The service was incredible and everyone was so welcoming and the food and drinks were amazing. We were visiting from out of town and heard about this place so we decided to give it a try. The yellow tail, spider roll, and beef was definitely our favorite! Definitely a must visit here.

Based on the reviews this place seems to be hit or miss. Our regular Chinese restaurant is closed on Mondays so we decided to give Sei Bar a try ( we love the Everett location but it's too far for takeout). Portions are smaller than other places, but the food we got more than made up for it. Everything was fresh and tasted good. The pork fried rice really highlighted the pride and effort they take in their food, it was loaded with additional veggies. Chicken wings were a good size, well seasoned and well fried. The boneless ribs were tasty but too fatty for me, definitely need to trim off more of the fat but others may like that. Overall a decent option with good food and fast service. 3 stars instead of 4 because it's on the pricier side for takeout.

Picked up from this place for dinner and it was alright. We also drive by this place every week but never really noticed it until today and decided to give it a try since we're in a sushi mood. We got sushi duh and they're ok, no complaints except for the spicy scallop makis (they tasted a lil odd). We gave this place a 4/5 because 1. their spicy chicken wings aint spicy, it's saucey and sweet and we didn't know how to feel. 2. the spicy avocado salad which I was excited for, had more cucumbers than anything else (I was craving imitation crabmeat:( ) and yea it's a place that doesn't really focus on serving sushi & just Japanese cuisine. They also offer Chinese and Thai and Pan Asian dishes so next time, when we're in the mood for solidly sushi, we'd try another place.

Gyoza. They were so bad. Tasted like the ones from supermarket. Barely had any meat.

I understand inflation, but businesses are not the only ones hurting. People also work hard for their money and so the expectations are still high. If you go up on prices but still deliver great quality food, I'm okay with paying the extra bucks. But come on! I am disappointed at the food quality that Seibar is providing. Their prices are up and their Ingredients are less. A huge disappointment. I spend about $25.00 on a Medford roll and gyoza. The roll was skimpy and full of tempura crumbs just a few strings of crab meat. The gyoza was the same quality as a super market. I should have learned from the last time I ordered, but I had faith today the food was going to be excellent like it used to be.

Over the years we have ordered from Sei Bar Medford less and less frequently. In general the sushi and the cold sesame noodles were the only consistently good food. Last Sunday night, in an effort to support local business, we ordered some sushi, some cold sesame noodles, and some chicken broccoli for the kiddo. The food was less than mediocre. Sushi wasn't fresh and was seemingly hacked apart w a butter knife. But the kicker came when we found a cockroach in my daughters bowl of chicken broccoli. A COCKROACH. I called and they said they would refund, but then they didn't and I had to have GrubHub get in touch with them to process the refund. Wouldn't have ordered again based just on the food, but with the roach I feel (sadly) compelled to write a review.

Decided to give this local place a try during covid since it had a 4.8/5 on doordash. Have tried numerous sushi spots in the area and every single one is better than this. Absolute bottom barrel expired garbage. Would be shocked if I don't get sick from eating it. Sushi is not fresh, presentation is appalling. $50 for 3 disgusting rolls(Idaho, Medford, crazy) and microwaved vegetable rolls. Plastic bag soy sauce and rotting ginger provided complimentary.

Tried it for Uber Eats tonight and I don't think it was all the restaurants fault - my order was very delayed so my crab Rangoon was cold. I imagine it'd be great warm. Unfortunately I'm most upset that a "roll" of sushi is 4 pieces!! 4!!! That is not acceptable. I asked to add cream cheese, they did not. Avocado was brown, the whole thing wasn't good.

    Metal in my food.

Fish cakes were small and perfectly uniform - almost like they were frozen rather than prepared on site. Green curry had some spice but was mostly one note, there just wasn't much depth of flavor. Vegetables were all cut in huge hunks - both dishes had giant pieces of red bell peppers and onions. Fried rice was pretty bland and barely had any Chinese broccoli in it. Ambiance was bare bones - you order at the counter and they bring you your food and plastic side plates. Half the tables were stacked with boxes and bags of takeout orders. To top it off there's no bathroom, we were told to use the bathroom at another local business. If I'm gonna spend $60 somewhere, I expect to be able to wash my hands before eating and use the restroom. Perhaps there are some specialty dishes that we didn't try but this was my 2nd time ordering from here (I got take out once before) and both times the food was pretty bland. A truly underwhelming experience - especially when there are so many better restaurants in the area.

Basil chicken fried rice - spicy good flavor overall and chicken was plenty. I ordered a clear soup ($7) to start that comes with tofu and veggies, and a house curry with vegan duck ($19). Both came out in about 5 minutes. The soup was forgettable, pretty bland, but at least veggies. The broth was extremely gentle, slightly garlicky but otherwise boring. The curry, however, was well-done. It came with broccoli, red and green pepper, and carrot, with plenty of vegan duck that had great texture. Not the most complex or decadent curry, but well done. Very friendly, hospitable and accommodating stuff. Very good spot for vegan-friendly Thai in Malden.

We got Thaiger's Cloud Tea and mango sticky rice drink to start. We didn't order any appetizers this visit & instead focused on getting some entrees, plus a soup to share. We got the tom yum (shareable soup, enough for 3) & two entrees: Jaew Glazed rice with A5 Wagyu Steak & roasted curry with flat iron steak. The drinks were great! Not too sweet, just right. The tom yum soup was DELICIOUS. So much flavor & the lemongrass & galangal flavors were very apparent. Luckily, I do enjoy lemongrass! They ran out of their large prawns this day, so they substituted it for more jumbo shrimp. I would definitely get this again. Very good. For the Jaew glazed rice, with chose the A5 wagyu. The wagyu was torched in front of us, so that was cool. I believe this was likely American wagyu (since it wasn't specified on the menu I think?) but it only came with ~3 big cut slices but as expected for the price. Flavor was pretty good, not sure if would get it again though. My favorite was the roasted curry with flat iron steak! This was the dish I personally had and it was right up my alley. The curry had spinach mixed in & my steak was cooked how I wanted it, so I was a happy gal! I requested for sticky rice as my choice of rice and initially was given regular white rice. Once I told one of the staff members passing by, I was able to make the swap for the sticky rice. I LOVE STICKY RICE! It was the perfect pairing with the curry and steak. Their food is a little bit pricey but I think it's worth a try if you're looking for a more elevated Thai dining experience. I'd come back again to try some more of their dishes. The restaurant is very clean, including their bathrooms. They even have bidets, ha! Parking: there is street parking & municipal parking nearby.
