The reviews are accurate, hands down the best pork chop plate in the greater Boston area. We got takeout, so cannot speak to the dining experience but it seemed like your typical restaurant. Not super clean, but also not disgusting either. If you don't want rice, get the vermicelli. read more

Saigon NV - Pork chop rice plate with meatloaf and pork skin - Vietnamese Near Me - Malden, Massachusetts

If UberEats had a 2025 wrapped, Saigon NV would be at the top of my list for being THE spot I've consistently ordered from again and again for Viet food. While I'll order their pho from time to time, I'm mostly obsessed with their Cơm Sườn Nướng aka Vietnamese Grilled Pork Chop. My boyfriend claims he's a Cơm Sườn Nướng connoisseur and says that Saigon NV is probably one of the few places left in the Boston area that makes theirs similar to the authentic ones you get in Vietnam. Even if you didn't know what's considered "authentic" it's still objectively a very delicious grilled pork chop plate. The pork chop is always marinated and grilled perfectly. The broken rice is one of my favorite components and the portion of the pork chop is just VALUE!! Just trust us- the Cơm Sườn Nướng is a must order! I haven't had a chance to dine in-person yet because ordering delivery via UberEats has just been so pleasant and convenient. I never have any issues with the delivery or any concerns with the packaging or food quality coming from the restaurant. I have no doubts that the in-person dining experience will be no frills and just as authentic and delicious (if not even better). Another Yelper did mention that management may have changed recently so I hope with the new owner(s), they continue to upkeep the authenticity, value and quality. read more

Service is definitely on the slower side, but everyone was really nice. The plates and utensils weren't the cleanest haha but honestly at little hole-in-the-wall spots like this, I don't mind it the flavors make up for everything! The bún and phở were amazing, portions were generous read more

I took the public transportation from Wakefield to downtown Boston on a brisk may 2025 trip. Along the way hunger struck and decided to have been raise food for lunch. I ended up here at Saigon NV restaurant. It was quite cool. Any Vietnamese place is normally a small restaurant with probably 5 to 10 tables usually. Saigon Vietnamese restaurant is no different, even though they had maybe a few tables more than the average. I spent about an hour or so from start to finish. It was about 1 PM when I came here for lunch. It was not really busy, but at the same time I got a table almost immediately. The restaurant is clean and the ambience was Typical of any Vietnamese restaurant. The service here was friendly and fast. I was here on a Sunday so it was pretty chill and definitely nice to be a tourist in Boston. I found at home here. It's nice that there is a sizable Asia population in Boston. I managed to have the Shrimp roll as the appetizer. And for the main entrée, I got a large delicious bowl of beef noodle soup. It is the pride of Vietnamese cooking cuisine. I also ended up getting a strawberry smoothie at the end of the meal. For the most part though, it was a nice lunch vibe in downtown Boston on a Sunday in May 2025. Definitely recommend anybody and everybody who loves families, food, or love getting their Pho fix every day. The restaurants menu is pretty expensive, which mostly consist of the appetizer, beef noodle soup, and their rice dishes. There's other things, but, I normally get the beef noodle soup because that's what I was craving at any given day. The entire experience was just fantastic and dandy at the same time. Just soul food in downtown Boston on a Sunday in May 2025, or whenever you decide to visit for your next bowl of Pho or something you like. The overall experience here at Saigon NV Vietnamese restaurant in Boston, Massachusetts was nice and typical ambiance of any Vietnamese restaurant in the United States. There wasn't too much people dining here so the noise level was kept to a minimum. I sat in the middle of the restaurant next to the wall. It was nice. The shrimp spring rolls were good and refreshing, while the Pho itself was just what I needed to kickstart the day, even when it was after 1pm. This lunch spot was just what I needed for sure. The strawberry smoothie was good as I headed out the door. Everything here was good and delicious. Although the prices here were on point with other Vietnamese restaurants around the country, it felt like nothing was discounted or expensive because it was Boston. For the most part though, the experience is good and the food is something to experience. Whether you are a Local or a tourist like me, if you find yourself in Boston and craving Vietnamese cuisine, consider coming to Saigon NV Vietnamese restaurant. You'll be glad you did. The service was good and friendly. Fast and reliable for sure. Saigon NV Vietnamese restaurant is located at 381 Main Street in Malden, Massachusetts. They accept major credit cards as well as cash. I think they had a minimum purchase requirement for credit cards. As far as Parking goes, best bet would be street parking and any paid parking areas you could find nearby. As for me, I came and departed using Boston's public transportation system. Quite convenient and easy if you're not in a rush. There are bus stops nearby the restaurant, so best thing to do is to find the bus routes that are available for you to come here from your origin. Of course, there's always uber and Lyft to meet your needs as well. And so, if you need Vietnamese in your life and in Boston, consider coming to Saigon NV Vietnamese restaurant for your next meal. Definitely worth coming here and enjoying all the flavors that come with it. You'll be Glad you did. 4.0 stars for the overall experience. It was great and hope to get back here again. Support local! Decent food but like other reviewers have mentioned it's not the cleanest place. If you want to get your pho fix and don't care about the gnats flying around old food sitting in a garbage pile near the bathroom, this is it. Otherwise I'd go out of my way to find another viet spot to eat. read more

Com suon nuong was good as per other reviews said but I thought their pho was heavy on the star anise/cinnamon. this was a really good stop for some vietnamese food in malden! i have some qualms hence the 3 stars. 4 stars for the food, which was good and well made, but the cleanliness of the place could have been better maintained, so unfortunately 3 stars in total. the food was great and service was very fast, i really liked the vietnamese pancake, we were very thankful for the food since we were hungover, but i think if i was to go to another vietnamese restaurant i'd be better satisfied with the upkeep of the place. it wasn't great to look around and see that the tables were unwashed and the floor was dirty. hopefully if i visit again i'll see this improved! read more

I went to pick up an order from Saigon in Malden, and I was shocked by how dirty the bathroom was -- it was really disgusting and made me uncomfortable. The food itself was okay, but cleanliness is a big deal, and this really needs improvement. Restaurants can have great dishes, but a dirty bathroom leaves a bad impression and makes me think twice about coming back. I hope management addresses this soon. read more

So a friend and I were in the mood for some Pho. We decided to just park in Malden center and pick a place. The first Vietnamese place that we saw with Saigon. We decided looks like a good place. They had a couple seats out on the side sidewalk. We opted for inside with nice cool air conditioning. The place was very basic maybe a dozen tables and a counter. Our waiter came over promptly with a couple menus. Of course we went for the pho. I decided on my favorite tai, nam, gau. My friend went for the small which is $14.95. I of course went with the extra large for two dollars more only $16.95. as most Vietnamese places go within a minute or we had been sprouts and basil along the table. In a minute or two later outcomes the pho. Steaming hot looking fabulous. I like to mix a little hoisin sauce with Sriracha to dip my meat and noodles, which were both on the table. I was surprised to see regular spoons rather than the Asian type bucket spoon. And the water came in aluminum glass, but not bad, actually kept the water very cold. Well, as you can imagine, I did not eat the entire extra large. I managed to finish all the meats and noodles. The waiter was kind enough to give me a container to take my broth home. All in all the great. Noodles were perfectly. Meats were cooked perfectly. The broth a little bit on the mild side could use a little bit more spice, but definitely would please the masses. I think I'll try our rice plate. If you're in Malden Square, give it a try. read more

Came here for dinner on a Monday night to find them about half way full. We got seated right away in this quaint and simple establishment. Parking wasn't too bad since there is lots of street parking available. We shared their shrimp paste in tofu skin which was crispy on the outside. Their fish sauce was decent especially with their S9 Bnh Hi Cho Tm Tht Nng. I found that it was a good portion and quality but could have used more lettuce and pickled vegetables on the side for wrapping. My brother enjoyed his P2 Ph c Bit finding the broth aromatic with lots of toppings. Overall, I had a pleasant experience and found the food to be reasonably priced. Our waiter was kind and efficient so I wouldn't mind coming to try other items from their menu. read more

Please, I implore you, forget the pho. The bun bo hue too, just put them out of your mind. I know it's literally called Saigon NOODLE, but don't fall for it. I say this because Boston has pho that stacks up against the best, there's nothing wrong with the bowl served here. But if you order the pho, you're missing out on their true star, the Cơm Sườn Nướng. 5 stars for the pork chop alone, you guys. This place is a gem and one of the few places left over from "old" Malden. Also, if you insist on some noodles, the bún thịt nướng has tasty bbq pork on it, too. I believe the place changed hands, but can confirm the com suon is still very, very good. read more

I've been coming to this restaurant for years and have always enjoyed my experience, but unfortunately my most recent visit was very disappointing. The new owner was rude and gave us an attitude when she asked us to move tables, despite the restaurant being slow and there being plenty of open seating available. Customer service has clearly declined, which is upsetting as a long-time customer. On top of that, the bathroom was dirty and the floors felt oily and slippery, which raised concerns about cleanliness and safety. It's unfortunate to see such a negative change in a place I've supported for so long. Based on this experience, I won't be returning. read more

Small restaurant. Smelled great walking in. Not the cleanest or fanciest place, but the food was ok. Spring rolls were pretty plain and bland. The pho wasn't bad. Broth had flavor. Not toooo deep of flavor. But definitely satisfied a craving. The meatballs and meat in the pho was eh. Overall. Not bad. Hit the spot if you desperately need it. read more

Spring shrimp roll very fresh and delicious. Shrimp vermicelli scallion, basil and hint of mint rolled up in rice wrapper served room temp. Which it is suppose to be. I. This has become my go-to Pho delivery when I get that craving. I always get one of the beef pho varieties, pork/shrimp summer rolls, and a sour sop smoothie. Honestly, I come back every time because I love the sour sop smoothie (I'm from the Caribbean) and idk where else to get that in Boston. The food is always solid, not mind blowing, but it's consistent and yummy. The prices are also so reasonable and delivery is ready quickly. They have so many other food options too. I really want to try more here. Definitely recommend for people in the Somerville/medford/malden area! read more

Ordered thru Uber eats, so factoring that (delivery time, take out vs dine in) into this. Got quite a bit of food and was decently surprised by most of it! Was also so hungry that I forgot to take pictures of most of it, oops Grilled beef spring rolls: 8/10- good, only wished they didn't put peanuts directly in it or at least marked it on the description. Banh xeo: 6/10- admittedly I have high standards for banh xeo coming from the Bay Area, and this is also probably something that shouldn't sit for too long before eating as it was a bit oily and soggy--however I wouldn't blame this on the restaurant since my delivery took over 30 min. However, I was a bit confused to see giant thick chunks of pork which were tough to get around and wrap. I also wish they provided more greens for wrapping. Pho tai: 7.5/10 run of the mill, a little on the sweet side but no major complaints Grilled pork vermicelli bowl: 8/10- really enjoyed the nuoc mam sauce! Pork was slightly burnt in places but good flavor. read more

Solid 4 stars Came here the other day for some Pho. The place was PACKED and they only had two people waiting tables and taking care of take out orders. Needless to say, the service was painfully slow and I was in there for over 2 hours. Despite the slow but friendly service, the food was delicious. This was some great Pho. So glad I found this place. Was craving pho, and my boyfriend ordered the S1 Steamed Vermicelli Noodle Plate. While the pho was excellent, we will definitely go back for the plate because the portion and price was perfect for sharing. The combination of pork, shrimp, and egg rolls made for great BYO spring rolls packed with flavor and crunch. If you like beer, they have limited standard options for cheap and serve them with a cold glass. The service was quick and efficient despite the initial opening rush when we arrived. This is definitely a family spot where groups go to enjoy but it was laid back and not extremely loud. Would definitely recommend. read more

The BEST pho restaurant in the area! A small local restaurant that serves comforting Vietnamese food! They keep getting better each time I visit! Bún bò Huế is a must try for anyone wanting to elevate their pho pallet! It is so much better than the regular Phở Tái and I love it because the broth is a little more flavorful and a little bit spicy! The red broth is the Bún bò Huế and the clear brown broth is the Phở Tái. I like that this place lets you choose a size from small, medium to large. We both got the small size and it was so filling for us! Lots of meat and lots of noodles comes with the soup. The grilled pork spring roll is incredibly flavorful and I love the peanut pieces in the sauce. Service was a little slow they were very busy but they didn't have a lot of servers. But overall our food arrived promptly and we were very satisfied with our experience! read more

I hate that I have to do this and make a bad review because I don't like making bad reviews unless it's warranted last night. I ordered a chicken pho bowl and I ordered a shrimp spring roll and bok choy dish with garlic sauce on door dash. I don't know if the order didn't come on time, and it was sitting there, possibly at the restaurant for a while or if there was some cross contamination, but I woke up this morning around 3 AM violently throwing up and using the restroom and I've been up with bodyaches feeling like shit since 3 AM. read more

I came back and tried their Pho Tai Bo Vien and Banh Canh Cua. Their Pho was actually really good this time because it had a really bold flavor profile that was buttery and rich and delicious! I will be back to try pho. I had the Bun Bo Hue and asked them if it included any pork, or if the broth was made with pork. I was told that there is pork meat, but that it doesn't have to be included and can be subbed for beef. Well, I think I should've just went with my gut because even though there was no pork meat inside the soup when it arrived, I could taste and smell that the broth had been made with pork. And they charged me for "taking out an item", which I assume to be the pork meat, per the receipt. I didn't want to waste my food, so I took it to-go to give to a friend. Someone next to me ordered a platter of noodles that smelled heavenly and I will definitely be back to try that as well. Saigon NV is what I'll call the perfect no frills restaurant. It's got a small and unassuming shop front, and average in everyway you look at it. The prices scream just right, until the food comes in and the portion makes you feel like you scored a great deal! Not only that, the food tastes amazing. The pho is as hearty as the steam that comes off it (make sure to ask for chili oil), and the meat portion is generous. I also got to try R1 which is a huge plate of rice, meat loaf, pork chops, two eggs, shredded pork and crispy tofu.
