Today was a good reminder of why I don't go to dealerships for service, and instead support local service shops. I brought my car in on a Saturday for a factory recall. Apparently, in an accident the airbags can explode and send shards of metal into your face if you drive a 2011 Ford Fusion. Fun. So anyways, I went online and made my appointment for service. That was honestly the best part of the entire experience at this place. The day of the service I bring my car in to drop off. There's only one person in front of me, but they're moving pretty slow at the intake. Some other lady walks up and offers to help the next person in line. I go over to the counter, tell her I'm there for an appointment, and give her the appointment information. She sighs audibly and tells me that the guy working the other line is my service advisor, but she can help me with the check-in process. I was getting ready to ask how long the wait would be when she asked me if I needed the car the same day. Are you serious? I made an appointment for a recall service. You have limited hours on Saturday, you're closed on Sunday, and the car cannot be picked up unless the service department is open. You really want to know if I need the car the same day? I didn't say any of this of course, but I nodded yes. She sighs audibly again. I comment, "I guess that answers the question of whether or not it would be a long wait". Apparently she didn't take it as the joke it was meant to be, because she huffed and said "Well, they have to take out the whole dashboard". Sorry lady, but my degree program wasn't car related, so they did not teach me the nuances of replacing airbags in Fords. My mistake. Four hours later I get the call that my car is ready. Seems reasonable considering they had to take the whole dashboard out. I go to pick up, wait for the gentleman to get off the phone. And tell him I'm there for pick up and he directs me down the hall to the cashier. I head down the hall. No one standing at the window, but there is a lady sitting at the desk about 5 or 6 feet behind it. She finishes counting out some cash, glares at me, and asks how she can help. I tell her I'm there to pick up my vehicle. She huffs at me and asks for the last name, locates the invoice, and says "Let me see if they brought the car up". She then proceeds to hit the car alarm, and when it goes off from somewhere in the lot she passes me the key and says "Yep it's out there". I asked her if she could narrow it down a little bit since the lot is large, and I don't know where they would have put it. She says "I don't know, but it sounds like it came from that way", and points out towards the lot. Helpful, thanks. I find my car, and go. The only reason this place to getting two stars instead of one is because they were able to turn the car around reasonably quickly, and the online booking process was really convenient. read more

Can't say I'd recommend anyone take their car here for service. I scheduled an online appointment 3 days in advance, dropped off my vehicle 4 days ago. I was told by the service representative, Cole, that I'd receive a call with update. I never have. I've left four messages in the past two days and no one is returning my calls. They aren't answering the phones in the service department. They have my number, my email and my car, but I've received no response. When I call the service department, I get rings and no answer or a voicemail and no call back. After four days without any updates and no vehicle I must now pay for a taxi to go over, fetch my car and take it somewhere else for service. PATHETIC service. read more

Bought my 2019 Ford Escape in May from Robert and had a good experience. Robert was not pushy at all and was very patient with us, not pushy like at some dealerships. Would recommend you ask for Robert when You go to Sunstate Ford. The sales and Finance manager were also very good also. Buying was a very good experience.. TERRIBLE, ABSOLUTELY AWFUL these jokers took my wifes' car off her and advised they would look into the repair. ford flex. 4 days later they haven't even looked at it. called and they said that they have had cars there for months that they haven't even looked at they are that busy. my advice would be don't take the work on if you cant do it? just an idea! I had a repair that lasted several weeks. I had a issue with communication, however, Don was professional in the callback and handling of the issue. However, the General Manager of the dealership, Linda, didn't respond to voice mail. I requested her email and was told she was probably was to busy to respond and they wouldn't give out her email. Extremely upset with Janet Allan from the Title Department. I purchased a new car and asked to have my license plate transferred from my old car. Later I found out this could not be done, however Janet took it upon herself to issue me a new license plate without first obtaining my consent. She then lied and stated that we agreed that a new license plate would be issued, and she sent me a letter in the mail saying I owed her $325 for a new plate issue, that I NEVER asked for, even though I specifically made it known to her in our emails that I never requested a new plate and that I only wanted a temporary tag to be issued to me! I am so upset with how extremely unsatisfactory the customer service I have received from Janet from the title department was. I have never dealt with such an unprofessional individual before in my life. I will never use this ford dealership again because of her! She not only lied to me and is trying to hold me accountable for a $325 charge for something I never asked for, she completely ignored my email and never responded because she knew she was wrong for processing a new license plate order without first receiving my consent, like she should have! (Additionally, they charged me $308.35 for license, title & registration fees at the time of purchase, so I'm not entirely sure why they are now wanting me to pay an additional $325, considering I already paid $308.35 in license plate fees) So disappointed with the ford company as a whole after this experience. Specifically however, do not use this dealership! They do not place their customers first, and assume that they can just do whatever they want without first receiving their customer's consent. They now caused a huge, yet completely avoidable, $325 mistake in my car purchasing experience, that can not be fixed, all because they could not be patient and wait to confirm with me that I actually wanted a new license plate to be issued. After an awful lie to inflate price at Tropical Ford, figured I'd try Sun State Ford who have a Mach-E in stock. A sales rep called me and said the price of the vehicle will be $3k ABOVE MSRP. When I asked why he said it was shipped from New Jersey and they paid shipping. As someone who has shipped a car from California, I guarantee you it wasn't even close to $3k, and oddly enough $3k was the exact mark-up Tropical Ford had, and Tropical Ford ALSO said it was due to shipping. At least at Tropical they relented and said it was due to demand for the vehicle. It's a shame dealerships already making profit are looking to take advantage of people excited about the Mach-E. Do not buy at Sun State Ford unless you are ok with being lied to. read more

I'm giving two stars because the issue I brought my Ford Escape in for was resolved. I brought my car in on Monday 8/9. He said he expected the repair to be done the following day, Tuesday 8/10. After not hearing from them at all Tuesday, I gave them a call Wednesday morning leaving my name and phone number and to please give me an update. Finally, Thursday I call AGAIN and finally speak to someone. With no apology he says "oh yeah it's done. I guess no one told me." So they were just sitting on my fixed car. Had I not called, when would I have been alerted that it was fixed? Totally unacceptable in my opinion. I'll definitely find a different dealership in the future. read more

I had my vehicles oil changed there some time ago and had a less then great experience. Now, my vehicle had an oil leak and I figured since they changed the oil last then it's their responsibility why it's leaking oil. I made an appointment a week in advance. I show up early and drop it off. I wait all day and get no update about it. I finally call and am told that my vehicle has not been looked at and it would be tomorrow before I could get an answer. That they were busy. Being busy isn't an acceptable excuse for not even looking at a customers vehicle who had an existing appointment. This is probably one of the worst dealerships I've been to. I went there to test drive the 2015 Mustang and to get more information on them. I was taken out to the Mustangs (which they only had about 6 on their lot) and looked inside some of them. I asked a lot of questions, but not one of them could be answered. He kept saying to look at the window sticker or that he would have to ask and get back to me. I knew more than the sales guy did and I ended up schooling him on the products he needed to know about for his job! Luckily they had one automatic out of the 6 cars they had on the lot, so I was able to test drive. That part went well. He took me on their normal route and I was able to push the pedal to the medal, so to speak. I wanted to test out some of the features, so we went off the normal route onto a road with no cars and a long straightaway, so that was nice to be able to do that. Once we got back, I ended up leaving with no new information. And not that I'm complaining, because this could be the most annoying part of visiting a dealership, but I never received any follow-up phone calls about purchasing the Mustang and never received any of the answers to the questions I had. Not very professional. I also called a couple weeks later when I wanted to compare two models of the Mustangs and asked someone there if they had those two particular models so I could come in to see them both and they had no idea what I was talking about and kept telling me to just look online. Needless to say, I ended up buying the Mustang from a different dealership that was much more knowledgeable and professional. read more

My new 2020 exploder ceased to operate on the 3rd day and I requested to rescind the purchase within my rights in FL. The GM never returned a call or message and when I went to the dealership they hid in a "meeting" every time I walked in and never came out. Ford has no solution to the problem and now 2 months later I still have nothing but a payment. No issues with the service dept whatsoever. I did not go to Greenfield Ford because the reviews were horrible. All I needed was an oil and filter change, but I took no chances and took the longer drive here. I am glad I did. Jake at reception was friendly and unassuming. No nonsense, just did what was needed. I would have rated them higher had there been a more complex job. Also, it did not help that the lady cashier was scrolling on her iPhone as I stood there waiting to pay and get my truck. Not to be picky, but how about a company policy on iPhone use during work hours? I am glad I left my car there, departed, and let the service department call me rather than wait there. Experienced a complete brake failure in my 2017 SUV that I bought and serviced at Sun State. The brake failure resulted in a slow speed parking lot crash. On a highway, this issue could have been deadly. Hard to believe that Ford has these issues and Ford and Sun State seem to believe that it is a normal course of business issue. That seems crazy to me. However, once the vehicle was towed to Sun State, Maurice quickly got the brake booster replaced and the bumper repainted. The repair looks very good. read more

I was in a car accident and left my car here, because this ford has a body collision center. The insurance inspector said it should take about 12 days to fix so that's the amount of days I got with the rental. The 12 days came up still didn't get my car. So I got my rental extended about another week and the car still isn't ready. Again I'm the one who has to call and find out what's going on it's been about 20 days and Im just finding out that there's a back order on one of the parts to my car. But they never never called me once to keep me updated even though telling me they would. They lack costumer service. read more

I've used Sun State Ford for years for service but this time I had repairs. After paying $2157 for repairs I picked up my car and it was literally gushing oil. I was too afraid to even drive it! I have never driven a car with an oil leak and couldn't figure out why immediately after picking my car up I had this problem. I documented the oil leaks every morning and contacted the service department, they advised me to return the car and they would have a look. After they looked at the car they quote me $1500 to repair the severe oil leak. I took the car to a local mechanic and had the problem fixed for $500. I lost all my confidence in this dealership service department. Too coincidental that a car goes in for repairs and comes back out literally in that condition. I am not placing blame but just don't feel comfortable using them. On top of the fact that the car was fixed professionally and in a timely manner for a third of the cost. Lesson learned! read more

Well I'll tell you what made us decide to come to this location. We bought a Ford 500 from another car dealership used of course , so we were saying we need to take this Ford car to a Ford dealership to get it checked out. We were greeted very nicely by young man name Maurice. We told him about our new car purchase or used car purchase and he gave us some hard facts about it and blatant truth about it. We appreciated his honesty and now we can go forward to do further research on this car before our trial period is up. The main thing he told us about this Ford 500 is that it's known to have transmission problems. That is a no-no for us. We told him how that our car is jerking forward or lunging forward. And a good rule of thumb is to never buy a used car with high mileage. read more

I write this review as a person who has, in the past, purchase numerous Ford trucks and SUV's. I also have close friends who were Ford employees. I am the type of purchaser who does thorough research about a vehicle before I set foot on a lot. I know when sticker prices are inflated and I am a pro at not getting juiced. I've been to this dealership 3 times because I do concede there are some salesmen who can hang a bad name on a business. I did give them a chance. However, ALL 3 times I got a full flavored bait and switch, sleazy car salesman experience. The last time I came knowing what I would pay for a new for F150, which included a fair profit amount for the business. I was literally told my offer would force the business to sell the vehicle at a loss. I allowed myself to be shuffled through the tiered process where I ultimately broke out my folder and showed the "manager" what his business paid for the vehicle. After I left, I drove across town and purchased the same vehicle for less than I was willing to offer Sun State Ford. It was actually the no-haggle sticker price on the truck that I paid too. The competing dealership also threw in extras. I hope this business changes its tune because the sticker prices I saw when I went there were truly and insult to my intelligence. I actually may purchase another F150 in the future for hauling furniture and I will again give this place a shot. If they have changed their practices I will gladly update this review with a fair and honest re-evaluation. read more
