Small little place we had stumbled upon. I'm sure glad we did though; they had so many flavors. I got the mango sago which was delicious. The boba was cooked to perfection and the price was decent. If you are in the area, definitely check it out.

Another boba shop entered the chat! And, Utepia is holding its own. Located in the heart of New Brunswick, Utepia is home to strong tea flavors, an extensive menu, and -- dare we say-- the BEST tapioca?! We watched the employees constantly stir and look after the next batch of boba. Reasonably priced ($5.50 even after adding an additional topping!), accessible, cute cups, a generous range of caffeine-free items ... we stan! Ordered: Original Bubble Tea with Grass Jelly

Sip, sip, ahhhhhhh. This place has very creamy milk teas. My husband and I both ordered the Taiwanese Bubble Milk Tea. My order came with grass jelly (for an additional $0.50) and my husband had substituted his milk to oat milk, at no extra cost. Both came with boba. They offer not only cold boba but they also craft hot beverages, as well. The quarter is fairly small. There are two long bars with chairs for you to sit yourself and enjoy your beverage. There is street parking and you can use a downloadable app to extend your time should you wish to stay a little longer as you enjoy your sips. Easy access for Rutger students to get to and the cost of the beverages is extremely reasonable for college students. The staff wears masks. I am only able to review their bobas but they do serve various Taiwanese desserts. Their bobas have that perfect bounce and they are generous with both their grass jelly and the bobas. Drinks: 4 /5 Service: 4/5 Cleanliness: 4/5 Ambiance: 4/5 Value: 5/5 Location: 5/5 Note: they do honor Apple Pay.

This is a cute little shop that served delicious bubble tea! I had the lychee bubble tea which was flavorful and not too sweet. They have kiosks to order on that made the process quick and the drinks were ready soon after. There's only a few seats inside where we enjoyed our drinks. I'll definitely stop by again when I'm in the area!

Utepia Bubble Tea is an adorable shop right off of George Street. Quiet and cute, it is the perfect post show treat. We placed our order on the automated touch screen. So many choices I scrolled through twice. My little one wanted the mango smoothie with strawberry popping boba. At three years old, she drank half of it. It only comes in the large size. I ordered the crème brûlée bubble tea which I think is a featured monthly drink. Both drinks were prefect and I recommend the lower sugar option. You are really able to taste the drink without all the sweetener. The shop is decorated for Christmas and very entertaining for a sit down. The little benches are a favorite spot. The staff was quick and efficient in preparing our drinks. We will continue to stop in when we are in town.

Cute spot located in New Brunswick! Love their four seasons fruit tea and mango passion oolong tea - these are special drinks that come in huge cups with reusable lids that I love. The mango passion oolong tea has shredded mango in it that was fresh and tasty - refreshing on a hot summer day. Prices are a bit high but for some of the specialty drinks, the drink sizes are quite large. They have some fun options that aren't available in some of the other boba spots around and I also really like their cheese foam drinks.

Come to this cute little boba shop that has teas bursting with flavor! Their drinks are also perfect after a solid ramen meal at Ramen Nagomi. Ambiance - small space, with some seating at a counter - plenty of natural light coming in from windows Order - Thai Milk Tea with boba, 30% sugar: medium strong Thai tea flavor, perfectly QQ boba - Mango Passion Oolong Tea with pudding, 0%sugar: fresh mango and other fruits are muddled right in your drink cup! I like that each sip has a bit of refreshing tea, some pudding and some fruit! Even thought we got 0% sugar, there was still plenty of sweetness from the fruit and possibly sugar syrup. This was one of the best fruit teas I've tried in the area! I'll definitely be coming back to grab another drink!

    Matcha Jasmine Tea Slush

I usually get bubble tea at bubble tea places but the weather was so warm on the day that I went that I was tempted to try the matcha jasmine tea slush. The matcha flavor really came through but to be honest I couldn't really taste the jasmine. It was delicious regardless. The staff were quick to prepare the treat, and there were a few seats inside the shop to be able to enjoy the drinks. I would definitely come here again to try something else!

The family and I wanted bubble tea. So we took a quick ride to the next town over and found this place. Utepia is small and away from the busy area of Rutgers. However I absolutely love the decor. It's bright, organized, and easy to order. Because it's small, this place is more of a "grab and go". Their prices are reasonable for the area. Many different flavors and drink options to choose from. The staff were friendly and made suggestions. Will definitely visit again with the family.

One of the better unique and well executed bubble tea places. Interior is super cute; they have touch screen ordering kiosks; and most importantly, good bubble tea choices. We got the strawberry passion jasmine tea and the chilled mango pomelo drink. Strawberry passion jasmine tea hit the refreshing fruity spot - not too tart, not too sweet, with a good amount of pulp. My only issue with this drink is that the menu says it has milk foam, and it didnt. They said they stopped doing it because its fruity/tart and doesnt go well with milk foam. Please update your menu, its deceiving. Chilled mango pomelo was SO good. Creamy mango and hints of pomelo. There are giant chunks of mango and white bubbles (which taste fruitier and less chewy than black bubbles). The name makes it sound as though it's a slushy drink, but its not - just creamy, cold and delicious. Highly recommend this place.

Hands down the best bubble tea in New Brunswick! From the tea to the boba to the balance of the flavors, simply an all around 10/10. I'm looking forward to exploring more of their menu options. The shop is small, but cozy and clean. Like most bubble tea places these days the ordering experience is mediated through a kiosk, which detracts from the personal interaction with the staff. With that said, the woman who gave us our drinks was kind. Their hours are not ideal for a college town (12:00-8 pm and closed on Wednesday), but you'll find a way to get your utepia fix.

I first had one of their milk teas when I ordered takeout from Ramen Nagomi which is across the street. Utepia supplied some of their drinks during the pandemic. I believe it's for to-go only and I'm not sure if they are still doing it. After a meal today at Nagomi, we walked on over and this was my first time visiting the shop. It is a cute little bright space with mostly white walls with some colorful plushies. Seating is tight by the two large bay windows. Service was super friendly and helpful. Before I could even finish taking a few photos for Yelp, our drinks were ready. Here is what we ordered: - Bubble Milk Tea (no sugar with jelly) - Oolong Milk Tea (30% sugar with red bean) Their drinks here stand up against many of the other boba shops and chains. They have it down to a science with their Taiwanese tea leaves and milk. I enjoyed every sip...so darn yummy. Like last time, I ordered the Bubble Tea with jelly. Their jelly is unlike the rest. It's a texture of jelly and boba and not too sweet. I want to try their pudding (topping) next time. Street parking only.

Nice bubble tea in downtown east Brunswick, NJ. They have parking garage nearby and some street parking next to them. There are other restaurants around like Ramen Nagomi. I would be back, if I visit East Brunswick area in the future.

Meet Fresh is a Taiwanese dessert shop specializing in traditional Chinese-style sweet dessert…read moresoups--comforting bowls built around ingredients such as red beans, sago, grass jelly, purple rice, tofu pudding, and almond. These desserts are common across Taiwan and much of East Asia, where sweet soups serve the role that cakes or pastries might in the West: a warm or cooling treat at the end of a meal or as an afternoon snack. The brand itself originated in Taichung, Taiwan, where it began as a small family shop inspired by traditional dessert recipes passed down through generations. Today Meet Fresh has expanded internationally, but the menu remains rooted in those classic Taiwanese dessert traditions. The menu includes hot and cold dessert soups, along with bubble teas, specialty drinks, ice creams, shaved ice desserts, and egg waffles--served plain or with a variety of fillings. I stopped in for a bowl of their Combo A hot red bean soup, topped with taro balls, fragrant red beans, crunchy peanuts, and soft, chewy boba. I also ordered a hot almond milk. For those unfamiliar with it, red bean soup is one of the classic desserts of Chinese and Taiwanese cuisine. Made from adzuki beans simmered until soft, it has a naturally earthy sweetness that is comforting without being overly sugary. It's often served hot in cooler weather and chilled in summer. The bowl here was generous and piping hot, exactly what you want from a dessert soup. The sweetness was well balanced--sweet, but not cloying--and the toppings added layers of texture that kept each spoonful interesting. The taro balls are another Taiwanese specialty: chewy dumplings made from taro and sweet potato starch with a texture somewhere between mochi and gnocchi. These were nicely elastic and pleasantly chewy. The peanuts added crunch, while the boba pearls brought their familiar soft chew, making the bowl a fun mix of textures. The hot almond milk was fragrant and soothing. In Chinese dessert culture this type of almond drink is often made from apricot kernels (sometimes called "Chinese almonds"), which gives it a slightly different aroma than Western almond milk. This one was very tasty, though it leaned a bit sweeter than I personally prefer. Service was pleasant and efficient, and the shop has ample seating, making it easy to sit and enjoy your dessert rather than rushing out the door. For anyone curious about Taiwanese desserts--or simply looking for something beyond cakes and pastries--Meet Fresh offers a comforting introduction to a whole world of sweet soups, chewy toppings, and traditional dessert flavors. I would happily return to explore more of the menu.

Meet Fresh is an international chain serving up Taiwanese desserts- shaved iced and grass jelly…read moredesserts along with milk tea and waffle creations. I'd recommend creating a custom dessert for what I felt like is better value, and coming at an off-hour due to the difficulty of finding parking in the plaza. --- Meet Fresh has a wide variety of desserts available: -Pudding & Q Mochi Milk Shaved Ice (L)- I shared it between 4 people, and while it was a good size and I enjoyed the toppings, personally it felt too expensive for the amount of ice! I would be on the fence reordering this. -Signature Grass Jelly (hot)- This came with a side of peanuts. For the relatively expensive signature grass jelly dish, I was a bit disappointed at the ratio of grass jelly to toppings. I would pass next time. -Custom icy grass jelly with 5 toppings [sesame rice balls, taro ball, ice cream, sago, and Q mochi (taro mochi)]- This came with a side of creamer. I really enjoyed both the flavor and toppings in the custom icy grass jelly!! The ratio of toppings was better for sure, but it is a more expensive option. I'd probably still go for this option next time. The restaurant is more or less self-service. It is self-seating. You first order at the kiosk or counter, and then retrieve your order once your number is called. Later, you take your tray and clean up yourself. The interior can seat fairly large groups, maybe 20-40 people total depending on how you sit. One of the biggest obstacles to enjoying Meet Fresh is finding parking in the hectic and overcrowded parking lot. I'd find it hard to justify fighting to find parking for Meet Fresh until I had something else to also do in the plaza. Overall, our group had pretty mixed ratings, but I thoroughly enjoyed it. I'd recommend coming when you're willing to splurge on a custom dessert creation.
