I had a great time at dakzen. They had extremely fast service with getting seated immediately and with foods coming in mins after we ordered. The Thai iced was a classic and satisfying my need. The crab Rangoon came out hot and was very crispy. I got the pad see ew with crispy chicken. It was delicious and I enjoyed having the chicken bite sized. The staff were very friendly with frequent check in. The decoration and ambiance of the restaurant was nice and aesthetic
Small Thai Food restaurant with a big delivery business. Dinning in option is good as staff are quick, pleasant, and accommodating. Food is excellent, great flavors, warm, and if spice is your thing dishes can be made spicy! There are 2 vinegar/pepper sauces, chili crisp, and chili seasoning on each table to add to your dishes if desired. Food is served quickly and hot!
Service was accommodating. I told them I understood they were closing in an hour and asked them to go ahead and put my food in containers so that when I'm full, I could just leave. They told me not to worry and that they make the food quickly and will provide containers if needed. I ordered the Pad Thai with Fried Chicken and Thai Iced Tea, and everything came out quickly. The Pad Thai was delicious and had all the flavors that are usually in a Pad Thai. I did misread the menu and thought the fried chicken came in addition to the shrimp, but it was fried chicken only. The Thai Iced Tea was authentic and delicious. Finally, it was unusually warm inside. Even though it was 30 degrees outside, I had to take off my jacket and hoodie because it was that hot in there. But overall, great food and service and chill vibes.

Casual spot with good food at a great price and I always love a cash discount! The boat noodle soup was pretty good, very nice for a cold day The second dish was also quite nice and was solid! Have dined here several times and will definitely be back.
Dakzen! Parking was clutch today and we grabbed a spot right out side a block up. The space is cute, like the vibe in there and the staff were really nice. Thai street food / home style cooking it felt like. The Khao Soi with pork had depth and flavor in its broth and the lady enjoyed it! I usually always scoop some broth to try in any soupy style dish. Gai tod - The fried chicken skewers had great flavor, cooked well -- still moist and crispy! Thai ice tea - i liked their Thai Tea, nice creamy flavor! Not bitter or watery. Khao grapow with crispy pork belly definitely more of a home style dish imo, the flavor could get a tiring but the staff mentioned slap some fish chili sauce in it is how it's done: ofc that tip helped a lot pour some on there from the table condiments provided! All in all will be back to try other dishes. The pricing was competitive and not too expensive so it made the meal a plus! Enjoyed it thank you!

There were around 8 tables at most. I was pleasantly surprised by the menu. They have a lot of noodles and rice dishes options; the classics as well as their specials. And most of their dishes were priced at $12.95, which is rare at this time! The dishes arrived very quickly within two minutes after we placed our order. The Khao Soi with crispy pork belly was really good - it was not too heavy like the other ones I've tried! The spice and the sour balanced the light coconut curry flavor well. The boat noodles were decent too. The soup could have been a little more flavorful. Both noodle dishes have a lot of meat as well. Khao Moo Dang is okay - the meat and sausage are good but the sauce was too overpowering and sweet. One thing to point out - the dishes could have been warmer. All in all, a solid place in terms of menu and flavors. The service was quick as well. -7.9/10
WOW. new favorite restaurant spot unlocked!! I love love love love this place so much!! The food is delicious!! I came here last week and got the tom yum noodles- super flavorful and spicy!! I also went this past weekend and got the ba mee moo dang which was also so so flavorful- the pork, wonton, crispy pork belly and more inside this dish was so delicious! It was a nice combo of a lot of different veggies and protein. The mango sticky rice is also soo good. Can't wait to keep coming back and order new dishes!!
We really enjoyed our food at Dakzen. We both got variations of the pork bowls, which were pretty good. I got the pork with noodles and extra pork belly. Next time I'll get extra sliced pork, but everything was great. My boyfriend's pork with noodles bowl was also pretty good. It's single serving, so you likely won't have food leftover for another meal even after order extra meat. We also ordered a side of andouille sausage, which I enjoyed. The food was so flavorful that the sauce wasn't needed. I plan on going back.
DAKZEN is a great place to go for Thai food in the David Square area! They serve mostly Thai street food but most of the same things you'd find at other Thai restaurants. The prices are the best part! Most dishes are $12.95 (highest price/dish) or $6.95 for appetizers. Another thing about DAKZEN that I really liked is how all their menu items have pictures and nice descriptions for each dish. Here's what we ended up ordering: -Thai iced tea $4.95 -Khao soi w/ pork $12.95 -Khao grapow w/ crispy pork belly $12.95 -Gai tod (fried chicken on skewers) $7.95 Okay so, the reviews did not lie! The khao soi was so good! Very flavorful & had a little kick to it. I also got it with pork for my choice of protein & I enjoyed it. I normally get chicken but chicken can be dry so I highly recommend getting pork! The khao grapow was okay. Definitely was not our favorite. Our server suggest putting fish sauce that is provided at each table. I'd say, for sure, add in some fish sauce because with the grapow flavor, it needs something to cut the flavoring a little bit. The gai tod is one of the appetizers, which consisted of fried chicken on skewers with sweet chilli sauce. I liked this dish. It had good flavor and came out nice & hot. I wish that the sauce came on the side rather than in the same plate because we had a little bit of difficulty dipping the chicken pieces in the sauce. Overall, a good place to go for something quick and tasty. Their khao soi is hard to beat and one of my favorite places that I've had it, so far in the Boston area. Will have to come back for that! Parking: parking is limited but we were able to snatch a street parking spot! Believe they do meter parking on this street. We came on a Sunday so we didn't have to deal with meters ;)

Service was great and everyone was friendly. The Thai iced tea was so refreshing with the spice. Also loved the photos on the menu -- super fun and made ordering easy.
For me, this is a local gem. The place is small but cozy, and the host is incredibly attentive and polite. They give you time to finish your meal, place your order, and even settle the bill; you never feel rushed or like you have to "eat and run." You can tell the food is prepared fresh the moment you order it, yet it still arrives at your table quickly. The portions are very generous, and the flavors are spectacular. Truly a delicious meal. Just reading the menu makes you want to order everything (it's a shame I live in another state and can't go every week). If you're craving Thai food, this is the perfect place to leave with a smile on your face. read more
I ate here years ago and remember it being good! I ordered the wonton soup and a pad see ew with beef via Uber Eats. The pad see ew was great, it had a good amount of Chinese broccoli and beef. The beef was pretty tender. It was very flavourful and had a light wok hey to it. I was not a huge fan of the wonton soup. The broth was light and the wontons were average. It was a cozy and comfort addition though. It's a nice spot and I would not mind ordering here again! read more

One of my favorite places to get Thai food in Boston. Absolutely BANGING with flavor on most dishes and it's not too expensive! I definitely recommend getting an appetizer or two. They really steal the show. The Sai Ua sausage is a MUST EAT! read more

Came here after work and get seated immediately, quick service and the lime tea was so refreshing! The place is on the smaller side with not a ton of seating but the food is so high quality and good! Got the pad kee mow and the ratio of noodles to toppings was perfect. They also have a lot of chili powder/oil/pickled pepper toppings you can put on top! read more

Great little Thai restaurant offering a wide variety of authentic Thai dishes. I ordered the Ba Mee Moo Dang ($13), which had egg noodles, BBQ red pork, crispy pork belly, pork & shrimp wontons, and some other ingredients as well. This was a delicious bowl with different flavors and textures within it. It also came with a bowl of chicken broth on the side. The fried gyozas ($7) were nice and crispy on the outside and tasty as well. The pink guava juice ($3) was just from a little bottle and had a slightly strange taste, so that was just so-so in my opinion. The place is pretty small / cute, with colorful decor to give it a bright feel. The staff are pretty friendly and the service speed is decent. We were able to just walk in and grab a table on a weekend night (granted it was a bit rainy). Overall, Dakzen is a very solid choice for Thai food in the Davis Square area. While it was not quite 5 star quality, it gets a solid 4 stars from me. read more
Ambiance: Pretty small place but also had a very chill atmosphere. Food: I had to be careful because a lot of items had oyster sauce. The Khao Soi had good flavors, although I think I messed up a bit in getting crispy chicken with it as its meant more for a noncrispy meat. There was a giant what looked fried noodles on it as you can see in the photo, which I didn't really care for / didn't need it. I visited DAKZEN for lunch and really enjoyed my meal. I got the Larb Gai with a bowl of rice. It was very filling and flavorful, especially paired with the spices at the table. The Thai iced tea was good and very refreshing. Definitely want to come back to try some of their other menu items. read more

Pretty good food for takeout, we got the Gui Chai Tod (5/5 favorite dish of the night), Pad See Ew (2/5 a bit too saucy for me), Pad Thai (2/5 a bit dry), Khao Moo dang (4/5 pretty tasty), and Kra Duk Moo Nam Dang (4/5 good ribs especially with rice). Overall I'd have to try this place again in person and not through takeout since hot food and plates make a big difference! read more
Dakzen is my go to for Thai takeout/delivery. This time, my roommates and I ordered quite the spread. I can't comment on the service or ambiance at the actual restaurant, since I've never dined at the actual restaurant. In terms of food, we ordered the Poh Piah, Rook Chin Tod, Pad Thai (Vegetable), and Khao Soi (Seafood and Tofu). I thought the appetizers were a fun way to shake it up, especially since Dakzen really focuses on street food. I've definitely had better Pad Thai from other places, but it was still solid. As always, the real star of the show was the Khao Soi. We got one with tofu and one with seafood, both of which were absolutely delicious! I will be dreaming about that Khao Soi for days... I have no idea how they make that broth so delicious. Highly recommend! read more
I wanted so badly to like this spot, since it was recommended to me by two friends independently of each other, but sadly I just didn't think the food was very good or memorable! The inside of the restaurant is very cute and there aren't very many tables. We tried the Khao soi and the khao gaprow with crispy pork belly, and the khao soi was definitely the better of those two. The khao gaprow was just unbelievably spicy and didn't have too much variety in terms of ingredients (mainly just a bed of meat on top of rice). The one really good thing about this place is that the prices are super affordable for what you get (around $10-12 for an entree). read more

Had a great dinner here, the food was amazing! I loved the Khao Soi, the flavor was delicious. The menu isn't large but has a good variety of options. The inside is small but has enough seating, and the service was quick and friendly. Looking forward to coming back! read more

My favorite Thai restaurant of all time! I come here again and again, and it does not disappoint. 15/10 stars! Experience 5/5 I love how the service is quick and easy, and food sometimes comes in seconds! Cute little restaurant with comfortable lighting and seating, however there is a wait during heavy traffic restaurant hours. Service is great. Only thing is, bathroom is superrr tiny you can barely walk in and they do not offer tap water so you have to buy a bottled beverage or buy bottled water. Food 5/5 My go-to is the pad thai w/crispy pork belly and the khao soi w/chicken. Absolutely to die for! Pad thai has just enough flavor and I love all the ingredients in this dish. I've also never had khao soi at a restaurant so yummy!! 15/10 star dish. After having the khao soi and pad thai here, I just can't go anywhere else for these dishes! Something about the flavors and spice combination make your stomach and heart feel warm after eating it, and it brings us much joy! read more
The portions here aren't huge but the prices are proportional so you get the chance to try a lot of items if you're hungry. 2 of us got their sai ua ($5.95), rook chin tod ($5.95), grapow fried rice with crispy pork ($11.95), and khao soi with chicken ($8.95). I also got their Thai lime iced tea ($3.99). The sai ua had a really nice herby flavor and came with peanuts, fresh ginger, and chili peppers. The sausage wasn't too dry and was flavorful on its own! The rook chin tod was interesting to me because I don't usually get deep-fried beef/fish balls. This would be a good option for people who like beef/pork/fish balls but I wasn't particularly blown away. I think their crispy pork is probably their best item! It really shone through in the grapow fried rice. I didn't like how the fried rice was saucy (I prefer fried rice that is on the drier side) but the seasoning and flavor was great. The khao soi was decent. I liked how the broth wasn't overly sweet like how this dish is prepared at many other Thai restaurants in the area. However, I felt that the broth was a bit bland. The chicken was just plain shredded chicken so it didn't really stand out in the dish. I highly recommend the Thai lime iced tea which wasn't overpoweringly sweet/creamy like a typical Thai tea but still had the smoky flavor. I love how there are various dried and pickled chili peppers at the table, and a deliciously smoky chili oil! The highlights of this place are their crispy pork belly and Thai lime iced tea. read more
Dakzen is so affordable and SO delicious. Came here with a group of friends and we were seated immediately. Everything was packed with flavor and service was great! For this price point you can't ask for much more. Their Pad-Thai had a very strong tamarind flavor and they did not skimp on the mix-ins. My favorite appetizer was their prawn dish - sweet & sour prawns with crispy skin. The only thing I'd skip is their guava juice (was legit a bottle of guava syrup) but would definitely come back soon because Dakzen is so damn good. read more
This place is sooooo good! Everything we ordered was flavorful and vibrant, and each dish tasted different so it was nice to try several different things. We got the fried prawns as an appetizer and they were crispy, fresh, and served on a bed of crispy noodles with fried garlic and tamarind sauce. For the meals we tried the khao soi (curry noodle soup with crispy noodles in top), pad thai, and pad see ew. Each dish was incredible. You really cant go wrong. Everything was cheap too! Noodles dishes are $9-13 depending on the meet and appetizers are $6. Best deal around here. read more

Dakzen is one of my favorite places in Davis Square! It's got the classic pad thai, pad see ewe, pad khee mao etc... but their specialty is the Thai street noodles. I've had a bunch of dishes from here, but the Khao Soi is definitely my favorite. It's got egg noodles in a nutty, coconut curry topped with crunchy fried onions... and more crispy noodles. It comes with chicken and picked veggies too. This dish is pretty spicy, so if you like spicy dishes, this is a must try. I also recommend the Ba Mee Moo Dang/Khao Moo Dang if you're looking for something less spicy. It's got fried pork belly and BBQ red pork in a sweet-and-savory Thai BBQ Sauce over noodles/rice- perfectly palatable for the piquant-averse. For appetizers, the Rook Chin Tod gets you a yummy variety of Thai meatballs/fishballs for $6, and if sausage is your jam, then you can't go wrong with the fried, juicy Moo Yaw Tod. The best part about Dakzen? The fact that all these noodles are around $10-12 or so. A great value for a delicious, filling meal! read more

The food was amazing when I picked up and dined in, but having the food piping hot from the kitchen is just unbeatable. Everything we ordered and ate left a big smile on my face. Safe to say this place is a local favorite for Thai comfort food. We came by on a Friday evening, had about a 30 minute wait so we walked around the neighborhood for a bit. Once we were seated the wait staff was super nice, took our orders quickly and the food came out promptly afterwards. We all got the Khao Soi which was yummy, the chive triangles and the spring rolls. The only thing I was ok on were the spring rolls since they were a bit doughy/only had a few strands of cabbage and carrots, but if you're going for the generic take out spring roll taste then it nails it. I really wanted to like this place - they have a cool mural outside the restaurant and the concept of Thai street food is exactly what we need in the Boston area.. but the flavors of everything I tried were underdeveloped. The fried shrimp in the tamarind sauce looked great, and the fry on the shrimp was perfect, but the sauce was a bland. I did like that they cleaned and removed the skin off the shrimp, and they placed the shrimps' fried head back on the body - it was charming plating, and eating the fried head was fun, extra crunchy. The soups we got were ok. You can tell the broth had a lot of seasonings, it tasted like broth mixed with herbal teas - it probably needed a few more hours to simmer in order to get those tastes to blend. Service was nice, the folks working there seemed pretty busy - I noticed they get a lot of delivery orders. Seating arrangements are decently spaced out, good for pairs or small groups. Price is reasonable, each item was less than $12. Will come back to try their khao soi - that is usually my go-to order when I see it in a menu! read more

Best Thai restaurant in Boston in my opinion: affordable, fast service, authentic, and just so full of flavor. Dishes that we really enjoyed: 1. Appetizer: Sai Ua - WOW. Such a perfectly spiced and cooked style of andouille sausage. 2. Main dish: GET the Khao Soi with beef if you want a flavor explosion. It's a Thai northern curry noodle soup and is rich, creamy, and packed with uncompromising flavor from a slew of aromatics. 3. The Pad Thai noodles were a good texture, but too sticky and sweet in my opinion. Definitely can be improved. read more
After coming back from with Thailand trip I became obsessed with Thai food and was looking for a place that could satisfy that craving. Many Thai places I've tried don't taste authentic and seem westernized. This place had a very authentic feel and the food was great as well. Price was fair for the dishes we got. The waiters were friendly and you have to pay before you get the food. They serve it up really fast. read more

Will there be outdoor seating during the first week of November 2021? I am planning on a lunch date with a friend on November 3rd at around 1:15 PM.
I was there this week for lunch. Both Dakzen and Posto still have their outdoor seating. I do not know if they will have outdoor seating Nov 3rd given than the weather will likely cooler. Dakzen does have limited indoor seating.

What dishes do not have refined/processed sugars in them? Only natural sugars. (e.g. fruits/vegetables contain natural sugar, cane sugar is a processed sugar for example)
Unlikely, I think they have authentic Thai flavors and ingredients.
