This is a purely takeout review from uber eats. The crispy pork was flavorful had a strong sweet-and-sour profile taste to it although it was a bit soggy but then it was takeout so I'm gonna give it out a pass. The tangy sauce really gave this a nice rounded flavor. The spicy lamb flavor was really nice . I have to warn you, though it is actually pretty spicy so it has that really strong mala taste to it. I have to say, though the portions is a bit lacking. It's not as many lamb slices as I thought they would be. You can definitely mix the spicy oil with your rice and is pretty tasty. I really like how they took a lot of care of packaging the take out so that it doesn't leak with the additional bag around the saucy items. Overall, I think it's only worth the value if you have a discount from Uber eats like the 40% off otherwise otherwise just go pick it up . read more

Golden Garden - Crispy sweet Crispy Sweet and Sour Pork Sliced and Sauteed Cumin Lamb with Spicy Sauce - Chinese Near Me - Malden, Massachusetts

I ordered soup, an appetizer, and a meal. I had to ask for my appetizer and soup, they were going to bring everything out together until I said something . Wonton soup was made with a dark stock instead of a lighter chicken or vegetable stock, which is normally the case I believe. Boneless ribs were brought out, no sauces. I had to ask for mustard and duck sauce. Whole fish was great except so much broth. If anything dropped off my chopsticks it splashed up onto my new shirt. read more

Walked in and loved the big wide open concept with about 20 booth seats and a few tables with chairs in the middle. The host was very welcoming and went right to the kitchen to check on my order. The host and one other lady came out of the kitchen with my food and was so happy telling me how they added spoons and forks to make sure I was good to go. I loved how happy they were to tell the extra mile they went for me. I ordered Boneless Spareribs and Pork Fried Rice. They were both very good. The spareribs were cooked just right with the perfect amount of fat on them. The rice was done perfectly moist and full of pork. Definitely recommend a stop there if you're in the vicinity. read more

I like their Lomein, fried rice and rice noodles that are authentic. Haven't tried other dishes but will

Pretty standard Chinese food! Quick and easy pick-up. We got crab rangoons, orange chicken, and chicken fingers. Their crab rangoons had chives or scallions in them making them more flavorful. The orange chicken didn't have orange flavor as we had hoped and the sauce was thick. The chicken fingers are unlike anywhere else's. The batter is a little thinner and more crispy. Overall, the pick up service was quick and I would come back to try other dishes read more

This reminds me of Long Island Chinese food and it makes me very happy! Always so hot and fresh.

just spent over $200.00 on this Chinese food. it was the worst chinese my husband and I have had. the oil used to prepare the apps was old and tasted almost rancid. the pork strips, egg rolls, chicken fingers all tasted like they were not fresh and refried to attempt to bring them back to life. everything fried tasted fishy which makes me think that they use the same oil station to fry seafood, chicken, pork, egg rolls etc. entrees were slightly better but had an off taste as well. We would never order from this restaurant again. read more

The price point was very good and food better. The Golden Garden is known for its authentic, non Americanized food. It is probably worth noting that they also offer the standard items and that all are a grade above! The hot and sour soup was instantly devoured and had the perfect balance and texture. The delight of three was in a perfectly flavored brown sauce, was piping hot and obviously was comprised of very very fresh food items. The veggies were bursting with flavor and the texture was firm, but not undercooked. They did not skimp on the chicken beef or shrimp although I prefer larger shrimp as a rule. The rice was also perfectly flavored and cooked. The portions were so large I believe I will get 2 extra meals out of it!! I will be back. read more

Not sure what kind of meat this is but it was definitely spoiled rotten, it smelt atrocious. This Beef with Broccoli was good the first time I ordered it, it looked and tasted normal. This time it was all fat and some kind of cartilage and bone and what looks to be part of a trachea or some kind of airway. There was like a really thick layer of skin and cartilage that was unbreakable, a knife couldn't get through it. The pieces of skin or whatever this was were huge, the pictures don't do it justice. I'm not sure what I ate but I ate 5 pieces of it and got very ill. Projectile vomiting all night and was good the next day. I called that night and the woman that answered was very dismissive and said "it's ok, I hook you up next time". I said look, I'm not asking for a refund, keep the money, I don't want the money.. I just want you to throw whatever meat or not meat that is away and don't serve it to anyone else before you kill someone or get them very ill. Forget the refund, there will be no next time. I'm going to give 2 stars ONLY because I've had this dish before and it was fine, I don't know what happened this time but this wasn't beef and it was spoiled rotten. Zoom in on the pieces if you dare. This was my motivation to cook more food at home, you never know what you're consuming behind closed doors. I really liked the rice here the first time I ordered so this was a huge let down, especially how dismissive management was. I wish I could have took it back and had her smell it herself. I had to take the trash out after I threw it away, that's how bad it was. Be careful, don't order from anywhere. Still trying to figure out what in the extraterrestrial is going on in the bottom right of the middle picture. read more

My review is based off our order made thru UberEats tonight, where I also left a review. This is the last time ordering from this place. Third time was not the charm. I swear the oil they cook in is old & dirty. The look & taste of the fried food said it all. Here's what we ordered and where Golden Garden went wrong. - Fish Tofu - they were tasteless & covered in Cumin spice, why did they do that? - Salt & Pepper pork chop - 1 single chop cut up in pieces, not the traditional s&p seasoning or spicy as we indicated we wanted it and taste like old & dirty oil. - Beef w/ hot green pepper - NEVER GOT THIS. They sent us Chicken & broccoli instead ‍ it was bland and not what we wanted. We didn't eat it. UberEats refunded us for this. - Spicy chix wings - a joke of wings. No spicy flavor and also tasted like old & dirty oil. I'm sure my review won't make a difference but I needed to write it cause our dinner was a huge disappointment. Never Again Golden Garden. read more

Delicious, authentic and super fresh Chinese food in Malden!!! We have been going here for years and have tried so many things on the menu, from the General Tso's chicken to most of their Sichuan dishes and everything here is really, really good. You might not believe me when I say this, but this is one of the best Chinese restaurants in Massachusetts, if not the East Coast. You can tell that everything here is made from scratch and seasoned and cooked to perfection. When we crave Chinese food, we come here. No doubt about it. Great service and plenty of parking too! read more

I've been meaning to try Golden Garden and finally tried it last night for takeout. I was pleasantly surprised with the yummy choices I made: Leek Pie, Beef Peking Ravioli, Pork Fried Rice, Boneless Spareribs, Beef with Scallions, Shanghai Greens with Garlic, and Kimchi. Next time I'll have to try the Calamari and the Luffa! read more

I arrived and hot tea was at the table. Nice! The menu is extensive so I took some time. I ordered chef's special lo mein. It was delicious. The TV is playing a Chinese program so I could practice but I don't know the language. The restaurant is sparse on Sunday evening so relaxed. My food was good and a nice portion so I have tomorrow's lunch. The restroom was clean. read more

5 stars for amazing Chinese food! They do an amazing job with both American Chinese food and also authentic sezchuan. I have eaten here once and then ordered delivery and was amazingly pleased both times. First of all Amy, who works there and answers the phone is so sweet and friendly when you order takeout. She was so helpful with my questions and tried her best to advise. When I went to eat there I am guessing maybe she was there because my dine in experience with service was amazing also. I highly recommend the spicy chicken with cabbage and shredded beef with green chili peppers with you like spicy food. Crab rangoons and chicken fingers are tasty and crispy and come out hot. Fried rice is great. Shredded beef with string beans is great also. read more

Oh man, what a feast! Hot and sour wonton soup (actually a spicy brothy soup, not what you'd expect), shumai (more like soup dumplings here), and pork leak dumplings. Shumai were my favorite. Also got dan dan noodles, spicy tofu (so spicy!), and the house fried rice- freaking delicious! The fried rice actually stole the show... it's addicting. & Great, friendly, service. read more

We visited on a Sunday during lunch. The service was very friendly and the waitress was knowledgeable of the dishes. The four of us were seated in the largest and longest booth. Good design. The standard northern Chinese dishes were good - Dan Dan noodles (with minced pork, beef flat noodle soup, pan-fried pork and leek dumplings. The "brunch" items were meh - freshly made soy drink $3.50 (too bland); ma hua (a fried dough that is twisted, it was $2 for two 2" long items and they weren't crunchy; 1 special bao $3.95 (don't remember what it was but not worth the cost). The pork chop in brown sauce $15.95 was good but it was mainly pork ribs that are bony with not a lot of meat. We were really hoping to like this place but will need to look elsewhere for northern Chinese cuisine in the north shore. read more

Never again my stomach has been wrecked from getting a to go order from here. And it was the only thing I had that day. I think this is good place for takeout Chinese food. I like their hot and sour soup, house special fried rice (has pork and shrimp), pork dumplings (they're made from scratch- I've bought their frozen ones before and made it at home for breakfast), cold spicy beef tendon with spicy saucy (quite garlicky), and fish filet with vegetables (cucumbers). Ordered delivery from them and it just wasn't good. Tasteless beef teriyaki, dumplings that tasted slightly off. The only sauce included was a single packet of soy sauce, even though we ordered egg rolls and dumplings. On a particularly weird note, we ordered both the sweet and sour pork and the sweet and sour chicken (two different people wanted sweet and sour dishes) and they were VERY different preparations - the first was more like an orange chicken treatment, where sauce coats the food to start with, while the second was a pour-over sauce with pineapple and peppers. None of us wanted to finish the dumplings or save the leftovers. We're going to give this a pass and order from somewhere else next time. read more

This place is awesome! Im American and have never been to China, so I have no true perspective, but when it comes to American Chinese food. This place is great :) Bottomless free hot green tea. Everything is from scratch and the staff are gracious and accommodating (some vegetables on their menu are called different things in America so my server looked at images on my phone to confirm what some veggies were). The prices and portions, on the money! (Go for lunch and get a combo to realllllly get your $$$ worth) Their wonton soup: Delish! The broth was clear with great taste. The wontons melt in your mouth. They make all dumplings in house which is often rare in placed. General Tso chicken, great! The sauce didn't taste confectionary/fake and the chicken was perfectly crispy underneath. The crab rangoons, also made in house, had great flavor and nice and crispy. I wish there was more crab meat tho (a reason why I didn't give 5 stars). The fried rice is literally just fried rice, no onion or bean sprouts or eggs or peas or veggies. The other reason I didn't give 5 stars. The Chinese broccoli (they call it Tang broccoli) with oyster sauce was yummy! If I didn't have a bunch of garlic the night before, I'd go for the tang with garlic next time for sure. read more

Loved the sour cabbage dish which reminds me of home and is definitely way more authentic than the other Boston area restaurants! Dumplings are pretty good, pork skin aspic reminds me of home too, green bean noodles app has a great sauce, lamb skewers are great, but the double cooked pork/bacon was just ok and the potato eggplant green pepper dish was just ok too. Overall good food! We came during soft opening, service was kinda slow, hopefully it'll get better. Will definitely come back for more! read more
