Hello SGW Country! Today's show takes us to a little market located in Pittston PA on S Main Street called Sabatelle's. Now the owner wanted me to point out that they started out as just a butcher shop and eventually a market. As you can see by the video the steaks looked so good. OK now also I want to give a shout out to the staff, especially a worker named Judy who is a neighbor and watches the shows like, "Outside the Box Live!" A big thank you to you also Judy for watching. Now as for the hoagie, this was packed as I chose the Italian sub with keeping it as it comes just sweet peppers and of course mayo no dressing. You could just taste the freshness of the veggies, along with the meat and cheese. I definitely recommend coming out here if not a deli sub, check out the meats, they even make their own kielbasa. Picked up some goods for cold antipasto for Easter. The store made provolone was excellent! Very sharp! Prosciutto di Parma, roasted peppers, stuffed olives, stuffed peppers, long hots were all delicious. Wish the mozzarella was homemade too but was still good. read more

I live walking distance from Sabatelle's market & even though they are a little pricey I believe in supporting the local neighborhood establishments especially when their produce is really fresh & everyone treats you like family. Sabatelle's reminds me of the Italian Deli's I used go to when I was a kind growing up in NYC. Their sandwiches are on the small side for my taste but they are really good. read more

Although I've never been to Sabatelle's Market , I'd like to review the wonderful Porketta that I was lucky enough to try. Porketta is either the loin or butt of the pig, seasoned in a wonderful array of spices such as rosemary and cloves, garlic. Popped in the crock pot for 5 or 6 hrs and this baby was pure perfection. I thought for sure that I'd find something similar in one of the many Philadelphia meat markets but no such luch. The trip up North is well worth it for this tender juicy hunk of meat! read more

This store is amazing. It would remind one of an Italian Deli in Brooklyn or Staten Island. They have amazing prepared foods made from scratch and their Italian meats are the best. The garlic sausage and Chicketta are my favorite.The service is also second to none. read more

We waited WAY too long to come here! What a wonderful Italian feast for the eyes! From the minute we walked in, we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves, browsing the great variety of pastas, cheeses, Italian treats and delicious looking meats. It brought back memories for my sister and myself, and we found ourselves laughing and thinking wonderful thoughts of our Italian mother and all the little things she would have so loved in the store-including Dean Martin! We thought we were in heaven! We were lucky enough to nab a "fresh from the oven" Asiago Cheese bread to take home.. and in remembrance of mom, we dug into it without waiting to get it home! (she would always tear the heel of the Italian bread off and enjoy it on her way home from the store!) The cheese bread was melt-in-your mouth INCREDIBLE! I can't wait to go back and try some of the ready made dinners.(and get more Asiago bread of course!) The eggplant lasagna looked wonderful! And the best part? The owner is a sweetheart and even though she had never met us before she treated us like family! Love her! They cut the meat fresh for you, right in front of you. The bread is always fresh, and they have quite a selection of cheeses and pastas. Being Italian myself, this is the only place to go for a good steak or pasta. You can have a great cookout, too. The butchers are alway very kind, and the owners almost always 'let you go' on an item or two. Very high quality meats, cheeses, pastas and breads. There is also a nice selection of Italian-inspired desserts, like cannoli, torrone (home-made) and tiramisu. read more
