I found it to be a fairly decent buffet. For $19.95 you will have plenty of options to fill you up. I enjoyed the hibachi and selecting my own vegetables, protein and condiments. That alone is worth the price of the buffet. Unfortunately mine was slightly overcooked as they have one grill station and mine was the first. I still enjoyed it. As for options, I liked the clams, fried sweet plantain and some of the dessert options. My partner said that the ribs and chicken teriyaki were good. He found some of the fried items to be soggy. We wondered if because of the steam coming from the hot water keeping items warm. Your plates get cleaned/removed fast and the servers were friendly.

Sample of the offered sushi; notice the piece on the left falling apart and the lack of filling in the piece below it.

Standard buffet fare with a price beyond reasonable for good reason. Roughly $14 grants one access to several rows of Chinese and American entrées, a low-grade sushi bar, and a hibachi grill that offers made to order plates with a wide variety of options. Prior to this visit I had never been to a Flaming Grill, and sure didn't know it was a chain, but wanted to give it a go despite less than tepid reviews. I've been craving a Chinese buffet for months now and this little quick fix helped soothe me over while I continue the hunt for something more...up to par. Unimpressed the second I walked in, the dining room was dimly lit and jarringly loud. However, it wasn't the chatter of dining patrons that filled the room with ear-aching ambient noise, but the silly, little, playful waiters and waitresses running amuck yelling and shouting and being all playful and whatnot with one another. Despite this disagreeable first impression I was seated almost immediately and browsing the steaming food trays within minutes. All the expected standards were there, sure, but more importantly the American dining row was full of options my kids would devour. French fries, pizza, chicken, and other kid-friendly alternatives confirmed, I would have eventually brought my kids here if it weren't for the rest of the experience. It's not that the food wasn't good, it just wasn't anything worth writing home about. A lot of the trays were next to empty, nothing was labeled right, I was dismissed when asked what was what, and the one bite of American food I tried was cold as ice. Now, from afar the sushi bar looked phenomenal! Up close though? It turned out to be basic cream cheese and imitation crab standards. A few fishy delights stood out, but the slices were stuck together and picking one up with the tongs proved to be detrimental to the makeup of the roll. Most of the pieces fell apart upon the slightest touch and when I did try to separate one, as it fell to pieces, the sushi "chef" shouted at me to "be careful! Careful!" Seriously?!? It's a $14 buffet and the quality showed through in the price. It tasted fairly fresh but I'd rather spend my money on rolls at the local Stop & Shop. I didn't try the hibachi and I regret that. Some of the plates I saw carried away from there looked absolutely mouthwatering. Maybe next time. My table was kept clear, my water always full, and my waitress very attentive and congenial. Generally speaking, I just didn't care for the overwhelming background noise, the subdued lighting, or the rude as hell guy in the Boston cap preparing the deteriorating sushi rolls.

    Restroom doors lol.

Before heading back home my family decided to have lunch here. There were a lot of different food choices. For example they had sushi, hibachi, desserts, fruits, seafood, & plenty more. Some dishes weren't as flavorful as others. We got full really fast but it's a good spot for a large group to go too.

My dad comes here often. I've been here about 4 times since they first open. The host kid that seated us was super nice. They got your basic hot food, salad bar, deserts, a sushi section, and hibachi. Their sushi doesn't have any fancy rolls, I can't even remember seeing any rolls containing raw fish. Their food tastes decent. A variety of ice cream selections. Good amount of different kinds of fruits. My brother paid my bill so I have no idea the cost.

This place was so bad; the workers had very poor service and they had an attitude. The bathrooms are unsanitary and the food was not fresh.

While food quality on its own is 'meh,' I can confidently say you get more than you pay for! When it comes to food quality, this is mediocre. The General Tso's chicken was great, though that is to be expected with an item heavy on salt, sugar, and fat; almost everything else is instantly forgettable. The sushi, for example, was on the low-tier of supermarket. At the same time, I do want to call out that there was nothing I tried so awful I spat it out. However, in a high volume, ultra-low cost spot, all non-catastrophic quality issues are immediately forgivable. Now, while Flaming Grill doesn't have everything under the sun, the variety is excellent! There are Asian, American, and Japanese dishes, as well as a salad and dessert bar, plus hibachi. While you will not find any oysters on the half-shell, I can confidently say there is something for everyone. Even with my voracious appetite and taking a small amount of what looked interesting to me, I was unable to try everything. When it comes to the service, considering the buffet nature, it was just fine. I absolutely want to award some credit as it was attentive enough that when I moved on to dessert, they knew to bring the check. As for outside my table, food items were kept refilled, as I saw nothing nearly empty. Everything was also kept clean, and no cleanliness issues were noticed. Final verdict: Unfortunately, my taste run a little more fancy than Flaming Grill & Buffet, but that is not an issue with the eatery, but a fact of my becoming bougie? I think? That said, when I find myself in MA, and waiting for the Rental Tesla to charge across the street before returning it, you can bet your serving spoon I will be coming back.

Thankfully this buffet popped up and we decided to give it a shot. On the smaller side compared to some buffets I have gone to but despite that have a good variety of options. At least enough that everyone in your party should find something. Lots of drink options including some boba milk tea. The tables are adorned with beautiful artwork which was a nice touch and staff was friendly. The biggest negative was a majority of the food being closer to cold than hot and warm. This was disappointing due to us being there at what seemed like a busy time. Also along the lines of the food nothing we had really wowed us either. I would best describe it all as average hence the three stars. The prices were reasonable with the pina colada being under 10, that was a surprise. Overall, if you are like my wife and I, looking for a quick bite without a wait this may be your spot to check out.

It's a popular choice for group dinners, especially with friends or classmates looking for a filling, social meal. The space is modern and energetic, with individual burners built into each table for a more personal hot pot experience. It gets busy during dinner hours and weekends, but the atmosphere adds to the fun, communal feel. Service is generally attentive, with staff bringing out orders steadily and checking in to swap broths or refill items as needed. The menu offers a good variety of thinly sliced beef, pork, chicken, seafood, and classic hot pot additions like fish balls, tofu, mushrooms, and leafy greens. The meat quality is solid for AYCE, and portions come out quickly enough to keep the meal moving. Broth options range from lighter house broths to spicier selections, letting you customize the experience to your preference. While it may not be the most premium hot pot in the area, the value is strong for the price point, and the unlimited format makes it easy to try a bit of everything. Overall, Blue Sakura is a reliable AYCE hot pot destination in Allston, great for casual group outings, celebrations, or whenever you're craving a big, comforting meal.

We were given an iPad and, since it was our first time here, they explained to us how you can order anything in the iPad (including the broth) and they'd bring it straight to the table. The menu has a ton of options, ranging from appetizers to vegetables, noodles, proteins for the hot pot, plus lots of beverages and snacks (including ice cream). You're given a 90-minute limit, which is more than enough time, especially because the service is incredibly fast. Pro tip: order your broth and a few starter items first, then decide what else you want. We took forever deciding what we wanted and then everything showed up at once, which was overwhelming. It's much better to order in small batches so you can pace yourself, figure out what you want to try, and avoid ordering more food than you can possibly eat. We liked it a lot and will certainly be back!
