This is a great little breakfast joint on Mcklintock and University. Real easy to find. The rest of thestrip mall is suspect, liquor store and all... I went several times this week while in town and had the 2 eggs, Ham, hash browns, and sourdough toast. The hash browns were burt a couple of times, but the rest was great. The Ham was very large. The staff is really great. The timing of checking on us was perfect. They were able to anticipate our needs and were very helpful. Always check on the specials. Solid 2.4 stars but willing to give it another shot. I use to go to the Chandler sunny's before I moved. Was my go to spot well over IHOP or Dennys 100%. Large meals, decent pricing and good staff every single time. Was pleases to see I had one close to my new home. But unfortunately the experience was not even close. One of my 2 med cooked fried eggs were broke and well done. Kitchen staff and or the waiter should of caught that and provided better quality control. My guest with me ordered the same thing. When we got our orders the waiter said to him, "started a new set of toast and your toast will be out soon". You should not bring the order out unless it is complete. My opinion. Waiter never came by to check in until we were done with the meal. My guest still never received his toast. Sauce bottles were sticky and dirty. The food seemed rushed and a sense of lack (was not a busy hour). I'll give them another try because of my experiences at another Sunny's. If it is a dud again, I will be sure to post and will drive the extra time and see the Chandler location. read more

I will start by saying the staff was super friendly and very attentive! I like the homey/old school diner vibes it has. I am giving this place 3 stars solely on the meal I had. I will say I've only been here about two times and I can't remember what I had the first time so other items on the menu could be totally amazing and I wouldn't know. I love this place! I wish I took photos from today's brunch. My boyfriend and I easily come here once a week. Today Taylor was our server, she was so nice and sweet. I come to this diner for breakfast every time I visit Tempe where my son goes to ASU. Today while I was there with my other son, having a fantastic classic breakfast, an awful couple dined and dashed right in front of me. So not fair, people work really hard for their money, just for you to steal a big country breakfast? I was really happy because I like my eggs with the yolk partially covered and usually restaurants bring me an uncooked yolk. The pancakes had great flavor, vanilla without being overwhelming. The food was good I had breakfast with French toast I believe always cooked well the coffee was hot the staff was nice and the management pleasing. Expect to spend around 10 to $12 a plate possibly more if you like the add ons but it's well worth it everything is cooked excellent and there's more than enough food on each plate to fill you up. The food here is always delicious however I am disappointed that an establishment I used to enjoy prior to bariatric surgery does not offer the kid's menu to adults as a smaller portion option. I was advised by the server it is not offered to adults and told I can order each item separate after I shared with her that I am a bariatric patient. I was bothered by this policy and wanted to share my feedback with the manager and after almost 20 min of waiting I left. I am not sure that Sunny's is the best place for me post surgery but I hope this policy changes and your business allows people to not be wasteful and order in smaller portions. read more

Tried this place after seeing some very good reviews. I wasn't sure when pulling in the parking lot on a busy Sunday morning. Crowded and took awhile to get a seat even with quite a few empty tables. I was in the area and was hankering for biscuits and gravy. I arrived at 8:30 on a Tuesday morning and only six people were eating. After perusing the big menu, I actually settled on the Irish Benedict. It came to $12.39 after tax. I had a good server (Jennifer), who gave me good attention with a pleasant attitude. Another server seated some of her friends, who insisted on sitting in the closed section. They were obnoxiously loud and vulgar and she allowed it. Later, when they got some scowls from the six other diners, she hushed them. On to breakfast: the eggs were overcooked but not by much. The breakfast potatoes were good, with a mix of fluffy and crunchy potatoes and no peppers, yay! The Muffin was pretty tough tho and required a knife. I am dumbfounded by what just happened to me.. It's 6:15 in the morning, I ordered over the phone and drove here to pick it up. Lyndsey, was the one who helped me over the phone and in store. I ordered omelettes and SIGNATURE WAFFLES. I paid for my order and somehow, someway French toast was brought up in the conversation before I was about to leave. I said I didn't order French toast, I ordered waffles. She told me that, I ordered French toast and she even read it back to me over the phone. She said no, I put it in on the POS When you ordered. I know for sure that I ordered waffles. The girl that was telling me her order does not even like French toast... And then as I'm paying for the waffles, after I just paid for a French toast that I didn't order. She TELLS ME!!! I'm sorry, I haven't made any money this week. I Can't afford to pay for it! Let me start by saying it was $60 for four people (three of which ordered breakfast). I went online to look at the menu and chose a sandwich that came with roast beef, green Chile and jalapenos only to find out that the "menu online is way outdated and they know it".... So I ordered an Arizona Melt and asked if they could add green chile to it. Oh sure they could. Charged me $1.99 to add about a tablespoon of some crappy canned chopped green chile which just made the sandwich soggy and it fell apart all over the place.
