Although the aesthetics are aestheticking, I feel like this spot is overpriced and a little gimmicky. They didn't have many options available when I went, but the bubble tea itself is very good. The wait was a little long, considering the place was empty and there were no other customers on a Monday morning. I personally think there are better, more authentic places without all the pizazz and up-charge. Still a cute spot to chill and hang out for a little bit.

Really cute, bright, beautiful and spacious, boba shop with tons of seating. Love the simple Japanese ambiance, so much better than the Highland Park one. Drinks are yummy. Be sure to try the Brown Sugar brûlée and Mango slushie drinks but not much boba in the standard order.. so dropping a star for pricey drinks with not much boba. Also salted cheese Jasmine is rather bland. Lots of games to play

Bright inside and welcoming. Largest bubble tea shop I've seen in a while. Conveniently located right off Highway 18. Check out kiosks available for Apple Pay. Quick service and ambiance is so nice and cozy. Will be back.

I first discovered this bubble tea shop in Metuchen and had a delightful experience. Recently, my friend informed me of another shop with the same name. He highly recommended this place but confessed he wasn't sure if it was the same place. We decided to try their classic original bubble milk tea to test the waters. When I inquired about the type of tea they use, the cashier said they use Ceylon Black Tea with non-dairy creamer and Lactaid Milk. I was thrilled to find it met my expectations. Next time, my husband and I will try some of their more innovative drinks, like the Big Bomb. They offer snacks at very reasonable prices, so I plan to come hungry and sample some of their bites. You can order your beverages and snacks via the kiosk or at the counter. The service is very friendly, and the place is quite clean. I'm already looking forward to my next visit.

I would the crowd is definitely younger and could be a little noisy weekends, which is prob expected. There are games to keep everyone entertained while hanging out. Various drink and small plate options. Most folks are to go. The atmosphere impression changed since my first visit. The place didn't feel as modern or minimalist. I think the place needs to declutter a bit.

It is adorable inside here. There are maybe 6-7 tables and it's light and airy. You can order in person or at a kiosk. They have a great selection and I really loved how customizable the boba tea was; you can put the amount of sugar you want, kind of milk, add toppings, and choose the amount of ice. I got the jasmine milk tea and my son got the classic black milk tea. We each got boba in them and the boba was soft and chewy. We also tried the original egg waffle which was hot, light, crispy, and chewy all at once! We did not get any toppings, but they were very tempting. Will be back.

Absolutely delicious bubble tea in Metuchen Nj, great location with lots to do nearby. You can order via kiosk, very clean, nice sit down area but the windows, kid friendly. Really enjoyed the taro and black tea bubble tea. Crafted to perfection.

Super cute interior. It is modern with 15 people's worth of seating. Inside is gorgeous with a chill, wooden, simple vibe. There is soooo many variety of bubble tea ranging from fruity ones to classic tea ones. I suggest you have an idea of what you want beforehand or else you can be scrolling for a long time! You order on a digital kiosk, and then pick up your drink once you get a text message. Simple and fast and the boba was good!

As a lover of bubble tea, I am so glad I decided try something different today! At Akihi, I tried the ice cream milk tea with 50% sugar level, and it was a nice and creamy treat with excellent boba. I also had a taste of the brown sugar brulee, which was still nice and sweet at the lowest sugar level! The brown sugar flavor was so rich, and it was pretty cool watching them torch the top of the drink! Akihi also offers some savory items, and I tried the Taiwanese sausage and takoyaki. The Taiwanese sausage was decent and a bit spicy (I went with mild spice), though it didn't stand out to me much and I expected a little more based on the picture. The takoyaki was solid, though I feel like there was an excess of bonito flakes. The octopus inside was actually the perfect texture, though it is a very rich treat. In terms of ordering, you order at a screen towards the front of the shop, which I found very convenient. Everything came out pretty quickly, and the staff were very nice when I picked up my order. The interior of this place had such a relaxing vibe, and it was nicely lit with very cool stylistic choices. I even admired how the drinks looked aesthetically pleasing, and the lid on mine had a cool geometric shape. Plus, Akihi has a cool VIP program that involves collecting badges each day of the week at specific times to earn a discount card. I love how this store rewards loyalty, and I definitely see myself coming again for the delicious drinks!

I found a new bubble tea place in New Brunswick on rt 18. They have.a good list of different kind of drinks. We had taro related drink it was nice tasting and smooth drink. I would retiurn again.

I'm so glad this placed open in East Brunswick. With tons of bubble tea shops in the Edison area, this is a welcome addition to this side of town. I hope East Brunswick starts building up the trendy places that's been lacking for so long. The interior has a calming , zen-like vibe. There are several kiosks to self-order. There are your standard boba drinks but there are also a few variations. You can customize sugar and ice levels. The size levels are all large. I like that they tell you the type of dairy used in each drink on the kiosk, whether it's non dairy creamer, lactose milk or whole milk. You can also substitute (for a fee) with alternative mills such as oatmilk and almond milk. We got the rose boba milk tea and mango slush. Both were good.

Akihi has arrived in East Brunswick! Now a decent bubble tea can be had without heading into Edison. Minimalistic decor with simple chairs and short shareable tables as well as a couple of larger tables for working. Friendly and helpful staff. Ordered was a Classic Bubble Milk Tea at 30% sugar, no ice. Made with Ceylon black tea, non-dairy creamer and Lactaid milk. The beverage was tea forward with soft squishy tapioca boba's. It was good! With a menu filled various types of milk teas, fruit teas, slush, ice cream and snacks...a return visit will happen.

So glad a bubble tea place has opened in East Brunswick! Conveniently located in a plaza off Route 18 with a parking lot with other stores like Five Below, Ulta, and Home Goods, Akihi is a great place to stop by for a drink. Walking in, we were instantly impressed by the decor and ambiance - a very modern and minimalistic feel. Bright and airy! They have a corner filled with games that you can take to your table and play. If you don't like to interact with people, this is the place for you. No greeting upon arrival - you just order at one of the kiosks and they text you when your order is ready and you can pick it up at the counter. Easy and fast! It's difficult for us to buy drinks at bubble tea shops that are both caffeine and dairy free, but Akihi delivers with several options. We opted for the Mango Slushie with Strawberry Popping Boba and it was delicious! There is only one size and it is pretty large. The cups are very high quality. It was expensive at almost $8 for one drink but felt worth it because of the ambiance. We stayed and played a card game before we left. Overall, would highly recommend!

Love coming here and seeing people from toddler age to folks with their grandparents. Bubble tea is for all! My husband loves to try the new fruity varieties that get added to the menu. Every few weeks there is a new, unique fruit combination that blows him away. I stick to my tried and true Thai iced tea with boba, and NOWHERE else has been able to compete. The details are what makes this place stand out. If you buy multiple drinks, they place your order in an adorable, reusable purple bag. Also, there is a rewards program. So if you're an avid boba drinker, make sure you sign up. Every few orders you can score a free bite to eat or bubble tea. Since it's a hit spot, this place can get packed at peak times (post work hours, and especially on weekends). So happy to have such a lovely shop in my town. Thanks, Akihi!

The inside was very different from your usual bubble tea spot, and it was very welcoming and cozy. I could definitely see myself just chilling and reading a book while enjoying my food and drink. I placed my order through the kiosk while looking over the menu, which had a lot of good options. I couldn't make up my mind and decided to go with the bubble tea and Oreo waffle crepe. Both items were good, and I enjoyed the waffle, which had ice cream as the filling and was stuffed with fillings, but it was a little difficult to eat since the wrapper is not very practical, and I had to use my hands, so it got a bit messy. Did I regret it? No way, I loved it; hopefully, they would just have a better container for it, lol. Definitely will get a sugar rush, so be careful hahaha. I would definitely go back to try the other flavors

I had the Beef Bulgogi Kaito Cups with bbq sauce which served over white rice. The beef and onions were thinly sliced and flavorful while the rice was sticky and clumped well enough to not give me a hard time with my chopsticks. I would for sure order Bulgogi Kaito Cups again. I also ordered a side of the Japchae which is tasty glass noodles, although I wish there was a way to request no carrots or peanuts through the app. My beverage consisted of the Strawberry Yakult with boba which is caffeine-free. When ordering, I was asked how much percentage of sugar I wanted in the drink. I chose 100% and it still tasted like it could use more. It took almost an hour to be delivered to me due to the distance, so I would have to order it again when I am able to try it on the spot. Overall, I enjoyed my purchases and would return.

I was a fan of…read moreYifang so I was originally disappointed when I saw that they were no longer there but decided to give this place a try. When trying a new boba place I always try both a fruit tea and a milk tea so I can get an idea whether I would like it or not. The first couple times I went there I tried the Shingen Jelly Passion Fruit Tea and the Red Bean Milk Tea Latte and they just weren't my preference so I was going to just write this place off. I mentioned to a friend who lived locally that I tried it and she said that she loved their Strawberry Matcha and that I should give it another try. Glad I did! Their Strawberry Matcha Latte is the best I ever had. The strawberry puree they use is just delicious and unique. I've actually tried purchasing it on its own to add to my own matcha at home but sadly they don't sell it separately. It's so good that I normally buy one to enjoy the same day and another for the next day but unfortunately they will not make it no ice (I've asked and explain the situation) so the second day one is not as good due to the ice melting. This is probably my most frequented boba shop lately because I'm addicted to this drink. I've come here more than a dozen times in the last 3 months. The people working there are quite nice, they always with no fail mention to shake the drink before drinking. It is clean and they haven't made too many changes from when YiFang was there. I normally order on the FanTuan app for pick up so it's quicker. Parking lot is usually packed but because I order in advance I just park in the 15 minute parking out front and run in. Not sure if I will ever try another drink from there but maybe one day!

Cleanliness: The store is clean with no garbage or debris left on tables, chairs, floors, or near the garbage can area. Pricing: The drinks and snacks here are decent prices from $5.00 and up. Ube Coconut Vietnamese Coffee: This drink was a little different and it just did not taste great. My friend stated that he was glad he added sugar, but he felt like this drink could have been better as it was not to his liking. Mango Matcha: I have mixed feelings about this drink as it tasted a little weird. One sip it tastes a little sweet and another sip it tastes a little bitter. I think I should have stuck with some mango drink instead. Chocolate Egg Pancake: Last time we got this item it did not have any chocolate filling inside of it. It was just a regular egg pancake but chocolate looking. They perfected this with the chocolate filling inside and it definitely tastes better now. Overall: I do not think I would come out of my way just to come here to get bubble tea. If I am in this area again next time, then I may give it another try with a different drink.
