You know how they say you shouldn't judge a book by its cover? Well, I was totally wrong about this place! I had no idea the food was so good or the place was so spacious inside driving by it. There was even a separate section for the back of the facility to accommodate everyone. My friend always recommends this place, and I finally gave it a try. Just be prepared to wait if you go on a Sunday morning. The food was delicious, even though my pancakes weren't as hot as I'd hoped. They came on a separate plate from my scrambled eggs and hash browns, but they were still warm enough to enjoy. Our waitress was amazing and made sure we had everything we needed. I'd definitely recommend this place and would go back again.

Decent breakfast / diner experience. You could tell there are plenty of locals and regulars!

Have to say first time here and food was amazing. The place well taken care of and very clean for being busy at the time there. Had the biscuits and gravy which wasn't the white gravy like most places. Very well seasoned and definitely had sausage in it. My friend got the Cinnamon Toast Crunch French toast. And even had a piece of that PA famous scrapple. The only complaint I would have is that the waitress only had 2 of us at table and messed up drinks. She brought wrong drink out for me which I was okay with but, still it was 2 drinks.

I gotta tell you places like this are few and far between. We traveled to the area for Labor Day weekend for some hiking and kayaking and we're surprised to find many breakfast places closed. Scratch kitchen was my first choice and YAHOO they were not only open but open early. The people are really great. The joint it quaint and comforting. The menu is OUTSTANDING and everything is scratch made. I only regret going once but we will be back because we love the many parks and lakes. Don't miss an opportunity to try this restaurant

I was in WB for a while and thought I would try out this place. It had a great menu online. Seated right away and the menu was impressive. Staff was very nice too. The food was not super impressive. The potato were uncooked and the pancakes were flavorless. The burrito was good though. I told the waitress I was only able to eat one bite of the pancakes but they would not remove them from my bill. I don't think I will come back.

Finding places like this, when you are in an area that is completely new to you, are why YELP! is awesome!! We were in the area for an appointment and hungry. I pulled up the Yelp app. I found the reviews intriguing, the menu looked great, so we headed over after our appointment. We were sad to find out that we could no longer get breakfast, which is what we really had our heart set on, But everything looks so good we just decided to order lunch. My husband had the tuna club and I had fried chicken club. We both had a loaded potato salad. EVERYTHING WAS EXCELLENT!!!! I cannot wait to go back and eat my way through their menu!!!! We LOVED IT!! it's adorable it's clean they have good prices. They have a huge selection. They have a nice staff. It's just a great little spot!!! Bring cash, they add a % for credit cards.

It is difficult to find this place, the parking lot is overdue for a paving and the outside is a bit rough. We got inside and it was loud and not too pretty. Then they showed us to the back room which was quiet and lovely. The menu is extensive and we had trouble choosing but when the food came we knew we had picked correctly! The Italian Cannoli pancakes and Maple Bacon Belgian waffles were AMAZING! We split our orders in half and swapped plates so we could have both. The waitress was attentive and very nice. If you are looking for someplace with delicious food and don't care about how it looks from the outside, you will be very happy! One thing to note is that credit and debit cards have an extra charge, so you may want to bring cash.

A must stop for breakfast. It's a small place so you'll likely have to wait a few mins in your car but absolutely worth it. The staff are very attentive and efficient. Our server recommended the potato casserole and it was my favorite part of my breakfast. Obviously had a few bites before taking the picture:) Breakfast Sausage Omelette Eggs

Very sad when I heard the news Andy's closed down; every visit since we'd just go to Denny's, but then everyone began to rave about Scratch Kitchen and I knew I had to give them a try. The menu was extensive, offering unique flavor combinations. It was very hard to decide. I wanted to try one of the loaded pancake combinations, but after all my holiday eating I settled for something savory in the sausage gravy and biscuits with eggs & my hubby the Tony Soprano omelette. The Tony Soprano was a massive omelette packed full of meat slices with bold seasoning on top- paired with tater tots (hubby's choice) and wheat bread this was a super hearty plate. The sausage and gravy gave me mixed feelings- the biscuits were flaky buttery and delicious. The sausage gravy was savory with a nice peppery kick and hearty sausage chunks-but paired with only two eggs the dish was on the smaller side and left me hungry. I think since everything else on the 'favorites' section comes paired with a potato option it was unfortunate they skimped on this dish. Sampling my nephew's chocolate chip pancakes, they were fluffy & buttery packed with chocolate chips. Overall, I would try them out again exploring their menu options & specials- but I wasn't instantly in love...time will tell : )

So glad we chose the Scratch Kitchen over IHOP for our breakfast. This is definitely a "diners, dives and drive-ins" kind of place. It's not much to look at; it is small but has a extensive menu and some great breakfast offerings. We had fun sharing mascarpone cheese and strawberry filled French toast, eggs Benedict, Turtle pancakes, short rib stuffed omelette, hash browns, scrapple, and coffee. We had a 15 minute wait for seating, but once our order was in, the delicious food came in a timely manner. All orders were well prepared. The pancakes are light and fluffy, the eggs In the Benedict were just right. Our waitress was Sabrina. She had a friendly attitude, and took good care of us. Shout out to Sabrina and the Scratch kitchen! If you are ever in the Wilkes-Barre Scranton area, you must visit the Scratch Kitchen!

The service here was rather slow. And the food we received was rather overcooked/burnt. We were pretty disappointed.

They've kept the tradition alive while bringing in a fresh generation and style. Big shoutout to my server, Eve--aka the hat lady--for her great service. She suggested I try their Western Omelet, so I went for it, along with sourdough toast. And of course, you can't skip home fried potatoes with peppers and onions. They were busy, so I waited my turn, but it was worth it. The toast was perfectly golden with just the right amount of butter, and the potatoes were crispy outside, soft inside, with the peppers and onions adding extra flavor. The omelet itself was fluffy, loaded with ham, onions, and bell peppers--absolutely delicious. And I can't forget the milk and OJ. Thanks again to Eve for the great service and tasty food--I'm already looking forward to coming back. That said, management seriously needs to get their act together -- better scheduling and actual leadership would be a start. Now the food... wow. Dry, bland chicken that tasted like it had a personal vendetta. Broccoli was weirdly bitter and rubbery. The nacho platter? Straight-up movie theater reject: canned cheese, beans, and sadness. Portions were laughably small -- my toddler nephew eats more. And the price? Absolutely not worth it. Cafeteria food at fine-dining prices. Management should be embarrassed. Time to revamp the kitchen, taste your food, and remember what a restaurant is supposed to be. Such a shame for such a nice space.

The first night, I decided to try the patty melt. It was amazing. It was a very decent sized sandwich, the burger was delicious, I loved the grilled onions, and the cheese and rye bread were perfect.
