I went to pick up an order from Saigon in Malden, and I was shocked by how dirty the bathroom was -- it was really disgusting and made me uncomfortable. The food itself was okay, but cleanliness is a big deal, and this really needs improvement. Restaurants can have great dishes, but a dirty bathroom leaves a bad impression and makes me think twice about coming back. I hope management addresses this soon. read more

If UberEats had a 2025 wrapped, Saigon NV would be at the top of my list for being THE spot I've consistently ordered from again and again for Viet food. While I'll order their pho from time to time, I'm mostly obsessed with their Cơm Sườn Nướng aka Vietnamese Grilled Pork Chop. My boyfriend claims he's a Cơm Sườn Nướng connoisseur and says that Saigon NV is probably one of the few places left in the Boston area that makes theirs similar to the authentic ones you get in Vietnam. Even if you didn't know what's considered "authentic" it's still objectively a very delicious grilled pork chop plate. The pork chop is always marinated and grilled perfectly. The broken rice is one of my favorite components and the portion of the pork chop is just VALUE!! Just trust us- the Cơm Sườn Nướng is a must order! I haven't had a chance to dine in-person yet because ordering delivery via UberEats has just been so pleasant and convenient. I never have any issues with the delivery or any concerns with the packaging or food quality coming from the restaurant. I have no doubts that the in-person dining experience will be no frills and just as authentic and delicious (if not even better). I've been coming to this restaurant for years and have always enjoyed my experience, but unfortunately my most recent visit was very disappointing. The new owner was rude and gave us an attitude when she asked us to move tables, despite the restaurant being slow and there being plenty of open seating available. Customer service has clearly declined, which is upsetting as a long-time customer. On top of that, the bathroom was dirty and the floors felt oily and slippery, which raised concerns about cleanliness and safety. I took the public transportation from Wakefield to downtown Boston on a brisk may 2025 trip. Along the way hunger struck and decided to have been raise food for lunch. I ended up here at Saigon NV restaurant. It was quite cool. Any Vietnamese place is normally a small restaurant with probably 5 to 10 tables usually. Saigon Vietnamese restaurant is no different, even though they had maybe a few tables more than the average. I spent about an hour or so from start to finish. It was about 1 PM when I came here for lunch. It was not really busy, but at the same time I got a table almost immediately. The restaurant is clean and the ambience was Typical of any Vietnamese restaurant. The service here was friendly and fast. I was here on a Sunday so it was pretty chill and definitely nice to be a tourist in Boston. I found at home here. It's nice that there is a sizable Asia population in Boston. I managed to have the Shrimp roll as the appetizer. And for the main entrée, I got a large delicious bowl of beef noodle soup. It is the pride of Vietnamese cooking cuisine. I also ended up getting a strawberry smoothie at the end of the meal. For the most part though, it was a nice lunch vibe in downtown Boston on a Sunday in May 2025. So a friend and I were in the mood for some Pho. We decided to just park in Malden center and pick a place. The first Vietnamese place that we saw with Saigon. We decided looks like a good place. They had a couple seats out on the side sidewalk. We opted for inside with nice cool air conditioning. The place was very basic maybe a dozen tables and a counter. Our waiter came over promptly with a couple menus. Of course we went for the pho. I decided on my favorite tai, nam, gau. My friend went for the small which is $14.95. I of course went with the extra large for two dollars more only $16.95. as most Vietnamese places go within a minute or we had been sprouts and basil along the table. In a minute or two later outcomes the pho. Steaming hot looking fabulous. I like to mix a little hoisin sauce with Sriracha to dip my meat and noodles, which were both on the table. I was surprised to see regular spoons rather than the Asian type bucket spoon. And the water came in aluminum glass, but not bad, actually kept the water very cold. Well, as you can imagine, I did not eat the entire extra large. I managed to finish all the meats and noodles. The waiter was kind enough to give me a container to take my broth home. All in all the great. Noodles were perfectly. Meats were cooked perfectly. The broth a little bit on the mild side could use a little bit more spice, but definitely would please the masses. Please, I implore you, forget the pho. The bun bo hue too, just put them out of your mind. I know it's literally called Saigon NOODLE, but don't fall for it. I say this because Boston has pho that stacks up against the best, there's nothing wrong with the bowl served here. But if you order the pho, you're missing out on their true star, the Cơm Sườn Nướng. 5 stars for the pork chop alone, you guys. This place is a gem and one of the few places left over from "old" Malden. Also, if you insist on some noodles, the bún thịt nướng has tasty bbq pork on it, too. Came here for dinner on a Monday night to find them about half way full. We got seated right away in this quaint and simple establishment. Parking wasn't too bad since there is lots of street parking available. We shared their shrimp paste in tofu skin which was crispy on the outside. Their fish sauce was decent especially with their S9 Bnh Hi Cho Tm Tht Nng. I found that it was a good portion and quality but could have used more lettuce and pickled vegetables on the side for wrapping. My brother enjoyed his P2 Ph c Bit finding the broth aromatic with lots of toppings. Overall, I had a pleasant experience and found the food to be reasonably priced. This has become my go-to Pho delivery when I get that craving. I always get one of the beef pho varieties, pork/shrimp summer rolls, and a sour sop smoothie. Honestly, I come back every time because I love the sour sop smoothie (I'm from the Caribbean) and idk where else to get that in Boston. So glad I found this place. Was craving pho, and my boyfriend ordered the S1 Steamed Vermicelli Noodle Plate. While the pho was excellent, we will definitely go back for the plate because the portion and price was perfect for sharing. The combination of pork, shrimp, and egg rolls made for great BYO spring rolls packed with flavor and crunch. If you like beer, they have limited standard options for cheap and serve them with a cold glass. The service was quick and efficient despite the initial opening rush when we arrived. The BEST pho restaurant in the area! A small local restaurant that serves comforting Vietnamese food! They keep getting better each time I visit! Bún bò Huế is a must try for anyone wanting to elevate their pho pallet! It is so much better than the regular Phở Tái and I love it because the broth is a little more flavorful and a little bit spicy! The red broth is the Bún bò Huế and the clear brown broth is the Phở Tái. I like that this place lets you choose a size from small, medium to large. We both got the small size and it was so filling for us! Lots of meat and lots of noodles comes with the soup. The grilled pork spring roll is incredibly flavorful and I love the peanut pieces in the sauce. Service was a little slow they were very busy but they didn't have a lot of servers. I will be back to try pho. I had the Bun Bo Hue and asked them if it included any pork, or if the broth was made with pork. I was told that there is pork meat, but that it doesn't have to be included and can be subbed for beef. Well, I think I should've just went with my gut because even though there was no pork meat inside the soup when it arrived, I could taste and smell that the broth had been made with pork. And they charged me for "taking out an item", which I assume to be the pork meat, per the receipt. I didn't want to waste my food, so I took it to-go to give to a friend. Someone next to me ordered a platter of noodles that smelled heavenly and I will definitely be back to try that as well. The prices scream just right, until the food comes in and the portion makes you feel like you scored a great deal! Not only that, the food tastes amazing.
