Came here just for the mango sticky rice. I've never had mango sticky rice before but this was phenomenal. The ice cream is perfect texture not too hard not too soft and doesn't taste overpowering of coconut. The whip cream and mangos were perfect and the rice was shaped in a heart. The coconut cream is good to drizzle too. Worth going to just for dessert. Staff is super nice and decor is amazing. Will revisit for other dishes. read more

After having a wonderful dining experience at their sister location, Crying Thaiger, we decided to try Thaiger Den for dinner the other day. We got Thaiger's Cloud Tea and mango sticky rice drink to start. We didn't order any appetizers this visit & instead focused on getting some entrees, plus a soup to share. We got the tom yum (shareable soup, enough for 3) & two entrees: Jaew Glazed rice with A5 Wagyu Steak & roasted curry with flat iron steak. The drinks were great! Not too sweet, just right. The tom yum soup was DELICIOUS. So much flavor & the lemongrass & galangal flavors were very apparent. Luckily, I do enjoy lemongrass! They ran out of their large prawns this day, so they substituted it for more jumbo shrimp. I would definitely get this again. Very good. For the Jaew glazed rice, with chose the A5 wagyu. The wagyu was torched in front of us, so that was cool. I believe this was likely American wagyu (since it wasn't specified on the menu I think?) but it only came with ~3 big cut slices but as expected for the price. Flavor was pretty good, not sure if would get it again though. My favorite was the roasted curry with flat iron steak! This was the dish I personally had and it was right up my alley. The curry had spinach mixed in & my steak was cooked how I wanted it, so I was a happy gal! I requested for sticky rice as my choice of rice and initially was given regular white rice. Once I told one of the staff members passing by, I was able to make the swap for the sticky rice. I LOVE STICKY RICE! It was the perfect pairing with the curry and steak. Their food is a little bit pricey but I think it's worth a try if you're looking for a more elevated Thai dining experience. I'd come back again to try some more of their dishes. I had been wanting to come here for some time, and glad I finally had the chance to! I ordered the Thaiger claw as a drink which is a mojito without mint. Refreshing, but with so many cocktails on the menu, I'd likely try something else next time. Before getting into the food, I will say I really appreciated the display of the food and the little touches that made it feel like an elevated dining experience. For instance, the khao soy curry comes in a teapot that you pour over your noodles and chicken, and the A5 wagyu is flamed at the table so you can determine your preference level. The khao soy was delicious with a creamy broth that was flavorful and hearty. The sous vide chicken also made the dish feel a bit more healthy than usual khao soy. There were a good portion of noodles that were firm enough to be enjoyed despite all the broth. My only caveat is that this is a pretty spicy dish and even when I asked for mild it still had a kick to it. Delicious but spicy so I ordered a side of rice but overall it's so delicious that I'd still order it again. My husband's rice was also really flavorful and well balanced between the meat and the rice. Each bite felt like a nice combination of the two elements. The servers were also friendly and while it could be hard to get someone to come by at times, we were also there during peak dinner hours. This place gets pretty busy and often has groups so I highly recommend making a reservation. Even for just two diners I made a reservation and was glad I did. The restaurant heavily leans into the tiger theme which is also fun to see the different elements of it from decor to the staff's attire. Thaiger Den is an upscale Thai restaurant. It has a fun, chic and modern atmosphere, and the service is absolutely impeccable. Without a reservation, the wait was about an hour on a Saturday night, but it was so worth it. The Thai tea was one of the best I've ever had not overly sweet and topped with a milk cold foam giving it a rich and creamy texture. The Massaman Pot Pie was both unique and comforting. The crust was crispy and flaky, and the beef and vegetables inside were savory and full of flavor. The steak Pad Thai took a bit longer to arrive but when it did, the steak, which we ordered medium rare was well done. Our server offered to replace it, but since my daughter was tired and hungry, we decided to keep it. As a kind gesture, they brought us a complimentary Thai Tea Panna Cotta for dessert. The dishes were really yummy, and even though I'm not a fan of spice, my friends who ordered spicy food said it was so good. Thaiger Den has gotten glowing praise since opening, and I can validate now that it is worth all the praise and doting that it has been receiving. My only regret is that it took us so long to get there to try it out. The first difference between TDen and some of the other highly touted Thai restaurants is the location. It's a bit out of the bustle of Boston/Somerville/Cambridge, which can feel like it has been a bit forgotten by the critics and blogs. However, the richness of the decor and menu shows that it falls more into the neighborhood gem that is well worth the trip to experience what I've been told is a true and authentic Thai experience (never been, and not Thai myself). The next is there are a number of dishes that I have never seen on the Thai restaurants that I frequent, so there is a deeper offering of the various regional dishes offered throughout the country. But depth or number of offerings/dishes doesn't make somewhere great... your average TexMex place shows that. Everything here is perfectly executed without overuse of oil or seasoning that makes the dish inedible, which can be the case when dealing with a spicy cuisine like Thai can be. So you can have confidence when you order something from the menu it will be as described (spicy or not) and amazingly executed. All of this is all for naught if service is crap, but the service is amazing. It falls somewhere between smothering and average, as if the server knows exactly when you need something or to follow up. This is indeed an art vs. a science, and they have crafted experts in the field. TDen is an establishment that should remain to be added to your rotation or list of places to visit for all the reasons above, but there is also the point of the value proposition that makes it feel like a higher end eatery than the price point. I love this new spot in Malden! Although its an upscale restaurant, the food here is fairly priced for the quality and portion size. The dishes are family style and can be shared among multiple people. Every dish was very tasty and unique. The star of the show was definitely the RIBEYE STEAK. It comes out smoked and it was cooked a perfect medium rare. I love the seasoning on it and the sauce on the side goes so well with the steak and the veggies. The IRON STEAK PAD THAI was so flavorful and its a very good pad thai because it was not greasy and the sauce was evenly mixed into all the noodles. The PORK CHEEK was also a surprising favorite! It was so rich and smooth and I really enjoyed it. I think its my first time having pork cheek and it didn't disappoint! Overall, every item we tried was so so good. An amazing, elevated Thai dining experience! We made reservations online a week prior. The interior is well decorated and elegant compared to your everyday Thai restaurant. The servers were also great, recommending dishes and thoroughly explaining their extensive menu. We ordered the following dishes: -Roasted Tomato Relish (Nam Prik): Delicious and a great, crunchy starter. The tomato dip was nicely smoky and spicy. -Sous Vide Beef Tongue: So tender! Would highly recommend if you like beef tongue. -Roasted Curry with Flat Iron Steak: Very flavorful and deliciously paired with the accompanying berry rice. The steak itself is okay but the spinach curry is a show stopper. -Khao Soi with Beef Shank: Beautiful, al dente noodles complemented by a savory, coconuty broth. The pad thai was delicious, with a really generous portion size and great flavor. The real highlight of the night was the steak and curry. The steak itself was cooked perfectly, really tender and juicy. It went amazingly well with the rich curry. The curry had a slight, building kick to it that paired perfectly with rice and brought the whole dish together. We ended the meal with the mango sticky rice for dessert. It was presented beautifully with the rice shaped into a heart, and it tasted perfect, with it being not too sweet at all. The scoop of ice cream on the side paired with it really well. I've always been a fan of Crying Thiager in Malden and have been wanting to try out this new sister restaurant for months. Thaiger Den presents itself as an upscale modern Thai restaurant and a lot of the items on their menu are partially sous vide, torched, or grilled on charcoal. They also use a lot of superior ingredients on their menu like A5 Waygu, tiger shrimp, jumbo prawns, pork cheek, and tomalley. Most entrees on the menu were $20-30 which isn't bad at all considering the ingredients they were using and the experience. If there's a *MUST* order dish that i think you should get here, it is their "Den Pad Thai". They make their pad thai with shrimp tomalley and it makes a huge difference! I personally love shrimp so i was very happy with the subtle shirmp notes in each bite. Their Pad Thai also comes with a charcoal grilled jumbo prawn and it was amazing! I usually don't care much for Pad Thai but i really enjoyed it here. The restaurant is located a few minutes walk from Malden Center Station on the Orange line. There is also street parking right outside the restaurant or you can park at the Jackson Street Municipal Garage Lot for $2 an hour (a quick 2 minutes walk from the restaurant). read more

Street parking only but there are plenty of garages close by that sometimes offer free parking on the weekends. SPACE: The space itself is fairly large and has such cozy vibes. Perfect for date night or a girls night out! FOOD: Please get the beef tongue - it's easily the best dish here! It's so tender and flavorful! If you're looking for something refreshing, the tossed crab rice is delicious and a great contrast to their other heavy dishes. The wagyu Khao Soi had the perfect amount of flavorful and a surprising favorite of mine. The signature pad Thai with the giant prawn was just okay to me - I think the noodles itself were great but the prawn was overcooked. Finally, the pork jowl was cooked to perfection and delicious! DRINKS: Thai Tea Cloud Foam is a fancy of way of renaming Thai tea but it's probably one of the best Thai teas I've had - it was perfectly creamy and so smooth! DESSERT: We opted for the Thai Tea Panna Cotta and that didn't disappoint. The flavor of the Thai tea came out strong in the cream but subtle in the panna cotta itself. Thaiger Den is a new upscale Thai restaurants located at 157 Pleasant Street in Malden. This is the second sister restaurant of a soon to be trio of restaurants in Malden by the same owner of Crying Thaiger. The third restaurant will serve sushi and hot pot I am told, no opening date set other than a 2025 opening. I came here with my in laws on my first visit and with my husband and children. My second visit was with my brother and mother for her birthday. Everything we have ordered so far has been excellent. One of the appetizers, the beef tongue, was very tender and the portion made it a good appetizer to share. You don't want more than two pieces really. You can skip this dish if you are not a fan of beef tongue. The flat iron steak with spinach curry was so good. I highly recommend this. The sauce is so creamy and delicious. It goes great with a little rice. The steamed branzino was tasty. I have also tried the crispy branzino version. Both were excellent. The fried version is very clean tasting and not oily at all. However, I would pick the steamed version. The crab curry is one of my favorite and I have now ordered it twice during both of my visits thus far. This dish is beautifully presented. The curry is served with blue rice noodle and crunchy vegetables accompaniment. You can dip the noodles into the bowl of curry or add noodles to your plate and drizzle the sauce on top. I have tried now the pad thai two ways. The first being the traditional shrimp pad Thai version and the second being the flat iron steak pad Thai. The steak was cooked perfectly. If I had to chose, I would pick the shrimp version. As for dessert, I have only tried the mango sticky rice. A great dessert to share as well. The coconut ice cream was my favorite part of this dessert. If I had to pick something that I did not enjoy, it would be the tom yum soup. It had a slight bitter aftertaste. This was my brother's favorite dish on another visit. It is perhaps a quality control issue. Though not a big fan of Crying Thaiger, I find myself a huge fan of Thaiger Den. Happened to wander in here last night and turns out it was during their soft opening. Loved the ambience and decor inside. Definitely more of an upscale type place so the menu wasn't all your typically Thai fare. I got the Jaew glazed rice with flank steak and my friend got the shrimp pad Thai. Definitely deserving of at least 4.5 stars! Although we thoroughly enjoyed our meal, the price is someone high for their elevated Thai food. Nonetheless they are busy so I do recommend reservations! Perfection in every way! The same group that owns Crying Thaiger, Phat Thaiger and Zuru Zuru, has now introduced this upscale and authentic thai experience called Thaiger Den. The space is large, but advanced reservations are a must as this is a very popular spot. Creative and delicious drinks (alcohol and mocktails) are fantastic. Our go to starters are the Vegan Calamari (you must try to believe the magic they do either coconut!) and Fried Pork Belly (decadent!). We haven't had a dish that wasn't truly spectacular in taste, quality and presentation. The pork cheek was a new dish my husband tried on our last visit and it was definitely a wow that we would have again. Their menu has something f9r every dietary need and preference. We had dinner here in their private room for a party of 14 and this place did not disappoint! I had family in town and was looking for a place that could accommodate us in a private room. I asked if they had one and they allowed me to use it without any additional room charge since they are still in their soft opening stage. The room is large with a bar and plenty of seating. From the start they suggested to pre order the food so it can be ready when we arrived and so happy we did that as we didn't have to wait long and the food came out one after the other. Everything tasted amazing and was great for sharing. We did order double of a few as we were a larger group. Super fun and enjoyable experience celebrating a birthday at Thaiger Den! This restaurant is very spacious and has a good amount of tables, but I would still recommend a reservation just in case. First off, all the servers and staff were incredibly nice and thoughtful, always asking if we wanted a picture together or grabbing plates out of the way immediately. They were prompt and delivered our dishes in a timely manner while constantly asking if we needed anything else. Regarding the drinks, I really enjoyed my nonalcoholic mango sticky rice drink, it was really sweet but tasted just like the dessert and even had a nice salty foam topping! After trying all the food we ordered, I really loved them all! If I had to pick a favorite, I would definitely choose the massaman curry pot pie; I loveddd the pie crust paired with the deliciously sweet and meaty curry. I could've easily eaten the whole thing myself. I also loved their crab curry. I ended up putting the crab curry on top of all my dishes! Lastly, the wagyu beef was another top dish of mine; it was so soft and easy to eat, and the sauce it came with was a little tangy and sweet, such a good pairing. The tom yum soup was also amazing but a little too spicy for me (we ordered medium spice level) but was still delicious and next time, I would just order a milder spice level for myself. I almost never leave Yelp reviews, but I gotta say, this place is excellent. I had the Khao soi made with beef shank, and it was super tasty! Just the right amount of spice to make me glow, the beef portion was incredibly tender (and generous), the noodles were perfect, and compared to a lot of places the price was reasonable. I finished up with the Black Panther, which is their take on an espresso martini, using premium Thai espresso. The coffee flavor was highlighted more than I'm used to, which is a huge plus for me because I love coffee. And the restaurant has such a fun vibe to it, they have cute and hilarious paintings of tigers all over the place (the one in their restroom is my favorite). Lilly, the bartender, was super sweet too. I'm brand new to the area, so she was giving me advice on the ins and outs of the public transit. And even though I stayed a little past closing time, she continued to give me the same level of hospitality, which is a big deal to me. In fact, everyone I interacted with was super gracious and kind. Will definitely be back! read more

Food was delicious!!! The cocktails were definitely Thai inspired. The Tom yum soup was so delicious and flavorful. Service was good although kind of slow. We kept asking for water. Parking is street parking but there is a garage 5 min walk for 2$ an hour so not bad. They do have delicious mocktails as well which is nice. The ambiance is upscale but also casual.
