General Gaus Chicken - A white ceramic bowl holds sweet and sour chicken pieces covered in a glossy sauce, with a few broccoli florets on the side. The bowl is placed on a white tablecloth, with a metal spoon resting inside. The background includes a dark seating area and a white napkin, indicating a restaurant setting.

I purposely went out of my way on Saturday to have dinner here with my family. We were kind of in the area, but I definitely diverted from I-93. I went here years back so I wanted to see if they still had it. Street parking is the best bet and you could get lucky like we did with a spot on the same street. If you don't mind a walk there seemed to be plenty of open meters on Main Street. We arrived at 6pm and it was busy but still plenty of tables. The decor was cute and our waiter was so attentive. The food came out hot, quick, and everything was delicious. We ordered the sampler, pork lo mein, general gao's chicken, an order of the crab Rangoon, and crispy chicken wings. My kids loved everything too, which was a major win. Everything had flavor and both the wings and general gao's chicken were crispy, despite it having sauce. The crab rangoon was crispy and full of crab inside so that was a huge plus. The food was so good that I'd do it all again. I truly cannot wait to go back!

Mongolian Sesame Beef - A white ceramic bowl holds Mongolian sesame beef, featuring dark, sauced beef strips garnished with sesame seeds. Fresh broccoli florets are placed on the side of the bowl. The dish is set on a white tablecloth, with part of a person's arm and a tattoo visible in the background, indicating a dining setting at a restaurant.

ehhhh. this place used to be great, not so much anymore. ordered a bunch of stuff. the salt and pepper soft shell crab was tasty, just wish the peppers and stuff were on the actual seafood instead of under it. it could have definitely used more crab considering it was almost 30$ for the app. the crispy duck was dry dry dry-extremely overcooked. the wraps it comes with were dry as well- not impressed at all. the general gau chicken was good actually i liked the flavor and the little bit of kick it had. although, very salty and i woke up the next day feeling like i was hungover (from all the salt and msg). the sushi roll was fine, can't really mess up a basic roll. the miso soup and edamame were fine too, hard to mess it up! the service was good, our waitress was soo nice! i just wish they would be more reasonable with the prices to reflect on the portions and the quality of the food, as the portions were lacking & the quality of some of things we ordered were not amazing or worth the price.

Scallop Rock & Roll Maki - A sushi roll topped with shredded meat, microgreens, and a small amount of orange fish roe, garnished with lemon slices. The plate features decorative drizzles of dark sauce, possibly balsamic or chocolate, arranged in a pattern around the sushi. The presentation emphasizes a fusion of flavors and artistic plating.

The sushi here is superb. We had the Scallop Rock & Roll specialty to start along with the Sea to You - both were delicious. I liked the Scallop one best because it is topped with melted cheese. The waitress recommended the Torched Salmon Maki and we had to try it after the first two rolls exceeded our expectations and I am glad we did. The Torched Salmon was warm and filled with flavor. I would go back and order all of the same rolls again. The staff is attentive and they all work together to provide the best service. We did not get any cocktails but the restaurant does appear to have a full bar. There is plenty of seating and this place is located in the popular part of Medford among other great restaurants. There was plenty of street parking but there is also a small lot across the street.

Chicken Fingers L-Kung Pao Pork - The image shows a dark-colored restaurant table with two glasses of beer, a plate of sliced meat, and a bowl of soup with breadsticks. The background features a bar area with shelves, kitchen equipment, and a person in a red shirt. The setting appears to be a casual dining environment with a bar and kitchen visible behind the table.

The food, service, and ambiance was amazing. I will say, however, that their drinks aren't that great. Every time I go there, I get a different Polynesian cocktail, and I'm never happy with any of them. My boyfriend feels the same. This in no way deters me from dining there, however! The food is terrific!

Mango Shrimp - A dish featuring stir-fried seafood and vegetables, including shrimp, green peppers, and bamboo shoots, is presented in a carved-out melon bowl. The table setting includes a glass of water, rice, and other dishes, indicating a restaurant dining environment.

Arrived on a busy Sat night and got seated within 5 mins. Service was prompt and friendly. Loved the menu options. Three of us started with the Gyoshi pork dumplings and BBQ ribs with honey. Entrees were teriyaki chicken, Yaki Udon and Mango Shrimp. All very good. Two orders to finish the evening off. Steady stream of people coming in so a popular location.

While on the smaller scale, there is an eclectic feel to the decor that makes it homey and feel like a family restaurant. The crowd varies from families to couples to groups of friends, making it a place for everyone. The service is extremely friendly and attentive, and likely one of the reasons I'd come back. We wanted to order lemon chuhai but saw it wasnt on the menu - when we asked our waitress which drink would be the closest to this, she actually told us she'd have the bartender just make it for us with lemon instead. This is just one example of how friendly the staff is. In terms of food, while pricey I did find it to be worth the value. We ordered the Thai basil stir fry with chicken which was tender and had an array of flavors and textures. We also the wagyu rice as the meat was tender, and the egg added a nice flavor. Lastly we had the A5 miyazaki zabuton- this we were able to cook ourselves and felt worth the price tag. The flavor and quality of the meat were delicious. Overall this was a fun experience with excellent service.

If you're looking for a solid weekday lunch spot, this is definitely worth a visit. For non-alcoholic drinks, the coconut matcha clouds is a must order. Super refreshing from the coconut juice with a nice creamy matcha foam on top. Really well balanced and not overly sweet. We ordered several dishes to share: Baked scallops with tom yum sauce - usually one of my favorites, but this version had too much cheese, which overpowered the flavor of the dish. Uni&wagyu toast: perfect bite if you love both Wagyu and uni! Monkfish liver - creamy, rich, and surprisingly clean tasting with no fishiness. Also reasonably priced. Picanha fried rice - the standout dish and the reason I keep coming back. Easily one of the best fried rice dishes I've had. The meat was perfectly cooked and paired beautifully with the rice. Torched salmon roll - tasty overall, but quite heavy, so good to share. Service is straightforward and efficient. Overall a great spot for catching up with friends or an easy date night.

I don't usually like the fatty chashu ramens come with, so this was perfect for me. Very lean yet tender. Spring onions were slightly blanched - so not awfully "spicy". The other toppings were fantastic too! The soup base was tasty. Noodles were were very thin and can tell they were hand made. Service: absolutely amazing! I order my food early but couldn't pick up until 20 minutes later. When I walked in, I told the owner I wanted to pay now but pick up in 20 mins. He hesitated and I apologized for the inconvenience. He said it's not a problem at all, he was thinking the noodles would be soggy so it wouldn't be the best taste. So he said he can wait until I come back to prepare it in a minute for me to pickup. This type of service is incredible! I came back 20 min and he went to prepare my noodles right away. To show my appreciation, I ate it in the car ride home (I was passenger). It was so good!! The menma sometimes are soggy but can be adequately crunchy. Their pork also didn't feel amazing but they were good. While every piece of ingredients were just so-so, there's something from the combinations that really made it feel home-y. I think the broth in particular was quite clear and "refreshing" compared to other ramens we have. Service/wait-time/cleanliness (1.5/2): Service was very courteous and friendly. Wait-time can be hit or miss depending on the time. The place was decently clean though I notice occasionally missed-spots here and there. Price (0.5/1): For the price they charge, I think it was pretty good. Definitely will come back whenever I'm craving home-y ramen but will not go out of my way for them.

What I can remember is that all the food had great visual appeal. Additionally, the flavors from the main ingredient, sauce, and condiments were artfully balanced. I felt that none of the ingredients in the dishes I ordered were decorative. My only minor disappointment is the small portion (though I get that US portions are typically giant...). Service/wait-time/cleanliness (1.5/2): Great service even if there was only 1-2 waiters. Wait-time is decent. Cleanliness is impeccable. One minor negative is the positioning of some of the table that sees the fan above them--the fan sits just below the light bulb and creates a "strobe-light" effect at night. This was incredibly disturbing for me and I had to face diagonally downwards most of the time to avoid the flickering at the top-corner of my eyes. Price (0.5/1): As much as I love what they've created, I just feel the price for the portion we receive is on the expensive side. Rounded to 4 because I love the place.

I always like to eat spicy so of course I got the Kyushu Spicy Tonkatsu Ramen. As always, broth is so flavorful with the perfect amount of spice. The ramen texture is my favorite, good amount of softness and waviness. The boiled egg is marinated just right, not too salty or sweet. The chashu pork is tender. The flavor reminds me of the Chinese chili oil sweet potato noodles, very spicy, kind of salty, and a strong taste of vinegar. I love snacking on it.
