    Beef with Broccoli

Not sure what kind of meat this is but it was definitely spoiled rotten, it smelt atrocious. This Beef with Broccoli was good the first time I ordered it, it looked and tasted normal. This time it was all fat and some kind of cartilage and bone and what looks to be part of a trachea or some kind of airway. There was like a really thick layer of skin and cartilage that was unbreakable, a knife couldn't get through it. The pieces of skin or whatever this was were huge, the pictures don't do it justice. I'm not sure what I ate but I ate 5 pieces of it and got very ill. Projectile vomiting all night and was good the next day. I called that night and the woman that answered was very dismissive and said "it's ok, I hook you up next time". I said look, I'm not asking for a refund, keep the money, I don't want the money.. I just want you to throw whatever meat or not meat that is away and don't serve it to anyone else before you kill someone or get them very ill. Forget the refund, there will be no next time. I'm going to give 2 stars ONLY because I've had this dish before and it was fine, I don't know what happened this time but this wasn't beef and it was spoiled rotten. Zoom in on the pieces if you dare. This was my motivation to cook more food at home, you never know what you're consuming behind closed doors. I really liked the rice here the first time I ordered so this was a huge let down, especially how dismissive management was. I wish I could have took it back and had her smell it herself. I had to take the trash out after I threw it away, that's how bad it was. Be careful, don't order from anywhere. Still trying to figure out what in the extraterrestrial is going on in the bottom right of the middle picture.

The price point was very good and food better. The Golden Garden is known for its authentic, non Americanized food. It is probably worth noting that they also offer the standard items and that all are a grade above! The hot and sour soup was instantly devoured and had the perfect balance and texture. The delight of three was in a perfectly flavored brown sauce, was piping hot and obviously was comprised of very very fresh food items. The veggies were bursting with flavor and the texture was firm, but not undercooked. They did not skimp on the chicken beef or shrimp although I prefer larger shrimp as a rule. The rice was also perfectly flavored and cooked. The portions were so large I believe I will get 2 extra meals out of it!! I will be back.

We happened to just stop in randomly, and we all really enjoyed the dishes for lunch. Very attentive service in a no frills sort of spot. Would certainly go back.

Delicious, authentic and super fresh Chinese food in Malden!!! We have been going here for years and have tried so many things on the menu, from the General Tso's chicken to most of their Sichuan dishes and everything here is really, really good. You might not believe me when I say this, but this is one of the best Chinese restaurants in Massachusetts, if not the East Coast. You can tell that everything here is made from scratch and seasoned and cooked to perfection. When we crave Chinese food, we come here. No doubt about it. Great service and plenty of parking too!

I've been meaning to try Golden Garden and finally tried it last night for takeout. I was pleasantly surprised with the yummy choices I made: Leek Pie, Beef Peking Ravioli, Pork Fried Rice, Boneless Spareribs, Beef with Scallions, Shanghai Greens with Garlic, and Kimchi. Next time I'll have to try the Calamari and the Luffa!

I arrived and hot tea was at the table. Nice! The menu is extensive so I took some time. I ordered chef's special lo mein. It was delicious. The TV is playing a Chinese program so I could practice but I don't know the language. The restaurant is sparse on Sunday evening so relaxed. My food was good and a nice portion so I have tomorrow's lunch. The restroom was clean.

I forgot how swanky looking the place was, and that still impressed. -- Egg Rolls: Cradled in a wicker basket, crisp on the outside, celery, and pork on the inside, a bit dry, but good flavor. A little above average. -- Spare Ribs on the bone: Painted on every surface with a nice char to complement the glaze. A thicker cut than most. Just like last time, they looked like a reheat, but still had very good texture (tender, moist) and decent enough flavor. Above average. -- Pork Egg Foo Yong: A trio of thick patties flooded with light brown sauce. Good crispness underneath. Soft and tender with big chunks of pork that wasn't dried out. Good overall flavor from the fry, the onions, and the pork, as well as the sauce. Near-elite to elite. -- Kung Pao Chicken: A little different here, with much larger shreds of chicken, a little darker than most, less celery and peanuts than most, a profusion of peppers, and pleasing spiciness to the soy-based sauce. Very enjoyable. Above average to well above average. -- Peking Noodles: A little different, and in a good way. More of a fine shred than a crumble, much spicier, and a little gloppier. Good feel to the egg noodles. I don't get this dish often enough to compare, but I enjoyed it. No OMG moments, but no complaints. Solid lunch, flavorful entrees, and I departed with a higher opinion than before. Upping to 4 stars.

The minion bao did not have the proper decorations. It did not look like a minion. 3. The durian swans do not taste like they use real durian. The flavor is not there, and there is no stringiness that real durian has. It's also really overpriced. 4. Some dishes took really long. 20+ minutes

Got a large variety of dim sum items and it all came out pretty quickly. My favorites were the chicken feet, tripe, shrimp and chive dumplings and salty egg yolk charcoal lava bun! The steamed tripe was super flavorful in a ginger onion sauce and all the shrimp items were really great with plenty of filling. We got both the regular steamed salty egg yolk lava buns and the charcoal one and I have to say, you gotta get the charcoal buns as the filling is way more flavorful and has that runny, ooey gooey texture I love! Parking can be tricky in downtown Malden but there is a parking lot in the back or metered street parking if you can find a space.

Friendly service. -- Chongqing Style Spicy Chicken: The classic dish with as many red chile peppers as bite-sized chicken nuggets. Smaller pieces than most, but crisp without being dry, and full of flavor even beyond the spice. Solid. -- Crispy Fried Pork W/ Sweet Sour Sauce: This isn't your daddy's old school Chinese American sweet and sour, and that's a good thing. But first, the pork: thin, flat slices with an even thinner batter reminiscent of tempura-- so light and crispy it crackled like broken glass. The sauce had syrup consistency, golden color instead of the old school red, and more sour than sweet. A spectacular dish if you like sweet and sour, and a good one even if you don't. -- Sautéed Pork Belly with Hot Pepper: Firm slices of pork with so little fat you can eat the whole thing without inspection. The hot peppers weren't so hot, so while this was enjoyable as a simple pork and vegetable dish, it had no spicy flavor pizzaz suggested in the name and evident in similar examples elsewhere. On the other hand, it did have pleasant black bean flavor. -- Sautéed Shredded Beef With Long Horn Pepper: Numerous slivers of tender beef with more of an understated thin gravy than sauce, with the peppers crisp but not that peppery. Mild but substantial. Bonus points for all of the following: - The server coming back and double checking to make sure we still wanted a dish we ordered after letting us know it was cold. - A tablet on the table with the menu showing photos of every dish to assist in ordering decisions. - A municipal parking lot across the street. - Cute branded takeout bags.

It was fried perfectly and didn't come out soggy even with the sauce on it. I would definitely come back to try more dishes.
