I was disappointed in the past by this place's crab rangoons since they were basically wontons filled with carrots, but I decided to give it another chance because they had a discount code. I stayed away from the appetizers this time and got the shrimp basil fried rice and it was a winner. Shrimp Basil Fried Rice: The shrimp in this were pretty big, though there were only 5 of them. The actual rice was nice and flavored, and it had a small amount of spice when I had asked for less spice which was nice. Some places put too much veggies in their Thai fried rice, but this had just some onions and peppers that didn't end up distracting from the taste of the basil, though it was a tad on the greasy side. Still, this was a winner! I don't order Thai fried rice too often, but I'd get it from this place again when I have a craving - the normal dish is only $9.95, and it was only $1 more to upgrade to shrimp which is an incredible value. 4/5 stars! read more

I decided to give this place another shot, since they were running a promotion on GrubHub. I have not actually dined at Thai Hut in person, so I can't comment on the service or ambiance, but based on the menu, it seems to be more of a casual spot. They have all the staples, but nothing especially inventive. I ordered the Drunken Noodle, which I found to be just okay. The noodles had a nice consistency, but the dish itself was very greasy and the beef didn't seem to be of the best quality. However, they did include a decent amount of protein and vegetables. I can see this being the kind of Thai food you might want after a night of drinking, but I would definitely pick takeout from another place like Dakzen or Mad Monkfish over Thai Hut any day of the week. read more

It's frankly horrible, it's the worst crab Rangoon I've ever had. The veggies tempura appetizer is fantastic, with a lovely array of beautifully fried vegetables. The samosas appetizer is also great. The pad Thai is delicious. The thom ka soup is not great. It's one-note sour without any of the complexity I usually enjoy from thom ka. The pineapple fried rice is awesome. You might not expect much from this casual joint, with their no frills exterior, but they are a solid takeout option (I can only comment on the drunken noodles & Thai tea) for the area. I hate to have to give this place a two but after trying a number of their dishes I really only liked about one soup. The wonton soup was phenomenal as are their other soup options. I tried their pho soup and was not impressed, it was far too sweet. I also did not enjoy their chicken wings which were too hard. Pad Thai was not the best I have had either. The one item I have tried three different types of each are the fried rices and the noodles. They are over cooked with a burned smell I would say and too try and stick together noodles. I am so disappointed in the "CRAB RANGOON", the menu offers the ingredients of cream cheese and crab but when I got my order today . I bit into something that had no cream cheese and I'm sure it had no crab. The texture of the filling tasted like shredded carrots and had no base within the Rangoon. We brought this up to the lady who is there often and explained it was filled with AMERICAN CHEESE !! She didn't want to give an exchange or refund. I had a great experience ordering lunch combos to-go for a group at Thai Hut. I called over the phone to confirm that they were open on July 5 and then called again to place the order a few days in advance. It ended up being a little less than $80 total (everything included) for 7 combo meals (entree, rice, 2 sides, and a soup) which was very reasonable. I got the spicy shrimp pad see ew which had a good amount of succulent shrimp and came with an egg roll and a chicken skewer. The tom yum soup also had great flavor. I'm really glad that I went for this option rather than a lunch box from another establishment (sandwich, chips, cookie) that would have cost significantly more for less delicious food. The food was really well packaged and easy to distribute to everyone (all the food in one container, soup on the side). I have several friends who get the Thai Hut specials regularly and are big fans. After this experience, I'll definitely be back to try more of their food! The Portions were really good for the price, and the taste, while bit heavy on the sauce, was satisfying. When you order crab rangoon, your intention is to have the cream cheese filling mostly, right? There was absolutely no cream cheese at all! Everything was flavorful. Not a single leftover because it was so yummy. I have been looking for a good Thai place in the area and have usually been let down by grease level, flavor, or price. I had an aversion to this place for a couple of weird personal reasons... An ex lived around the corner in the late 1990's and we would sometimes get food from here. Fast forward 10 years to around 2010 and I had a friend who rented an adjacent apartment and the kitchen ventilation would blow right into her window and made everything smell so we never went there. Jump ahead to 2023 and Thai Hut suddenly appears in my extended DoorDash range. I ordered the drunken chicken which is what they are calling their grapow chicken. I also got the chicken satay. Both were phenomenally delicious. The DoorDash person also got it to my location way quicker than I expected. It was still hot! I expected it to be cooled down which wouldve still been fine as both items could easily be reheated. At any rate.. Thai Hut is now "on the list" as a go-to and I look forward to trying some noodle dishes. read more

Awesome lunch special! I didn't expect all that would come on the cute little platter, all for $8.95! This is one of those places I had driven by so many times, then thought to finally try. The outside isn't anything special. I've learned to look past that stuff and I keep finding hidden gems. I decided to go with the crazy noodles (drunken noodles) with a spring roll and satay. Along with that I was given some tasty soup and fresh cut melon. The crazy noodles were great. I love to get them at Thai restaurants then compare. These were up there. Spicy, not dry, generous chicken, lots of basil and peppers. A large amount considering other stuff was included. Mmm. The satay was also great. It had a curry tasting coating on it. Then the spring roll was satisfying. On the side there were 2 good dipping sauces. The fruit at the end was the perfect touch. The older gentleman took care of bringing me water and bringing my food over. He stood by to see if I needed anything while I ate. After I was almost done, the cook came from the back and asked me how everything was. What a nice touch. It was a warm family run place. The food tasted very authentic, not that I've been to Thailand but it did not taste like washed out Americanized Thai I've had at other places. The flavors of everything were great. First time I had Thai Hut rice was at a school dinner that they donated food to. It was so delicious. My daughter and I decided to order Tofu Fried Rice and Chicken Pad Thai one day. It was SO delicious!!! Had it delivered and the driver was friendly. We have since ordered on numerous occasions and twice were sent burnt rice. It was so much darker then what we had eaten before and it smelled really burnt. Just plain horrible (the food normally tastes great when it isn't burned). We also tried the Chicken Pho soup once. I ordered from Thai Hut last night because I was sick and my go to Thai restaurant (Lemon Thai) was closed. The food arrived 20 minutes late, but it tasted fine so I was content. Fast forward to today, I'm reheating the soup I ordered last night and I notice something floating in the container, so I spoon it out and it is a cockroach. Obviously I'm disgusted. Was I eating roaches?! So I contact grub hub since my phone is not working and I can't call the restaurant directly. Grub Hub chat was great but apparently they are limited in what they can do. The restaurant responded that they would only give a 20% refund for finding a cockroach in the food. That's $5 for the $20 I spent for a health code violation. Usually I don't use yelp, but I wrote this review just to warn future eaters to steer clear of this place. Thai Hut is a classic of Camberville for good reason--reliable, inexpensive, and filling! The portions are generous and all of the flavors are spot on. I'm especially a fan of their spicy crispy chicken, the spring rolls with peanut sauce, pad see ew, and the curries. Most entrees are $8-13, and it's a dollar or so extra for rice. When I worked nearby, I would come for the lunch specials from time to time also! They're a fantastic value. The restaurant itself is quite small with only three tables for diners, but this seems to work fine for them because they are mainly a takeout spot. I've still eaten there several times, but each time I was alone and wanted a quick meal. It's not a place I'd go with more than one other person because of how few tables there are, and there is also a pretty constant stream of people picking up, ordering, delivery people, etc. The service has been quite prompt every time I've eaten in, with the staff being especially attentive of filling my water. I've also ordered takeout from Thai Hut quite a bit, and it always is prepared super quickly and still hot when I get home and eat it. The foot also keeps well to be reheated the next day as leftovers. I will certainly keep it in the rotation for when I'm craving Thai flavors and don't want to cook! read more

This is that rarity in the Boston area: very good food at very good prices! And Thai food to boot, which is usually a bit overpriced compared to say, Vietnamese. The dining space is tiny, just 3 tables, so if you want to be sure of getting a seat you will need to call in for a reservation. But that's part of the quaint charm of this place, really...very cozy and pleasant inside. The actual food is not spectacular, but with generous portions and excellent prices, you can't really complain. The older lady who works here is a bit gruff compared to the young girl(s) who sometimes fill in for her. Service is not super fast, but the food gets to you in a reasonable time frame. I always get their "Drunken noodles" but their other dishes are good too, including some (gasp!) allegedly Vietnamese dishes. The fried noodles are a little on the oily side but nice and spicy, not dumbed down blandified tourist food. I've been ordering from this place for years because they have great standby Thai food (Pad Thai, pad see ew, etc) and they have good vegetarian options. Still, I never thought to write a review until I tried some of their less classic options. "Vietnamese soup" (which I assumed would be an odd starter-size pho) is actually an amazing clear broth veggie soup that I now crave weekly. They always have the food ready really quickly and pickup is smooth and easy. I've tried the pad see ew, green & red curries, drunken noodle, basil fried rice and they are all pretty good! The curry portion is big but it doesn't come with rice, which is a bit unusual. The prices are all reasonable as well.
