With 99 Ranch Market right next door, Sunmerry definitely has some stiff competition. 99 Ranch Market has buy one get one free breads after 6 pm although Sunmerry offers some more high quality bakery items. The good thing about Sunmerry is that there's a Happy Lemon drink shop inside. I would recommend just going to 99 Ranch after 6 pm to get 2 breads for $1.25 while Sunmerry sells 1 bread for around $1.40 each. read more

Sunmerry Bakery - Coffee & Tea Near Me - Edison, New Jersey

Pretty famous for people from Taiwan. It's a fine bakery store. Everything is delicious there. The price is fair at the local bakery store

My new fav bakery! Loved the bubble tea with cream, matcha tea chiffon cake and my husband loved his passion green tea something. I like that they asked about the level of sweetness too. I went with 50 and my husband went with 30. Both of us loved our selections! read more

A nice bakery! Like the coffee bun, shredded pork bun and almond croissant. Also ordered the tiramisu cake for my mom's birthday. She really liked it! read more

This bakery is amazing. Pastries, bread and cake always baked fresh daily. The cakes and creme puffs are my favorites from here. They're all not too sweet and provide just the right amount of sugar for my cravings. The coffee here is also very good. In my personal opinion, their hot coffee is average but where they really excel is their iced coffee. They also have a vast menu of bubble teas. Love this spot! read more

Came here on a Saturday and had a few choice pastries with bubble tea. It's a grab and go kind of place and all the food we tried was delicious. I highly recommend the bacon roll and custard buns (so good!). A lot of items were brought out fresh as we looked around. Definitely a nice place to eat breakfast! read more

My family and I love all of the pastry's especially the Coffee Brioche. Their drinks are also great especially the Tiger Coffee with boba.

Really like this place - awesome milk and bubble tea They have this cafeteria style pastry bar and it all looks freshly baked.never had anything we didn't like here. We love the Nutella buns and the mushroom and cheese flatbreads. They have very nice looking cakes and it's an overall great place to hang out and relax. I could chill here for hours studying or just hanging with friends catching up over coffee or bubble tea. read more

bakery with decent amount of selections also has boba joint inside (happy lemon) and cakes bread is a bit pricey but taste ok

I liked this bakery better than Paris Baguette. I tried the Nutella Bun, the Egg and Scallion sandwich, the ham and corn bun (my all time favorite!) and took home the coffee brioche, cookies and cream panna cotta, etc. all which were AMAZINGLY delicious, fresh, and priced very reasonably. I also ordered a Salted Caramel Cheese Foam Latte which was also lovely. It was a bit too rich for the size, however. I think a small size would have been sufficient, but I think a medium is their smallest size. It's a small, cozy, and adorable. Really enjoyed my visit here! read more

A pretty standard bakery. Everything is good quality and there are a lot of pastry options. I especially like Happy Lemon. Drinks are always good and they do use legit lemons (not that artificial stuff). Other than that, staff is nice and the interior is always clean. Place is not too crowded and there's plenty of seating! read more

I have a soft spot for Taiwanese businesses. Nevertheless, here's a brief honest review. The selection and presentation leaves more to be desired compared to its Korean counterparts not too far away. I would like to see some more seasonal items, but there are 4 items that I think are bomb Bo-lo charsiu buns - pretty awesome sweet and savory combo Green tea croissant - that green tea crumb topping is so good Coffee brioche - perfectly fluffy with a hint of coffee aroma. The cookie crust on top is equally pleasant Mushroom cheese bread - I find myself craving this always. read more

Was pleasantly surprised that they served Happy Lemon at this sunmerry location. My friend and I got black tea with cheese foam and their new tropical fruit tea with less sugar and less ice. Their service is nice - they recommended lowering the sugar level, which I appreciated after tasting the drinks. I was a little disappointed to find out that they didn't have the slushies that I had tried at another Happy Lemon location I had visited in California. But the black tea with cheese foam was still good. The tropical fruit tea had a bit of a bitter taste but wasnt bad. I wish they would add the lemon slushies to their menu though!! read more

Sunmerry Bakery - Black tea w cheese foam and passion fruit tea - Coffee & Tea Near Me - Edison, New Jersey

been here twice, the first time because someone told me that this is the closest bakery to the 85 degree bakery in LA! the first time I went here I just purchased their fruit tart cake, I think it was almost $40 and honestly I don't think is all that. It's just a regular fruit cake with peach pudding. I think it's pretty unique with the peach pudding but I'm wasnt really into it. Then the second time here, I purchased their mango mousse cake, mango cheese tart little pie and their custard bread. I don't think their bakery is like the 85 degrees, but their mango cheese tart pie is pretty good! However the custard bread is ok, a little bitter taste maybe too much rum? As for the mango mousse, I didn't get to try it. all in all, it's definitely worth the try! read more

Love the service here. I usually get the passion fruit with jelly. No sugar. The bake stuff looks delicious but I try to stay away from bread. read more

I have always been a fan of Sunmerry bread and used to get my fix at their Fort Lee location. So, I was happy when I noticed that they had opened a story right next to the new 99 Ranch Supermarket in Edison. Location is super convenient (right off Rt. 1) and selection is good. I have to say, the only reason I didn't give it five stars is because for some reason I feel like their selection is not as varied as the store in Fort Lee. I will say though that they do bake throughout the day, so it could just be that when I went, they did not have the type of bread I wanted. The breads that I did buy were all delicious. They are currently doing a promotion of buy 5 get 1 free, and then their next promotion will be buy $15, get $5 off (I think that starts either next week or the week after). They also plan to sell bubble tea from Happy Lemon soon (although I will always be getting mine from Coco because nothing beats Coco). read more

The bread is so soft. Good variety. I hope they will keep that way and add more variety in the future read more

This place is definitely better than other super expensive bakeries around for cakes, bubble tea, bread and pastry. We went with i a large group which made it easier to explore this bakery. Tried their pound cakes, pudding, tarts, savary spinach and mushroom rolls, bubble tea and coffee. We liked most of the stuff we tried. Must try place in central Jersey! read more

Went here for a change from my usual bakery and I was pleasantly surprised. I bought the strawberry custard cake and mushroom bread. Both were really yummy. The staff is friendly but looked unhappy. And the line was little chaotic. I had to guess where it was. It's a small place so don't expect to find a seat. Overall I was pleased and I will go back. read more

Ordered coffee bread, green tea cold bread, black tea with salted cheese, and bubble milk tea. This is the first bakery review I've ever given, but it's so good that I had to write one. The best overall bakery (food/cake/drink) I've ever been to. read more

I really like the bubble tea at this bakery. It's called happy lemon. It's not the bakery's bubble tea. I like the hot green tea salted cheese. The sweet and fragrant green tea is delicious with the salty foam on the top. I usually ask for 50% sugar with that. If you get a cold drink you change the amount of ice as well. read more

Went there for the first time today. Absolutely loved it!!! The staff is great! The pastries are so yummy. Bubble tea is good as well! The prices are great! They do have minim of $5 on credit cards so keep that in mind! read more

Sunmerry Bakery - Chocolate pudding milk tea with buboa - Coffee & Tea Near Me - Edison, New Jersey

Sunmerry has finally opened up a location in Edison! They are still in soft opening stage, but coinciding with the new Ranch 99, they are offering different bakery items for $1 everyday this week, and some items for 50% off! We tried their brioche and a potato salad fried bread, which were both tasty. I can't wait to come back after their official grand opening to try more of their bread. For people craving more Chinese/ Taiwanese style baked goods, Sunmerry is an awesome addition! They aren't serving boba just yet, but their menu looks interesting. read more

No complaints about the food but in the last couple of weeks the sizes of cakes and pastries have shrunk. The cake attached is almost $5.50. This same chocolate mousse cake used to be almost an inch inch and a half more. read more

Sunmerry Bakery - Coffee & Tea Near Me - Edison, New Jersey

Sunmerry Bakery is an Asian bakery chain, originally from Japan and Taiwan, that has finally made its way over to the east coast. They offer both traditional Asian pastries and more modern takes on traditional favorites. Their breads and pastries are absolutely delicious! Flaky yet soft, and the perfect amount of sweetness. I highly recommend the green tea croissant or the nutella cookie, which is less of a cookie and more of a airy puff pastry. Their puddings, which come in various flavors, are quite tasty as well! I would, however, stay away from their cakes, which I found disappointing and too creamy. Overall, a great spot, and I'm sure to be back again! read more

Bakery items are great. This review is not about the quality of their products. It's extremely disappointing that a Chinese bakery cannot write messages on cakes in Chinese. Makes me wonder what type of bakers they got working there. As a Chinese American who can't write Chinese. I can at least draw out the characters. Most pastry chefs I know are artists. read more

Excellent location! Best bakery ever!! I love everything I tried from here (rou song bao, garlic bread, triple chocolate) and am so excited to try the other items we bought. I think it may have a bigger selection than the Fort Lee location. The lady at the register who interacted with us today (~3pm) was patient, nice and accurate. Wish everyone in customer service was like her! read more

Oooh this place is delicious! Desserts are all so pretty you're tempted to buy them all. Boba teas are also very good.

wow, this sunmerrry is better than the one in fort lee! a lot of foot traffic which is nice to see. very good bubble tea with half the normal sugar. people seem to like to hang out here, especially the younger folks. read more

I tried 4 flavors so far, taro waltz, green tea croissant, bbq pork puff pastry and garlic pastry. All of them are so good and fresh!

Sunmerry is my go-to bakery. Growing up in Taiwan and often have bread/Taiwanese pastries for breakfast develops my love for Bread, or more so, Taiwanese pastries. A few years ago, when I found out there's a Sunmerry opening in Edison, I was super happy because there's finally a GOOD place that sells Taiwanese bake goods, unlike the ones sold inside Chinese supermarkets that goes stale after a day or two. Needless to say, when Sunmerry opened, I was there at least once a week stocking up. My favorites are the taro waltz, big coconut, shredded pork, bolo bun, and curry pan. The cakes here are really good too, not too sweet. I've pretty much tried almost every flavor, from the chocolate mousse, mango mousse, tiramisu, taro pudding, to the strawberry cream. The happy lemon here sells pretty good bubble tea, too! So definitely try to come here and taste all the different flavors pastries/cakes/beverages they offer! read more

Had to drive 45minutes to get to this place but totally worth it. The sweet bread is delicious. The Boba not so much.

Really good boba tea and desserts. A bit pricey, but worth it.

So good love this company been to many this is the 3rd one each one has its own touch but all so darn good. Th best part is kinda never seen before cheese in a drink but do darn good ! read more

my go to bakery in NJ. Staff are always so welcoming and the baked goods are so authentic like you're in Taiwan for great prices.

Stopped by because my go to cafe was closed. I got a hot chocolate, and it was absolutely amazing. I will be back :))
