Bacon, Egg & Cheese with Fruit Cup
Sam K.

I think this is one of the better breakfast/brunch spots in Scranton. They also have a bunch of great food and drink options, so there's something for everyone. Although they have a lot of unique items on the menu, I got the bacon, egg and cheese on a roll with a side of fruit. I also got the honey bee iced latte, which was amazing. Everyone else loved their coffee choices too. They even have a coffee bar in the restaurant if you just want to grab a quick drink. I've also never had to wait to get a table, even when I came here with 7 people. A lot of other places in the area are much smaller and have longer waits, which is the main reason we came here. I'd definitely recommend checking this spot out!

BEC with hash browns and a side of home fries!

DELISH! Started off with mind blowing caramel latte and cold brew, best flavored coffee we e had in awhile. We ordered BEC on baguettes (optional hash brown addition is a game changer) I ordered a side of home fries mixed with flavorful sautéed peppers, this is how home fries should be done! This was a 8/10. Wish the baguettes had some more flavor, can't complain though. Thank you DD!! - Claudia and Jason

My clients picked this spot to eat and I decided to get the tuna sandwich. They called in the order. When I arrived I found parking on the street nearby. I walked into a very busy deli. I told the lady my name and paid. The food wasn't ready and it took about 20 more minutes or so for it to be ready. Finally the food was ready and I left. When I tried the sandwich it was bad at all. It was filling. All in all I had a decent experience.

Supporting their local PD, i need nothing else to say this place is top notch. Outdoor seating is nice. Great variety on menu for brunch and sandwiches.

Came on a Sunday for brunch. They are busy but it's normal for a Sunday. We got to sit outside. Indoors is open. I ordered avocado toast. Nothing out of the ordinary. But I split short stakes with my friend...delicious! If you come in definitely try their pancakes!

My wife and I love downtown Deli. It's our goto spot. The food is always fresh and dee lish. Friendly staff and great atmosphere. Downtown Deli is the best, the hell with all the rest!

We came for the first time three days in a row so that should tell you it is pretty good for breakfast. The place was nice and clean. The service was on point.

Full stack French toast with strawberries, bananas, & Nutella.

Was looking for dinner after a day at Steamtown. This place was what I was near, and BBQ sounded…read moregood. I did not come to drink any Ale tho, so I can't comment on that aspect. We waited at the front a couple of minutes which was okay considering they seemed busy, but then some party entered and were attended to right away. We basically just followed that party because I overheard the there wwer only tables in the outdoor patio. We were able to establish contact with wait staff out there and so it began. Staff was friendly but service was slow. We were waited on by about 4 different persons, which was a little confusing, but if that what it takes to get served, then fine. Again, I am guessing they were understaffed. We ordered some BBQ ribs which were quite good but the half rack was small IMO. They have nothing on Kansas City, but it was still pretty good. They appear to BBQ their meats on the premises. Ambiance was okay, fine for BBQ and beer. If I lived in Scranton, maybe this place would be on the list of options, IDK.

Don't come here on Wing Night Wednesday…read more. We made the mistake of coming here on wing night. We got our appetizer, chips and dip. Chips were homemade and burnt... 3/10. Dip was fine, probably out of a packet. Little did we know those burnt chips would be the only thing we would be eating for an hour with little to no refills. Seemed to be forgotten about with us being inside and I guess everyone else in the back. After an hour, our food came out. I got the brisket tacos, they were good. 8/10. My table got a chicken cheesesteak and ask for no mushrooms and ofc it came out with mushrooms... We had to get the wings, the wings were good! An hour wait good? No. 7/10. It took a weird amount of time for our last entree to come out and it was just like chicken tenders on a bun, no love. Oh and the pulled pork sandwich was more like slop. Our waitress's excuse was that they had a new chef. Sooooo I guess they decided to start training this chef during service. Food - 8/10 Service - 5/10 Atmosphere - 7/10 Overall - 6/10

I've heard a lot about this place and have lived in Scranton for a few years. There's allegedly…read moresome history between the two establishments of similar name that I will not get into here. I was in the area with some friends and I asked if they wanted to try this place out. It's kinda tucked away on a street I don't usually take. The place looks very retro, like my granddads house. The indoor saloon doors, machinery from the 50s and emphasis on milkshakes all kinda do it. Neat old-school wooden booths and tile floors all kinda make the experience pretty cool. The hot dog was fine. It was a fried hot dog. I put it a tier below the Nathan's Coney Island dog I had in Coney Island. Never been much of a chili of this variety. There was something nostalgic about the experience. Fries were crispy and shoestring just about. Like a cross between McDonald's and the classic diner fry. Milkshake was phenomenal. we got chocolate and mint in our and it was like a liquid Andes mint chocolate. Good value experience. I don't know about getting a hot dog again but I'd certainly return for the shake

Didn't care for the gravy and cheese fries. The fries are better suited to be served plain and dip in ketchup or cheese but not that gravy. The cheeseburgers were tasty but not "Wow!" The wife didn't care for her Texas chili dog today. Last time we ate inside, this time took it to-go and ate in the car. Not too messy but you gotta be careful not to get the chili sauce on yourself. LOL! I think this longtime landmark is worth an inside visit to enjoy a bit of history and lots of nostalgia. Just don't expect the best chili dog, but you will have an overall good experience.

Our family tracked to Scranton for a basketball game @ Marywood. We targeted Dutchies on the…read morerecommendation of a Scranton native. The format was unusual in that it appeared to be a carry out place- but with a dining room attached. You order & pay- then go sit and wait for your meal to be served. The dining room is more comfortable than a typical pizza place with a family warmth. Our crew ordered chicken soup, burgers, pizza and a sub to go for out basketball player. We selected their "Old Forge" style pizza- iconic to the region. It didn't disappoint. The crust was light & crispy, the sauce in the sweet side and the blend of cheeses (including American cheese which is the hallmark, I'm told, of the style). It was delicious. I am a pizza 'freak'. I've enjoyed pizza from iconic restaurants in Naples, Rome, Chicago, New York, California, Detroit and now...Scranton! The burger people praised their 8oz. Burgers. The diner that enjoyed chicken soup (an accomplished cook) had high praise for the home made flavor and textures. When you add that we were treated like family members of this family owned establishment, our experience was exceptional. My only "complaints" are that: the check was far less than expected and (more of an opportunity than a complaint) I would have spent $$ for a nice red wine to complement my meal.
