great -- loved the breakfast bowl, the bagels were great, banana pancakes were killer! A real standout breakfast place!!! read more

We love this place and will miss it dearly as our brother just graduated from Scranton last weekend. Everything is worth trying at least once from their menu. Their pancakes especially are delicious and fluffy! read more

My office sent an intern out to grab coffee from Downtown Deli. We all laughed when three people ordered one of their special of the month mocha themed iced coffee. It cost $9.95 each! $30.00 for 3 regular sized iced coffees! Save your coffee money! Turn the corner and go to Black and Brass or Starbucks. $9.95 for one coffee?!?! SHAME! read more

Stayed at a local hotel and front desk recommended it. 15 minutes out of our travel way, but well worth it. Street paid parking meters. When you walk in their is a take out deli style place and in back is their seat down area. Big on various coffees and teas. Service by Nina was friendly and attentive. Coffee served blackandbrasscoffee.com was amazing. Even purchased 2 pkgs for home. Western omelette was cooked perfectly and tasted great. Farmers sandwich 2 eggs, ham, bacon, cheese and potato cake served with side of potatoes was excellent. Highly recommend a stop when in the area. read more

Amazing service and great food! Would def recommend for a quick bite to eat during lunch hour.

I think this is one of the better breakfast/brunch spots in Scranton. They also have a bunch of great food and drink options, so there's something for everyone. Although they have a lot of unique items on the menu, I got the bacon, egg and cheese on a roll with a side of fruit. I also got the honey bee iced latte, which was amazing. Everyone else loved their coffee choices too. They even have a coffee bar in the restaurant if you just want to grab a quick drink. I've also never had to wait to get a table, even when I came here with 7 people. A lot of other places in the area are much smaller and have longer waits, which is the main reason we came here. I'd definitely recommend checking this spot out! read more

DELISH! Started off with mind blowing caramel latte and cold brew, best flavored coffee we e had in awhile. We ordered BEC on baguettes (optional hash brown addition is a game changer) I ordered a side of home fries mixed with flavorful sautéed peppers, this is how home fries should be done! This was a 8/10. Wish the baguettes had some more flavor, can't complain though. Thank you DD!! - Claudia and Jason read more

Food was delicious. My blueberry pancakes were outstanding. Service was excellent. The atmosphere is so open and sunny. Best coffee.

My clients picked this spot to eat and I decided to get the tuna sandwich. They called in the order. When I arrived I found parking on the street nearby. I walked into a very busy deli. I told the lady my name and paid. The food wasn't ready and it took about 20 more minutes or so for it to be ready. Finally the food was ready and I left. When I tried the sandwich it was bad at all. It was filling. All in all I had a decent experience. read more

Honestly very unhappy with this place. It's not worth the price if the food will be incorrect when I order it. I ordered the Bacon Ranch Fries and it came with no ranch and no cheese. The item is four ingredients and it was missing two of them. Not only that, but the chicken Caesar wrap continues to shrink while the price gets higher and higher. It's not worth it anymore if the quality is this terrible read more

Food, staff, and space are awesome. The only down side is the congested entryway. If you're planning on going here on a weekend, make sure you either get there early or be prepared to wait. I also enjoy ordering takeout from here during the week for lunch. read more

Incredible!!! The waitresses are so nice! The food is off the charts. From the thick, perfectly cooked bacon, the home fries are to dye for and the sweet cream battered pancakes I could have had 10 more of. We will be back to try more! read more

The portions were very large. I had the short stack of pancakes which was more than I could eat, and they had real butter! I would be a regular if I lived or worked in downtown Scranton. The prices seemed affordable enough for college students. We had a family group of 6 that ranged in age from 3yrs old to 76 and even with the baby throwing food the waitress kept my coffee hot and full. It was very clean. We sat near the Biden Street entrance so it was a bit bustling and noisey but there were plenty of seats on the Penn Ave side which would probably be quite and conducive to conversation. read more

Always a great stop for a grilled muffin, Burger or Liz and bagel. Megan is a fantastic waitress, always happy and wearing a smile 10/10

Where do I start? Came in between breakfast and lunch. About 4 tables in the restaurant. Seated and promptly had ordered taken. It takes 20 minutes for an order of french toast? In an empty restaurant?Ordered a short stack of French toast and Nutella with a side of bacon. Received a full stack. I tell the server, she says I'll charge you for what you eat. No I ordered a short stack. I was in a time crunch so I could only eat a short stack. The bacon was awful, one piece burnt and the rest fatty. The french toast had a ton of butter on it despite the Nutella and banana. I left without eating. Will never return... read more

As a alumna of the University of Scranton, I can say this is a fan favorite! I'm back in town this weekend for Parade day and it was a must that my friends and I stopped here to get Sunday breakfast ! They are small and if you come after 12 there is usually a wait, but it's worth the wait or you can order out ! The food is always good from breakfast selections to lunch. It's has a family feel and they are clean and very efficient. If you're ever in town and want to stop somewhere causal for breakfast or lunch, this is the place ! read more

I went here while visiting the aquarium and got a great late breakfast. The sausage and cheese omelet was perfect, eggs moist and fluffy, with plenty of flavorful, chopped sausage. My bacon was thick and hearty, the pork roll was tasty-fried (something lesser places don't do) and I loved the crispy golden hash browns. My server was pleasant and efficient. read more

We came here for breakfast and it was delicious! I had the breakfast scramble bowl that had a sort of Mexican twist: refried beans and rice and eggs and salsa and avocado. I added the chorizo sausage which was tasty! I would try the huevos rancheros if I go back! And my friend had the breakfast sandwich with a plain bagel. It was received well!! The place is well-kept and pleasant and full of sunlight! The staff were friendly and helpful. So it was a nice experience and we will probably return. I absolutely recommend! read more

Excellent brunch spot. The stuffed fruit pancakes are excellent. Coffee is strong. Good menu for breakfast lunch or brunch. Cant go wrong.

This has to be my favorite brunch location in Scranton. It's always packed on a weekend but there's plenty of indoor and outdoor seating available. Charming little place in a charming little city. Stopped here on a recommendation while passing through the area. No wild stories to tell here, just tales of good food and friendly employees. I enjoyed the grilled chicken in a sun dried tomato wrap. Love that they give a few different wrap options, I wish more places did the same. My lady enjoyed a speciality sandwich, the Electric City (I think), and enjoyed it. She also took our server's recommendation and enjoyed a Reese's Pieces cookie for dessert. She made the right choice :) Speaking of our server, she was, as I said before, very friendly. She kept the coffee flowing and took the time to chat with us a bit. She complimented the deli's laid back atmosphere. Which, of course, brings us to the deli itself. It's nicely decorated and VERY spacious. There are lots of big windows, which allow you to take in the town around you. Just a great, relaxing vibe. I definitely enjoyed my time here. If I ever find my way back to Scranton, it will be difficult to convince myself to eat anywhere else. read more

When your 3 yr old spits out fried chicken cutlets you know it's bad. They were clearly precooked, frozen and then refried. The French fries were soggy and flavorless. The steak that came with the steak and eggs platter was grey and rubbery. Clearly it was frozen as well. All in all very disappointing even for diner food. My Reuben sandwich was ok. At least it wasn't expensive. Never going back. read more

Hate to write a bad review in these times but the two stars had nothing to do with the pretty good service or outdoor seating. The food was just blah and was already cold on arrival. The omelette was bland and none of the fillings were cooked. Just not so fluffy egg wrapped around raw ingredients. The home fries rubbery and not many of them. I risked the huevos rancheros which can be either excellent or terrible and it was the latter. The base was greasy and deep fried. There wasn't a bean on the plate, just juice, and the salsa was a purée. The eggs were okay, if a little less cooked than I'd asked for. Basically, a runny, cold mess. read more

If I lived in Scranton and worked downtown then this would be my deli. It was very nice inside and very welcoming. It is located near the Steamtown mall with accessible parking at meters or for free in the parking garage with the mall. They serve breakfast all day long but I think they are only open till 3 pm at least on Saturday. I ordered the Mount Blanc and the wifer ordered a club. We got the pipsqueak a pancake. All in all, it came out to be about $18 The Mount Blanc is a Roast Beef, swiss, and Au Jou dip. I had never ordered this before and it was decent. They had plenty of roast beef to cover the entire sandwich. I would have like a little more cheese on mine. I think adding mushrooms would have made this perfect. My wife's club was packed with turkey and substantial amount of everything. She was very pleased with hers. The Pancake-wow- I could come back hear and order the pancake as they were pretty good without butter or syrup. Good service in a nice atmosphere makes this a welcome stop in Scranton. This isn't too far off of 81 either for the traveler going through needing lunch. read more

Was there this past Sunday, first let me say it's not a place to eat if you have celiac or special dietary needs. I asked the waitress what I could get in place of home fries and she offered me hashbrowns or potatoes. The only gluten-free item they had was a wrap, I would think she would've offered a small side salad, fruit or a vegetable of some sort. Felt very rushed to order. Food was good but I think our waitress forgot about us! Others who sat down after us got their food, and were halfway done eating before I called the waitress over, and she finally brought her food out after 40 minutes. The only thing that was hot were my eggs, the rest of the food was just warm, so I'm assuming it was sitting under the lamp for a while. After she dropped the food off, she never came back to check on us until she gave us our bill. We would go back, but definitely would ask for a different waitress. I believe her name was Helen. read more
