I love coming to Lucy's for breakfast. It family run and everyone is super friendly. Lucy's is located in one of the Fountainhead complex office buildings. Each of these buildings has something to offer, but Lucy's may be the overall best. What makes them special and above the rest, is something so simple and very basic. They actually cook your food and fry your eggs et cetera, as you wait. Nothing is premade. Everything is fresh from scratch and everything tastes good. NIce! I also need to sing their praises of their coffee. Whether it's their drip, or specialty coffee drinks, everything is delicious. I've been coming here for eight months and I have never had a bad meal. I would energetically recommend them to anyone who lives or works in the area. Enjoy!

I went here for breakfast one morning and had a breakfast sandwich that was made to order. Yummy. It is tucked into a corporate center so finding it might be a little bit of a challenge. It is worth the search!

Tiny potato salad. Not even filled halfway

It's very pricey for OK food. The portions are on the small side. See tiny potato salad photo. The egg omelet was very poor quality. Soggy, mushy avocado. Hardly any veggies in the veggie omelette. I asked for a chicken wrap, they gave me a turkey wrap. There was too much sauce, which made everything too wet/soggy. Sauce had a good flavor. Staff is really nice. It's a tiny café inside a business complex. No other eating. If you need a bite to eat quickly, and you don't care about taste this place is OK.

I love this cafe, its near work and they have a great selection of lunch items and there is a pond outside you can sit at, quick service too...they always have a lunch and breakfast special...always unique and great...i had a roast beef wrap with green chili's on it, was delicious and i had chicken breast sandwich on sour dough with green chili's...and sometimes i get omelettes, its very friendly and they have lots of beverages and different coffees...its a good spot and quick. they have big tables area, couches, magazines, its good spot to wait on someone in the building or take a friend to lunch if you work nearby.

What a find in the heart of Tempe! A friend invited me to lunch here on. Monday and wow, they were…read morebusy! Full parking lot! That was good sign. We shared a Berry Avocado Quinoa Bowl and a Perfectly Grilled Cheese. They even plated them separately for us! (2 plates with half a grilled cheese and French fries on each and 2 bowls with our Berry Avocado quinoa! So sweet and helpful!) Everything was very delicious--fries were seasoned and crispy! The grilled cheese and sweet and salty (they use their spiced pear bread, a delicious four cheese blend and bacon). Quinoa bowl was very hearty! The space was cozy and not too loud--my friend and I were able to catch up without having to raise out voices. Cannot wait to come back to try the rest of their menu!

I ordered one of the side salads but I asked if I could have them add fresh pear to it because of course the name of the place is Perfect Pear Bistro so I was naturally craving pears. The ambience was cute and classy. I sat on the patio because it was gorgeous outside, but I did take a peek inside and it has a low lit upscale rustic vibe. There was plenty left in the salad after I housed my sandwich (elegantly) and I finally had to tap out and get a to-go box. Lovely little stop, would come back.

We discovered (well really re-discovered after 5+ years) Original ChopShop when we were in town for…read morethe IronMan. What a delicious surprise and local gem, right near ASU. They serve salads, bowls, sandwiches, all-day breakfast, protein shakes, fresh juices, and other healthy, fast-casual eats for dine-in or take-away. My kind of place! This is one of those spots that I'd frequent if I lived nearby (ChopShop, want to open in Northern California?!). I stumbled upon this spot after a little self-guided tour of ASU campus on a sleepy Sunday morning (everyone must have been asleep after the big football game the day before). I'd forgotten about this spot and it was such a happy surprise to find it again and to see that they survived the pandemic and are still thriving. First visit I ordered: -Cheat Day Wrap: scrambled egg, bacon, white cheddar, smashed avocado, tomato, brown rice (I ordered without rice), and turkey or ham (I skipped these too) *DELISH on a whole wheat wrap!!! Full of flavor and super easy to eat. This hearty breakfast sando fueled my active morning of hiking "A" Mountain (Hayden Butte Preserve) the running around the the IronMan course to spectate (30,000+ steps as a spectator!). We couldn't leave town without another trip. I took my guy and we enjoyed a salad, another breakfast wrap, and: -Chicken + Prosciutto Sandwich: grilled chicken, prosciutto, fontina, arugula, fig mostarda, dijon (no dijon for us), on a house bun. If you're in the area, looking for a healthy-ish breakfast, lunch, or snack, definitely check out Original ChopShop. Note: it gets busy at peak meal hours with students and faculty. Order at the kiosks (super easy), grab a number, find a table in their cozy interior or on their large front patio, and your food will be brought to you. Have a question? Just ask - the staff were very friendly and helpful in guiding our choices. And I love that they allow modifications to most menu items! We'll be back!!!

But my first experience was not that great. They had plenty of places to sit, whether you like to sit indoors or outdoors. I decided to try the "Glow Up Shake," which is their protein shake. The shake was okay; it didn't blow me away. Considering that it has banana, pineapple, dates, etc., I was hoping it would melt in my mouth with a galaxy of flavor--darn, no such luck. But like I said, it was an okay drink that I think others might like. Now, as for the $3 pre-wrapped Triple Chocolate Chip Cookie? The first cookie they brought me was hard as a diamond. I asked if they could heat it up to soften it a bit like they do at Starbucks, but he said they can't? Wow, I didn't realize that heating a Triple Chocolate Chip Cookie was so complex that it can't be done by some places. Anyway, the minor good news was he brought me a different cookie that was soft enough to bend and break off a piece and chew without worrying about breaking a tooth. But the big question is, will I be back? Of course I will; the place has a plethora of healthy food which I like. And I'm sure when I order something other than a diamond-hard Triple Chocolate Chip Cookie, my experience will be somewhat better. This place does have a fantastic Wi-Fi. That's a plus.

Easy peasy 5 stars…read more Tempe Eats has a cool concept, there are several smaller restaurants that are setup in a food court deal, you use the QR Code to get your food. They have alcohol which seems to be sold by a different company-- Anyways chik pop is just amazing. I got the OG Sando spicy which was a perfectly fried chicken thigh in a sandwich-- they add an extra piece of chicken with it so just on portion size this place is a winner. The heat was solid and the chicken was juicy check my pic. Staff was super friendly and the Tempe Eats has someone checking on you as well. The sandwiches come with a purple Italian style dressing ( not sure what is was) that you may find off-putting so if you are sensitive to that stuff get the sauce on the side. I didn't mind it all. Sandwich comes with fries-- the place has water pitchers with lemons in it, get some water. You need to try this place! Can't wait to go back.

I ordered the Hot Honey Chicken Sandwich, and the portion was huge the chicken was spilling out of the bread! I was actually the only one at the table who finished the whole thing (I was hungry!). We came here for my brother's birthday and our server did a great job making him feel special. They offered him a birthday shot, but since he doesn't drink, they brought us churros for the table instead which was sweet of them. One thing to note* I wasn't expecting it to be as spicy as it was. Our server did give me a heads up but I personally loved the heat. If you're not into spicy food though, it might be a bit much.

Let's start with the food: 5/5. I got the breakfast bowl and it was hands down the best breakfast…read morebowl I've ever had. It had duck bacon (was curious about this bc I'm not a fan of duck), turkey sausage, black beans, quinoa, egg, spinach and more. Somehow that entire medley was perfection when it comes to flavor. Usually bowls can be dry with no sauce, but it was not lacking at all. Staff and service: 5/5 we brought our dog Tom who's a pretty big golden doodle and sometimes can get overly excited when he gets brought outside. But their staff was nice enough to give us a dog bowl with water for him and served his egg on a little to go box plate. It's a little stressful with Tom at times and they made it so much easier. Inside/outside set-up: 5/5. They have a gorgeous inside dining with bar situation. Interior design was super cute for a date and I loved the hanging lamps. Outside had a dog friendly patio and they had cute canopy booths. Overall, we went here on a whim and it's my new favorite spot.

We were welcomed with a friendly smile. We explained that the other half of our party was on their way & the host promptly prepared our table... mostly. There were small plates set for each of us, but only one roll-up/napkin (for 4) & no drink menu. Minor details, but it kinda set the tone for the service experience. Now listen... the spot itself is cute. Once we actually got service, our waiter was cool. It just took forevvverrrrr & I ended up having to request cutlery after food was served. To be fair, it was busy, but there also seemed to be plenty of wait staff, so I'm not exactly sure where the disconnect was. Food-wise: the spinach artichoke dip was definitely the table favorite. My caprese panini was ok, it was sadly lacking pesto which feels a little criminal for a caprese situation. Our friends loved the fancy French toast & I was absolutely there for the prickly pear mimosas The entire brunch honestly felt like it was one dropped plate away from becoming a sitcom episode. One poor new waiter dropped a plate on the floor, then later knocked glasses off the rack above the bar & shattered a couple right next to guests sitting there. I genuinely felt bad for him because you could tell he was having a rough shift. That said, I really appreciated that they acknowledged the long wait & gave us a discount without us having to ask. That kind of accountability goes a long way. Overall, I'd still go back & give them another try because the atmosphere was fun, the vibe was there, and I can see the potential. Every restaurant has an off day -- especially during a busy brunch rush.
