Ice cream flavors
Christopher W.

I can't rave more about this place. This is one of our family's favorite ice cream spots in the area. The woman working there is incredibly accommodating and friendly. The ice cream quality is amazing and it's made special that their products don't upset any of our stomachs (some members are sensitive to dairy.) They have a 20 different flavors of ice cream with a good selection of Asian flavors such as black sesame, ube and durian. The black sesame is one of the best I've ever eaten there. It's creamy, flavorful, and, most importantly, not too sweet. They don't only have ice cream. They also make custom cakes with different flavors and varieties. The durian cake is a definitely a favorite for some of us. It's a delicious cake and you can really taste the durian. The sizes are a bit small but it's honestly the right amount so I don't over eat. The inside is a little small, but it's very clean and services quick so you can be in and out depending on what you order. The only issue with the area is that the parking lot is a little small and can be a little tricky to find a spot. Definitely check this place out! We'll definitely be back!

My sister got my niece's birthday cake from here (taro and black sesame) and I was hooked! I also wanted to go here, but didn't have the time or ended up getting boba instead. But I finally stopped in and walked out with a pint of black sesame ice cream ($11). The lady was nice and friendly and really knows her ice cream. They have other flavors like ube, red bean, vanilla, but I knew I had to get the black sesame. It's not too sweet (iykyk) and I eat a little bit when I'm craving ice cream. They prefer Zelle or cash when paying so try to have that with you to be safe. I'll stop by again!

So many unique Asian flavors here! Recommend you carry cash, as you will save 3% from debit or credit card transactions. They also have Zelle if you don't carry cash on hand. Some unique flavors I saw include red bean, black sesame, taro, mung bean, and durian. There was only one lady serving the ice cream that day, but she was fast to get the line moving along! I tried the mung bean and it reminded me of my time in Beijing. Pretty authentic flavors and reasonably priced. ty for reading :^)

Edison, NJ - if you're in Edison or in Sunset Park, Brooklyn, definitely drop by Sweet Dynasty for your ice cream fix! Not only is the owner Michelle super cool (her mum opened the original BK location), so is the ice cream - all homemade and with unconventional flavors such as taro, black sesame, lychee, red bean, various teas, and even durian! Along with the most popular classic favors. I seek out novel and adventurous flavors when it comes to ice cream, so am delighted to come across this shop! I forgot to take a photo of the ice cream before me and my kiddo devoured it, so here are just the flavors to drool over.

Cute ice cream parlor in kam man plaza with asian inspired flavors! I got the ube scoop while my friend got the almond cookie flavor. Ube was a tad sweet for me but otherwise good. Also sampled the mung bean flavor which i found unique and the perfect amount of sweetness. The star of this shop is the lady who owns it though, she is super chatty and friendly and creates a very personable atmosphere. There's also a bunch of restaurants in the plaza so this is a perfect afternoon dinner stop!

Tucked inside the mini mall are these succulent artisanal homemade ice cream shop with flavors I've never seen before. From Yaro to Ube, mango, seasonal almonds coffee and the best strawberry I've ever had. Service was great (they do limit the amount of flavors to try) and there's a few bench's. Loved it and I can't wait to return

Shop owner was friendly and informative. Makes their own ice cream - Asian & non-Asian flavors. Limit to 2 samples so choose wisely. I sampled black sesame and lychee and both were full of flavor. The sweetest flavors are mango, lychee and strawberry. The shop is very casual and clean. Look forward to returning soon!

"my mom buys pints of these to take home" "The flavors here are so good" I love ice cream but I also love new flavors. Had a chance to stop in with some friends and tried a double scoop of Milk tea and black sesame. Wow, so good. Creamy and flavorful but not overpowering. Both complemented each other nicely so I def recommend trying both together. Had a bite of my friends chocolate cookies and cream too.. very good and I usually prefer vanilla over chocolate. Great spot, friendly staff!

Still consistent with their flavors and their scoops. Nothing stingy at this place and I hope it doesn't change. Yesterday we were so surprised that it was filled with about 20 people in line INSIDE But the line was moving and didn't deter us to get our ice cream fix. We got all our flavors again plus the mango and holy smokes- great rich flavor, tastes like tropical creamy mango and maybe mixed with some subtle tartness from a green mango. Still great service and still a generous scoop!

Sweet Dynasty is a new-ish and cozy ice cream spot in Edison, NJ. No crazy trends or gimmicks that will be unpopular in a year or two here, just normal, delicious ice cream! I can't help but compare the flavors to that of Chinatown Ice Cream Factory in New York. They have plenty of popular Asian-inspired flavors like matcha, milk tea, thai tea, lychee, red bean, taro and more! The owners are very friendly and are locals to Central Jersey area so it always feels good to support a local small business. My personal favorite was the lychee! You don't get many spots that serve lychee ice cream so this was a real nice surprise. Would love to see a little more on the menu in the future (like milk shakes and different flavors in soft serve) and hopefully they can open up multiple choices of ice cream in one cup.

The shop is small and cozy. The owner is the sweetest! Ice cream is made in house and you can taste it. The flavors are delicious and the ice cream is so fresh & creamy. My new favorite spot!

So glad this ice cream spot opened up! I was so excited to try their black sesame and milk tea ice cream! Ambiance - small place - limited seating ( benches lined the interior) - plenty of natural light Service - friendly staff! - got to try multiple flavors before placing my final order - generous scoops of ice cream Food - 2 scoops on a cup ( black sesame and milk tea) - both I creams had a pleasant creamy texture. Black sesame came in strong with sesame flavor and was slightly sweet perfect for my taste. Milk tea had a good depth in tea flavor and tasted just like a classic milk tea! I'll definitely be back for more scoops or buy a few pints to take home!

We were driving down Route 1 looking for dessert and spotted this ice cream shop we haven't checked out yet. I searched it up here, of course, and viewed the business. To my surprise it was what I've been on a hunt for (locally) - Asian inspired ice cream! We walked in and were greeted right away with a smile! I wanted to taste some of the flavors but was told that they ran out of their tasting spoons. We continued to chat and asked when they opened. They've been in the location for about a year but been in business for 13 years originally located in Brooklyn. I continued to order the black sesame and Thai tea in a cup. My husband ordered the coffee in a waffle cone. The flavors are very prominent and delicious. The texture is nice and creamy with a nice bite to it , which is how I like my ice cream. Definitely excited to have found this place right off rt 1 in Edison, in the same lot at Kam Man Asian Food market. They're located in the corner a few stores down from Gong Cha. Can't wait to try out the other flavors!

Two locations!

Love coming here and seeing people from toddler age to folks with their grandparents. Bubble tea is for all! My husband loves to try the new fruity varieties that get added to the menu. Every few weeks there is a new, unique fruit combination that blows him away. I stick to my tried and true Thai iced tea with boba, and NOWHERE else has been able to compete. The details are what makes this place stand out. If you buy multiple drinks, they place your order in an adorable, reusable purple bag. Also, there is a rewards program. So if you're an avid boba drinker, make sure you sign up. Every few orders you can score a free bite to eat or bubble tea. Since it's a hit spot, this place can get packed at peak times (post work hours, and especially on weekends). So happy to have such a lovely shop in my town. Thanks, Akihi!

The inside was very different from your usual bubble tea spot, and it was very welcoming and cozy. I could definitely see myself just chilling and reading a book while enjoying my food and drink. I placed my order through the kiosk while looking over the menu, which had a lot of good options. I couldn't make up my mind and decided to go with the bubble tea and Oreo waffle crepe. Both items were good, and I enjoyed the waffle, which had ice cream as the filling and was stuffed with fillings, but it was a little difficult to eat since the wrapper is not very practical, and I had to use my hands, so it got a bit messy. Did I regret it? No way, I loved it; hopefully, they would just have a better container for it, lol. Definitely will get a sugar rush, so be careful hahaha. I would definitely go back to try the other flavors

Meet Fresh

Meet Fresh is a Taiwanese dessert shop specializing in traditional Chinese-style sweet dessert…read moresoups--comforting bowls built around ingredients such as red beans, sago, grass jelly, purple rice, tofu pudding, and almond. These desserts are common across Taiwan and much of East Asia, where sweet soups serve the role that cakes or pastries might in the West: a warm or cooling treat at the end of a meal or as an afternoon snack. The brand itself originated in Taichung, Taiwan, where it began as a small family shop inspired by traditional dessert recipes passed down through generations. Today Meet Fresh has expanded internationally, but the menu remains rooted in those classic Taiwanese dessert traditions. The menu includes hot and cold dessert soups, along with bubble teas, specialty drinks, ice creams, shaved ice desserts, and egg waffles--served plain or with a variety of fillings. I stopped in for a bowl of their Combo A hot red bean soup, topped with taro balls, fragrant red beans, crunchy peanuts, and soft, chewy boba. I also ordered a hot almond milk. For those unfamiliar with it, red bean soup is one of the classic desserts of Chinese and Taiwanese cuisine. Made from adzuki beans simmered until soft, it has a naturally earthy sweetness that is comforting without being overly sugary. It's often served hot in cooler weather and chilled in summer. The bowl here was generous and piping hot, exactly what you want from a dessert soup. The sweetness was well balanced--sweet, but not cloying--and the toppings added layers of texture that kept each spoonful interesting. The taro balls are another Taiwanese specialty: chewy dumplings made from taro and sweet potato starch with a texture somewhere between mochi and gnocchi. These were nicely elastic and pleasantly chewy. The peanuts added crunch, while the boba pearls brought their familiar soft chew, making the bowl a fun mix of textures. The hot almond milk was fragrant and soothing. In Chinese dessert culture this type of almond drink is often made from apricot kernels (sometimes called "Chinese almonds"), which gives it a slightly different aroma than Western almond milk. This one was very tasty, though it leaned a bit sweeter than I personally prefer. Service was pleasant and efficient, and the shop has ample seating, making it easy to sit and enjoy your dessert rather than rushing out the door. For anyone curious about Taiwanese desserts--or simply looking for something beyond cakes and pastries--Meet Fresh offers a comforting introduction to a whole world of sweet soups, chewy toppings, and traditional dessert flavors. I would happily return to explore more of the menu.

Meet Fresh is an international chain serving up Taiwanese desserts- shaved iced and grass jelly…read moredesserts along with milk tea and waffle creations. I'd recommend creating a custom dessert for what I felt like is better value, and coming at an off-hour due to the difficulty of finding parking in the plaza. --- Meet Fresh has a wide variety of desserts available: -Pudding & Q Mochi Milk Shaved Ice (L)- I shared it between 4 people, and while it was a good size and I enjoyed the toppings, personally it felt too expensive for the amount of ice! I would be on the fence reordering this. -Signature Grass Jelly (hot)- This came with a side of peanuts. For the relatively expensive signature grass jelly dish, I was a bit disappointed at the ratio of grass jelly to toppings. I would pass next time. -Custom icy grass jelly with 5 toppings [sesame rice balls, taro ball, ice cream, sago, and Q mochi (taro mochi)]- This came with a side of creamer. I really enjoyed both the flavor and toppings in the custom icy grass jelly!! The ratio of toppings was better for sure, but it is a more expensive option. I'd probably still go for this option next time. The restaurant is more or less self-service. It is self-seating. You first order at the kiosk or counter, and then retrieve your order once your number is called. Later, you take your tray and clean up yourself. The interior can seat fairly large groups, maybe 20-40 people total depending on how you sit. One of the biggest obstacles to enjoying Meet Fresh is finding parking in the hectic and overcrowded parking lot. I'd find it hard to justify fighting to find parking for Meet Fresh until I had something else to also do in the plaza. Overall, our group had pretty mixed ratings, but I thoroughly enjoyed it. I'd recommend coming when you're willing to splurge on a custom dessert creation.
