An authentic dimsum experience here in MA. This restaurant is not very big so do expect a bit of a wait at peak times. They have their own parking lot though it's not the largest. Make sure you're parked appropriately or you will be towed, which happened to someone during our visit. They went around to each table to see who the car belonged to. Lots of classic dimsum items on the menu - tons to choose from. The egg tarts were very flakey and buttery. Everything was also reasonably priced. Worth a try if you're in the area and you like dimsum.

Great experience at Sun Kong! I went with a group of 4 and all of the dim sum was really good & authentic. Highlights: - pineapple bun with egg yolk filling (AMAZING) - shrimp hargrow Just okay: - egg tarts

Ok, so full disclosure: I'm no expert on authentic Chinese dim sum. And this is probably the 2nd time in my lifetime I've had it. But after driving from the Catskills to help our daughter settle into her new MA apartment, hubs and I got hit with a serious craving for Chinese food the way we know it in NYC- either that hood spot feel or restaurant-style. You know...crispy broccoli in brown sauce, veggies in that same glorious glaze and fried rice with that greasy, salty kick only NYC knows how to do. In comes Sun K. and because it was easy to get to. You walk in, dining room to the right, sunken room to the left and they hand you a dim sum menu with a pen like you're about to take the SATs. We skipped all that and went straight for the à la carte menu. I asked for plain broccoli with brown sauce. What I got was like steamed broccoli in white sauce. My daughter ordered shrimp and broccoli and asked for brown sauce too- but she got the same white sauce. Is brown sauce not used in MA? Is MA in some kind of no-brown sauce zone? What's happening? At least offer the option of brown or white sauce. Hubs ate most of his pork fried rice. Was the food fresh? Sure, I'll give 'em that. But no brown sauce? I guess that's just how they roll in MA (?). That's not just a slip-up- that's like a full-on Chinese food miss with very nice service in a low-key vibe.

A few menu items. They include Chinese characters, English descriptions and a picture of each dish.

This place is the real deal for dim sum. my extended family came the day after Christmas for a meal. The staff is efficiently buzzing about serving the guests (who were mostly East Asian, which my family took as a good omen). The restaurant consists of two large rooms with round tables. When we walked in, there were several parties already waiting, and we sat by some fish tanks at the front door. Our table is ready rather quickly. Much faster than they had estimated. We sat and were handed menus and a little form to complete for placing our order. As they deliver the dishes, they checked them off on the master bill. The food was incredible and the tea had actual loose leaves. Thank you goodness the tablecloth is waterproof because we spilled our tea and sauces no less than 1000 times in our hour there. We ordered about 20 dishes which somehow came out to a total of just over $100. That fed five people plus an immense amount of leftovers. I will definitely be back and I highly recommend that you come by for a meal as well.

For ALL non Asians, don't expect great service, just be glad IF you receive it. LOL Food was great but same as the last time we came. Came on a Tuesday after Christmas week. Pretty packed and they were pretty busy. First 4 dishes came out quick and then very slowly the next one came one by one. Then the last 6 items were at a stand still for like 20 minutes. I asked, turns out, they didn't make sweet tofu that day. No one thought to come tell us that. We ordered 4 sweet tofu. Apparently the last two dishes were still being made. I waited another 15 minutes or so, then the pan fried bun came and I asked the lady about the egg custard, she said 'Oh' and grabbed one right off the cart. By now we've already sat so long waiting, lost our appetite so we needed to pack it all up. I asked for to go containers for the dry dishes and for the left over congee. I got the styrofoam containers, I asked if I can have the tub for the congee, lady walked off never came back. Then I asked one of the red shirt, he looked and 'oh' and walked away and never came back. I waved down a different red shirt and this one got me a plastic tub right away. This is pretty much the norm. I'm just glad the food taste good.

This review is for the dim sum. Visiting a friend, and wanted to checkout the dim sum scene. I like this place a lot - service is friendly and quick, ambiance is chill and relaxed (based on coming on a weekday lol). There are no carts - you order via a form. Beverages - I ordered pu erh (bolay) tea, and two cans of Starry Lemon Lime. I ordered my go-tos - - Diced Spareribs w/Black Beans (they served delicious cubed taro pieces underneath) - Poached Chinese Broccoli - Shrimp & Chives Dumplings (an order gives you 3 pcs) - Shrimp Dumpling (har gow) - Pork & Shrimp Shao Mai (shu mai) - Stir Fried Sticky RIce I also ordered to try - - Fried Stuffed Tofu: pretty good. The "stuffed" part is a fried shrimp paste patty placed on top - Malaysian Style Sponge Cake: so yummy, and hard to find nowadays. - Steamed Roast Pork Bun Everything was delicious. What stood out were the spareribs, sticky rice and Malaysian Style sponge cake. Total came out to about $72 (with a lot of leftovers). I'm a happy girl.

Everything was amazingly delicious! I especially like the lamb pot, flavorful and saucy. The service was very fast and friendly. After we finished the meal, they brought sweet red bean soup and it was very tasty. Another table was celebrating a birthday, the ambiance was positive and festive. I will definitely go back again.

I used to love coming here for dim sum and sometimes do takeout for dinner whenever I'm in the area. But after my last visit I think I have a change of heart. I don't think I'll be returning. It was slightly busy on a Monday morning but there were a lot of waiters. I was seated right away there were 4 of us. They hand you a pictured menu along with a white piece paper to checked off what you want to order. Then handed back to your waiter. I put in my order waited for my food. Everything I've order came out. Except for the extra crab ball I ordered because I didn't realized it was only one and not two as pictured. But that never came. Also put in two ordered for sticky rice. That never came out as well. Nobody ever came out and told me why it never came. Or ask if we needed anything. So with that being said the dim sum was just okay. It didn't tasted as good as the last time I was here. But I felt an off vibe every time I'd requested something. They seem annoyed. Maybe because I'm not Chinese and doesn't speak their language I felt I was treated differently. I never came off as being rude or anything. So with their bad service because some stuff I ordered never came out and they never inform me about it and also weren't attentive at my table I would not be returning.

The food was spoiled I bought a pu pu platter for two the crab ragoon was so hard and the filling taste spoiled The teriyaki stick wasn't even cooked And the spring roll the cabbage was spoiled as well. I think this is the last time I'll ever eat Chinese food again.

Popular busy dim sum restaurant in Malden. 28 tables, moves pretty quick. Good: - pork shrimp shao mai is tasty with tender meat - shrimp har kao is flavorful, though thick skin - shrimp rice roll has decent taste and good shrimp - spicy salted squid has crispy tasty calamari - fried Shanghai egg roll arrived piping hot and crispy. Strong meat smell may not be everyone's taste. - pan fried turnip cake - Sesame seed ball arrived crispy and warm Ok: - char siew bao - baked salted egg bun - custard egg bun - sticky rice with chicken in lotus leaf needs more taste

$45 for 8-9 items? Not bad.

Maybe it's me but I didn't really enjoy my dim sum experience here. Went with my little sister Sunday morning. Wasn't busy at all. Service right from the beginning was already horrible lol I know they're used to serving older Asian folks but I wasn't greeted or offered tea/water like the rest of them lol was totally ignored for 5 minutes until I waved at a waiter to be seated. Once seated, I had to ask for EVERYTHING. Not overreacting at all. I had to ask for the menu, water/tea, and sauces. Anyways. Food - shrimp noodle was over cooked so everything was falling apart when picking it up. Shu Mai was also overcooked because the outer layer was mushy. Chicken feet was bland. Spareribs was actually decent because I like how they cook it with taro. Overall, definitely not coming back (was in the area for errands). It's rare for me to give bad reviews lol no disrespect to the other reviewers but in my opinion, you haven't had good dim sum if you think this place is AMAZING lol

This is a solid, affordable dimsum place for a quick breakfast or brunch. It's often very busy and bustling, and it can be hard to flag down a waiter. The food is good and hits the spot. Nothing special, but it is tasty and comes out quick.

Dim sum! Not the classic carts here. You have order from a paper. There's lots of classic options and new dishes that I haven't seen before.

The space is decently sized but not huge so expect a wait on the weekend. On a Saturday at 11 we were quoted a 30 minute wait for 7 people but only ended up waiting maybe 15 or so. Highlights: - beef chow fun (dry) - great wok hei flavor and they didn't skimp on meat. - pan fried turnip cake - crispy on all sides vs. just top and bottom that you usually see. Cut thicker too so you get more of the soft inside. - beancurd sheet roll with pork and shrimp - tender and flavorful. The sauce they have on the outside is delish and the beancurd texture was nice. - taro puff with pork - light and crispy on the outside. The taro itself was soft and custardy. It didn't eat heavy even though it's deep fried. Just ok: - steamed rice roll with shrimp - sauce was just ok and the rice roll was a little thick. - Chinese broccoli with oyster sauce - the sauce was very thin. I'm used to a thicker more flavorful sauce that holds to the broccoli better. But the broccoli was cooked well. Service really left a lot to be desired. We constantly had to flag people down and they really made it feel like we were bothering them. They missed an item on our order and it took a while for them to correct it. Only street parking but it's not hard to find a spot and it's only $1 an hr.

We were quickly seated and it's a spacious and vibrant restaurant. I would say the overall service was great. There was a lady who took our drink order, and then a gentleman who took our food order. It was a bit confusing at first because I wasn't clear who we should be ordering from until the lady clarified. I would say our waiter was very patient and gracious with my dad who can be a bit much at times. The menu was decent and the prices were reasonable considering they are a family style restaurant and their entrees are large enough for 2-3 people to eat from. We started with crispy chicken wings for appetizers and those were pretty good. The chicken was a bit dry and pale in comparison to most chicken wings I've eaten, but they were good. For entrees, we had Mongolian beef, crispy orange chicken, General Tso chicken, beef kimchi fried rice, and shrimp fried rice. My favorites were the beef kimchi fried rice and crispy orange chicken. The Mongolian beef was also very tasty. Actually, everything was delicious to us and we had plenty of food leftover. We could have done without one of the chicken entrees, to be honest.

The food is not gourmet by any means, but you will have a good abundance of selection between their prepared hot foods, cold foods and fruits/desserts and their wonderful hibachi grill. There is also sushi, but I won't comment on that as I'm not a sushi eater myself. My wife is, but she says to beware in that section. The hibachi is my favorite part. If you're going for lunch, it's only $15 per person and one plate at the hibachi bar makes it worthy already. I love picking out my carb (rice or noodles) and then my selection of meats and veggies. I love the artificial crab, eggs, and various veggies. My go-to sauce is the teriyaki with spicy sauce. It hits everytime! The only gripe with the hibachi bar is they cook everything super well done. There are lots of fruit options, many desserts to choose from and there is ice cream. The rest of the hot foods bar is hit or miss. There are some that I enjoy, some that I don't. The seating area is very large, so any number of people can be accommodated here. The staff appear pretty friendly. They continue to takeaway our used plates quickly. They also offer takeout food priced by the pound, i think $6.99? Lots of parking here. Come with an open mind and just don't expect gourmet quality food. You come here for quantity and variety.
