If I could leave zero stars, I would! We ordered the afternoon tea for five people ($35pp). A few of us have dietary restrictions (fish and nuts) and clearly stated them. We asked for anything with fish be served on a separate plate. The waiter agreed to do so. We got the teas first. They added 50% sweetness to two pots of tea without asking if we wanted the tea sweet. It was pretty much undrinkable unless you were a hummingbird. We waited over an hour for the food, with mostly undrinkable tea (though the waiter did bring a few paper cups of water), and we actually had to flag down the waiter to ask when we were going to get our food. When it came, all the salmon was intermingled with the rest of the food on the same plate. There were some cucumber sandwiches and some sliced cucumbers just sitting on the plate on no bread because it was multi-grain and had seeds, NOT NUTS! The cucumber slices were next to salmon slices, also on no bread. Unfortunately, the salmon was touching just about everything on the plate, so those of us with restrictions couldn't eat most of the meal. Not only was this disappointing, it was also dangerous for people with life threatening food allergies. All in all, it was almost 2 hours for a simple afternoon tea. The lack of regard and respect for people with life threatening allergies is a disgrace. The atmosphere is nice but the service and food were terrible. Such a disappointing experience for a couple of our group who had never experienced a formal afternoon tea, and for those of us who regularly do afternoon tea.....we're just disgusted. read more

First visit to Price Tea House. We had afternoon tea for 4 package which came with finger sandwiches, scones (with jam, clotted cream), desserts and teas. Price wise not too bad. Quality was good, we all enjoyed it and was filling enough that we were not hungry for dinner afterwards. Good and wide selection of teas (one of us had a smoothie with 30% sugar) and drinks. We asked for a non nut allergic option for some of the package offerings and they were happy to adjust it. No worries there. Interior is conducive for tea, conversations and quality time with loved ones. All in all, good time was had by us without breaking the bank or having to go into the city for a fancy hotel experience. We made reservations, but didn't need to. That said, by the time we left around 5-6 place was full. In a mall with lots of parking, other Asian restaurants near by. This place is a chain with other stores in various areas. The other reviews were right about the service being super slow and our server wasn't exactly the nicest either. The pastries were ok, but nothing to rave about. I was a bit thrown off from the dirty plates and silverware, which I asked to replace. I liked the spaced out seating so you don't feel like you're sitting too close to others, but that's about it. Such a cute place for some afternoon tea! It's beautifully decorated inside and cozy to give you the perfect vibes while you enjoy your afternoon tea. I stopped by with a friend at opening on a Friday and it was quiet. We shared the afternoon tea for two. It was great that you could pick which sandwiches you want so we opted for the vegetarian samosa instead of the croissant with bacon. The samosa was delicious with a little spicy kick but unfortunately the finger sandwiches were sad. They were all underwhelming and open faced with little filling. Came here for the afternoon tea tower. Was greeted immediately when walking in but after sitting down service was subpar. We had to flag down the servers to order. We did tea service for 3- two adults one toddler. When asking if we could have the juice presented in a teapot for my niece there was some push back but they agreed. So pleasantly surprised! Had afternoon tea here recently to make up for an abysmal tea experience a week earlier and it was great! It's a smaller space but very cute and clean. We were the first ones there but it filled up really quickly - sandwiches tasty, desserts good (loved the macarons not a big matcha Mille feuille fan). But the tea! They have a lot of floral fruit herbal teas which I liked . In addition they also had cold brews as well as a wide array of bubble and milk teas . This is my second location I've visited of Prince Tea House. I brought my family here for my mom's birthday. In comparison to the K-Town location, I was bit disappointed with the experience. However, separately, as it's own, the food, service, and ambiance were all good. I just wished they had more consistency across their stores. As an example, I got a beautiful tea cup and tea pot for my Afternoon Tea for One in K-Town but got a plain glass for this Edison location. This location also did not offer refills on the tea, while K-Town did. The food was good and we visited after lunch so it was a nice snack with our tea. The scone could have been better. The one I got for K-Town was warm and flakey on the outside and warm and fluffy on the inside. read more

We planned a tea party to celebrate my 8yr old daughter's adoption. That's the special party she wanted with all her friends. We planned it over a month ahead of time. I planned the menu to suit 12 eight year old girls and their moms. Long story short, they didn't have our reservation for that day. That would have been okay if they would have hopped to it to correct the situation. They didn't. After being asked if I had a reservation, I exclaimed yes, we're having a tea party today, we've reserved that back room and the tables directly outside. (I had visited 3 days prior to confirm.) They replied oh okay... and we proceeded to set up. I welcomed my guest with absolutely nothing on the table in the main room and jackets, bags and food sitting in reserved tables outside. After 45 min of me trying to entertain the kids and several requests for help, I finally excused myself and spoke with staff. I was told, "they had other tables to take care of." I immediately called the manager I had set up the party with. She told me I had book for a different day. I sent her the screen shots of the booking, then she said.. oh Okay sorry about that we will get food out quickly don't worry. I said this is crazy we have an hour of the party left! The staff brought two bowls of French fries out and handed them to me. NO PLATES, NO NAPKINS, No water. The kids of course were starving and shoveling fries in their mouths. I went to a table outside the kitchen and grabbed a stack of plates... passed them out. One of the girls started to cry about not getting water saying she was just so thirsty. I asked again for water, nothing. I saw a pitcher again near the kitchen and a stack of paper cups, I grabbed them and started serving. This was unbelievable! The group of moms that had been standing for over an hour finally sat down at tables. Fifteen minutes went by and some food started to come out. NOT THE FOOD I ORDERED, but at least it was food. They brought a few towers out with finger foods and desserts, again NOT WHAT I HAD SET UP for 8 year old girls..( green tea cheesecake? Etc) myself and another mom literally NEVER sat down because we were SERVING all the guests. They brought some tea out and no cups. 15 min go by and we've asked for cups again, only to be told they don't have any clean cups. They passed us a stack of paper cups. My daughter who has dreamt of this adoption party for over two years began to cry. I can't tell you how disappointed I was for her. Then finally parents began to leave with their girls, each one apologizing for how it had went but told me not to worry at least we got to celebrate our adoption. (Some tea cups came out. ) When they handed me the bill, I said we need to talk. They sent someone they called "the boss" over. He proceeded to tell me the food was late but we still got it and tried to not only charge me full price for whatever they brought out but $150 for gratuity. The bill said $200 discount which was the deposit I had already paid. We called the manager, who said she did have me booked but the menu got confused, ‍ that was clearly not true. I had several conversations with "the boss" and back and forth for least 5 phone calls with the "booking manager" and 35 min later. They took off gratuity and gave me a 20% discount on FOOD I DIDN'T ORDER. I had a few girls with me that were guests I was giving rides to... one had to be home by a certain hour, so I was rushed and they were exhausted sitting there watching me talk. I paid it. Man do I regret it. It wasn't until the next day that I realized I actually paid for myself and the mom that helped me and did t even get a scone. I paid $80 for two people who COULDN'T eat because we were serving. All my guests were gobsmacked at how the tea house handled the situation and said they would have never paid that much. I was just EXHAUSTED and couldn't even think. This tea house could have done so much better. When staff realized they didn't have our menu or reservation, no one came to tell me. They ignored us and let us sit. I started the party handing out favors to take up time. They could have taken orders, said here is some water. I had no idea that they weren't preparing food or drinks for us until I called management 45 min into my two hour party. We got food 40 min before the party was OVER. Portions: 5 A slice of cake is definitely enough to share with one other. They're quite big! The teas and cakes are quite pricey, but you do get enough for it. If you've already had a meal and are planning to come here just for dessert, I think a tea each and sharing the dessert would be a better idea. I like getting their matcha milk tea that comes in a teapot (if you're dining in), and it's quite a lot for one person. Since it's quite milky, it will fill you up quick. Flavors: 5 The tea is really good here! They've got the brewing temperatures and quality tea leaves down! No matter what you get, it will definitely be good. If you're looking for a place with good looking food and chic decor that's instagrammable, this is your place! I first heard of the Prince tea house from my friend who had been to the Princeton location. My family and I had plans to go to the Princeton location, but when I did a Google search, I realized that they had an Edison location that opened earlier this month! It's much closer to us so we decided to go here today, Monday, and we pretty much had the whole place to ourselves. This teahouse has an Asian/European vibe. There's lots of beautiful and photographic seating areas. There's even an intimate dining table area where you can host a few friends and enjoy your tea. They have so many teas on the menu! My sister and I went for milk teas, and my parents got an oolong tea, and a caffeine free tropical tea. You can't split the afternoon tea for two, so I got spring rolls, and my family got the beef sukiyaki sandwiches. For dessert we had three slices of the purple yam mille crêpes cake. It was amazing! Fluffy, sweet, and had a beautiful purple color! You could probably split between two people which is what my parents did, but I'll eat the rest of mine later today! There aren't too many vegetarian options on the menu, but they might be able to remove the meat/seafood from their sandwiches. A HUGE disappointment from the moment we arrived, to the moment we were seated, and the moment our order was placed on the table. Let's begin with the service. There was no greeting upon arrival - instead we were seated without a hello, smile or someone will be right with you by a woman who happened to be the waitress for those at another table. After 5 minutes of waiting, I asked the guy standing behind me if someone was planning to come over to bring us a menu (I didn't realize that the QR code was placed on the table to scan and view the menu). The guy did apologize about not informing us, as well as not introducing himself - he happened to be our waiter. We moved on (it happens, although it shouldn't) and we went ahead and placed our order - I ordered the mango mielle crepe cake and mango yogurt smoothie, while my friend ordered the avocado salad with chicken katsu and brown sugar boba tea with almond milk. Her salad was a letdown; however, she did enjoy the boba tea. She will be leaving her own review, so here's mine. I was so excited to try this Mango Mille Crepe Cake. The idea of layers of delicate crepes with a light and refreshing mango cream filling sounded like the perfect dessert. Unfortunately, the reality fell far short of the dream. First, the mango flavor was more of a generic sweet cream with a faint hint of mango, even the sliced mangos on the side of the cake was an assault on my taste buds. I was looking for a burst of tropical sweetness, but it was like a shy whisper on the palate. If I closed my eyes, I wouldn't have known it was supposed to be mango. The crepes themselves were a bit of a letdown. It wasn't the light and airy crepes I was expecting. Instead, they were a bit dry and chewy, making the whole cake feel heavy. Even with the lack of mango flavor, the cake was overly sweet. It felt like they tried to compensate for the missing mango flavor with extra sugar, which ended up being cloying. If you're looking for a light and refreshing dessert with a true mango flavor, I'd recommend looking elsewhere. This cake was a forgettable miss. I was craving a refreshing and tropical pick-me-up, which is why I ordered the mango yogurt smoothie. And, let me tell you, it was a disappointment in a cup. Let's start with the first sip: the texture wasn't smooth and creamy like a good smoothie should be. Instead, it tasted like crushed ice that was blended with a pale imitation of anything mango-related. The flavor was faint and artificial, nothing like the burst of juicy sweetness I expected. Where's the mango and why does it taste like a slushie instead of a smoothie!?! It felt more like I was spooning through a sad ice slush than enjoying a refreshing beverage. Overall? Avoid this so called smoothie! I immediately informed our waiter about my disappointment with the drink, and told him that I was given a slushie and not a smoothie. He nonchalantly responded by telling me that there was not a difference between a slushie and smoothie. What!?!? It was clear that he was not going to attempt to resolve this in any way, so I asked to speak with the manager. He told me that the manager was not there today (again, what!?!) and there was no one in a supervisory position present for the day. I found that quite odd, and that was more than enough of a sign that we needed to pay our bill and leave. I quickly pulled out my phone and signed into Yelp to write a review. He must have caught what I was doing on my phone because he came over and offered to take the drink away and make it himself. I declined, and he then stated that he would remove it from the bill. Although it was a nice gesture, I feel that it was only done since he became aware of my upcoming review. Why weren't you attentive or providing the appropriate level of service earlier? As we got up to leave, he approached me and apologized on behalf of the restaurant. I left feeling cheated and letdown with this dining experience. I waited for over 1.5 years for this place to open. It finally opened. We had their afternoon tea for two for $65. The portions were tiny as compared to what we had at their Princeton location. The "finger sandwiches" were not sandwiches at all and were more like tiny hors d'oeuvres. The taste of each item was great. There just needs to be more of it. It's supposed to be half a sandwich per finger sandwich from other afternoon teas that I've had around the world. I also knock off a star because they don't give you the actual tea bag in your pot so that you can add water. The tiny pot was done so quickly. Some other Prince Tea House locations have unlimited tea refills with their afternoon teas. While the food tastes decent, I don't think we would order the afternoon tea again. Came here on a Thurs night to visit this new Prince Tea House location! Ambiance - dreamy pastel decorations are all around the space - plenty of seating! And there's also 1 semi closed off room for larger parties ( seems like it can seat around 15 people) Service - friendly waiters! - the tea took a bit longer to arrive to the table but we still enjoyed it. The cake was not too sweet and the perfect size for sharing between 2 people - English Toffee Milk Tea- we got 50% sweet and this sweetness level was pretty accurate. I've gone here periodically over the past year, even celebrating a friend's bday here, and I've enjoyed the experience. The ambiance is cute and fun and gives complete high tea vibes. I highly recommend going here for the bubble tea crepe cake and the durian crepe cake - super fresh, delicious, and worth the price. The service is mediocre and the teas are overpriced but you are paying more for the experience. read more

This is the second Prince Tea House location that I've been to, and it's just as eye catching as the one in Princeton. This location is a bit bigger and I haven't had trouble getting a table at busier times. The staff are warm in welcoming, as well as explaining how ordering works. Every dish I've had was delectable, especially the desserts! The presentation of each item was impressive, especially the mille feuille. I'm not sure how this dessert stayed upright, but it made me more excited to eat it. I also enjoyed the takoyaki, crabmeat salad, twister fries, and the salted crispy chicken. My favorite/go-to teas are the lavender milk tea and the earl grey milk tea. Honestly, you can't go wrong with any of the teas or desserts. A fun experience to say the least. It's a cool gimmick to have tea- especially with a lot of asian inspired tea and desserts. The tea was fine, and the food left you wanting a bit more. The best part of it is really just the aesthetic and being able to say "you had high tea". The food was mid-not great. We had the high tea for three, and while there was a lot of different things to try, it was not very quality. Little pieces of whole grain bread, and microwave-tasting snacks. Something to try and enjoy once but not something I'd come back to. Not sure if it's just this location, but our servers were also extremely busy. We did the tea for three tower and ordered a few types of tea. The mini lava cake and the tea were my two favorite things they were both delicious. The atmosphere is beautiful they have it decorated very nice in there it's a mood for sure, good for taking pictures. But there was only one server for everyone. I felt bad for the guy he was literally running around trying to serve everyone which led to us and other tables not getting the attention we fully needed but that wasn't his fault they were short staffed. My biggest issue is that there was no air in there. Or if they did have air it wasn't on. Overall though my family members enjoyed themselves which was honestly what was most important to me so 4 stars. The decor is really cute but the food and service weren't living up to what they could be, this place has so much more potential waiting to be unlocked. read more
